The general strategy for f2ps in this game is to only pull new releases if you have enough for them + their weapon, as a f2p you can only afford about 3/4 of new releases with average luck and 2/4 while assuming you hard pity. Because of that you want to focus on things that will have the most value for you and generally that value peaks at their release

You'd need to craft bounty weapons and then convert one for 1000 weapon resonance, though if you're getting HoT's weapon for personal reason her newer weapon 7 thunders is in reserve work and also actually recommended to get because it's a divine key do might as well take that

LV's S2 specifically is a notable boost for her (or at least before dkey but prob still is the case)

but at the same time if your LV is only S0 I don't expect S2 to be notable for abyss when everyone else around you higher in abyss has SS0 or higher

not saying to rule it out completely. We do have a bleed mobi abyss coming up so you can assess for LV stamps then

yeah but you need to keep in mind HI3 is a relative game. How good things are depends on how it compares to other players around you and also what situation you're using the valk in

and in some cases the differences may not matter much at all

on paper LV's best teammates for damage may be FDD and XDC? (i never saw any numbers for this)

but in practice of the previous tribunal boss bleed weather, PS sushang was a notable support for hitcount utility

XDC was used in some strats but if you had enough damage, badum was also used for speed instead

and in RL cases, there was hardly a difference as long as you had sushang

for beginners in this channel, asking what is best is honestly more of a trap question

because it makes you think you need to go back and catch up on older stuff. But doing so if you're light spending/f2p will cause you to miss out on newer stuff and overall is less efficient in the long run

older stuff are more likely to fall off sooner and not be used as much but still cost the same as they did before (unless they're very old and becoming more available) so overall they are what i say not meta or crystal efficient to get

i only really want to add in my thoughts about the supply shop stamps because i don't consider S2 LV a good idea for earlier players (nor affixes in general unless you have a very specific and extreme scenario that general 22x2 lines aren't going to cut it)

what i'm more trying to say is, it's fine to look at base atk for a valk when comparing to other players using that same valk

but comparing atk from valk to valk alone will be flawed

i think long ago LE had the highest atk stat in the game

it's like saying hey my valk has 2500 attack but her base multiplier is like 10% whole team only gives her a 50% buff

then this other valk has 2000 atk but her base multiplier is 50% and the whole team gives her a 100% buff

but also keep in mind atk isn't everything. Don't neglect your dorm squad, gene limits, emblems, or your gameplay to bring up team buffs/debuffs, as well as enemy vulnerabilities. None of those are atk but they are various multipliers that do come together, big and small

In this case hle is already 2 patches old and the next time she reruns might not be for a few patches in which case her value would have decreased even more. If you want to hyper focus on Rita I'd be a consideration but iirc you've mentioned being interested in the meta to a certain degree a few days ago. || Consider that we're also getting a free Sena next patch and Sena does work pretty well as a Rita support. So you'd run Rita + vbm + Sena ||

I’d prioritize TM because Ogier B can be a useful third for Mei but the 3pc is worth getting for flex if you can

• first of all CE does have a slight phys buff in her skills but it's very very slight (like 10% https://i.imgur.com/gX4kAF2.png). Her main role is to boost bleed dmg which mei does not primarily deal.
• while crit dmg only is for physical and not elementals, bleed as a damage property cannot crit. marco polo m boosts crit dmg specifically. Most of CE's personal damage is bleed based
• we don't really care about damage from the support (it can matter later on though when support valks are properly geared). Marco polo is a budget physical dps stig set. With how multipliers are for this game, it doesn't make sense to boost the direct damage of a support

although later on 99% of the time, the rule of thumb is just to stick with 3pc signatures anyway (nowadays stigs are craftable at worst)

the idea is even if you got lucky on getting her early, that luck could've theoretically gone to someone of better value (but we don't know how luck truly works in this game)

anyway for any new released valk, you generally want their weapon

• every valk can be used as a dps or as a support now. Not having their weapon usually incurs a 30-40% dps loss from their next best alternative. for dps use this is too big for many purposes
• some valks have utility on their weapon. Sometimes these utilities can be important for their gameplay flow
  • in the case of HLE her weapon equipment allows her to restore sp from casting her weapon active https://i.imgur.com/MRWQMto.png
  • hle does often make use of this as a support (not always though) but if you don't have it, you may have to figure out some other method or be a bit slower to get around it and farm sp to access ult for stellar drain

there's more i can say but let me catch up a little

in the case of skins

• they offer no gameplay advantages. You're going after them purely for aesthetics. Up to you at that point if you're fine with giving up on meta progress for it.
  • meta is encouraged because that's how you gain more crystals from abyss
  • but meta doesn't have to be everything
• just because you own a skin doesn't mean you must go after the valk now. As time goes on, older valks become more and more available. Granted HLE is relatively new so this would be a very long wait

Stellar Drain is a mechanic where using specific attacks to hit an enemy can restore a large amount of Astral Ring Intensity ([ARI](#👶beginner-help message)).
However, each Character on the team only gets 1 stack of Stellar Drain and can only consume their own stack. This stack is restored across the team when entering battle or exiting Stellar Outburst (SO).
Normally the amount of ARI generated by consuming Stellar Drain is 20 if the Character has the matching attribute for that team. When the Character does not have the matching attribute for that team they usually restore 10 ARI. (for more info on team building, view [!faq ring](#👶beginner-help message)).

