Astral Ring and Specializations

Allow me to explain, Captain!

Characters under the Astral Ring System will have one ring type (Specialization), and one or multiple tags (Attributes) that will determine how they can form teams. This system is only activated if a Character with Astral Ring is set as the leader. When activated:

• the leader's ring type will decide the team's playstyle.
• the team will benefit from effects (e.g., Stigmata buffs) that require Astral Ring.
• the team will gain access to Stellar Outburst, a high damage output state you can enter after charging enough energy (Astral Ring Intensity).

Sparkle buffs are completely passive, but you still want to swap to her every 15s for the team playstyle benefits. Her ultimate can let you force swap to someone else while restoring sp and reducing ult cooldown (so use this on durandal)

Songque buffs by QTE hitting something. Her hold attack can force an SD enemy to change phase once per hp bar. Do it to get rid of a late diamond in their hp ideally.

Drum Kiana

• buffs by QTE hitting or holding attack hitting.
• You don't really need to use her hold weapon attack as a support.
• tapping weapon does a quicker drum attack. Mainly do this once per SD enemy hp bar and to gather any shards on field
• Mainly use the full bar weapon attack if she's the leader dps.

Helia mainly buffs by QTE or ultimate hitting

Finality kiana buffs by casting weapon active. This doesn't need to hit (making it hit makes it slightly stronger but this prob isn't worth it)

yeah in the future please try to plan this much more ahead of time

thelema supports as long as herself or the leader hits something, but she has a further effect on her ultimate. So just swap her in to ult, do some attacks while 3s timestop is happening (maybe hold weapon to freeze as long as she has stacks above her hp) then swap off.

newest elysia (not herrscher) supports with QTE or weapon active hitting. Alot of her attacks also can freeze

Freezing is important for the boss (hephaestus)'s gimmick

senadina buffs for wheel teams are completely passive and you can view it above your hp. It refreshes after starting and ending outburst

hopefully some of that helps. Again these aren't proper explanations but might be enough to get the job done

oh and starting an outburst generally refreshes most effects too

it's basically multiplayer there so you can't really speed up losing to get out sooner

trying to win keeps you in and prolongs it

i guess you can just sell your entire party so you can make it easier to lose

but even losing everything, it can still take maybe 7+ rounds to deplete your hp

you do need to progress a bit before multiplayer is unlocked too

if you haven't unlocked it yet, then you need to clear stages while beating CPUs

i quit around round 5 and it counted actually

dawei card is going to be a more personal call with how coveted it is. Back in p1 it would be viable to snipe a dupe when the meta calls for it (e.g. aladdin) but that's not really the case anymore

if you've been keeping up with signature weapons for the valks you have, then you can leave eqiupment out. Unlike p1, p2 doesn't leave much room for valks using different stuff.

i still do not have a LoA unit too would it be more worth to expand that way

FWS/fdd/me worked pretty well for me, just make sure to end P1 with either Rita shift or her Qte -> WA so that she has her full CA bar, then Eva -> WA on repeat for the first had until it's gone and clear the second hat with her ca

if you're coming in with nothing, you'll prob just skip her.

If you really want her, then try pulling on valk banner while staying above 17k crystals. That way, if you get lucky on valk early, you can guarantee weaopn

the thing about the p2 astral ring system is that no valk works alone. They depend on each other to make their ring types and tags match

so you will eventually need multiple things to make them work but there's enough flexibility that you don't really need anything too specific for general use

you can check the first link here for all valks of a particular ring type or tag

so in this case, go to the tags tab and then look to the right for symbiosis

any two valks there can work

although do note Mei mainly prefers FWS Kiana and FDD Coralie, but if you have to use anyone else it doesn't matter too much until high meta

they at least get the same tag that matches with their ring type. Any further tag they may have has no predictable logic afaik

So that's why a team of three of the same ring type works

because they always have the tag for themselves

yeah so RoO valks have the omniscient star tag. This specific tag is special from the others. Thy still activate leader skills when non matching things normally don't. However this benefit is only partial overall since they still don't help with the central gimmick of your ring type.

well QT's explanation is prob easier to read than mine lol

anyway there's still something else to consider. We will get 20 free carnival tickets next patch for a rerun valk including FDD and FWS (there's others but those are the main considerations if you don't have them yet)

the odds are still low but it's a chance nonetheless

you're not recommended to spend further actual crystals on those banners

and as long as you keep up with the game and pick up more future valks, you'll prob wander into some symbiosis tag eventually. Alot of solid team building in p2 is more about quantity and not any specifics

