The "Grail of Infinitude" Astral Ring Specialization revolves around the team sharing SP in Stellar Outburst. Valkyries with this Specialization have the ability to consume huge amounts of SP to deal damage. The tag/attribute that matches with this ring type is ["Symbiosis"](#👶beginner-help message).

so this might feel like a bunch of nonsense to you but it's basically

for a GoI ring type leader when you enter outburst, you do gain further buffs depending on how much sp you were able to consume during that outburst state

so this S1 effect improves the buffs you gain from that

i'm not going to explain this in excruciating detail. The faq is there for that. But that's the idea of that part of s1

these two effects are prob easy to understand. It helps XDC as a support for those other ring types.

notice how some of these effects tell you what the original value before the upgrade are too

so you're not getting a full 15%. You're going from an existing 5% to 15%. 10% more from before with s1

Loosely speaking i would consider a new multiplier major if it's like an added 30% (LV s2).

FDD's weapon gives 15% total damage buff and 15% total damage debuff and together is major enough for a 12-14% overall team damage decrease compared to A rank coralie's weapon.

not saying these should be your absolute metrics but it can give you an idea for now

independent multipliers and breach can also be major even in small amounts

the former is what they sound like. Just a new multiplier in the formula rather than adding to anything that's already diluted

breach and impair go off of enemy stats. So if the enemy has high amount of it, even chipping off a little can help alot

Again those are very bare definitions and ideas so don't take it as your full understanding

S2 XDC sounds fancy but afaik it doesn't matter too much

so the first part is saying

• as a leader
• during ARC (when you're NOT in outburst)
• when you QTE

only then you restore one additional part of her special attack meter than normal

it sounds potent because you can get to her hold attacks sooner

however alot of strats in abyss currently turn off XDC's QTE when she's the leader dps (edit: extra time for the animation and the hit itself is kinda weak. You can get the sp and fighting spirit in other ways that are overall more efficient i suppose)

but MA really isn't important (ranking higher gives no further crystals)

the second effect is the time fracture addition i mentioned earlier but again not very appreciated outside of MA

this is the first SS skill

so it's saying

• as leader
• in the first outburst
  you can trigger world splitting light (this is the weapon active finisher) immediately (normally it goes on cooldown)

and remember what i said earlier about consuming sp to gain further buffs when you're in outburst as a GoI leader? this effect gives you full buffs for that attack if you choose to use it early/

keep in mind S1 already boosts this too. But overall this is still just one attack in the grand scheme of her kit.

you'll mainly appreciate it if you need to do an short first outburst going into a second one later in the fight. But these sort of scenarios are more common at a nirvana level and less common for red lotus and below of abyss

again i do not recommend going after ranks for most intents and purposes. Think carefully if you want them to improve the valk alone,

or maybe you can consider a different avenue to imporve the overall team the valk is in (gacha ops)

or just save because you're not as meta, therefore your abyss income won't be as high.

But also meta isn't everything. As long as you fully understand the details and ramifications, going for a non meta decision is fine and fair. We respect that.

Hi. I've just started playing like a week ago, and thinking about maybe pulling for Xentinel (as well as her weapon/AstralOp) once I save up a bit more.
I can see in her guide that she synergizes with Fiery Wishin Star Kiana and Fate-Defying Dragon Coralie, so I gather they should make a good team.
Both of those are on Starter Supply at the moment, but I keep hearing that one should never-ever pull on Starter.
What would be a wise thing to do here? Or is there another team I should be focusing on building first?
I haven't yet bought any battle-passes or anything really, so my only S-rank is Herrscher of the Void Kiana.

usually every patch features a new valk. patches nowadays are usually 9 weeks in length (not always. can be 8 or others)

however ||next patch we only have beta info for a new divine key gacha weapon to change an existing valk. We don't have any actual new valk known for next patch yet.||

while I myself always emphasise that meta isnt everything in this game and everyone needs to find their balance on how competitive they are, the advice in this channel is still normally meta centred since the meta directly influences the crystal income quite a bit in this game.
I'm not saying this to discourage you giving more casual advice but you'd want to highlight both the meta and non meta perspective in a situation like this so that the person can choose for themselves if they want to pursue the game from a competitive perspective

understanble but do you understand what you're leaving behind with that account though ?
My main point on why keeping your old account would be the right choice are the Valkyries you already have, with badum/vita/dragon coralie you already have a decent team and a lot of support coverage, the main problem with newer players and their accounts is the time it takes to get a decent team and some good support coverage.
With your roster you have WS,LoA,GoI and RoO covered and WoD works decently only with RoO supports.
You valkyries also arent too out of date and i expect them to still see a bit of relevance in the future.

