My best guess is..................
Somewhere between now and then.
I was thinking maybe next month or this month
π
In the descriptions say last biome update tho but not last update
Better not.
I'll be buggy as hell.
I prefer the last biome to be 99,99% finished before it enters PTB. That way, the last 0,01% will be done during the PTB, which will make it a lot easier to enjoy.
Well, the last biome added is Ashlands. So that description is correct.
Scythe should be usable as a weapon
True
Can someone tell me what the difference is between hosting a normal server or a community server? Doing this directly from the ingame client
Afaik the difference is that people will see the comunity server in the in game list of servers
Aha, thank you
There may be some other differences but i personally do not know any π
how do i beat a frozen cave
One room at the time
bats are annoying
You kill everything in it and loot everything π
i saw a chest but also a deep hole enpought to die to fall damage
You can walk along the sides
There are usually steps on sides of those holes
if not then there is another way down somewhere
okey
so how do i deal with bats or do i ignore them
they keep coming from somewhere and stacking in numbers
i did shoot many down but it seems infinite
I came to kill the cultist
Wait till they fly down to you and smack them
You can block them and immediately hit them, just like you can do with Deathsquitoes.
should i use iron atgeir or mace and shield combo?
That's up to you.
Your world.
You are the sole person who decides in matters of "should."
You dont even need to block them, they do virtualy no dmg
okey then im asking for with which scenario am i more likely to make it out alive from that cave
They are equal.
Big hammer aoe for bats I think
With the one you are more used to
True, but it might give someone who's never dealt with them an edge.
After all, even many cents can make a dollar and lots of small damage will give you lots of damage.
Just press K. All bats dead. π
True true, but i feel that it might be better since you have a bigger window when to hit them when not blocking π
im dead
i got burned to crisps by an ulv and cultist
just as i went in through the banners they both attacked
so gg i cant get nmy stuff now
butt naked
So lesson: destroy the banners before getting through them.
A smart soldier (or viking) is the one that makes sure he sees everything, without being seen.
i didnt know one can destroy the banners nor see thgroiugh them
Or just smack the wall/floor to make noise so the aggro and come to you.
That works too.
I prefer to destroy the banners with a bow and flint or wooden arrows as that may give me the advantage of getting some extra range to kill things.
But as already know, there are multiple tactics in this game to get things done. And there isn't the right one, except for the one that works best for yourself.
I haven't beaten Moder in this playthrough yet but was able to get to the Ashlands and collect some of the new content that makes transporting things a little easier (I'm not sure what spoilers are allowed here). All in it took me about 2 hours to get there and retrieve the necessary items. I don't see a lot of people talking about this as a viable option for players to make the bulk of the game significantly easier, why?
I know there are options to that you can change but this is completely doable within the base parameters of the game and adds a little challenge for more experienced players.
Isn't the water supposed to destroy your boat how the flip did you get to shore so fast
guys my friend stopped playing and i want t play alone the map he has,can he transfer the map to me?
How did you even get there lol
yes
What's the best feast food?
yes
Because it is pretty much not a viable option. It is so hard to get to ashlands without the proper boat that it just isnt worth the effort. If any experienced players want to go try it then why not, but it is not an viable option to make earlier portion of the game easier.
Long boat until it breaks, then swim from spike to spike until you make it to land.
I used portals every so often on the spikes in case I died so I didn't have as far to go, and I did it naked so if I died I wouldn't lose anything too valuable
The one from your current biome.
Although there are some feasts from different biomes with the same HP / Stam amount.
I think I'm going to do it on every playthrough from now on because it's a few hours of time to save so much more time later on, and it enables me to place a base anywhere without having to worry about access to different things.
Well I guess it doesn't matter now my mathematician friend thinks we shouldn't make feast because they aren't worth it
Go for it π
feasts are nice to me mainly because they give me enough time to accomplish a raid of sorts without needing to bring food with me so the advantage is mainly inventory slots
I should mention, I did have another player do it with me so I wasn't solo. It helps with some of the aggro to have a decoy
How much fenris hair can i expect to get from a frozen cave?
It varies wildly in my experience
thats why im asking π
Did that friend take in consideration that you may loose a bit on HP or Stam, but with it being more balanced, a longer use of one "bite" and the fact that you can have 10 "bites" from one feast, it's actually very beneficially?
Especially the longer timer makes it a lot easier to use, as you don't have to eat three foods, but always have one eaten, which is very useful when the other two run out.
got 30from my first one idk if its a lot or not
Might get none, might get a stack or more, as mentioned it varies quite a lot
I can't explain anything to him because in his head he is right
Well, in that case, try for yourself and see what's working best.
I dunno which biome you're in, but you will have to have entered Swamp and found the Bog Witch as well as defeated your current biome's boss to use feasts.
So in general, the best feast is the one from the biome right below you.
How can you throw a flint spear?
Middle mouse button on pc
spear power U N L O C K E D
Spears greatest power is their hight dps, the ranged option is great tho π
throw spear at unaware lox, stun it, run up and stab stab while it is now stunlocked π
dead lox that never even had a chance to retaliate
Go to it calmly with atgeir, spin and then dont stop hitting with normal attacks, stun loop untill death π
Very handy to start over and throw a spear to a deer
Only thing better is more spears π
Much more accurate for hunting deer than crude bow.
do the host need to dowloand the mods in the server or u can instal only for your self for escample quick food hotbar
Try asking in #mods-discussion folks there will most likely know π
Feels so good catching a target on the move with spear
valheim just crashing without saving on alt tab for anyone else?
