Depends on account details. Personally I would reccomend knight if you aren’t in a hurry, since Luna will enter the reserve works in a few patches most likely and then she’s significantly cheaper to get with krystallum than in the box. And Knight also gives a lot of crystals and some mats. But if you want Luna now box is a significantly better way to do it

keep in mind we have carnival reruns coming up. I don't recommend spending crystals or pull tickets there but we do get 20 free pulls that might land you something there if you're lucky. Don't count on it ultimately.

and every gacha valk tends to have multiple tags so down the line you can pick up a symbiosis along the way hopefully rather than looking for a rerun

Unless you are spending a lot of money. I would generally recommend not spending anymore. You should get FWS stigs when you have the prisms left over. Note that it does nothing without all three as most of bonuses are at the 3 pc.

generally speaking if you're not aiming for high RL/nirvana/top leaderboard placements, or specific strats/match ups then any symbiosis will be sufficient.

HoHE isn't really a top regarded symbiosis support but she's quite decent for other grail users. I would imagine similar for Mei.

You can consider going for FDD from carnival. Best advise is to only spend free pulls but if you wanted something else to pull for and had 70 pulls available it wouldn’t be the worst choice

Especially if you were in a hurry for meta performance

Don’t do it unless you have a large pull stockpile tho because carnival banner is short and any pity that doesn’t get the valk is wasted

HI3 is a game full of skewed scenarios so data against a neutral dummy only goes so far, and damage isn't everything either

last question, so from what I see HoHe seems decent as support, would the comp Xentinel mei + HoHe DK and stigs + rebirth with only new stigs work? how does rebirth compare with and without DK as a supp? is the DK just giving her the symbiosis tag and that's it or does it actually provide good support? or is it just for her to be a DPS?

any astral ring valk can be used as a dps or a support depending on how they slot into the team. Leader is now dps. Non leader are now supports

You seem really fixated on HoRb but I actually think meta wise in the long term you should cut your loss and get symbiosis from some future new release instead. Meta is not everything though. If you really like HoRb specifically you can keep her in consideration.

Granted with the possibility of going for an extended period without new additions, going for a rerun can be an arguable call as QT mentioned to someone else earlier depending on your preferences (assuming you can afford the guarantee especially in the case of carnival). However HoRb still doesn't fall into this unless her rerun actually shows up.
In your case you should focus only on getting Mei's weapon first before anything else though.

HoRb with new stigs only and no weapon does not work. The weapon is what grants Astral Ring properties which is what the stigs depend on. Read through the descriptions there.

HoRb as a support I loosely think of as fast in animations but not so great team damage wise unless you have 3 copies of her weapon (whales only really) for synergy 3. How this translates to specific scenarios may still vary.

Yes as a baseline f2p players can get new valk + weapon and skip once every 4th to sixth patch depending on luck.

it's still roughly one full valk and weapon every 2 patches at worst, but with average luck you can go multiple patches before needing to skip.

Ofc missing a weapon is really bad, and getting a weapon late means missing some cycles of their meta emphasis (so you're not making full mileage of your pulls).

I generally recommend planning around full guarantees at the start of the patch (or trying to luck on valk pulls while staying above 17k/60pulls. So you can guarantee weapon if you get valk early)

Dkeys are valid for being a cheap way to get an astral ring unit if you're very lacking in certain tags.

They also provide +10 atk to the whole account each (or +5 per additional dupe) which can matter in the high meta of the game.

However because they are granted to older valks, veterans and higher competition will expect to have them well ranked which matters for their own dps scenarios.

Also because of their cheaper cost, their dps scenarios historically do not seem to run as long as compared to a full new gacha valk release.

average luck is more like 22-30k or something

Let's take mei as an example here, her Astral ring type/specialisation is Grail of Infinitude, now if she's the leader you want supports that have the corresponding astral ring attribute/tag. For GoI this would be symbioses.
now when we look at your valks only hle and badum have that tag so they would be the supports for your mei.

Since mei herself also has 3 Astral ring attributes she can also support 3 Astral ring specialisation, her tags are Heavenly shift, symbioses and Domain resonance. Meaning she can support DPSs with the Astral ring specialisation Law of Ascension, Grail of Infinitude and World Start.

but hi3 does have stronger emphasis on the meta because later in the game, you compete against other players for high scores rather than seeking for a general threshold to clear

for most f2p intents and purposes though, the main recommendation to keep up with the meta is

• save crystals to roll for new valks and their respective weapon together when they are released.
• If you cannot afford them fully, then skip and focus on the next patch instead. With average luck you only need to skip once every few patches.
• stay away from reruns. F2p income cannot justify them metawise

Strictly from a rewards perspective part 1 story, especially from before chapter 25 actually gives more crystals for the time invested if that is what you are aiming for.

the units were old even for that time. And the requirement iirc was like 60+ days returnee (which means you had to have left from before the announcement). You lose too much crystals from regular play during that time.
And no I haven't seen it happen since that ver (7.0 was more than 2 years ago)

Triggering returnee first time takes 15 days (but no returnee banner) and even then its a net loss in crystals. After that it's 60 days each time

p1 equipment banners also had offrates so there was a chance you could get a weapon or stigmata unrelated to what you were trying to get

This "skill sharing" feature is still a thing, but considering valkyries with this awakening feature are so old, you don't need to look too deep into it unless you're curious

I probably wouldn't get Sonque then. She doesn't give you any really notable utility. Not as a support (for WOD you have HLE Vita, for LOA you have XDC Sparkle Vita Luna), you have plenty of SD valks for SD stages, and her only realy dps use case is physical alien guard

where you'd probably be fine with XDC Badum HLE anyway

I'd look into any divine keys you don't have in reserve works tbh

Hmm. Then I think the options I would suggest are either grab Thelema + wep, for some decently notable WOD support use cases and a lot of SS MA uses, or save for someone impactful if you expect to buy bp in the future. For instance we expect to see Schicksal's Imperitive and Vita in the shop soon

simp would get you a quantum valkyrie, which is entirely new coverage

whereas Vita ranks / sync noticably help her support cases

that's very normal. Everybody suffers from that time loss equally. Some valks can make opportunity of such times and prepare some things ahead of time.

A short fight can be considered poor even if it scores 800

while a long fight can be considered done well even if it scores 600

Btw you telling me you do rotations properly is already a red flag. While the loose idea of it exists, strict exact same rotations don't truly exists at a high level in HI3.

Every cycle we swap across the team is slightly different because we are trying to best fit our damage and animations to the boss' hp bar, which is constantly changing across non simple amounts

This is also why helping can be come very detailed. Because no two accounts are truly the same and getting a best run on both takes its own kind of dedicated work.

but in MA the timer can be slowed down by additional mechanics like time fracture or suspended animations

You gain 1 ARI (or more depending on the valk) per evading an enemy attack perfectly
