im thinking you have a different map selected than chapter 5's 
ok testing done, no matter what i try, deleting everything from resources, then deleting the cache makes the game redownload about 400MB of random video files and 50 or so of audio files from like 9 different chapters, but not the 217MB you have.
if you dont wanna risk downloading anything then i'd email customer support #how-to-contact-cs and let them know the game is asking you this, literally every time you open it because all of the solutions I know involve downloading at least a little bit apparently even though they literally shouldn't, so maybe they'll know something that doesnt involve downloading more

if you are on pc most likely your download got corrupted and that is why is redownloading the file, if that is the case you can try to manually download the file with the steps in here #🔌technical-help message
on mobile that error should not happen but i saw sometimes on android that the game starting incorrectly and asking to download again, but a simple restart should fix it

my mate has the option to change between Europe and America but i dont have an option to change at all what soever
SEA client only has teh SEA server, same with JP, KR, CN, etc they all only have their own server on it.
GLB is the only client with both NA and EU servers on it, its unique like that

no you can use the same hoyoverse account. hoyoverse accounts can have one game account per server. in theory you could have like 7 hi3 accounts on one hoyoverse account if you have all the different regions installed

if you used to to have the option to change servers but no longer do, then you used to have the global version installed, but now have the SEA version isntalled
your only option to get the global version of the game installed instead of the SEA is to uninstall the SEA version, change your apple accounts location (or make a new one) and install the GLB versino of the game (the app store will call it honkai impact 3rd instead of the SEA's Honkai impact 3)

all that changed was making a new character/save
most old games were like that, the main reason hi3 is like that compmared to other hoyoverse games is because when hi3 came out the company was like 1000x times smaller so it only released in CN, then later on JP, and so on. stuff like ZZZ or genshin and stuff released everywhere at the same time so they could have it all be switchable. but a lot of older games or games that are on the app store that release in different regions at different times are all like how hi3 is tbh
thats why the different servers are on different installations of the game is all, it released in different regions at different times (global was initially almost a year or 2 behind CN iirc)

you wanted me to write an essay those take a while plus im at work
So the cause of the issue could be several things, but what is most likely causing it is those drive issues your F drive is having that you keep scanning and fixing. those are trying to fix your hard drive itself. So basically any files you put on your F drive has a chance to fail/corrupt. The reason I asked if you had enough room on your C: for HI3 is because I was going to suggest simply reinstalling it on your C drive which should work ok to play with instead of working on fixing the one you have on your F drive.
If you want to fix the one on your F drive then while this isnt guaranteed to work it usually is what fixes it:

open the game and wait till you get the error message again, then click check details and take a picture, then close the game.

Go to the folder in the error message from step 1 (like this one that Iho sent you earlier) the folder is probably going to be F:\Honkai impact 3rd\Honkai impact 3rd glb\Games\BH3 Data\StreamingAssets\Asb\pc\ but double check.

try to find the file in the error message from step 1 (the file name color in iho's picture) and delete it.

Open the game and see if you get the error message again (you probably will tbh) and then click check details again and take a new picture because the file will almost guaranteed be different, then go to the folder and delete it.
Repeat steps 1-4 as many times as it takes or until the file in the error message starts being the same, i think the record was like 17 times or so so keep that in mind. if it doesnt work theres other things we can try but this is what the usual fix is
and at some point in the future, have someone take a look at your F drive, it may be failing and the F drive specifically could die at some point (hopefully not too soon)

but yeah, your F drive is having problems. easiest fix is to install it on not your F drive

depends, if you take your computer to a place typically they will offer to like clone it over to the new hard drive. if you do it yourself then you wouldnt be doing that for yourself and would need to reinstall everything installed on there + any files that are on there would need to be backed up before disconnecting your old drive
think of it like a box, your current F drive is old (maybe, idk), has some holes, is having problems so you buy a new box. if you go to a computer shop and have them clone your drive then the employees there will "move" everything from your old box to a new box for you. if you do it all yourself then you are responsible for moving everything over from the old box to the new box

i searched it on quick acess in the f file in the c file in desktop
everywhere it says couldnt find
click on start, type "file" click on file explorer
on the left side of file explorer, go to this pc, double click on F drive
double click your way into folders to find the right folder
so check in every one of the folders?
the reason quick access isnt finding that is because BH3 Data\StreamingAssets\Asb\pc\ is not a file. its a folder