Nope, works fine for me
If you plan to make an ashlands weapon elemental is there any reason to upgrade the normal one before making it elemental?
No, even if you do you still get lvl1 elemental
Elemental weapon upgrades don't do more base damage though right?
started happening after bog witch, not really fun to play when i accidentally tab out and nothing saves
They do the same basic physical dmg + 10 elemental dmg if they do that
linux btw
Hmm theirs options here. My spine snap does more damage with Spirit than a fully upgraded ash fang I think.
That is correct, after taking into account resistances and weaknesses, fully upgraded spinesnap does 72 dmg to charred and lvl3 (current max) ashfang does 60 dmg, lvl 2 storm fang does the same as the basic one but it has the added benefit of the Chain Lightning.
Blood fang is good for a blood mage though right?
The less hp you have the more dmg it does, so i would imagine so, yeah.
Wait less hp? What if they always have lower hp?
Like they don't eat good hp foods? Is it percentage based?
Blood enchanted weapons do 0.2% more dmg for every HP the player is missing (not the percentage missing).
So no, you need lot of max hp for it to be good
So does anyone know how to get the water from the ocean to stop flooding the costal structures when it storms? Vanilla valhiem
Build higher up?
You cant
Evening gjall.
What is the deep north and why is nothing here?
it's the last biome and they're working on it right now π
It's the next upcoming biome, which is currently a placeholder location for now.
Sick I'm building home here
I recommend not doing that.
Might be unwise
Anything you explore before deep north will not be updated when deep north comes out, and your house might not be there anymore when deep north does come out
The update will very likely change terrain there so your building could very easily be in unstable height after the update and get destroyed.
Sad days it's so pretty here
True, but it would be wise to not enter further.
If you want to get the most content possible in your current world.
Can you still do the "Cart trick"? Where 1 player sits encumbered on top of the cart? My buddy keeps sliding off
It should still be possible, yeah
Question:
Has anyone been able to find Bronze arrows in the chests in the Sunken Crypts?
I do remember they were there before the Bog Witch (perhaps even the Ashlands) update, but I haven't found them anymore lately.
Right now I'm able to find the same arrows you can craft in a biome in the meadows, swamp and mountains in the chests.
Meaning: flint in meadows and black forest, iron and poison in swamp, frost, poison and obsidian in mountains.
No, only poison or iron arrows in Sunken crypts. Bronze never in any dungeons.
I've never found bronze arrows in any dungeons.
I dont think so, and i dont even think they can be found anywhere else
i swear there are bronze arrows in troll caves and in tower structures in the black forest
Nope π only flint arrows
No it is not π
even the devs know bronze arrows arent worth it
real question does anybody actually use bronze arrows
has there been any word on achievements?
is there a mod that turns lanterns into accessory equipment?
v1.0
many thanks
I just got back into playing from when it was first released, did they fix it so trenches are scalable for the mobs?
If you make them as steep as you can then yes, mobs cant get up
so just need to be much steeper than before, thank you!
yes
Is it worth my time to build a stagbreaker during the bronze age, or should I just get bronze atgier?
Get both π
why are they mutually exclusive.....dooo you like hammers or do you like atgeirs, what kind of build are you doing etc etc..
because i dont have a ton of game time and i dont want to spend time collecting resources for both
a tier difference is not huge, especially with two handed hammers
iiiii.....see....
so many mutual servers you have
Uh... this entire game is about spending time collecting resources.
So if you're averse to that...
hello sev
Hi.. Im from asia, Im looking for a 24 7 server to play:(
Look in #1024264966712340510 π
hi asatru
Having a Two-handed hammer has some cheesy utility in the game and Stagbreaker is easier to build than the next tier and has no drop in utility for those purposes
Atgier is good against groups of mobs, it's secondary is basically an AOE stagger
wow. the ashlands are easier than i thought
I have a feeling you would like ptb ashlands π they had much more enemies swarming you
is the morgen the most dangerous mob, at least alone?
Morgen or Fallen valkyrie would be the most dangerous i would say, tho that is probably dependent on each and every person who they feel is worse
nvm. i got jumped by two askvin and they're alerting literally the whole map to my precise location
Yeah, group of them can be quite dangerous π
im going for more of a melee build, so is a good idea to switch my feather cape to an askvin cloak while i'm still in my early days of the ashlands? i know i could but im not sure if i should
welcome to nerfed content π
It will give you more speed thus heavy armor looses some of its only downside, if you switch fire mead (which you should be carrying to counter the feather cape fire weakness) with ratatosk tonic, or you add it to it if you want to still be extra safe, you are suddenly runing around in heavy armor like its nothing π
how about the first man in midgard's armor?
Starred Askvin are probably the scariest thing for me to run into, personally π
Then you will be even faster and wont consume that much stamina since its basically "Eikthyr power light" + reduced attack stamina usage π
sounds like it'd go nice with a bow/ crossbow. but my skills are like 10 in both
Did you not use bow the whole game?
i mean, it was mostly for the mountains and plains, but ive died a lot of times since then
they just had such abysmal dps that it wasn't worth using them.......... because they were low level, whitch made a negative feedback loop
Well it should not be a problem to use them, skills are generally nice to have but not needed, the bow is more for dps and crossbow for sniping π
that's why i think magic users don't actually want magic but a quick long range attack. bow skill 70'll change that
Yeah bow skill is probably one of the skills that are REALLY good to have on high level π
why did the devs decide to make the crossbow unload if you put it away? it seems perfectly reasonable and more or less realistic
No idea, but it works well even with that
ya. i started gravitating to it because i used long range a lot for seeker soldiers, and they only let you see their butts for a little bit, so per shot dmg was more important to me
has mod support been added yet, or on/after 1.0?
