i wouldn't really go out of your way solely for supports (whether it's rita as the support, or supports for rita). Keep in mind all gacha valks have multiple tags or multiple support roles

supports kinda just fill in over time as long as you get enough valks

so long term wise focusing on new releases in full (valk and weapon) is key to developing your account in a solid manner

#

but i mean if you must get rita then that's just a trade off/opportunity cost. As long as not too much of those happen, it's not going to brick you massively or forever in the grand scheme of things

i'm not familiar with what rita's weapon specifically offers either so you'll need to count on someone else or look into it yourself there

Honestly, my account was always meant to be bricked as I only joined the game becuase of the free pulls advertisement and HLE skin. I joined the gane with the "I'll pull whatever I like" mentality, but then the story hooked me up. And then I developed a new fav character in the story which is Rita, so naturally, I decided ill pull for her at any cost, but I js didnt know that she will get a rerun so soon, and just pulled way too many things before her rerun. Right now, the only reason im chasing meta is so that ill be able to gain as many crystals as I possibly can before Rita's rerun and get her even if its weaponless

Ok you did say something to that effect before but I also wasn't sure how aware you were to the grand scheme of things so forgive me for repeating it more in detail.

In that case, you can disregard focusing on any new release if they don't interest you. While the increase in crystals from abyss is notable, it's not going to compensate the full 40k cost of some valk you didn't care about.

Focus on getting what you want and making use of them the best you can then. We already covered astral ring team building so you prob have a solid enough idea there.

can you screenshot details of the returnee fund? I'm not familiar with it.

How do you personally value knight bp? Personally I would only evaluate it in terms of the crystals you gain, but you do get more than just crystals from it. Up to you to decide there.

If going purely by crystals, you should be able to run some conversions to overall get a crystals earned divided by real money paid sort of ratio. Naturally you want to gain the most crystals while paying the least amount.

keep in mind meta wise (notable for crystal income), non astral ring valks (so HoS HoT and GD) are all out of date. You can still use them if you wish but keep investments for them more cheap and don't make it run out of things you need for newer valks.

those were two separate teams. initially i wanted to build towards shadow knight since that's what my old account had but then i got fate defying dragon so i wound up deciding to build both teams

Shadow knight is indeed a lightning dps but HoT is also a dps. When you have 3 members to swap across and only control one at a time, it doesn't really make much sense to have two dps

alot of effects in the game are multipliers so you amplify your damage much more having two supports boosting one dps (there can be exceptions to this)

The thing about FDD as a leader is that she's a Rite of Oblivion ring type. This particular ring type doesn't really have consistent guidelines. It more just depends on the valk specifically and whatever that goes for her.

FDD in particular wants 3 of the same ring type on the team (unless it's PAWS Helia but i don't recommend catching up on her for her). The damage loss between 2 RoO vs 3 RoO is kinda massive. RoOs aren't common either making it awkward for newer players to form her full proper team. This sounds concerning but I don't want you focusing on this right now. For now we'll focus on using her the best we can, then transitioning her to support roles when you get other valks to use as dps later. https://i.imgur.com/PRkeKAP.png

hm i think you can consider cutting your losses there. 10 rolls can be alot or small depending on how you want to look at it
pity transfer over alot of banners in this game when they change but for starter or carnival, they do not once they completely end.

But signature weapon is the only gacha exclusive gear, and generally any valk that doesn't have it will...

  • suffer 30-40% personal damage loss compared to their next best weapon (VBm's hammer for FDD's case)
  • some weapons might have further utility. Some of this utility may include gameplay functions that can be important for their attack sequence.
    • FDD doesn't need her weapon to perform her actions thankfully but her team buffs on it are kinda large. She's usually one of the best supports but won't be best without her weapon. Still can be good enough though

it all depends on how they are placed in the team and if they match each other

tldr of the videos, when using fdd as a matching support...

  • expect 12-14% overall team damage loss
    • while fdd is normally one of the better support options, this can be the difference and make her worse than others
    • but matching supports aren't too far off from each other anyway. You can still get good enough results with other supports or with weaponless fdd

the main contents of the game where you get to used your built stuff are

  • abyss (top priority. you get more crystals here from doing better)
  • memorial arena (not as important. just clear the fights for crystals. ranking high doesn't get you more)
  • elysian realm (at worst a low ranked VBm can get you max weekly crystals from this. so not something to stress badly)

anyway this is alot of digression and preamble but let's finally get back to how you would use FDD for now

i do think it's fine of you to stick with VBm and VBs.