Then it's probably a combination of files making up 217, and maybe some are video files so they wouldn't be in the audio folder

honestly at this point i'd contact customer support and see if theres a way they know of that doesnt require downloading anything more. deleting the regedit (or more specifically this key) #🔌technical-help message resets your download preference between basic and full which in theory will fix this, but when i tested some stuff was redownloaded no matter what but the stuff it redownloaded at least showed up in the resources menu
yeah that screen is showing is the combined size of the download, + if is just one file it will be a little difficult to find on windows because of the MiB and MB difference

try the full repair, the quick one is nowhere near as comprehensive so it probably missesd some, but the cause of the issue is an unstable network connection is corrupting your files so you may have to download/repair a few times
iirc the old control panel lets you do that still? try going to start > type "control panel" and select the control panel, change the "view by" to icons and go to programs and features and when you go to select an app and uninstall i think it'll work even if all the files are gone

go to GENERAL_DATA_V2_PersonalGraphicsSetting and there you can change it to whatever number you want.

i think i somehow corrupted my Honkai files (it looks wierd bc its image translated)
the error is 8002-206-0, "failed to verify downloaded game files. tap the main button to try downloading again". is there any way to fix this? I already tried downloading the update apart from the launcher using the google drive link provided (HI3 V8.0 manual download), GLB, but this seems to not have done anything.
yeah its corrupted, you an try using the full repair option with collapse launcher from the pins if you cant redownload the files, but otherwise reinstalling should fix it

if you did that and it didnt help, i'd recommend if you have the internet for it then try downloading it from a different mirror and using an internet download manager (IDM) to download it for better reliablility while downloading, oh and also make sure hoyoplay is running as admin
but the verification failed message 99% of the time means your download was corrupted due to a network instability so you just gotta download it again
i remember deleting the TMP (V8), but it seems there is a V7 one i didnt notice earlier. ill delete it and retry the download using the google drive link again, as that one in the files still seems to be just the way it was when i copied it there in the first place
i have cabled wifi which i pretty much completely stable, so i probably dont think it is that. ive updated the game with worse wifi before with none of such issues
the thing is though is that the download verification fail only means one thing. that the update file its trying to verify is corrupted and while there is more than one thing that can corrupt a file, the vast majority of the time it is due to the network connection to where you're downloading the file specifically (aka you likely wouldnt notice any other wifi related issues) is/was unstable enough to corrupt it. It could be failing sectors on your hard drive too though, running a chkdsk on the hard drive that you're downloading the file on as well as where your hi3 installation is should be able to check for that and try to repair it. and also make sure hoyoplay is running as admin too

i didnt extract the HB3 file i downloaded either, i put it in that HB3 folder in the game files. maybe i just misplaced it?

The steps are for updating through the launcher, there why they mention stuff like close the launcher.
The file itself though is the full base game. Hi3 launcher update is just the entire base game that replaces your existing files. So you could unzip it to a new folder and have a working base game version (minus some cg and audio downloads)

It could but since the issue is likely a corrupted download, I can't guarantee redownloading everything won't have any non corrupted files again. But u can try if you want

for the in game download? not much sadly, you can try things like restarting your device and the download will pick up where it left off and maybe the game was just glitching, or you can try a VPN that helps sometimes too (the pins have 2 good free VPN's that sometimes help with connection problems like this)

the automatic identification has to be implemented by the game developer themselves; it essentially works by having the game program itself contact your discord desktop app and says “hey, report this game in the user’s rich presence!”