The main thing you'd do on your old account is to do the discounted pull on mei's banner and then decide what to do next based on that outcome

On a new account you'd just pull mei + her weapon and then save for the next patch

Besides from these 2 things you'd basically follow the same principal on both accounts, save until a new version is here, see if you can afford the valk + her weapon and pull if you can.
|| one thing i especially wanna point out is that we won't get a new valkyrie in the next patch but only an AOP + a dkey for Silverwing, Silverwing has the astral ring type WS so your old account could still support her with good supports while your new account would have to use decent-ish a rank supports ||

in the end it's really up to you though and ask any questions if you feel like you dont fully understand what i'm saying here

at the very least there's no 50/50 and you're very close to get it

If u have the funds then yes, it is worth to pull every patch, but usually the xtal income cant sustain that, so u have pick and chose which chara u are gonna pull, and which u are gonna skip, ofc skipping a valk means u will probably do badly on her shill, but thats just how it is for f2p and low spenders, and how to decide which valk to pull and which to skip, well u look at ur roster, and see which new character doesnt overlap a lot with what u have, example lets say current banner is an img valk, and next new release is a qua valk and u have some valks that can cover img weathers without losing too bad but u dont have a valk for qua, then u would be more inclined to pull the qua valk next release instead of the current banner valk

My broad reccomendation is if you have eventual Nirvana goals Luna dkey for attack and if you don’t then Mei + wep is probably better

I wouldn’t backpull Badum weapon atp

Not that her wep isn’t good but if I was choosing between it and Mei + wep or Luna dkey I’d pick them first

Last boss PS should be around 20-30 points better then alternatives.

But again P2 teambuilding is pretty flexible so best isn't set in stone and depends a lot of what her bosses ask for.

the general idea for most teams is to swap to supports, set up their team buff/enemy debuff effects

then swap to dps and mileage from both support's uptimes until one of them is gone and you need to refresh it. rinse and repeat

• if you can enter outburst, that tends to reactivate most (sometimes not all) supporting effects

every newer valk can operate as a support now as long as they are not the leader.** In most (but not all) cases, their main team effect is on their 3pc stigmata effect** (this is the case for the three valks you're looking at). These often have multiple conditions to activate.

• some valks like vita and dragon coralie would have their primary team effect elsewhere like ultimate
• some valks may have additional team support effects elsewhere. HLE as a support for wheel of destiny has an additional buff

i'll screenshot a few examples

as for playing the dps, it differs per valk. For the most part i'll refer you to the ingame tutorial as an introduction to get started but for actual optimal play, you can closely observe high level fight videos (references we call them) and cross check with descriptions

All the valks you have are grail ring type, which emphasizes restoring sp and consuming it frequently with their ultimates

So sena cannot support Mei and saying how many patches you are behind and rewards I’d recommend if you’re not too attached to your account making a new one so you can get a lot of pulls because beginner rewards in this game are a lot better than returning rewards because sena is not Meta anymore she is insanely niche

And she cannot support the new Astro ring type that Mei is

And it’s up to you if you want to back pull, which is not really recommended but if you want to the carnival supply has Meis best supports and also the beginner banner does so if you do make a new account, maybe you can pull for one or two of our supports if you just really want to, but it’s gonna be a while before on that new account, you hit level 80 and be able to do competitive stuff

• Are you saying you lost the email? If so you may need to contact customer support (CS). Doesn't sound like this is what you mean.
• or maybe you just mean you have the account but it's out of date and you're trying to bring it back to meta? I assume it's this but i'm pointing it out so you can be mindful of your wording in the future.
  • bringing an old account back up to meta isn't impossible but it'll just take more time since you have less crystals to work with. Save up crystals, prioritize new releases (valk and weapon together. otherwise, skip)

• meta wise this is probably not recommended. Spending event should be more of a bonus and not a goal. Nothing new or major is in the spending event shop. Rather everything in the shop is considerably old and niche.
• check pins for recommendations on spending event

and then use the aniversary selector to get a cool S rank as well

• most of the valks in that box are farmable from war treasury shop
• we do have a pin covering this. check that out if you haven't yet
• if the box has affix selectors, then you may value holding on to it until you reach high in the meta (very long term and marginal but potentially significant gain)