Maybe after 1.0 i believe
Given how thoroughly and extremely people already mod the game, what would the difference be?
ease of the steam workshop
Considering there are other platforms i am not too sure that would work well
However i do not care too much as i really dont like mods π
i thought i might dabble in the ship mod. but i myself have none on
If you are looking for some mods then folks in #mods-discussion can surely help you π
π
What are some of the top foods with or without mods? stam / health / eitr
how long will it take to breed an askvin army? im thinking like, 20 askvin, just a very very broad estimate
Depends on how many you start with.
Hmm. My closest elder spawn is surrounded by a small sliver of BF, plains, swamp, and a mountain
2
Can anyone help me find out if the multiplayer is working for me or not? π
join code 375662
If that was your join code before, it's likely changed. I couldn't connect.
try this 901698
It's probably working. You are welcome to DM the password if you want me to test deeper.
y
what is the first thing for a melee build to craft with flametal? i can prob harvest ~40 from a pillar if i have any luck
First you want upgrades for black Forge and cauldron
Hello everyone. Anyone trying to play ! I'm pretty new but not new to video games
If you wanna play dm me rn
Unlike the people that are posting and not paying attention I'll start my own server ! It's called Becool server code is HHHHH seed: zy3BGP3Jz0
the first thing I would make using flametal is a set of armor then a shield
I wouldnt make weapons for a while because spinesnap and mistwalker works really well in the ashland
I have officially found the hag, pretty close to my house.
First thing you make with flametal is the cauldron upgrade simple as
oh yeah, thats also nice
yooo new player here, looking for other inexperienced players to hangout with
Is there a chat for people just looking to go on ashland expeditions? Not really looking to restart but running here solo is dangerous
Why does the male character model scrunch his shoulders in when rp walking?
He has a bad back
Watched spazzy's recent video, so it got me wondering: what are your favorite, least favorite, most overrated, and most underrated biomes?
meadows is my favorite, i hate the swamp, i would place deep north above a few biomes because its actually already way cooler than that rating he gave, especially for building.
mountains biome minus the super duper annoying terrain
For me, the worst biomes is the swamp, it's just not fun and it's really not fun to use anything but iron mace, also the
. My favorite biome is I think the mistlands, it's just so beautiful and mysterious. I think the most slept on biome is the mountains, they're really fun and I like the unique boss summoning method, and in my opinion, the most overrated biome is the plains because it's impossible to find yagluth, no fun mechanics like faction battles between deathsqitos and fulings, and very, very, very boring after you get your flax, barley, and 2 stacks of black metal.
Oh yeah, I remember lugging silver down a mountain, but I realized that instead of SSS, I can eat HHS, and just slide down the mountain like a waterslide. Very fun
The swamp does get really annoying
oh when looking for yags location, look for the stonehenges! Im guessing you might know that but just throwing it out there. They are not easy to find
plains > meadows > mistlands > ashlands > black forest > mountains > deep north > ocean > swamp
I actually turned on 1.5X resource gain just because I kept quitting in the swamps and starting a new world half a year later, now I'm debating turning it off
Plains sucks IMO, it's starving you of things to do to force you to work on your base
i also like the ashlands better than spazzy i believe...i don't remember what the points were against it? i think that gameplay wise it is the fucking peakest...minus fortresses being kinda disappointing
and being either the best or atleast second best place for a base thats fitting
Me and a friend just got done with the plains a couple days ago. Its gotten easier since I have done a number of playthroughs, but the plains can get intense really fast
I have been running all the off armors in this runthrough. Kind of sad that the plains does not have a set
He says that the ashlands have a sense of 'sameness' and one patch of land isn't very different from another
ahhhh.......wut
i don't really know how its super unique from other biomes in that regard....i don't know what tf that even means tbh π
yeah, I think the ashlands have further potential. I really hope the game grows alot. Not sure what to expect from Valheim in the far future
Hmm.... I should try a plains base, but the deathsqito spawns scare me(I wear hildir's merchandise at home)
I feel like the fortresses needed to be like 3X as big, in every metric
i mean the mountains feels the same, the swamp feels the same, the plains feels the same, the black forest feels the same, the ocean feels the same, the meadows atleast has fields and forests and the mistlands is pretty cool.....but i never had any problems with these biomes...
I wanna go up to the big tree
i feel doubtful of actually going up to yggdrasil
people talk about other dimensions, pocket subworlds of valhalla, i think the deep north is it.
Wait what??? Valheim is
's first game, and it was originally developed by only two people???? Why didn't I know this????
bro what the hell is wrong with item ids
"roundlog" instead of corewood, elder bark instead of ancient bark....some other more absurd things which took me ages to figure out
the elder is gd_king ree
The most likely explanation is the item id is the original name of the item. Then at some point before going live, the name was changed. Since it doesnβt affect normal gameplay, no need to change it.