It's only very slightly out of date, pretty much only with the available login methods because PC has Google Play now but follow the steps in it. If your account is on a hoyoverse account then you'll get an error message and the guide will explain what to do at that point but you'll have your UID by then so that's all the info you need at that point. I gotta get some sleep but just follow the guide and it should help

The main thing I'll say that I need to update the guide on, is if your account happens to be already linked to a hoyoverse account just simply email customer support and explain that you haven't played in a while and that you can't remember the hoyoverse it's linked to and give them your UID and they'll reply with something like "it's linked to az*****@gmail.com" or something like that
They didn't do that back then much but they do now so it's by far the easiest method now a days of you happen to be in that specific situation

Hi! So I have a question, I’m a Returnee. I had an account a few years ago linked to my Facebook. It’s level 63. And everytime I try to “revive” the account it keeps telling me there was a linking error and says a level 8 account is activated in its place.. I just want my account back, is there any way to fix this?
if you play with your account on any moment after mid 2022, your account is already link to HYV, so the account retrieval option is not going to work. You can contact cs to help you remembering the account where you link it #how-to-contact-cs
if you don't remember link it, you have to follow the steps here #🔌technical-help message (keep in mind, is recommended to start again with really old accounts/low lvl ones, unless you have something you cant get anymore (like the eva collab))
unfortunately for what you mention, the HYV account you try to use already has one (the lvl 8 one), could be that you started the game some time ago without linking your old one, and because there is already data on it, your only option if you still want to get the old one will be to create a new HYV account so you can link it
if you really want to link it to that specific HYV account, you still can try to talk to CS and see if they can help you "unlink" that low level one, but you need to remember stuff about it (like date/device/country of creation, etc.)

Did you try the vpn option? Most of the time that problem is just your ISP getting a bad routing to the server and with vpn you can force a new one

but typically its easiest if your on Glb to (if you havent yet of course) just switch servers to the EU server which will make a new account if you havent made one on their before either on purpose or on accident

Will just change the fps cap, but that obviously will be more heavy on your device.
Depending of your specs/settings, could be better a lower cap so you dont have issues like throttling, crashes, high temps, etc. But the best option is test yourself and find your ideal graphic config.

if you're copying it from your email, make sure to not do that since sometimes it copies a blank space aftewards which messes it up. but if you are manually typing it in and its still saying that then contact customer support #how-to-contact-cs since the only thing i can think of that would be causing it on your end is accidentally getting a blank space at the beginning or end usually from copying

I can't shut down HI3 on the PC without killing the process. Did something change in the last two updates?
It's always freezing when I try to shut down, and I end up having to kill the process.
yeah it seems like some people are having that since about a month ago or so, could be the game but it could also be the windows update that happened around that time which had some issues but for now please report it to customer support #how-to-contact-cs and unless they have a fix you'll have to keep killing the process for now

if you go to ai chan phone > resources it will let you delete audio and cg stuff for specific story arcs so you can go through that list and delete all the resources for stuff you have completed. but if you've done all of it then you can delete all of it, maybe leave the latest one since that part 2 story arc isnt finished yet but otherwise you can delete the rest it sounds like

you can, if theres any other login method linked to your hoyoverse account you can just login with that way. if you're not sure then on your phone when you open the game go to your profile and then user center in the account menu. if you dont have it on iphone anymore then you can go to account.hoyoverse.com and login with your apple account there. but once you do get to the user center, just make sure that you have like an email address and password linked to it and you can use that to log in on pc
oh and you cant use hoyoverse accounts with steam, so you'll need to use the hoyoplay launcher version

