If you have a bow, and fire arrows, you can handle a troll. Just a lot of running. Use the Eikthyr power, if you have beaten him.

Also, if you have trees cut down, use those as obstacles for the troll. It slows them down.

The thing about bow and arrows is that the associated skill is the one skill that gives the most advantaged to any weapon classes. A low skill bow user is really bad with them, but as the skill reaches a high level, it becomes massively more powerful. It can be used to stunlock a whole bunch of things that you wouldnt think of stun locking.

Yeah, but you have to get the skill pretty high to start doing that to creatures. Most players have a hard time even getting into the 40's.

The Crude bow is very... crude. When you can make a fine wood bow, you will be happier with the bows. 😄

i found crash boats on the showline at the edge between the meadows and forest and they gave me fine wood just need the core wood

Once i get to mountains i just use what i looted and when that runs out i make arrows with all the obsidian i mined in the meantime 😄

Depends on how many specialty arrows I have made, but wood arrows work well through the entire game.

Yeah, eventually you will have more than you will ever need, but in early game it is a struggle.

You only need to find two kind of close together. Not easy to find in every world, but in some I have even found 4.

Finding just 2 was a challenge in my current world.

When I find those, they are usually too deep to even get those. Most of us "old timers" just use our picks to make the entire area wet.

Just start digging at a low area to make it an easier process.

I have found some that were mostly wet. I still had to do some digging with my pick to ensure they always spawned in a wet area. Those I found already submerged, have been so deep I cannot see the surtlings die, only hear them.

just string together a series of geyers with portals then put a portal looping back to the first in the series at the last one--also makes it relatively easy to "extend" the sequence whenever you find another geyser--pays for itself very fast

I can only imagine what the deep north will be like. Though I feel like the plains was kind of a reprieve following the mountains, yes the mobs hit hard but its pretty damn easy to navigate and conserve stamina, just have to watch out for those tar pits.

Once you know what youre doing only trolls are going to do that much damage to your base so what you do is just lead them away, swamps onwards they arent hard to kill and theres only a couple of them. I refuse to do the earth wall thing lol.

Yeah, the long ship can last a little bit. Never tried the Karve since we had an actual Ashlands. Before I sailed the areas for days in a Karve, because it could handle the rivers.

Heck, the Karve is my preferred boat for exploration, period, because I can get it through rivers, rocky areas, etc... so much more reliably than the long boat.

Oh not at all, it adds on top of the other dmg weapon has, its a massive boost + has a chance to hop onto other enemies. Best is subjective tho, all th stones are useful in their own way 🙂

I don't like hovering around lower health because im a greatsword enjoyer, and ashlands so far has been full of gank squads

immobolizing effect could be worth on the bow but i think jade is overall the worst one from the 3

I personally have blood enchant as least favourite, and the jade is good even on melee weapons, especially on ones with fast swings like the axes 🙂