You didn't do your research my dear Watson, that is indubitably the case.
My first melee weapon to craft would be Flametal mace. But I'd upgrade cauldron and black forge first.
I have my base on a chill plains island that is both separated from other land by a very small river and also surrounded by three other biomes and it has made for a perfect spot. If you spawn-proof around it enough you wonβt have any trouble π
id go for armor pieces and then craft weapons once i have some gems (by then its personal choice but id recommend trying out lightning berserkir axes)
mistlands > plains > ashlands > black forest > meadows > swamp > mountains
Yβall sleeping on the mountains fr
its just so barren lmao and theres barely any mats i need from there
Hello, fellow vikings!
placeholder names or changed lore that never got updated in the code variables
I think it could do with a few more additions to make coming back there more worth it but I feel like if they add too much to it it would ruin the vibes and for the point of the progression itβs in it serves its job well and gives you a permanent effect against the cold/frost
Like from mountains onward it actually makes sense to explore during the night, before that itβs way too dangerous imo
Frost caves are fun and well made dungeons tho.
true but yea shit loot.. for me, just fenris set and thats it
also the stone golem is just boring to fight + drops bad loot
i think maybe mountains just needs better loot
more use for crystals
I wish we had more fist weapons
even brass knuckles just for early game
onion soup is also a great food from the mountains
great stamina for just a single crop you can farm and nothing else to complicate it
May i ask for a recommendation of a certain mod here or not?
If only we had some online wiki or something, that would have the IDs for things...

there are alot worse
I mean, sure, it would be nice if IDs and things were bit more consistent, but apart from using commands (which is completely optional and not needed for normal playing) normal players dont really come to contact with internal IDs of things. And i can only imagine how much of a problem it would be to change stuff when the game is as developed as it is.
it's not a problem unless you cheat π
Indeed π
hopping on val after 3 years
Oh my, you have a LOT of new stuff to find and explore π
Thats sad, maybe try to save it localy this time?
not gods fault, just no gif permissions
is okay, imma sacrifice my first born to Baal rq
anyone knows what armour this is?
#screenshots message
Helmet padded i believe, legs probably too, chest piece has to be modded
is it? dammit, i wondered why i couldnt recognise it... sadly i cant see it on nexus tho π€
Try asking around #mods-discussion if anyone recognises it π
thanks will do
Maybe they play solo π
Perhaps some of them are found in here: https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1024264966712340510
i personally used to love playing online, but it started to get annoying that i was always behind cuz my play times are all over the place. i wouldnt be surprised if its the same for others
Speaking of a lot worse. Did you reply back to my bee gif with the bee gif?
You did not. Tis fine
Iβll just remember this
I have not.
Please forgive me
You had literally one job
One job lmao
Beeswax- I grew up with none of your beeswax
Beeware what you're saying here π
Youβre entitled to your wrong playthrough of valheim
You will bee forgiven
No judgement
I don't want to exploit or make new worlds, but what do you do if swamps for iron is a long way from main base? Should I make a base in swamps or sail a little away from it and just make a place to sleep the night?
I simply sail it to base, no matter how far it is
I see, that's a little tricky because the way back never seems to have the right wind direction sadly
I'm usually setting up a small base with a portal in a nearby "friendly" biome in which I store my metal.
Then portal back to home and sleep there.
Sailing is only being done when I got a boat full of iron scrap.
Make port, sail to region close to swamp, enter swamps, take iron, move to port, move to base and smelt for hours.
Yeah that seems to be the best option then. I'm just going to ensure I stock pile enough ore in that second base then for a day dedicated to just trips.
On a similar note, my sunken crypt is a little deep in and leaving my boat gets it destroyed fast, any ideas how to deal with that?
I don't dock my boat near a crypt in the first place, just because it might get destroyed.
That's why having a piece of "friendly" biome nearby is so handy.
It gives you enough time to move away from your boat so that other creatures won't attack it.
Barely anything feels as rewarding in this game as carrying home a boatload full of metals ngl
Karve feels so limiting with the 4 slots lol. Need to get that longships asap. What other things should I get first with iron?
Depends at the kind of ship you use.
Doing it with a raft with your first load of copper / tin is rewarding as you know you will have a better ship soon.
Doing it with a Karve feels a lot better, because with some luck you're able to transport 120 ores in the storage and another 30+ in your inventory. Really boosting your progress.
Doing it in a Longboat is even more satisfying, as 18 stacks of metal and 30-60 in your inventory means you're able to construct a lot of things (usually it's iron that's transported by then).
Doing it in a Drakar is similar to that of a Karve. You got a load so you know you've got enough for the time being, but it's sooooooooooo sloooooooooooooooooow.
Yeah, my swamp is border with a plains that I've heard people say not to go to yet. Need to explore the other direction but it's a big swamp from the initial survey π₯Ή
That may be tricky, but if you're able to spawn proof the area, it may benefit you as you can use both biomes to fight one another; giving you some advantage in materials.
I do this with campfires or workbenches right?
Yup
A Karve is really nice for navigating through thin rivers but that's kind of where its uses end
would totally dig a karve you can build from materials in the ashlands so navigating the spires isn't a complete pain
So how do you transport your ores / bars from the nodes you mine it at to your base if you're at a separate island?
Portal it through or use the "use other world" method?
