More useful macros:

• For ME: attack, slight delay, dash. Useful on some weapons where dash-attack does not immediately proc ME via Divine Dash and requires a second dash. Eschewing dash-attacks and simply attacking before dashing can be useful. This was yesterday and I forgot some details but I think the sword behaves this way.
• For bow: dash, tiny delay, attack. Makes it much easier to consistently execute dash-attacks. If configuring this via Steam Input, switch dash activation in this macro to "start press"; this way you can also press normal dash while holding the macro key, to dash out early.
• Auto-Dash on a certain interval (currently using 300ms) while holding the Dash key. Reduces wear and tear on the button and finger strain.

Using a suitable macro is much more consistent and much easier

And reduces wear and tear on your input device (I broke a bumper earlier)

On fists, I think I only use the auto-dash macro. Might have forgotten to mention it earlier (edit: added to the list). 300ms delay repeating Dash while holding the key (I really don't want to break it again)

Unless using ME in which case the ME macro becomes relevant (need to double check)

Easier Dash-Upper is on my list of things to "fix", it requires releasing the normal attack unless using Kinetic Launcher, trying to figure out how it needs to work

On Fists I normally just hold Dash (the aforementioned 300ms auto-Dash macro) together with Attack which is already automatic, and briefly release Attack to press Special for Dash-Upper. Maybe the Special key could programmatically "release" Attack without having to physically release the button

so, I was playing tonight and I had an idea: Endless Mode.

Instead of there being a final boss, the game loops on itself back to the first chamber, and each time you complete a region, you have to increase the heat count by 1, with whatever effect of your choosing.

Except there totally is a final boss at max heat and you get to take everything you collected home if you beat it.

Nyaanyaa's Guan Yu Guide
Generally on Guan Yu, the hammers you want are Charged Skewer > Quick Spin > Massive Spin > Serrated Point. Breaching Skewer and Serpent Wing also alright. And Breaching Skewer becomes top priority for the second hammer if you have Charged Skewer already.

Charged Skewer shortens the startup of Guan Yu's Special a whole lot and lets you hold your Special for up to triple base damage.

You'll want Heartbreak Flourish or Deadly Flourish ideally, anyway, for the high % damage. Guan Yu's Special has 45 base damage, piercing, and wide AOE. Anything with % damage is good on Attack except Tempest Strike is unorthodox and requires fully leaning into Poseidon to make it work (though it can be effective and fun).

For optimal DPS, you're either doing Special > Dash-Strike x2 or Cast > Dash-Strike x2 with Guan Yu. Cast for single-target, Special when you can hit multiple enemies with it (or if you have Charged Skewer). And just your Special and reposition if it's enough to one-shot things (which it often is if you have Charged Skewer).

There are two ways to charge the spin: from a normal Attack and from a Dash-Attack. 99% of the time you want to charge from a Dash-Attack. And there are three ways to release a spin: let go of Attack, Dash, and Dash-Attack. Letting go of Attack is the safest method and how you want to release it most of the time. It's also usually the best method for keeping the spin on your enemy. Releasing with a dash gives you i-frames and a lot more range for the spin, but it travels faster. You mainly use that to quickly escape a situation or to throw your spin at very far-away enemies. And releasing with a Dash-Attack gives you the extra range that a Dash gives but without any of the i-frames, but the benefit is that you can immediately charge a new spin. This method is the most aggressive and best for DPS, and it can keep you within the Deflect spin if you happen to use Divine Strike.

There is no vertical limit on how close they have to be to deflect, or bounce off the walls of the arena.
Their speed increases with every deflect.
