double check your honkai impact 3 game folder (should have a bh3.exe in it) for any files similar to BH3_v8.1.0_d950a68ed449.7z_tmp (ending in a tmp and starting with BH3_v) and delete those. but your game is 17 GB bigger than the fresh full install size for pc.

if you dont have any of those tmp files then you can either reinstall the game from fresh to clear out any leftover data or go into the game and go to ai chan phone > resources and remove unused voice packs and old chapter stuff

ah thats because the launcher downloads the entire base game and then overwrites existing files with the new ones, even if they're duplicates, it doesnt actually increase the size by 20GB. the difference between 8.0 and 8.1 is roughly 1.5GB after everythings updated

opening the one on the left skips opening hoyoplay, so hoyoplay wont be open to check for updates so if you delete the shortcut on the right you will need to still open hoyoplay from your start menu and go to hi3 to have it update whenever theres a launcher update

sort of, you'd want to keep it in its own folder, and not spread all around your F: drive, so once its finished it should all still be highlighted you can ctrl-x to cut the files and make a new folder for it all

the "password" (device lock) option is an optional setting that you have to manually enable on your profile that will only be use for locking your items as a security measure
if you don't remember it, you can disable it on the same screen where you enable it, but you have to wait a couple of days

I did observe it previously readjusting some settings on prior updates. However this particular update seemed to have introduced dead buttons on my controller, where no matter what actions I set, it doesn't respond. The action works fine if i set it to another button. The strange thing is the dead nature is specific to selective scenarios. My RT button is dead in combat while my right face button is dead in menus.

My controller setup is a bit eccentric. I'm playing on a DS3 with old drivers that makes my pc recognize it as an xbox controller I believe

yeah i know what ADS means, now that im more awake i had forgotten about fischel doing that too xD but i do know the lowered sensitivity is by design and theres no setting for that, but its supposed to try to get the camera to initially lock on like you've noticed sometimes, i was going to check if theres anything to improve the odds of that happening or if there isnt and you just gotta try to be facing the enemies before going into that mode

ok so testing over, theres no setting that affects that sensitivity, and also nothing that affects the lock on chance, but for every character that has an aiming mode, its supposed to lock on the enemy that is locked on outside of aiming mode, if t here is no enemy locked on (like you have free camera lock on set for instance and havent attacked to lock on something) then it wont but the sensitivity changes a lot depending on if you're not aiming on a thing vs not. it kinda gets "sticky" when locked onto an enemy and really slows down the sensitivity while you're locked onto an enemy and it takes some effort to unstick it. but in general it is less overall but the camera outside of aiming mode does need to be locked onto an enemy in the first place so if your camera lock on isnt set to auto then its hit or miss if you're actually locked onto an enemy before entering aiming mode

Although unrelated but i was having an issue with closing the game and needing to end the process (heard it's been a common issue) with reinstalling being a possible fix. It didn't fix it for me

ah then yeah it was broken game stuff then, glad thats working for you now! and yeah that has been a sort of common issue, well idk about common but a few dozen have had it over the last few patches but its also not affecting everyone so theres that. what fixed it for one person was reinstalling the game and also updating their graphic drivers, but they said customer support had a long list of possible fixes so i'd recommend contacting them

you could always contact customer support over it, its gotten better as newer characters release but considering thats been how that mode works in general since the genshin collab im not sure they'll prioritize it for the few people that turn auto camera lock on off, with auto unless you're facing the complete opposite direction as the enemy its pretty reliable for locking on

also i have one more unrelated issue. Whenever i hold movement on my controller, sometimes the camera would also move along with it

it mainly happens at the start of a fight before the enemy spawns in, but it's also been happening in the chibi lobby

its almost guaranteed a connection issue with hoyoverse servers then corrupting the 20GB download its doing, though it could be an antivirus messing with the download to. what i'd recommend is first double checking your antivirus has an exception for hoyoplay and running hoyoplay as administrator (or just turning AV off) and then following the manual update steps below but dont use the hoyoverse mirror, pick a different one since the hoyoverse mirror is the one the launcher uses

by default a lot of phones dont have a built in AV like pc's do. theres the usual built in browser security but typically unless the brand puts it in their phones android does not by default come with an AV

if you look at the download file type, .7z then google that file type you will see what program is used to extract those, hi3 uses that same program. and yes if you extract the base game yourself you can open it and update in game and use it without a launcher, but you would need to manually update it yourself every time

if you're all the way finished updating and in the game and stuff you can go to ai chan phone > resources and delete old stuff, you can also check your game installation folder to see if theres any .tmp patch files in the same folder with bh3.exe but if you've cleared everything out and theres no patch files the only option at that point is to reinstall the game to clear out old event data thats in the files and stuff

you can recover an account as long that you know the UID, (if the one on the image is the one you try to recover, delete the img)
you have to contact CS via email #how-to-contact-cs tell them your issue, and they will send you a form you need to fill with some info to confirm you are the real owner, after they check everything is fine the account can be recovered with the steps they send you

the chances of getting infected by just visiting a site on android is really small, is higher if the site downloaded something (like an apk) and you accepted the download and you choose to run it.
but still the problem of HI3 going slower is just because of your tablet, using other apps will give less resources to other apps, and because your device is already below min specs, any less resources will have a heavy impact on the performance of the game

just a restart will free resources and the game should run "better" that when you had more apps running in the background

Did anybody else notice Elysia bad animation performance since this patch? I have Elysia in Peachy Spring outfit with old main weapon (Domain of Ego). From what I saw in MA (second boss), when you call ULT second time during battle, Elysia's stingray become laggy (most important that there is no FPS drop during animation lag) and if you finish battle while ULT is active you will see picture-in-picture of domain and finalization screen together.

Yep, except for the VPN workaround, I contacted in-game CS yesterday and tried their suggested workaround, rebooting phone & repairing game asset included, but it didn't work. However, I used a different phone to complete that event, and it runs just fine, so I suppose it's no longer an issue for me.

I'm just asking for future reference in case something similar happens again. What if switching phones no longer resolves the problem for me... that sort of thing.

I gotcha, next time it happens try the VPN thing. the reason we suggest it is that at certain points of the stage (like when they are defeated and it tries to go to the victory screen and communicate to the server that you beat that stage) if theres a connection issue of any kind it can freeze up

but of course it could still just be a bug in the game code and all that so if you havent already, let customer support know that what they suggested didnt work so they can look into it further

I solved it. the issue on my part was overlays, specifically overlays with the app overwolf (i use it for its applications). turning overwolf overlay off from its settings solved the issue. probably overlays like discord or another app cause this issue

that problem with that the file mention on the error could be a couple of things.
if you still have the same exact error:

• close the game and go to the path show on the error
• check that you have both Version.txt and AUDIO_Default_Version.txt files on the folder
  • if you have both, open Version.txt and delete the line with "audio_default.pck ###..." and save
  • if you don't have both delete the Version.txt file
• Open the game and finish the install

It's probably the way Iqoo did the split screen mode that doesn't go well with the force resize settings. Something that works better on Samsung's implementation

The only other way I know of getting it to work is if you were to install a custom android rom where it does work. If that's a huge dealbreaker for you, look around on sites like XDA for any popular custom roms that support your phone model.

Just be aware that installing these usually voids your warranty and makes many banking apps not work without workarounds.

The advantages are plenty however, mostly a close to stock android experience with only really necessary apps installed. On roms like LineageOS for example you can even freely choose to include Google Apps or not.