I was on "everything that rises must fall" chapter and that is the last chapter of last patch
if you didn't finish a chapter, you can select it on the story/chapters screens, before you click to enter to the chapter you will see a button below that will let you choose on which one you want to continue, once you finish all the story that button will disappear
most likely that means you have the "gadget inventory" full from the first chapters of part 2, after you clear some space it should let you enter the event

probably is most likely your device doesn't meet the min specs, something that could be difficult to find on stuff like roblox because the "launcher" can run on almost everything, but for each games that are made inside will ask for more and different specs, and most of the huawei matepad SoCs are not good for heavy work loads.
Still your best option is to contact their CS, this channel is for HI3 problems not other games 
tbh they always let you enter the last chapter when there is an event on there, but now is a problem because of the "open world" type of chapters is more difficult to choose where you want to go before you enter if you are not up to date.
Still, you can send feedback about this issue on the survey they release at the end of each version
Okay I have confirmed that I'm having download issues with my router that are only Honkai 3rd related. Using the BetterHI3Launcher with the BP Network mirror gives me normal download speeds. Ingame downloads do have the same problem of unnaturally slow downloads, both before and after logging in. Connecting a VPN (I use Mullvad) does work, even while using the same DNS Servers that I also use without it so I don't think it's those are the problem (Quad 9's regular IPv4 and IPv6 addresses). Since this is my own mobile router, I wanna know if there's any other known settings I can try to change. Would really love to have normal download speeds even without a VPN.
Also, I've tried this on multiple PCs and mobile, both with LAN and 5G WiFi. The problem happened in all of these cases.
nothing more you can do on your end sadly since the issue isnt with a setting or anything on your devices the issue is that your ISP is routing your connection to hi3 servers through a bunch of middle man connections and one or more of those in the middle is what is causing the issue, that is why using a VPN works because it "starts" your connection in a totally different geographical area so it gets routed differently though a route that is not having issues (more of an explanation + visual in this message #🔌technical-help message )
if this has not been going on for longer than a couple of weeks, these things do usually fix themselves after a few days to a few weeks but if its been longer than that the only thing you can really do to fix it without using a VPN is to complain to your ISP and have them investigate it

Tried all 3 APNs with Data Roaming on and off and Auto-select network too. No changes, one of them went for 1MB/s a bit for Chapter 1-9 Video Resources ingame, but quickly went down the drain afterwards

im using a surface pro 11 (didnt buy this for games anyways) so this might be a speccial case?
I dont think that will run it. its running laptop OS (windows) so it'll run the pc version of hi3 but it has mobile cpu and gpu in it. its possible it might run the game, but theres no info on what qualcomm adreno gpu it has so no guarantees since the weaker/older ones just dont run the mobile version of the game, and the pc version has no testing on that gpu that im aware of

Best you can do is try it out for yourself. If all else fails including very low settings, you can even run the game on lower resolution with fullscreen still enabled which usually provides the most noticeable performance boost. This isn't an option in the normal Hoyoplay launcher, but BetterHI3launcher for example has that option and there are also launch parameter options to turn down such settings before you even log in. (Here's my practice example on a very extreme case: #🎮honkai-chat message)
So either way, I can say with confidence that you'll at least get the game to run.
there is no difference on the OS from the "main one" apart that because of the SoC architecture for most stuff will use a "translation layer" and that can cause some issues
at least on what a friend test, HYV games work but can randomly crash, still was able to play every game kinda 30 fps avg on low settings on an SD X Elite (X1E-84... iirc)
but there are others problems too, like they will randomly stop working unless the device was restarted or the game reinstalled, and the other one is that we don't know if the anticheat could generate a false positive because is running with the translation layer
mhmm its piping everything through a translator layer to regular windows with an unknown snapdragon cpu xD but yeah if it did run on that surface pro 11 it would definitely have some issues.
and thats a good point, the anticheat might get confused by it
tbh most of the "basic" stuff that come in windows is running natively on arm, but its windows, most people that use it, already have games or program that don't have an arm ver. available 
the main problem imo for the arm on windows devices is the hidden info about the SoC for the consumer
iirc for the x series there are 8 models, 4 for the Plus and 4 for the Elite
and most manufactures only tell you on their site/specs "has a SD X Plus" but not which model 
mhmm this is the part that made me say no guarantees, because without actually knowing which x series one it is performance could vary wildly xD

if its asking for UID then the number you'd use is the ID number, the Linked! number is your hoyoverse account id that your hi3 account is linked to

the minimum installation size is in total 25 GB on mobile
but you can delete future chapter stuff to. the game will just ask you to redownload it when you go to enter the chapter if you're missing resources for it