For VBm coralie, you can rank her to SSS. Crafting her stigmata might be costly for now though. Try to hold off until you really need it and have excess materials to spend (as long as you don't need them for a future valk. Basically stay above 21 source prisms)

as for VBs, she falls off very fast (not as flexible and very weak) so you can leave her at a low rank. Just level her up and unlock her relevant skills and keep her cheap. Give her roald 3pc or ogier T or something and just use the default weapon.

(technically FDD and VBm are the real filler units because their ring type lets them forcibly activate leader skills even if they don't match the leader)

oh i didn't cover why i don't recommend FDD's weapon

  • it costs 60 rolls at worst. that's almost 17k crystals
    • all weapons cost this amount. in other words instead of getting this, you could've got a different, preferably newer weapon
    • if you're f2p or light spending, you won't really expect to get every new release (or even if you do, you'll have other things to consider). Reruns are very difficult to justify unless you highly favor them
    • the main reasons why FDD and FWS are considered now despite being reruns is because they are easier to reroll for.
  • weapons are mainly important for dps role purposes. However best dps use cases for a valk are at release patch. Afterwards they become more and more rare. FDD is a rerun by several patches at this point. While early on you'll use her for everything, later on you won't use her as much.
  • Every valk has a meta shelf life so to speak. After enough time they do get directly replaced or their scenarios stop showing up completely. FDD being a rerun means she's possibly closer than something more new to falling off the meta
    • not every valk is equal about this though. FDD is also one of the stronger ones so you can make an argument with me about how she may be more lasting than others. But there's already examples where she's not as preferred as other options now.
  • as said earlier, FDD doesn't need her weapon to function well enough for support

there's no limit, you grind as much as you can
on average a new release valk + sig want 30 crystals, 40k for hard pity on both
for spending patches because there's also a dk, if you have its character you want 10k+ to thr previous count
and ||for 8.8 you only want the dk so all n all just 16k unless you have a reason to get youyun||

but in short it depends on what you need to get in a patch so just farm as much as possible

Hi, Captain! AichanCrystals

Ai-chan recommends that you keep the box until you have a use case for one of the weapons. Both Purana Phantasma and Nocturnal Stealth have their uses. Key of Ego is generally not recommended.

If you insist on opening the box immediately, Purana is likely to have more usage long-term due to the team tdm buff and RC being able to quickly debuff enemies which may be useful for SS MA.

oh one last minor thing. I might be too late but none of those weapons are notable later in the game. Some people may opt to hold on to the box because it's unique and cannot be obtained anywhere else (along with various other early game eggs and boxes)

but there's plenty of boxes like that in the game too. If you like having a massive inventory for sentimental collection then consider keeping it

Not sure if it's something that should be asked here. I'm on the fence on whether or not I should play the current story event.
I'm way behind on the story still, so I don't really understand what's happening, but I'm a bit worried on missing the rewards.
Crystals, but more importantly, fragments for Valkyrie Blastmetal / Valkyrie Boltstorm.

Many people advising to skip it, and basically skip all the story events until I catch up with the story. But it's going to take a long time, since I'm still in Part 1.

  • some players don't mind seeing some things as they skip through it but catch up later with other sources (youtube etc). The game isn't perfect about preserving everything if you already have gone past it and in some cases esp recently they're not even replayable.
  • otherwise we overall do recommend just skipping and forgoing it and playing at your own pace

VBm is something you would like to max out eventually but it's not nothing too major.

VBs falls off very fast so you don't need to concern too much about her. I would even advise just unlocking her for early use and then leaving her alone at A rank with default weapon and barebone starter support stigs

yeah because we don't know if these stamps will make a difference for your performance in abyss yet. Abyss has unlimited tries so you can push for ranks if you're actually using the valk there and think it can change your placement to a new reward (demote > retain > promote)

and these changes can happen from big or small improvements. It's very fair for you to be one point away

on the other extreme, maybe you can gain a huge sum of points but that doesn't matter if you're already overkilling/in first etc

So it's a good upgrade but it might not be good enough for the meta. We do have an upcoming bleed mobius abyss cycle so maybe you can evaluate by then

In your case, an HLE leader is a Grail of Infinitude leader.

Grail ring type matches with a tag called "symbiosis"

so you want your supports to have that property.

Matching tags will allow your supports to provide mechanics for the leader's playstyle gimmick. Every ring type has a different one.

The grail ring type wants to consume alot of sp to perform ultimate attacks

Symbiosis tag supports restore the team's sp greatly.

if you're using them as a support you can usually (not everyone. Vita and FDD don't follow this completely) check their 3pc stigmata effect

basically a bunch of ways to trigger some name of an effect (qilin's guard in this case). Every valk has their own name to keep them separate

but if you look around and read other effects you'll see this name comes up alot in other parts of the set

and basically a bunch of team buff and debuffs are from this

so when using the valk as a support, one of the main things to do is to trigger this effect

in this case mei can

  • hit the enemy with ultimate
  • hit the enemy with QTE
  • the team can enter outburst (big blue button for the fancy high damage mode.)

