You have to climb, but it is advisable to make your own stairs to get up and down
You can’t build in or on top of the tower, but stairs on the side are kinda mandatory to keep one sane 😅

Yeah - you gotta climb up to the top and then work your way down the stairs inside the tower

Barley isn’t essential - just kill the mobs before they can hit you if possible

Also I feel like flammability should be on by default. It makes things more fun. Leaving for a hunting trip and coming back to find your house burnt down because you built your fire a bit too close to the house is an experience every beginner should have methinks.

When possible, jumping is better than rolling. Higher difficulties increase enemy size, but the attack hitboxes are not changed so jumping is still just as effective.

Yeah I spent all last night gathering materials for a lvl 3 workbench so i could build a small base in the black forest so i would be ABLE to build a portal, walked through with my BRONZE SWORD AND ARMOR just to be told I cant go back cuz i have ore???

When I get to Swamp I just take the 10 I need to make boat and from then on I clear the entire Swamp before shipping.
Using portal to bring all non-iron mats back. Leaving the iron itself in each crypt near the entrance.

Then I do 1 run with Eikthyr buff to collect all of it into the boat and sail the hundreds back in 1 trip.

You don't need anything above a lvl 1 bench to build a portal

Sometimes they are helpful, getting black metal to your base without needing to sail it saves a lot of time, and there are other useful resources that other raids can bring in large amounts.

playing valheim blind feels basically like playing trap adventure 2, which i understand many people like but it's not really for me when you do something normal and BOOM massive punishment out of nowhere and you go like "haha devs, you got me there! ill make sure not to step on that specific rock so that lightning DOESN'T come down and instakill me and make me try to get my items back for 2 hours"

I will never understand why folks go on a rant about some game mechanics that can be changed if they do not want them. Why not let everyone have fun the way they want it and always blame the DEVs ... I never build a moat on any base, I merely have a "gardenwall" of sorts to stop mobs from walking right in my kitchen. Raids are a fun part of the game to many. If someone diislikes just turn them off - same with the difficulty the DEVs made it so it can be played in a multitude of styles if you want it harder turn it up, if you want it easier turn it down. Nobody ever said you had to play the game in a way you dislike - or even play it at all?

Haldor can be found at the edge of the map, while the Bog Witch and Hildir can be a lot closer.
Still, Haldor is (technically speaking) the first merchant you "should" find due to the Meginjord.

That's impossible. Howling Caverns spawn in Mountain areas after a certain height. Just like Frost Caves.

The mountains they're in can be surrounded by Mistlands, but they certainly won't spawn in Mistlands.
