Yea but it depends when that is calculated in the process. For root chestpiece getting 50% pierce resist, that resist doesn’t cause any less stagger from a pierce attack so it doesn’t help you successfully parry, it will reduce whatever damage goes through after your parry tho

bosses don't reset. You have to spawn them in using an item (like for eikthyr using 2 deer heads), and you can do that as often and many times as you want. They stick around until killed

All mobs in the game slowly regen health. I think it's something like 100% health regenerated per hour, but they're constantly regenerating it's just a very small amount that adds up over time

More noticeable on bosses since they have such big healthbars and take a while to kill

silver sword is supposed to be the best if you have alright skill in swords

And I'd recommend some fenris armor and eikthyr power to outrun his attacks (mainly meteor). Maybe with a padded helmet

and make sure you're using plains food. Hell, if you're struggling maybe go grab some mistlands food. Just need some hares, crops, and a tiny bit of black marble

Agreed. Assuming level 33-50ish elemental magic skills level 3 staff of embers will be more than enough, plus bile bomb for extra damage to and you're set. Good luck on your perma death run

if you don't have "sheltered", you need to sit to get "resting", in which case it would acccelerate because of that buff. but if you have "sheltered", you can get "resting" even without sitting, and sitting doesn't speed up healing or resting

No. But if you are "resting" (not just rested) you do get a 200% hp regen buff which is super good

Extra movement speed. imo his attacks are fairly easily dodged but meteors can be rough if you don't have a lot of stamina or are slowed down by heavy metal armor. Fenris makes it a joke to avoid meteors and laser breath (although laser breath isn't bad anyways) and also easy to disengage if you do get low. But I'd still grab a padded helmet just so you're not super squishy.

Sometimes, yeah. Anyway, I did it but it took me like 2.5 hours in total. What a pain. Did too many wrong things in the beginning, used the wrong weapons, we burned through our potions and the high quality food, then I tried to pull it off using swamp tier food without any stamina. It worked but it wasn't fun and I died at least 4 times.

Hey guys, I made a Reddit post about this before I knew the discord was back - my wife desynced on our custom server while dying and her tombstone is MIA. I tried the google tips with her (log out/in, sleep, reset server) but no dice. Anyone have any other tips I can try? Her tombstone shows on her map, but nothing is there.

I'll admit I didn't dig too far into how to fix it, but there didn't seem to be a solution to me. Seems like the game just saves your death and the state of your character (naked, bc you died) but the server doesn't have time to register the actual tombstone dropping

Character saved(inventory lost) but world didnt(tombstone lost). You can spawn in lost items(guide linked in pins in this channel), or roll back to a previous save of the character(click manage saves when selecting character)

by default its only every 46 minutes theres a 20% chance

if you have more than 3 base structures within a certain distance of you get raid chances so any actual base

Doesn't have too much to do with the size of your base. Raids work like this: If you're at your base, every 46 minutes there is a 20% chance of your base getting raided (if you're not at your base, nothing happens every 46 minutes). You might just be getting unlucky but it shouldn't be more than once an hour if you have regular settings

You can disable raids in world modifiers in the main menu before you load up the server

Because you can change the world settings so you NEVER have raids (or less often), or you can change them so there's a 67% chacne of a raid every 14 minutes. If server is set to max raids it sounds like that's what would happen

Not really, unfortunately. It's good to go through the Crafting tab, and look at the workbench itself. I think at workbench level 5 most of what you can do is upgrades to existing items.

I've been looking up mobs damage numbers on the wiki lately and it's actually really interesting to see how hard they hit and what damage type. And then doubling it for very hard mode and trying to figure out what resistances or armor combos will help me out against them

I don't think there's a set number of totems. But technically you can get infinite of them because either shaman or fuling brute (forget which one) has a small chance of dropping the totem too, and although those enemies don't respawn naturally they are part of a raid. So technically you can get infinite totems from raids if you don't kill yag, although it's small chances

Replace leg or chest with fenris set's and now you have a pretty high armor and only 2% penalty to movement

Helms have zero movement penalty, so for max movement + armor, you want fenris legs and chest with a padded/carapace/whatever helm.

well, you're neglecting that fenris helmet has +3% movement speed. You won't be max movement speed without fenris helmet (although it's usually recommended to go without helmet as it only gives bonus movement speed, doesn't displace a negative movement speed)

Max movement speed I believe is 134% with fenris and run skill at 100

Exactly, having a network of bases with one being my ‘main’ base works really well, for me at least. Yeah, it’s a little bit of work to get copper and a good forge going, but it pays off. Something to consider regarding ore transport. Bring 10 cores and 6 copper to new mining locations. No sailing and no portal problem. Convert the ore to ingots and turn the ingots into gear. Now you can portal with new gear.

word of caution though, be careful allowing yourself to just build stuff for free. It can end up becoming addicting and you end up just spawning in stuff / allowing free building willy nilly at the slightest obstacle and then make the game less fun.

Not that one time will do that, but just seen a lot of people who can't stop once they start

I'd say a (in my opinion) better alternative would be going back to the world modifier screen, turning off free build mode, and turning up the resource modifier to get more drops when you do something

Hey guys just wondering if anyone can help. I have a dedicated server through nitrado and no matter what i do my progress or anyone else who plays wont save. Each time i log back in the game is back to where i started

Have you checked the server log, to see if there is an error message that can point you to the cause of the problem? Have you checked if the server has enough free storage? If it does, you should install some FTP program (e.g. FileZila), connect to the server with it so you can see the file structure, got to folder where saves are kept and inspect if there are any .new files that. Those will have to be deleted, and then one of the backups restored

Not every black forest has an Elder Spawn. There are typically three in the whole world. You discovered only a small part. Zoom out on your map to get a feeling for the size. Just explore a bit more and check burial chambers and ruins for runes. Maybe you have to take a boat.

regarding the antivirus... it usually should tell you, if it blocks something. if it doesnt and you still suspect it to interfere you should be able to look into its logfiles and add exceptions. but i hardly believe its a false positive by the AV bc else some more ppl would have the same problems and it would already be under investigation at the AV comp.