Stellar Drain is a mechanic where using specific attacks to hit an enemy can restore a large amount of Astral Ring Intensity ([ARI](#👶beginner-help message)).
However, each Character on the team only gets 1 stack of Stellar Drain and can only consume their own stack. This stack is restored across the team when entering battle or exiting Stellar Outburst (SO).
Normally the amount of ARI generated by consuming Stellar Drain is 20 if the Character has the matching attribute for that team. When the Character does not have the matching attribute for that team they usually restore 10 ARI. (for more info on team building, view [!faq ring](#👶beginner-help message)).

  • Note that:
  • Stellar Drain stacks are NOT visible
  • Stellar Drain stacks can NOT exceed 1 per Character
  • when attacking an enemy, the game may register your attack as a hit even if you don't see any actual damage numbers; this may be because the enemy is hidden or non-targetable
  • the amount of ARI generated can also be affected by weapon passives/Character skills
  • Characters may have multiple ways to consume Stellar Drain; for example, FWS can consume Stellar Drain with her CA and her enhanced WA

this is luna's method. It's hard to read but basically it says use her ultimate

now stellar drain isn't something you can spam over and over until you reach outburst. You only get to use it once per valk until you enter and leave outburst (an outburst cycle)

but even if you can only use it once that's still roughly 60 ARI. It's still alot

#

this isn't the only way to get ARI but i won't cover those for now. In some rare cases you might get enough ARI elsewhere and you can save some time by skipping a stellar drain

#

but in most cases you'll want to do them at some point

#

So just to recap. A support mainly wants to trigger their 3pc stig effect, and their stellar drain

there can be more uses (utility like hitcount, or reducing swap cooldowns, qte, etc) but we won't go into all that for now

another thing i may go more indepth about is... while dkeys are the main things to get from the reserve work shop, they're still only +10 atk each and may not matter greatly on their own

it's slow to accumulate orbs if you're f2p

i actually recommend keeping some amount of orbs handy in case some future news makes you want to spend a bunch on something else

or if you have a specific situation right now where you know that +10 atk will help significantly (change your ranking/rewards) then it's fine to get it now too.

Generally i'd say that most of the characters you're missing are more niche and not as impactfull today so you dont really need any of them for RL, for nirvana it really depends on the weather but retaining more regularly and sometimes dropping back to RL seems reasonable in my opinion. Especially if you're willing to spend since the main thing that bottlenecks people from retaining nirv are AOPs.
imo you're fine if you just continue playing and picking up every new release + their weapon, you could consider picking up thelemas weapon from the BP since it's pretty important for her and her supportive capabilities and you might get some use out of her.

As for backpulling i'd say that none of the characters you're missing are too important, dudu get's shilled relatively irregularly and she's also not that notable as a support, for paws the same kinda applies just that her shill is not as irregularly but that's also starting to decline, paws would also be notable for fdd DPS but fdd dps is niche to begin with. The only one you could get make an argument for imo is rita, she's fairly new and she covers img which a rather annoying niche to deal with, though at the same time some of her value lies in her being a WoD support which you can't really utilize since lantern,jds,and thelema are all missing their weapon. i'd wait to get a second opinion on this one but the other battlesuits are a just wait until they fall out of meta case imo

this game is really rewarding of playing it for a long time regularly especially if you're trying to retain nirvana since playing longer means you have more niches covered and potentially have more dkeys than other players. Hence why nirvana is rather something you get to over time but if it is your goal and you're willing to spend a bit for aops when they release/to guarantee that you can get every valk + their weapon it is definitely achievable

1 - Grips of Tai Xuan (gloves, cope glove weapon and ice gene limit).
2 - Cleaver/Judgement of Shamash (guns/greatsword, need both to sync for +10 attack and fire gene limit).
3 - Jizo Mitama (katana, phys gene limit attached to it).
4 - Star of Eden (cannon, has no attached gene limit it just exists).

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

  • Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
  • Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30kCrystal).
    • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
  • The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

Tbh every relevant one, SS Chenxue was the standard on release, SS serapeum provides initial Ari which is quite useful since the introduction of the stellar surplus mechanic ( was good even before that ) and if you're planning on playing S sera with a elementsl DMG dealer you'll lack DMG. S Teri was fine on release but with rising dist the gap to SS has increased and is also kinda the standard now || sonque will get replaced next patch by youyun and youyun also wants SS ||