• no not really. None of the S ranks you're talking about here are relevant (is 50 pulls referring to the dorm supply? or is starter manual referring to jade knight in training shop?)

for older valks you can check foundry, exchange shop, reserve works
but this is questionable

it overall doesn't seem like you understand the overall structure of the game's meta. You may want to ask more about this before proceeding with any decision and reconsider your personal goals (doesn't have to be meta if it's not for you)

you may not need to resort to this depending on what you already have, but at worst those are barebone teams we suggest working towards and using cheaply (don't spend any important materials on them. Don't spend crystals, honkai shards, source prisms)

and from there you would work with the best subpar stuff you have the best you can, until you save up enoughto afford a new valk and weapon together.

• Sig weapons are often very important for personal damage (every new valk are multipurpose as both dps and support nowadays depending on how you put them in the team), and also sometimes important utility/features.

Just to add on to what Zuri have already said

• FWS kiana is the main support mei wants but also not the end of the world if you don't get her. Other supports that matches Mei's ring type can still come close (FDD coralie is valid to consider as well)
  • for an existing (not new) account, going after FWS/FDD is more questionable. Metawise you want to spend your crystals only on new releases and almost never on reruns to get full long term mileage. However next patch ||doesn't seem to have anything new for supporting Mei as a dps, so trying to go long term will involve having an awkward mei team for many many weeks. Mei will support the next patch's new release though.|| I do think it's fair to take a slightly inefficient but more short term fulfilling route if mei dps is your goal. But be mindful of the worst case costs too (carnival does not carry pity over once it expires).
• Senadina will be ||free next patch but not her weapon. The weapon will be added to reserve work bp shop but I do not recommend pursuing it at this point||
• while i do agree meta wise, you may consider restarting (check pins for more details), i do think it's very fair to not restart if you don't want to #👶beginner-help message

maybe i should say these next few points sooner, but there's two main topics of changes i stress to returnees

1. gacha has changed a bit. Stigs are now craftable. Weapon is the only gacha exclusive gear and comes out in 60 pulls at worst. There are other changes too but equipment banner is the main one.

2. team building is very different now. Back in the old days we build around damage types (1 lightning dps and 2 lightning supports... or maybe 3 physical supports buffing each other)

nowadays

• any support buffs pretty much any kind of damage type.
• while we still have the 1 dps and 2 support format, the leader is basically the dps now
• every new valk can operate as a dps or as a support depending on how they are placed as said above
• instead of damage types, teams are put together based on ring types and tags

However beware that JDS hasn't really seen notable use as a dps lately. I can't recommend JDS dps nowadays if you don't already have her (maybe you're getting her from spending event?).

i don't really recognize lantern as a notable support tbh aside from hitcount utility.

nowadays rita and hle elysia are the main WoD supports if rita isn't leader. Rita brings the new surplus mechanic, and ely just has stronger effects overall afaik

either coralie have the tag that lets them activate your leader skill (which no other ring type do) even if they don't match. leader skills can have some important effects so this is still nice

but if they don't match then they provide less support effects and don't bolster the gimmick of your ring type at all

for a wheel team, they rely on calling phantoms for attacks/increasing your special meter for a limited duration. Having a matching support increases this duration

otherwise you call a phantom of your own dps that's kinda weaker in benefits (shorter rondo duration mainly)

but gameplay wise a wheel leader only needs one long rondo and one short rondo to get the full duration of the outburst

tuning turns the weapon into a dkey that gives you bonuses in the divine key page but you can't get fodder of the weapon (which you shouldn't)
and as i said u need to tune to get the priarm of this weapon

rather than focusing on a particular good way, i encourage you to review and get as much as reasonably possible

Story is a nice concentrated place to focus on but keep in mind it's permanent content and you can always get its crystals later. Mainly prioritize it if you're short on time for an expiring banner

Otherwise consider prioritizing the sources in my spreadsheet of the second link. Those are time limited/expirable sources.

teri only provides buffs for when loa is active, the only thing that benefits her from the 2 heavenly shift is +16 initial ari

dreamseeker gives +10 dmg taken by enemies, +12 tdmg
i assume dreamseeker would be better based on what qtexxeract said

Yeah dreamseeker gives better ARC and SO damage here

so the only reason to use teri would be if the timing lined up exactly to let you get off a second SO or somthing

and even then it would be hard to justify
