I was mostly taking this from me and other players noticing how japanese honorifics are sometimes used between characters. Against my own argument however, I do not know how honorifics are used in chinese and only using Honorifics as a basis for other unrelated translations errors that could also just happen from CN > EN probably wasn't the smartest thought process. Just be safe:

You might be lacking some damage as compared to the ref since you dont have the skill maxed and might be missing some atk, but the big thing that matters is the initial ARI

The game is F2P friendly if you just want to collect characters or compete a moderate amount in endgames; it’s possible to reach the highest tier, Nirvana, with some consistancy as a F2P

But retaining Nirvana as f2P is much harder, much less getting say consistant top 50 or 10 or 5

So if you have goals of doing that then F2Ps will struggle

Our current reccomendation for newbies is one of those two, yes, particularly if you are rerolling. Both have very similar performance

On net I would consider Badum to be a slightly better pull than FDD

But it’s close and if you have any personal preference between them I would pick that one

You could also consider going for both but that’s a significantly larger investment and I wouldn’t do it unless you liked them as characters or were in a rush to start competing in endgame (or were rerolling)

Levelling up is mainly just using stamina. Story gives a slight increase but you can just do dorm expeditions to burn stamina if you don't feel like doing story right now.

I do find that ER isn't very enjoyable if you do a lot of it back to back as it can become very repetitive and the order forces you to basically only do ER for a long time, so if you don't care that much about spoilers you can do it earlier to spread it out.

In the future I recommend not rolling unless you can be absolutely sure you can guarantee both valk and her respective weapon before the banner goes away.

Building pity is a really bad idea. It’s better to save those juicy crystals for what you are actually planning to get.

There are many reasons to not build pity. It's not worth it in 99% of situations.
Please read them and reconsider whether you actually need to build pity:

• Some banners do not carry pity into others, Please confirm it carries over before even considering building pity.
• There are events with added rewards for rolling during their durations. Any pity built beforehand will not count towards them!
• Building pity will risk getting "lucky" with the Valkyrie/weapon early. This resets your pity. A dupe or an incomplete Valkyrie will not be greatly beneficial!
• If opting to build pity on a weapon supply, it's likely to miss out on later newer stigmas and end up overspending rolls or crafting materials to get them.

-# Depending on the situation, you can build pity during a spending event to reach a certain milestone. Please ask a St. Freya Professor before making any decisions as crystals could go toward units that are more worthwhile.

yes and no. Technically there can be a best across other members but as long as things match the difference is actually not that great (5-10%. can be 15% for exceptional cases)

The main way a particular valk can shine otherwise is by context. What enemy are you facing against? Does it have particular utility you need from a very specific valk like bleeding from PS or LV?

this is kinda another reason why building pity isn't a good idea. While you'll make use of it eventually, you're committing a portion of your crystals that you cannot take back and put it into a more appropriate place at the right time

ok long ago i talked about why the meta is important. Sorry i didn't explain enough about what abyss is.

First of all abyss changes in scenario (weather and enemies) two times each week. This means you can't rely on only one team to clear everything. Think about how genshin changes its abyss, except it's much more frequent here.

Second of all, eventually in superstring (captain lv 81+) you contest against other players for high scores. This is why skipping weapons and losing 30-40% personal damage is a bad idea and won't work so well here in hi3. Everybody else you're up against high in abyss will have these weapons.

if this is superstring, there's no such thing as getting all the rewards until abyss finalizes placements in half an hour. Some people can redo their scores last minute and change your placings, resulting in changing your finalization rewards

Your h.shift valks are LP, ME, XDC, FWS. As long as you use some combination of them, it'll prob be solid enough for now but since you're stressing for additional details

LP is a bit slow but she provides team breach to ignore a portion of the enemy's defense/resistance. Possibly one of your stronger options.

ME and FWS are generally quite fast in animations. I think both restores higher ARI than normal when evading incoming attacks (ME more than FWS).

• i don't own ME so i might be off about some details
  ME might further help deal some core damage to img enemies that RS should be used against? However beware as a support her personal damage may not be notable (esp if the weather is phys up with lightning down), and a stronger support for better RS damage might be preferred instead.

I can't recall if anything about XDC as an H.shift support is notable. I think she can still insta kill bio mobs but that prob isn't notable for RS dps cases.

i don't want to discredit 8 p2 valks completely. It's good to have a good amount of various ring types and tags to not only cover a variety of scenarios (even second best in lower tiers can be enough) but also just to have a support foundation for newer stuff coming along

most earlier player problems is because they lack that infrastructure to support the new shiny gacha valk they just got

What matters in MA is how you place against everyone else in the server. The maximal rewards are in the top 2%. However ranking higher only gives you more ancient willpower to buy more out of date valks in War Treasury shop, so ranking isn't truly important overall.

• We mainly stress to just clear MA without worrying about rankings in order to get challenge rewards for crystals and source prisms.

