He downloaded the HoyoPlay launcher, installed HI3 but whenever he tries to launch it, it just closes and goes back to the launcher

I'm here for a question of my own btw:

So I had some trouble with BDO crashing, I fixed this by disabling shader cache in Nvidia control panel but unfortunately this is a global setting.

While this fixes my crashing on BDO, it makes Hi3 start to stutter like crazy and I have to close literally everything I have running to change it back to the driver default.

Do any of you guys know a way to get the shader cache option to appear as a program setting rather than a global setting?

I have developer options on and its still not there

its just very annoying to have to close everything to swap one setting and open it all again just to make one of the games work

• He could try using one of the custom launchers in this pin #🔌technical-help message but they're mainly for Hi3 I think I'm not really familiar with collapse launcher
• he could try a manual download of hi3 also in that pin, I'm not much help at all when it comes to other hoyo games since I don't play them.

sound like the problems is a broken shader for BDO, when you disable the option you are just making the game compiling the shaders with issues on each run because the game doesnt know where to save those ones, and is not an individual option now because games can select where to save the shader data instead of only using the gpu folder, last AMD drivers doesn't have the option for the same reason, so that setting is mostly for "old" games

you could try to run the game until it crash, then disable the cache size option, go to the nvidia folder that is on "locallow" iirc and delete the files (the folder was something like perdrivers...), do a restart, enable the settings and try again

the only place I can consistently get it to crash is a specific 1 of 4 of our weekly guild boss and I can't just have 30+ people waiting on me to mess with settings lol so I guess I'll stick to swapping it

are you playing with high settings? when i played the game 2016 iirc the game had problems with too many particles on screen, then when i came back on ~2020 the issue was not fix yet, could be that you are getting that issue when generating the shaders for the particles?

check if they still have the option to disable particles, that was the only way i could do stuff where many users played without the game having a stroke, in my case with particles didn't crash all of the time, but on the others runs the game stopped for like 10-30 sec.

not true, you can use twitter, but could be 2 things causing the issue, your browser or if twitter change something on the api
the best solution is to add another login info to the account and use that to login
go to https://account.hoyoverse.com/passport/index.html#/login via incognito, login with twitter, once you are in the account, add another login info, email/password is the best option, once you confirm, go to the game and login with that instead of the 3rd party login

ok, thats weird though it should be asking to replace or skip moving the video files since basically the whole CN thing is just taking the CN cg files and renaming them to the same as yours so it'll replace any existing files that are named the same

first thing that helps is try running the red repair icon at the login screen and then after thats done whether or not it fixes anything restart your device

tbh i've never seen that before but if you run the uninstall.exe file in the launcher folder you can uncheck the "delete game resources" box and that will just uninstall the launcher, you can then redownload and reinstall the launcher and if its installed in the same place it should in theory not have to redownload anything

that just means the server doesnt think its your usual device, could be a few reasons but to get it to let you salvage you just have to spend some stamina every day on that device for around 5-7 days and it'll become your usual device

the cg's are on a different sound channel than the story dialogue but if even totally uninstalling and reinstalling the game doesnt help anything and its affecting all cg's regardless of how new/old they are i'd first try running the red repair icon at the login menu and restarting your device and then when that probably doesnt work i'd maybe try reinstalling your audio drivers and/or contacting customer support #how-to-contact-cs

though do keep in mind that the download cg can frequently have slight bugs since it downloaded and then is running while your computer is downloading/installing the game at max possible speed so check some other new ones after you get in

also keep in mind to check some of the part 2 cg's since they're the newest, some of the pre 5.8 cg's got pretty compressed during the conversion to .usm so their quality can be hit or miss

Most likely they got access to your Gmail and never left. Did you change your Gmail password and also log your Google account out of all logged in devices in the Google account settings immediately after changing the password?

And do you have 2fa setup for your Google login?

When you say they're all good did you do that log out of all devices thing I mentioned? But there's other ways they could be getting in, let me find the thing that mentions all the stuff to do to make yourself hack free. And yes you can recover it, email customer support and explain your issue and provide them with your uid #how-to-contact-cs has their email addresses.