I hopefully found a merchant already up until point and have bought the belt from them. then I just load the boat full of materials and make a trip home
usually takes multiple trips to get a sizable amount of ores that'll last you for a bit. just as a general tip, do NOT make yourself bronze armor
bronze armor eats a whole lot of materials and troll armor is not only lighter, it can be upgraded more easily and doesn't eat any of your precious metals
The relief of "holy sht the farm is FINALLY OVER"
I got lucky with my recent base. it was comparatively close to a black forest so I could just use a cart and drag stuff back and forth
Mines set up on a mountain that borders two separate Plains biomes , a swamp and a black forest
Yeah the only thing I made is q bronze helmet. Paired with troll tunic and trousers lvl 3
I don't have to run more than 10 minutes for a node
tbh I never make any metal armor in the game. it doesn't feel like there is much merit to it
the light armor makes traveling less of a chore and bosses are usually easily kited. not to mention lots of light armors come with special set effects that metal armors lack
Iron , especially if you've farmed enough is a good enough holdover until linen
ye the metal armor only has higher defense and that's kinda a bummer for me
One armor I never skimp on is flametal
makes you slower, has no set bonus, eats up the most important materials in the game
Just looks great
Flametal armor looks gorgeous, yes. but flametal also hardly has any other uses outside of making the armor, so it's not as bad
you will need loads of copper/bronze and iron throughout most of your playthrough from weapons to building
so making any armor out of either is barely worth it
silver armor is alright because that one doesn't eat important materials. I brought home one boatload of silver and didn't even use half of it the entire game
Well, considering I'd like to get myself all armor, weapons and tools for an "armory / exposition" I don't think that advise will be useful.
However, I won't be using it, so in that regards the advise is useful. π
All down to personal preference
oh ye, if you wanna do an armory that's totally fine for sure. I like to do that as well
Whenver I farm materials in any of my playthroughs it's, 10 stacks of copper , 5 stacks of tin, around 500-600 iron, around 400 silver and I just farm blackmetal gradually
it's just, metals are not that easy to come by so I'm kinda stingy with them myself, lol
the blackmetal usually just comes from being in the plains ngl
I just. Don't leave the swamps or mountains till I have a full boat
It can just be farmed easily by clearing out camps but some of them ate few and far between
I stop progressing the game for a long time roughly around iron age ngl
I start building up my base with various buildings after the first boss
I stop progressing after silver to build
because you get sconces, cultivator etc to make your base prettier
Cus then I can go into the Plains and get tar
then I stop after iron because I can now outfit my houses with rock and stone
I'm currently in the Bronze Age and my progression is already halted.
Or at least until I got a palisade wall and some watch towers up on my island base.
And I think I'm about halfway that right now.
The next building part will be done when I'm at the iron age; which will take a while.
that's usually when I start raising walls too. because by then I have all my buildings finished and can wall them in
not the most effective approach, considering trolls can already spawn before that
My hope with my current build is. When I get the trees are shaking event
The trolls either spawn on the mountain. Which is where a stone golem keeps spawning for some reason
Or they come from the direction of a fuling camp. Which, ohwell. They'll probably get distracted fighting other mobs
that's pretty fair, yeah
ngl imma be perfectly honest, I have no patience for the troll event. because they spawn when I haven't raised walls and don't have good enough gear. and i don't want them to decimate my village. so I just command kill em lol
Nah. The cheese is real
Best case is having wolf event while in plains/near goblin camp. Free food and loot.
tru
i'm looking at theese flametal crafting recipes and ngl they don't look very appealing
everything does less damage or has less armor than my gear rn
I just beat elder and trying to prepare for the base raids. Which is better? Trenches around my base or raised earth?
trenches are slightllllllllllllllllllllllly more effective, imo, but walls are a LOT more convenient.
Both, first trench, then wall
Are you using modded armor and weapons or what..?
ngl raising earth walls to protect your base feels lowkey like cheating because mobs can neither navigate those nor can they break them
level 3-4 carapace and mistwalker
Lvl 1 flametal does 2 more than lvl 3 carapace
why are trenches better, in your opinion?
Mistwalker maxes at 133 vs. Almost all enemies.
Nidhogg starts at 135.
Enemies donβt go over trenches, can attack walls, I like to go with both a trench and a wall
they can't break walls though, so it doesn't matter?
Do you mean earth walls or constructed walls
OP said earth walls
i think the trenches are better because they somtimes get the enemy stuck inside so it's a free dreydwarf farm
I'd dare say that trenches would be better. Because you can still shoot over trenches
ah I didnβt see, I go with trench and constructed wall cause it looks nicer
oh yea, that's also really convenient
waiting for irongate to introduce drawbridges next
Trenches are also less stone intensive
X for Doubt.
I mean you even gain stone from making it
absolutey doubt
If they can figure out drawbridges that would be such a dope update
I imagine they would be buggy but I mean itβs not like enemy ai and carts arenβt
Pretty sure them figuring out dope would be the dope update.
But idk if they want to lean into drugs.
ngl I've never built big bridges. I have a hard time figuring out how to do that
Berserkir mead?
What about it?