(there are still cases where specific valks can matter though)

those are RoO but not symbiosis so you'll get the partial benefits (leader skill activation) mentioned earlier

you should be able to get them every alternative patch at worst

It also depends on the Valkyrie. For instance HLE has a jump point at one Symbiosis support whereas Mei has two smaller jump point say 3/3 leader and then 3/3 symbiosis

even if you have to take sinful crystals, at least get something. Abyss crystals is still notable compared to everything else

180 crystals per cycle at forbidden. So 360 crystals per week as long as you get at least a point. edit: you prob need to score 15k actually

well maybe mei can fix that if you get enough for her. She is physical

but if you do miss her, abyss is all about cycling across various specific scenarios

in the grand scheme of things it's more about covering varous situations from expanding your roster

so missing mei means you can save up for someone else

the main issues are if you were to neglect the game completely and miss crystals, or if you were to try to roll when you shouldn't and wind up with reruns that don't last as long or pick up a valk without her weapon (or vice versa)

I have HoS but never attempted to build her. I heard people say building a part1 valk is not worth it anymore so I kind of squirm all the way around physical environments

yeah p1 is too old to build highly now. We did have a p1 weather recently (dominance aponia with hare dps) but that's just for people who already have that stuff ready

you only need to pay for a weapon rather than a full valk

like you really don't need sparkle to retain RL

on the last fire tona, people used FDD dps

• their transition removes one
• your own valk removes one
• so you need to wait out one more attack sequence for the last one

but this was back when the norm is for p1 valks to only give you one collapse

p2 qua valks can bring two collapses quickly each

SO you'll want to be running sparkle dps

Sparkle is the leader. Then what you do is you go out to your supports and set their buffs

for vita, that means summoning the mech, doing attacks to charge bar, doing combo and then ult

for hle, that means WA ult usually

and then you go out to Sparkle, dps until those buffs are almost gone (25sec) and then go back to the supports to set up buffs again

If stellar outburst is ready, you can also activate that, which will automatically refill the buffs

... for ice abyss sparkle dps is probably bricked enough that you run HLE Vita VBM. In that case, vita buffs are the same, but VBM buffs come from WA WA Jump attack WA, the attack wa has to connect (you will notice if the hammer slams into the ground multiple times instead of bouncing back up)

so for instance if it's a fire weather quantum boss, you want a fire quantum battlesuit (sparkle) or someone who is one of those if you don't have sparkle (like badum or Simp)

for you most of the time you want sparkle because she's the one who has a full team

but if it's an ice weather that's HLE up and sparkle down so you might want to use HLE dps instead, especially if it's ice weather sd enemy

Getting 'unlucky' on weapons is expected:

• Stigmata Rates are much higher than Weapon Rates.
  • 4★ Weapon Rate: 2.487%
  • 4★ Stigmata Rate: 14.586%
• What you see is what you get! There is no more "offrate" 4★ Equipment.
• You need duplicate stigmata anyway to salvage for Source Prisms to upgrade Part 2 Stigmata. If you got weapon early in every banner then you'd have a Source Prism Shortage.

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

Okay. So

• Before battle, turn VBM QTE off
• Start of battle, switch to VBM. Click weapon active twice.
• Just before the boss spawns in, click jump, basic attack, and then weapon active in a row. This should result in her hitting the boss for damage and then the hammer slamming into the ground several times; if it bounces off instead, you messed up. You should also see an orange circle with the number 3 inside it above your HP
• Then you QTE Luna, Ult, and then QTE Mei.
• DPS for about 25 seconds (stop when the orange circle looks almost gone, but before it does)
• Switch to Valkyrie Blastmetal, Jump attack wA again (you get to skip the first two weapon actives because it’s still at 3 stacks. If you take too long and the buff expires, you’d need to do them again)
• QTE Luna, Ult,
• Back to Mei

When stellar outburst is ready, you can click that; it also refreshes buffs

In stellar outburst, you’ll want to fill up your bar with ults, combo, and then click WA to end it early (unless you have Chenxue, in which case you go out to Luna to refresh SP and then back to Mei again)