Oh and when you do get your account back it goes without saying change your hoyoverse password but keep in mind that to change the email an account is linked to you have to use a verification email code sent to the current email so the odds that they are getting access to your Gmail is very high

Don't download files offering free items / fps boost
Don't click links and putting your information there
Don't share account
Do link email and phone number for 2FA activation

Additional Note:
When using Hoyoverse on Web browser clear cookies after using them or just use incognito so that cookies used will be auto deleted (This is just for extra safety measures)
Do not save passwords on your browser it's better if you write it down or a password manager

hello i have a problem that does not allow me to keep playing the game

I am stuck at level 19 but to keep playing the story to unlock other stuff i need level 20 but i heard i should have a starter book that gives exp which you can see i do not have

and the acc was created yesterday

unfortunately that just means that the account was not created yesterday. you might have started playing yesterday but the "account" gets created the moment and the starter book timer starts counting down you log into the login screen with the hoyoverse account even if you dont enter the game fully and start the tutorial. weird i know but thats how it works so you most likely accidentally logged in at some point in the past with that hoyoverse account. if you're on NA you could try the EU server without needing to reinstall the game or making a new hoyoverse account to see if that makes a real new account, just gotta change the server at the login screen and since theres no co-op in this game then ping quite frankly does not matter or affect anything, being on EU would only affect the times things open from your perspective like the weekly Elysian Realm for instance that doesnt open till like 5 hours after the daily reset iirc

no you misunderstand, for the first couple of years (like 8 years ago or so) when it was by far the most advanced mobile game out there it was like that, a lot of RPG style mobile games were like that at the time. they've made it 1000x better since then with the starter manual making the early part much much much faster but i understand the frustration i really do, its just simply that the account was in fact created a while ago so the starter event has ended for that account. your options are only either make a new account, or keep using that one. though i did look through the beginner help i saw you have this unlocked, those give exp iirc once they reset tomorrow you can do those for a lot more than 7 exp

but as far as your question on how to delete the account, the game account is bound to your hoyoverse account and cant be individually removed from it (anti hacker measure since a lot of people in the early genshin days got their genshin accounts stolen and traded) so your only option is to either ask customer support to do it for you (they dont normally do it but have done it sometimes for people) or delete the whole hoyoverse account

hoyoverse accounts are basically just login profiles with game accounts linked to them but they arent the same thing as in game account itself. think of it like a box that holds the cubes that are game accounts. you can delete the box but the game accounts still remain, just not in any box (aka not linked to any hoyoverse and therefore inaccessible basically forevermore) . I think even if they "delete" an in game account all they do is unlink it from the hoyoverse account its linked to

So the in game nickname is not the same as a username. The username cannot be changed for instance but the in game nickname can be changed 3 times a day if you wanted. I'd check on the account retrieval screen for other things like the Google account login or Apple Id if you were on mobile

that is for the full asset installation, the basic assets basically doesnt install all of the story stages/cg's/etc and if you go to enter a stage where your device doesnt have the resources it'll download just that chapters resources so you could realistically get by with around 28-29 i think if you just did story. but yeah its pretty beefy

ah that would have been old game bug, its not a problem anymore unless there is a bug again with the audio specifially but tapping the red repair icon at the login screen is supposed to repair all corrupted assets (including bugged audio) which is most likely what the full download did, it redownloaded the bad audio files, or you might have accidentally clicked cancel on download extra resources idk, but if you try the basic asset install i hope it doesnt happen again

mhmm as long as you tap download extra resource when entering a stage it in theory should not be missing any assets for that chapter unless the download got corrupted or something if that makes sense, so yeah if it happens again, just double check the resources tab to make sure its downloaded, run the red repair tool and maybe restart your device and that fixes 99% of audio problems

one thing you can try while i type out how to change it manually is you can put it in window mode, then restart your device and open the game again and sometimes that'll get the option to show up.

in general though there is two options for doing custom resolutions. both of the custom launchers in the first pin which are ok to use (no bans or anything) have the ability to change your resolution in the settings of the launcher

if you'd rather stay with the official hi3 launcher then you can manually do it yourself

press windows key + r and type regedit and hit enter and once you're in the registry editor go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\miHoYo\Honkai Impact 3\GENERAL_DATA_V2_ScreenSettingData and you can change the resolution there

in general i would start with the rendering accuracy setting, that has by far the most impact on your GPU usage as it determines the size of the textures on everything

if its set to max, lowering it by one or something should ease up on your gpu by quite a bit without making everything look too much different

well it is by far the most vram consumer out there so maybe setting it to 1.0 or something can help. also post fx quality is another big GPU user so you could try turning that down.