I mean isnβt the idea you are tripping on toadstools
thatβs the impression I got anyway
Well, historically vikings are known of using some kind of shrooms for their berserk so probably the idea is that.
you can make a sort of drawbridge using doors
imagine how terrifying that is. not only do u have someone trying to kill you, but you cant effectively communicate with them because they are tripping so hard
Ashlands: Axe v Sword - Discuss? lol
for harder difficulties, id say sword such as the 2h is better because with axes you gotta land combos, which leaves you open to get attacked. with sword like slayer, you can just jump in and quickly do huge power attack and then back off
Sorry if I butted in
nooooo my first ashlands death
dual axes are a LOT of fun tho and if you're playing on normal id prolly go for axes
Yeah Im finding the parrying isnt so effective with the Axe - I love the animations but the new Ashlands Shield is great for parrying
Rip. But was it fun
ya axes are def less defensive
Yes they are fun for weaker creatures in Ashlands but 1*s+ are risky
how are you meant to fight fallen valkeries?
Bow/crossbow or magic
also check this axe fader speedkill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MO4oibhe_Ho&ab_channel=ThreadMenace
Yeah what Asatru said
so that's why i'm having trouble meleeing it down
Of course it's Thread
Its not fun wailing with your Axes and the Valkyrie is just belly laughing
you can jump attack it, just when it has tried to claw at you
Yeah jumping works
when it flies up spam with bow
hes awesome π―
I suppose spears could take down a valk
ya
Oh my deja vu with the spear - havent used once since Silver Spear....
Yea Thread is good. One of the few yt creators Im subbed
Good call on the Spear Nutty
Spear solves all problems.
I just used to lose mine in the grass
Spear is my main. Ive had my learning curve with the spear. Yeeted spears that needed recovering
They are cheap to make so another plus
I use crossbow/spear combo usually.
Cheap?
Define expense in a game with infinite resources.
Efficient cost compared to others
two others id recommend is scales https://www.youtube.com/@Scales1364 (bosskiller tryhard) and henrik https://www.youtube.com/@henrik9658 (general tryhard)
Probably meant cheap in regard of metals.
I meant my Silver one - Silver at the time was finite - prolly different now with fishing rewards
Silver has never been finite.
No worries.
Yeah thats what I meant - less metals
New Ashlands spears are π§βπ³ π
I'll make one as I do miss fighting with one
Oh I found a Samo(?) last night. Was a good watch. Henrik is good too. I'm familiar with Scales.
whats a samo
Both Scales and Henrik are also quite active in this server.
How are materials infinite if nodes and dungeons don't reset
Effectively? By having thousands more than you could possibly use.
Literally? World-hopping.
I'd like to know that too
Ohhh but then with world hopping dont you need to do whole PT again to get to Flamemetal etc?
No? Because you retain all your recipe knowledge. You can simply hop into the new world with boat materials, build it, and sail south.
I guess you could rush the PT^ as youd have better gear
Ahhhh ok cool
That's fair with solo play. Multiplayer servers are interesting for certain materials. World hopping is a cheese many would vote against
And once you're there, you don't have to sail anymore, because every time you hop back over you will be right were you were previously.
Reason #236 I won't do multiplayer:
Votes don't matter π There is nothing to stop players from world hopping and bringing shit back over.
I was tempted to either world hop OR increase resources but I really like having the vanilla experience
Playing with people you trust π
Then see the "Effectively" definition of infinite resources.
True. Comes down to the integrity of who you choose to play with.
I trust my barber.
Yeah gotcha
if someones ignores your rules, ban 'em
There's also mods that some admins employ to watch dog some of these things.
Mods π€’
I won't argue given the channel we are in. But they offer a background utility that doesn't effect gameplay. Allowing for vanilla play and no shenanigans
Qol mods π
That's a very subjective line.
and it's a single player game π
People are free to ruin it at their leisure, true.
Perspective mate. You trust your barber but love splitting hairs. I don't think your barber trusts you lol
The barber comment was a Spider-man reference....
Yes and I turned it into ammo for banter. Witty gen X things in play.
π
yes i'm ruining the true valheim experience by stopping wood from rotting and spending hours pressing a button to make coal and smelt ore π
Thanks for the insight!
np
from my perspective, on harder diff. its most effective parry and than 1 h weapon, since you do double damage this way
prob is they do too much dmg on very hard, so u cant parry. dont rly remember hard, can u parry a morgen attack on hard?
you can parry almost everything no star even on very hard, with proper food, block skill and armor
yes just run 3x hp food, full heavy armor and have no stamina π surely that won't end out poorly
What was the small patch that just went out?
Steam doing steam things
hm ima try HHS, fllametal and do like 60 block skill and try
HHS works, yes. would suggest harnesk in ash
π€ Harnesk has nothing to do with blocking, tbf
not with blocking, but incoming damage
I do believe blocking is the first thing thats counted
Serpent Shield comes out like a bandit on VH difficulty tbh.
i dont do math in games, i do can i do this or that? i have enough math in work π
prob is also parrying is very precise sometimes and some enemies like lox/asksvin bite does dmg but their animation isnt matched with it
meaning, you receive dmg and then the bite animation comes
Tower shields
Blocking sheet does the math for you π
lox is one of the creatures i would test it on, especially with equal shield of the biom
yea i just trid on 1star asksvin
sadly missed the parry and got 1tapped
welp 1tapped again
def didnt miss this time
i said no star enemies π
lemme try and find a morgen
lol, i was fighting charred warriors, and i couldn't get the timing for them, so i learned that i can just spam m2 and parry
there's more starred enemies on vh so if the strategy fails on starred enemies it's not good
u can parry morgen bite but u get staggered
not that much morgans or valkyries
parry unsuccessful vs 1 star warrior
all kind of twitchers works, archer till 1 star, no star warriors, that still count as most of the population
If going to previous biomes, on VH with 0 skill you can parry everything with Carapace Buckler until Plains.