What matters in Elysian Realm is to get weekly 500 crystals from deep sequence. The minimum difficulty to do this is "abstinence" or 2.25x. As Cay said, this isn't really considered for how good your account is because at worst even farmable A rank Coralie (which anyone can get) can clear that.

yeah i'm not too concerned about those then. Abyss is really the main meta mode that is stressed since you need to actually build your account well to get the crystals from it, and the crystals you get from it are actually quite plentiful compared to other regular sources in the game.

roughly in one week you can get 2k crystals from regular sources (not including events). Abyss at red lotus retain is half of that (500 per cycle, but 2 cycles happen each week)

yeah so the main gacha changes are

• equipment is not all gacha only now. Only the weapon is gacha only and takes 60 pulls at worst to get. If you don't get all the stigmatas in time, you can use the free stig selector box for the newest release each patch, or craft in foundry
• we don't really alternate between patches of farmable valk and gacha only valk anymore. Most patches are now feature a new gacha only valk release. ||next patch is exceptional and we aren't getting a new gacha only valk there||
• so overall cost for a particular character with her weapon is cheaper but the overall cost is more evened out across multiple patches compared to before
• patches are also longer now so some may see that as there's more time to save
• there's other changes but they are more minor

anyway the general ideas of getting full gear with a valk hasn't changed. If you want to build yourself back towards meta, focus more on saving up and only rolling for newest patch releases when you have enough to get valk + weapon. Again this doesn't have to be a full extent (edit:going after every new release). It's fine to aim for something more partial especially if you have only specific interests in the game currently.

You could consider Horb dkey rerun as probably least bad for your account but I would reccomend saving unless you have a lot of crystals spare when it runs

As far as backpulls go it’s less bad because it’s cheap and a dkey but in general returnees tend to have limited funds

on average, kinda plan on valk + weapon being about 150 pulls, and you get all the stigmata you need from that, plus some extras. you may get lucky and save a few pulls here and there. but don’t plan on lucky because that leads to sadness and panick farming

generally a newly released valk does see a rerun shortly afterwards in future patches

however meta wise for f2p/light spending and long term it's recommended to forget about reruns even at that point

your crystals are too limited to pick up reruns without compromsing picking up new releases (you already can't afford them all reliably/safely) and the mileage you get is diminished

but if you have any particular bias towards a particular rerun, we can work with it. Meta isn't everything and you can still appreciate a recent rerun a good amount.

also on the note of gacha astral ops, they generally aren't recommended for earlier players. Their benefits can matter at the highest level for developed accounts but most players even at RL won't appreciate them enough to justify their costs

Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

There are no meaningful f2p options for modern characters it is sig or die for abyss. Wyverein has some numbers on his youtube but rotations vary a lot depending on fight specific factors, so general numbers are all pretty questionable.
Given that GD and HoFi with DoG has no meta value beyond some SS MA strats, it doesn't matter that much beyond if it makes the strat possible.
For HoFi to work as support for a modern team she needs Waxing Moon.

Not really, firstly they cover different niches and HLE is generally a good support while RS has the reputation of being a mediocre support. You also can't really compare raw DMG numbers because you always have to consider things like speed, the boss, the current weather, special mechanics etc

In general the game isn't black or white when it comes to how good a character is it's always situational and changes depending on your needs

Overall, you should only affix Best-in-Slot Stigmata and generally aim to get as much Atk as possible on your DPS Valkyries first. Ensure that the Battlesuit/Weapon Type matches what the Affix line demands otherwise the Atk will not apply.

Remember only Physical Damage can crit, and "crit ratios" do not apply to Honkai Impact 3rd.

Sorry for the late bump in topic but I just want to add more information to what Jahjab already have said for your consideration.

Keep in mind the main priority with bp orbs is for divine keys you're still lacking that are in reserve work shop (except judah and pledge of sakura which you can get elsewhere). Each gives you +10 atk to all your valks (abyss flower and fenghuang down needs a few more steps+costs though) which isn't much on its own, but does add up meaningfully. If you're not concerned with high tiers of abyss, then you can disregard this more though.

But on the other hand as mentioned before, Sena as a support doesn't benefit too much from the weapon such that the 10 orb cost might be too much. https://i.imgur.com/YXYI3QG.png

• Her main notable support use are for Wheel of Destiny teams where she can stay entirely/mostly off field so you can focus more on using your main dps.
• If you are quite new and are lacking better supports for World Star teams but you picked up Songque astral op from spending event, you may consider using sena to get a bunch of initial ARI to get to your Stellar Outburst sooner in battle. This isn't always going to be beneficial but it's a consideration.

Aside from support, I want to ask do you have other character's maxed out gacha drive cores to use on Senadina? I presume not if you're considering her as support to ||SW|| but just in case, Vita's weapon can be a cope budget option (still too much of a loss for high RL/nirvana). https://i.imgur.com/aSZpVw7.png Overall we don't really expect too much primary use cases for Sena dps at this point but if your roster is lacking, maybe you can still appreciate her as a dps.

VBm syncs can be ok. I think of each sync as 1% team overall dmg loosely speaking which might make a difference similar to affix especially when scores are being so close high in the game.