• Note that:
• Stellar Drain stacks are NOT visible
• Stellar Drain stacks can NOT exceed 1 per Character
• when attacking an enemy, the game may register your attack as a hit even if you don't see any actual damage numbers; this may be because the enemy is hidden or non-targetable
• the amount of ARI generated can also be affected by weapon passives/Character skills
• Characters may have multiple ways to consume Stellar Drain; for example, FWS can consume Stellar Drain with her CA and her enhanced WA

Luck really isn't something you need to depend on in this game. often times our recommendation is more about securing against worst case scenarios. Compared to other hoyo games there's no 50/50 going on so things are more consistent to plan around

Pity on many banners do carry over but it's not really ideal to build pity for many reasons

There are many reasons to not build pity. It's not worth it in 99% of situations.
Please read them and reconsider whether you actually need to build pity:

• Some banners do not carry pity into others, Please confirm it carries over before even considering building pity.
• There are events with added rewards for rolling during their durations. Any pity built beforehand will not count towards them!
• Building pity will risk getting "lucky" with the Valkyrie/weapon early. This resets your pity. A dupe or an incomplete Valkyrie will not be greatly beneficial!
• If opting to build pity on a weapon supply, it's likely to miss out on later newer stigmas and end up overspending rolls or crafting materials to get them.

but let's talk more about weaponless valks in general since that concerns your HLE

for any valk you get for free or affordably without really compromising crystals for new valks, i do generally recommend leaving them weaponless (there can be weird exceptions where a valk is absolutely helpless without the weapon but in such cases i wouldn't stress the valk either)

let's focus on understanding concepts for now before we talk about your specifics

but yes that would a priority. keep in mind stigs at worst are craftable though

so when crafting you would prioritize getting 3pc first before upgrading them individually

anyway this is not an absolute rule. Some valks may have their main support effect elsewhere (Vita and FDD wants to ult, sena wants to do her attack sequence finisher), and some valks may have additional effects elsewhere

• hle in particular has an additional effect for wheel of destiny teams in her kit, but that's irrelevant to XDC who is grail leader

but anyway you can see here the trigger conditions are

• hitting something with weapon skill
• hitting something with qte
• the team entering outburst
• starting the battle with hle as leader
• starting stellar surplus (given by some valks like ME rita for certain teams)

and also note this general support effect lasts for 25s. Very standard for newer teams

you don't need to trigger that full list. just any one of them will do

so triggering that 3pc stig effect, as well as the stellar drain from earlier is what HLE mainly opts to do as support (there can be a few more minor uses like freezing enemies)

• weaponless HLE as purely support prob is workable but will be more awkward.

  • normally with weapon it's common for HLE support to start with weapon active and full ult (150sp, abyss only starts you with 90 while arena starts you with 0) for buff/debuffs and stellar drain when the enemy is spawned and hittable but not able to take damage yet https://youtu.be/uskPuzaU37g?t=11. The time save prob isn't too major but it does edges out HLE over other close options (supports that match with the leader generally perform pretty similarly. There can be niche scenarios though that emphasizes a particular one).

• you did got a skin for her. Are you sure you're fine with her as only as a support? I feel players focused on elysia specifically wouldn't be, but meta wise i do agree and recommend cutting it here at weaponless.

  • At the very least you can prob still get by with her dps weaponless in very low tiers of abyss/early game.
  • dps use cases for a valk are most numerous on release, then becomes more and more rare as time goes on. By the time you reach late meta game, HLE dps best use cases may become once in a blue moon.

• you'll need a second symbiosis support for Mei to be able to do two full cycles in outburst. For this patch, rerolling on starter/carnival was viable for one since getting rolls for them were easier than normal. But actively paying regular costs of crystals is questionable. Long term meta efficient wise, I recommend waiting for new valks to have the tag and just getting those.

• ME rita's main perk is accessing stellar surplus for wheel of destiny leader teams (whether it's herself or someone else).

  • surplus is a mechanic where you gain additional effects and buffs from charging even further without going into outburst. This kinda encourages additional sources of gaining astral ring intensity (energy). Mainly SS Serapeum astral op who is quite old by now and not recommended for f2ps and non competitives (from gacha).

Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.