At which point you can parry all one-stars except berserkers.
with how many hp foods
Ashlands f tier
i get staggered when parrying 0 star warrior
and what armor
Again, armor has nothing to do with blocking.
right mb
alright yea u can parry white mobs like twitchers and trash but i def wouldnt rely on it since i get staggered by 0 star warrior
other games i play do just gets confusing π
and ya also more star mobs on vh
i was able to parry morgen normal attack tho
and 0 star asksvin leap
Sheesh. Can't even parry a Marksman with HHS π¬
and tbh ive ran HHS on vh before sooo hey parry maybe viable if u wanna
seems like a legit strat for vh π
we were toying with that on vh group server, mostly 3 people around in ash, so extra 8% damage, yet if i didnt miss the timing, it was working, not even wearing full flame set, HHS food.
not being able to parry the 0 star warrior suckd tho
lotta those around
and u cant parry star mobs and u gotta time it well
id put this playstyle in the C tier thumbs up like and subscribe
did you try with harnesk?
root chest?
yes
does it affect blocking?
again, not blocking, but incoming damage
oh well i guess thats another topic
i was just talking about being able to parry stuff
thats all i talk about since the beggining π
oh uhh well glad i tested anyway and prolly wont be parrying stuff sadly
i never said its easy and yes, sometimes paintfull. its just another way how you can try, not just shoot roots from distance and run around
Brooo lfg is so annoying, especially when your 13 cuz you can hardly join anyone T-T
Do you have any friends in school that play the game?
nah π
hello, new here and new in valheim
Welcome
How do you teleport someone to you with console commands?
Recall
what do i do with 40 flammetal before i get gemstones? i'm a melee build
Black forge and cauldron upgrades
i made the crafting station upgrades
Flametal mace IMO.
I like the sword better π
I appreciate the knockback, adds survivalibity.
the sword does the same damage as the mistwalker but no frost
But they are pretty much equal imo (and i hate knockback xD)
NidhΓΆgg staggers better than Mistwalker tho.
daily swords vs clubs debate
Indeed π
fair, stagger beats frost
the axes
I used to dislike it too. But now I've adapted to it to my gamestyle and now they're one of my favorite weapon type. They were very useful in my deathless world.
maces are better in a 1v1 where you really don't want to get hit much, while swords exell where you have a lot of enemies that you m=need to dispatch quickly and move on to not get overwhelmed
how do you even do a deathless world? do you just quit if you ever die?
Mace knockback adds to every target when hitting multiple at once. Against Warriors it is useful.
Some do that "death = delete" but I don't delete them. I just try not to die.
You never cut a tree down I'll tell you that.
Things are wooden assassins.
yea pretty much just the honor system
Just some challenge I find fun. I started another one in Hard preset too after I was successful in normal run.
i remember i felt overpowered in the mountains, so i turned on very hard combat (27 deaths to moder)
I usually also try to beat all minibosses too in those runs.
And get all trophies, tame 2 star animals etc. if possible and not dead yet.
I didn't find out by going to my local library πΏ
How surprising...
for some reason i never get a neck trophy
did you get an elbow trophy
i have always obtained the queen trophy before the neck trophy
the what now
if you mean charred warlock, then yeah i got that before i got a neck trophy
i didn't even make that connection i just said words π₯΄
How's that, it is usually one of the first ones I get.
Usually Rancid trophy is one of the lasts I get.
and it seems to only be my singleplayer worlds, i joined my friends world and first neck i slay drops a trophy
man it took a long time to find the yagluth vevisgir. now finally to finish the plains
WW I certified classic, trenches are amazing β€οΈ
those trenches were for hiding in though
we make trenches not to hide in em
me, from my watchtower at the other side of the trench with my draugr fang:
And it helps mobs hide while being mauled by my askvins from my sight
is flammetal armor woreth it for a melee build?
It depends. They provide most armor but also gives you -10% total movement speed penalty. Have you played with heavy armor usually?
i'm rocking the carapace and padded, but also troll and fenris
There is also Ask armor, which gives a solid set bonus.
You can also combine armor pieces from different sets for less movement speed penalty and more armor, like Flametal helmet, chest and Ask leggings.
You can also get ratatosk potion and that will increase your movement by 15% so totaly movement bonus +5% even with heavy armor π
True that
and are catapults effective when seiging a fortress?
Not really. Theyβre good for mining flametal or for transport
aww... iv'e been climbing on the wall, sniping the spawner, and jumping off for 15 min now
We just use the battering ram and let chaos ensue
this game hates me, sailing around to the tiny sliver of black forest that the elder lives on and it is the foggiest it could possibly be
Njord does not bless your voyage, dock quickly and traverse on foot.
it is surrounded by plains and swamp, i am not going on foot
That's wild, and it's your closest elder spawn?
yep
if njord does not blesss your voyage, throw dragon tears into the ocean and take a nap
Welp, time to look for a new forest.
eh, just gonna sit off the coast until it clears before i dash in and drop a portal and run back out
i forgot how fun it is to spam atgeir
NOTHING CAN TOUCH ME until my stamina runs out
I really hope Valheim makes a system to give your friend permissions to start the server
got my portal down and killed the troll that is always right next to the elder altar (does anyone else get this?)
best to ask in #1024264966712340510
Is there an average of how many Sunken Crypts spawn in the Swamp? Cause i just went to the 4th Swamp area in my world, and only 1 of them actually had more than 1 crypt. Most of them 0 or 1.