launcher shouldnt affect anything since they just manage installing/updating the game. technically you dont even need a launcher at all to install the game. but i use both on the same installation

well speaking from past experience with issues i reported
weird, every time i've reported issues to them they've normally done some basic/common troubleshooting and then routed it to the dev team/higher tier helpdesk ( if the basic troubleshooting didnt work) to look at which is what they mean when they say that they're sending the report off to another team
if you want you can try to run a DISM in case is just some system file having some problem, but for the best results better do an "offline" one imo, in my case that problematic update didn't do anything for honkai but kill my OS
so i had to repair it, and yet i still have some issues, in my case the only one i have is that some programs will randomly "hang" when tab out from them, and i have to move between windows if i dont want it to crash the program

help, im getting this error on pc. Core isolation is off and no antivirus is activated
double check that you do not have any non standard process monitoring software like processmon or anything like that running and restart your computer, if that doesnt help then contact customer support #how-to-contact-cs since they can find out what that error code is referring to
also if you play something like valorant then make sure its closed and its anticheat process isnt running since that can sometimes fight with hi3's anticheat
I see it on my PC as of 1.5 updates ago. I can kill the process immediately after quitting & freezing by right-clicking TWICE, selecting kill/stop the process each time. Good luck!
Just in case, other thing that can cause the error is having the UAC disabled

I've figured it out, you can just make the text completely transparent
<color=#ABCDEF00>random symbol</color>
(Only the last 2 digits of the code control opacity, the rest is the color itself in hex RGB)
I didnt know it allowed transparent HTML color code thats neat 
might want to delete that picture since it has your UID
but if you can log into the game, its ai chan phone > login emblem. otherwise you'll have to remember what patch you started, like what valk was new or what story chapter was new and use the hi3 wiki to find out the release date of that version
if you cant login and cant remember, you'll just have to use your best guess
as a side note, while you should try to be as accurate as possible on this form, if it gets rejected then you can always try again and try to be more accurate than before
so as far as I can remember it was like some weeks after the release of the marvel like trailer of the ending of part 1

but for most users that come here before, most of the time is just another anticheat running in the background
the UAC is just a new info i read
, is not recommended to have it disable and most people just use windows as default so that info just for some rare cases, like if a user is using a "custom OS" or manually go and disable the setting

mhmm it is nice, if you are worried about that you can make sure you write down your UID, when you started and if you remember write down what device you created your account on and keep any recipts from puchases and that'll pretty much guarantee a no hassle account recovery if you do ever get it stolen

you shouldnt have to, if the launcher does not detect the installation, the Find Games on the bottom right will show
if the Find Games did not show, you can click the 3 lines (hamburger) icon at the bottom right and click Relocate Game to manually find the location

Hello, playing on pc and during Ch 21 and ch22 cutscenes voice lines seem to cut off without me even pressing anything at all. Are cutscenes just broken in these chapters or is it my game? Like it feels like cutscenes going too fast or something idk
Doesn't happen during like vn/adv parts of story, but when cutscene fully rendered in 3d in-game in these two chapters so far

Yeah those cutscenes should have audio. Try restarting your PC and at the login screen press the red repair icon in the bottom left and check assets and if that doesn't fix it then contact customer support so they can provide you with good copies #how-to-contact-cs

for either of those, you can try restarting your device and at the login screen click the red repair icon in the bottom left and check assets, if you're on pc run the repair in the launcher too. if that doesnt help though then let me know if you're on pc or mobile

i gotcha, your phone has enough raw power to not have any issues, so barring something new in the update being incompatible with your xclipse gpu it sounds like a broken update. if possible i'd totally uninstall and reinstall the game, if that doesnt fix it or if you dont have the internet to redownload all that i'd contact customer support to see if theres any issues with your device and the update #how-to-contact-cs

So, I just got a new phone and downloaded honkai in it. Everything runs smootly, but there's this annoying message that says: "Connection failed. Try again later.". I can still play the game normally and it just happens at main screen, I guess. I have a stable internet connection and even chat works normally. Does someone know what could it be?