Hello, I am trying to play Valheim with my friends, we had no issue yesterday but today whenever we try to join we keep getting Failed to connect, we all tried to open a server and yet we kept getting the same error. How can I fix this?

I've figured it out, it's caused by "crossplay" and yet we were still able to play together using crossplay. I don't know why this happens. I need to use crossplay because couple of my friends playing in XBox Gamepass and Steam.

Gotcha. You might consider swapping the jerky for some minced meat sauce, and prioritizing finding turnips in the swamps. Otherwise that sounds reasonable... what weapons? An atgeir will let you spin and stun a group, it can help you out of hard situations, but in general you want to try to balance things so you only take on one or two at a time.

Balanced food is nice, but it has a fair bit lower total stats that it gives you as compared to the red or yellow foods.

I run the bronze sword and the buckle. sometimes use my finebow with fire arrows. I have yet to find tunips. atgeir is super slow so I usally get killed with that

Don’t rush the swamp too hard, go at a steady pace. You don’t want to aggro too many enemies at once.

The other thing is stamina management... don't run anywhere. Only run when it's very necessary, and make sure you are using poison resist potions. You made a fermenter, right?

Yeah, the swamps are a huge jump in strategy and stamina management. Always be rested as well, get out of the swamps before that bonus wears off. It will absolutely tank your stamina regen since you're already always wet.

Rain puts fires out 😉 You can parry the body slam and the leg whip with your bronze buckler, the big leg stomp is harder. It'll go down fastest to swords in general.

Yeah, they're the best arrow to use at that point, but abominations are very resistant to piercing damage, and the fire only gets one tick before it goes out. Parrying them by the surtling geysers is a power strat, but it's not useful everywhere.

Are there any strategies to find the vegevisir for Yagluth ? Ive been searching for the corresponding Stonehenge structure for a wile, went trough 9 plain biomes.. Found Stonehenges, but without the vegevisir.

The attack speed of the sword is faster than the axe, and swords don't have a multi-target hit penalty so they are more useful against groups of enemies or in corridors and such where you might hit the wall or a tree as well as the targets.

No, but they don't resist it, and it does a sphere of damage so it will go below the water level. Takes a few more shots but a stagbreaker works as well. That's why I use the secondary mace attack though, I stand on shore and just uppercut them with the mace.

The hearts will change into pink ones and when you hoover your mouse pointer over them, the option to pet and to rename them will pop up.

Taming will take about 30 minutes if you remain close enough to the boars.

When in sneak mode they may not spot you and you may be close enough for taming them.

When you say you just now got the world files from "the cloud", what cloud would that be, exactly? Steam's cloud? On your personal cloud storage somewhere else?

||I experienced it first hand yesterday, it seemed his main damage is ice so drinking ice resist should help with tanking, parrying is possible but stagger time is abit short so unless youre using a silver knife i dont think you should parry, healing potion helps, clearing out other small mobs will also be prioritized as all of them are one star and quite dangerous, theres that one ice breath attack you should try dodge roll out of it path as it does alot of damage||

I don't think smoke will go away with this type of chimney, it will just collect under that roof piece, but as your chimney is tall enough you wouldn't probably get any problems because of it

The smoke doesn’t have to go anywhere at all; it’s enough to make enough of a closed space for it above the fire source and it will simply disappear there 😼 👍

try using the mouse wheel, it rotates the element around the anchor point, and Q and E alternate their methods 😼 👍

When I equip it the game gets really buggy and unplayable. Upon removing it, everything is running as usual. Any ideas ?

Tried it, it's related to base game

I opened wisplight on other biomes. It apparently has to do with the fog clearing out as the player moves.

When placing a stable light, no issues occur

i see it being an install issue, but if your not married to using wisplight theres mods that just remove the fog mechanic, you could bypass that issue like that

Does bonemass defeat disable troll raids on player based raids? The wiki is confusing me "Events are disabled by fulfilling any of the requirements.

At least my main issue is solved considering new players we're trying to deal with greydwarf raids every 13 minutes on very hard with hardcore death while using meadows gear. Lost a couple players to the frustration of that already

greydwarfs will swim all the way around my base to my dock, there is no way they should be able to see us and become aggro towards us to encourage them to go and attack my boat, but its a constant annoyance and i have to come back and shoot at them constantly, is there a way to prevent this?

So we ended up figuring out the issue kind of dumb but it ended up being my xbox friends internet connection his Hotspot device (company provided he's a trucker) was acting like it was throttled so he swapped to his personal one and it worked just fine after almost three hours of diagnosis it ended up just being a simple connection issue goes to show you what over thinking will do to you lol

have they devised a better system for building, Workbench, Stone cutter bench, As having a base built you need these tables spread about in order to place items. Would of been better to use torches or something as to having more light than brazillion crafting benches

You can add more torches as well if you'd like. The benches only to be in place while you're building / repairing. Otherwise you can destruct them if they're a problem.

Would be better to put down a pole that has a very large radius that represents all the features of building and does not look like something needs to be out of place or destroyed or rebuilt. "Light post of various colors to represent each or all" Anything late game research rather than always the benches. So I'm harsh so they can see the not so pretty words to express how much
