abyss: general term for qmanifold (below level 80) and superstring (level 81+ aka you’ve broken through)
each week there will be 2 reruns of abysses with a different boss + weather
im just gonna mention superstring bc qmani is super basic
abyss ranks (level 81+) currently consists of:
forbidden (easiest and lowest rank so it gives the least amt of crystals, its impossible for you to demote in this rank even if you’re using some random 2019 0/4 valk)—> sinful 1->3 then agony 1->3 then redlotus (commonly called rl, its the best rank for the average player to dwell in since its not that hard and the xtals income is good)—> nirvana (highest abyss rank so obv its the hardest, however it literally gives 20 more crystals compared to rl)
and then there’s myriad, its not a rank in itself, it’s basically a leaderboard for the top 100 highest scoring players in the server (the 3 main servers that most captains here play in are eu, na and sea), this is how you make more crystals and make nirvana (nirv) actually worth the effort, being in t100+ gives crystals, t50+ gives more xtals (i dont remember abt the exact amt and t10+ so i wont mention it)

abyss (qmani and superstring) have a thing called disturbance, the higher the disturbance, the more dmg + hp the bosses + mobs have (usually you care abt hp bc its almost impossible for a modern valk to die with all the iframes they have), hoyo says disturbance go up or down based on the performance of the server but there are instances of the server performing very well but the dist goes down anyways so you cant be 100% sure

KEYNOTE: abyss is one of the main RENEWABLE crystal sources so be sure to to do abyss even if you’re not sure you can clear it

Her ring type lets her slot into any astral ring team for qualifying for any ring type leader skill. Helia by contrast can only qualify for world star. Coralie as a result is more universal even if she's not as beneficial as gacha only options

As teammate said, the buffs and debuff effects coralie can provide are total damage which works for any damage type.

btw i did make an HSR/HI3 relation there but i honestly advise you to stay away from HSR logic for hi3. There can be some similarities but hi3 is a much older game with much greater differences, which can lead to common mistakes that can be punishing/costly

basically you're trying to pick supports with tags that matches the ring type of the leader

but that might still be confusing to understand until we talk about some examples

sparkle's ring type is world star. This is a playstyle that involves generating marks to trigger and pop for large damage.

When looking for supports to help sparkle as a leader dps, the tag that matches with world star is called domain resonance

alot of people may think they just need to match 3 world star valks into a team but this isn't truly correct. Alot of valks can still have domain resonance without having that world star ring type

to put it more simply

look at the leader's ring type

pick out two supports with tags that matches that ring type

yeah so VBm can detonate the marks that sparkle puts down, although beware she is prob one of the weakest options since she's farmable.

If you really want to focus on the more current usually best options then look out for
FWS (Kiana)
LP (Vita)
HoFi (Kiana, but needs additional gacha only divine/stellar key). Prob the least considerable for a fresh player. This valk is quite old and not as available anymore

but also beware just like how HSR has specific bonuses and situations to benefit stuff like FUA, DoT, etc, HI3 has many specific scenarios that may call for less general and more specific supports too

and generally speaking, for most intents and purposes you can do decent enough as long as the ring type and tags matches and the valks are gacha only. While some are better than others, the difference may not be that great

it's not really a matter of endgame. It's a matter of making sure you have enough, and if you don't to make sure you prioritize what you want to ensure getting

although meta wise you would want to prioritize newer releases than any reruns

this is because the competitive scenarios early on in the patch will focus on the new release, so you'll mileage more that way