basically your GPU is running hot because its at or close to 100% utilization a lot of the time. try to keep it around 70% by lowering settings or so and it should run not "super hot"

but the biggest 3 or so graphic settings that i can thing of are rendering accuracy, post fx quality and anti aliasing so and maybe? shadow quality. i'd start with those and experiment with lowering them until your computer runs less hot

and you can "skip" the result screen if you are "clicking" the screen to fast and/or you enter a menu before can load correctly, but that screen is just to show info, the stuff is added automatically to the account if you are online at the time or on your next login

maybe check the other hoyo games registry keys? though another thing that can cause it is a slightly unstable network connection, what the game does is it looks at that registry key i mentioned in that linked message and tries to auto log in with that. if theres an issue with the registry key or it cant connect properly to the login server it'll default to asking for your login so it could in theory be a network connection or something

The short answer, mostly is gpu causing the problems, in "power" that gpu is like half of what the min specs of the game need, and other stuff can be causing issues too, like RAM bandwith is slower for that SOC, and even OS stuff/apps can cause issues too (my phone "gaming" app cause the game to run 20-30% slower)

Try holding Shift when launching the game (you might need to launch it directly from the game folder)

This will bring up the Unity config menu

If the resolution is bug out, go to the game settings, select any window resolution, restart the game, then the game should have all the available resolutions for your monitor in the game settings

If that still doesn't work you can try to edit the registry, but for a easy way to do that I recommend using a custom launcher from the first pin

The game can run in 4k just fine in the default options yeah. If you changed your monitor recently you might need to change resolution to whatever (like 1280x720 windowed) then restart it so it grabs your new monitor resolution

you can attempt to boot it up in safe mode:

turn on/restart the mac and hold the shift button until you get to the login screen. Only let it go then
once logged in, delete what you suspect is the issue. If its an update loop, you can reinstall/attempt the update in safe mode
after that restart the macbook like normal

if that doesn't work, the next option is to rewind the macbook. Macbooks have a ''time machine'' which backups gets saved/created. However if you don't have that turned on, thats no option anymore

your best bet is the safe mode, otherwise I would recommend to contact Apple about this. They might be able to help you better than we can

Okay so i have found a "solution" (forgot to enable the fps display dammit)

it is reducing my phone's screen resolution to 480p

the resulting image is horrendous

but i cant complain with a 200$ budget phone

its less blurry more pixelated ingame compared to the screenshots (the resolution is too low for FXAA/SMAA to do anything)

the issue seems to be related to Part 2 character models and since the valkyrie screen caches all the models to load them faster it lags there too

putting a part 2 character in part 1 missions also causes lag

I dont know what Part 2 models have that would be so much more expensive to render than Part 1 models but

if you have a rooted device or a computer you can lower your phone's resolution

which is what i am doing

i can drop it to 480p from my phone's base 1080p to get 30-40fps

if your phone is rooted you can just use a app from playstore

if it isnt

search online

or install "Purr" from playstore

it should have a guide

and its easier to use

Honkai doesnt use much ram

when i check my stats before and after opening the game (cache cleared beforehand)

there is only a 1.1gb ish change at most

its the same with most mobile apps

also your tablet should have a larger resolution than your phone so that matters too

i gotcha, try running the repair via the red repair icon in the bottom left of the login screen (and if on pc also run the repair in the launcher) and then restart your device before logging into the game and then let me know if that fixes it

The subs are hard coded into the video so they can only be in CN subs. Slothy is working on client language subtitles but it's a very time consuming process though so if might not get done for a while

You can find the animated shorts on their official YouTube, but for all the cutscenes I don't think there's a compilation of those, your best bet is to watch mad doctors all story no gameplay playlist of the story, iirc those have the cutscenes

(or can always go back to JP cutscenes by deleting your video folder and letting the game redownload them)

ohh i see thanks! yeah that does sound like a painful process, really wish the company would just give us the option to change our language to be honest its a bit of a shame, but at least i can now have full and original audio on the game so im happy with that, thank you all for the great work youve done i tried looking up a walkthrough its in jp but i can read the subs there at least for now

well they have starting from part 2 but that only affects cutscenes going forward, so part 2 cutscenes
