I think instead of making quetz able to pick things up, which would be really easy to abuse and really unfun for smaller dinos where its already hard to survive, they could make it so when the quetz sees a dino like a raptor or a teno, it should be able to dive down and pierce it with its beak. At the cost of some stamina so it would make the player conserve their stamina so they have stamina left to grab the body and lift off and take it away somewhere else to eat it. And make it so if the quetz misses it gets stunned and has to pull its beak out of the ground before it can fly away or anything, and make it more punishing if the quetz misses with the dive like make it take more stamina because it missed instead of if it hit the target. This cant really be abused like a pick up can, cause once the quetz picks you up its over which is really broken. Also make it so quetz can actually pick up bigger bodies and take it away, like allo size or smaller but not something too big, quetz is big and should be able to pick up big bodies and carry them away
Also make quetz beefier because the hatz vs quetz argument is tiring, dont add hatz, dont waste time and resources making a model for a beefier quetz. That is like adding a tarbosaurs which is just a rex lets be real here, hatz is just a stockier quetz, that is not a good reason to replace quetz or add hatz to the game what so ever.
Instead of wasting time adding hatz just make the quetz beefier and stockier then it normally is, the isle is mainly realistic but they also add that touch of fantasy to make the dinos unique and fun to play (at least in evrima) which is why i love this game, it is realistic but will throw in some made up stuff to make the game more fun and balanced. So I dont see a problem in fantasizing quetz's beefy and sockiness, cause there is literally no point in replacing quetz or adding hatz when they can just make the quetz beefier and tougher, it saves time, and doesnt add a quetz clone to the game.

, and many others. But most of these would never work because almost all of them have flaws that can still be easily punished. BUT, there's one thing that everyone, including myself for the longest time, has overlooked. Its shoulder blades. These blades will allow magy to protect itself from most threats(Utah, Cerato, Mono, Dilo, Troodon, Carno), but it also means that it has to face aggressive predators head - on. So this is my suggestion to fix magy - update the model to have blades along its tail, and on its neck. This would allow Magy to protect itself most threats, and would mean that it wouldn't have to look ridiculous trying to outrun an Allosaurus. Of course this wouldn't completely protect magy from threats, there are still exposed areas of skin such as the neck flap, the legs, and the underbelly, all places that can still be bitten and slashed. But this would solve Magy's problem of how it would protect itself. (And the words I drew in the picture say - "Add more spikes to tail and Neck - For Cutting bleed Damage.