Shouldn't there be like special props that are used by the models? like I'm sure wielded weapons are separately in the game files. Perhaps you'll have to keep searching, but it's probably smarter to look first whether those are also part of the freely available models.

You can do it by adding launch parameters behind the executable (or adding them in your launcher under something like "Game command" or "Custom parameters") From what I know there are 3 for fullscreen, window width and height.
-screen-fullscreen 0 -screen-width 1280 -screen-height 720 for example, would run the game in 1280x720 resolution in windowed mode. Feel free to experiment. Just keep in mind that some window managers might have issues with understanding the fullscreen parameter if you set it to 1.
Also keep in mind that the game will just ignore your resolution if it's not supported at all and might fall back to native.
Those that are supported with full certainty are every available windowed resolution in the graphics options, even in fullscreen
Doing this over registry edits also seems less prone to error. There's actually multiple entries that are related to resolution and the binary/hex data editor from regedit is terrible

For some reason the opening cutscene for the current event is corrupted/broken for me and freezes every time after Kiana falls to the ground(?). I've already tried a lot of things (reinstalling the game, downloading all the resources again, deleting the 8.0 resources specifically, checking the assets at the login screen). I've also reached out to cs and asked for a file replacement which unfortunately didn't work either. Are there maybe any other things I could try? Thanks for the help in advance.
only thing i can think of since theres clearly no issues with the game files (unless your network is corrupting the downloads, so try the file CS sent you one more time) is to use DDU https://www.wagnardsoft.com/display-driver-uninstaller-DDU- to cleanly uninstall your graphics drivers completely and then reinstall them to the latest version available.
and if you havent yet, tell CS that it didnt work, maybe they have other stuff to try that i havent thought of

its np, you can try reinstalling your graphic drivers might work, its just DDU cleanly uninstalls them, typically the official graphic uninstallers leaves behind a fair bit of junk behind when it uninstalls which can make the reinstalling work in the idea of having a working graphics card and all that, but not fix an issue. you can try it anyways though its never a bad thing to occasionally reinstall your graphic drivers. but with DDU you can just to the typical/normal options for everything. its just very comprehensive so it can work with pretty much any graphic card in existance, not just the mainstream ones so some of the options sound scary but its up to you
but yes reinstalling without DDU can maybe help, its just that if the issue is being caused by your graphics drivers then doing it without DDU lessens the chance of it working to fix your specific issue. but thats a big if since im not sure if the graphic drivers are the problem
Yeah, makes sense. Nvidia/Amd uninstallers are a bit quirky unfortunately.
I've also had this issue in the cg in chapter 22, 7 where it just freezes mid fight, so there might be a possibility that it's a driver issue

Okay, so I got the nvidia cleanup tool to remove any drivers and nvidia software that I had and reinstalled the latest driver via the nvidia app. It still freezes though unfortunately

well when they send stuff up to a higher teir team, it generally takes a lot longer to hear back since its much smaller, the normal stuff isnt working so its not a quick and easy investigation or anything into the issue. i'd say give it a few business days at least but if it comes down to it i'd still recommend skipping just that one and the rest should be fine, as you pointed out a chapter 27 cg was freezing (that one actually happens fairly often and getting a new one from CS fixes it every time) but none of the others did so hopefully the rest of the event ones will be fine
Yeah I thought so. I am quite patient but I just wanted to make sure, since they also said that they'll close the ticket if they don't get an answer from me. So I just sent another message just to make sure. But yeah, stuff like that always happens to me, I'm kind of used to it. I'll just wait until Wednesday or Thursday and see what happens. If nothing, then I can always just skip it. The other cutscene that keeps freezing is the anime cg of chapter 22. It just stops working half way through, however I never sent them a ticket regarding that since I could just watch it on YouTube back then thankfully.

got it so its not remembering your login info for auto login. if you're on pc try clearing your cache (keep in mind this will reset all of your settings to default)