Depends on size of a swamp usually
Random is as random does.
Hey everyone! Does anyone know what the equivalent graphic settings for Xbox One (Original or One S) would be on PC? I have a low-end PC that usually performs similarly to those consoles.
english only
Does sleeping affect berry re-spawn time?
depends on swamp but I'd call one with 8+ crypts a good one, I currently have a seed that has 8-14 crypts in 6 different swamps not too far from spawn
Wow, i gues i'm insanely unlucky with my seed then. I have found 5 swamps so far, scattered all over the place, and only 2 of them actually had some crypts in them
there is also some swamps with 30+ crypts
your seed probably has at least some great swamps but you haven't found them yet
Yeah i think so
yea some seeds are unlucky af with swamps
in one seed i think i was looking for a swamp for 1 hour
like not even a swamp with a crypt, just a swamp
it also depends how much you love sailing, I never had issues finding swamps that work well with crypts and surt spawners etc
me, it was mountains
I had plenty of mountains, but finding one with silver was another deal
Is skelett strenght affected by world modifiers or the amount of players on the server like other mobs?
It should be affected by both of those things. Itβs definitely stronger with higher difficulties.
Yeah thought so nice
I remember there was a patch saying they will stop flametal sinking, is it not the case anymore? Somehow my flametal vein still sinking and I even switch to public test version
That was a temporary fix to another issue, but flametal now sinks less than it used to (I believe it's 1% chance each hit)
Correct, from 10% to 1%, but each node drops now 2-4 ores (previously 3-4).
Somehow I thought this meant that flametal armor floats better in water. Took me a while.
i keep getting pushed into lava while im standing on the basalt bomb platforms (:
there's no reaction opportunity to it, a lava ball just clips through it
Have you tried to kill it with an AoE weapon like the Stagbreaker, Sledge or even the fire ball from the fire staff?
hi everybody i'm playing valheim since 2 weeks (90h) and i'm struggling getting my first vein of silver. so i'll be glad if someone's feeling like helping right now (tell me if it's not the proper place to post this i'll remove it)
Okay so. You equip the wishbone. It's like a pulse
When you notice it make the noise, move in a direction until the speed of that noise increases
When it's at its max it beeps like crazy. Then dig in that spot
I found the vein I m just asking for a bro protecting me from the thousands wolfs attacking
What kind of weapons and armor are you using?
I'm used to play solo but right now I would enjoy a little help
Full iron lv max with mace lv max too
Shield and health potions? Also, stamina potions or tasty mead with you?
And last, but no least, what difficulty?
Can I pay In resin Patrick I have shot load of it π
Never titch the difficulty settings
Touch *
I guess your right I have to make some potions, I only go with the frost resistances
Banded shield lv max but I'm bad at parry wolf's attack
If you see it rushing to you and you are at full health and stamina, just raise the shield.
It won't parry, but it will block most of the attack. Swing your weapon right after it and you will damage it a lot.
help. i cant seem to craft mossy fishing bate but i have the ingredients. what do i need? other than troll trophy na dbait?
The new crafting table for the food. Know as "The Food Preparation Table."
Does the mead tasty worth it ? I'm already prioritising stamina with the food
It will speed up your stamina regeneration, but it'll cost some health regeneration.
Also, if you just entered mountains, it's better to go with 2health, one stamina food. Or 1HP, 1S and 1 Feast if you think that's giving you a better balance.
Blocking works depending at your HP. If you go full stamina food, your HP is low and thus the blocking power is low too.
Which may also explain why it isn't working as you hope it should.
Thanks for the advices π
yw
Pretty sure they mean the lava spouts, not the oozes
The other reason I post on the discord was to find someone to play with tonight. Maybe you know a better place to ask or at least a nice server list
Thanks
is the deep north gonna be the last biome ever, or just last biome before the game comes out of early access?
It will be the final biome
prolly last biome but they said also 1.0 isnt necessarily the end of updates, whatever that means
Shield users out there, when entering the iron age, do you prefer the iron shield or the banded shield? iron shield basically has worse stats, but a 2.5x modifier on parry as opposed to 1.5x on the banded
banded
i like style
damn me too, but i accidentally crafted an iron π¦
but 2.5x parry is insane, so depends on u, look cool or do big parry dmg
damn, rip
Parry bonus multiplies block armor when parrying. Staggered enemies always take 2x damage
if ur gud at parrying iron shield is pretty awesome. if ur not banded shield can work for just blocking
iron buckler π―
If you're confident with your parry skills, then go buckler. If you want both blocking and parrying, then banded.
Hello everyone, just wanted to say Hi. Just got back into valheim and new to the server. Hope everyone has fun!
enjoy!
hi
Hi guys! Happy new year! Question, What do you guys do after finishing all the bosses? Do you enable build mode?
I build but I don't enable build mode.
i never finish any game, so i win?
Go fishing for large fish, collect trophies, fill out the map, and of course, building.
Do you "restart" your server every new biome? We have this debate if we'll restart once Deep North comes out
Just kinda depends, honestly. For Ashlands, I didnβt. However, I feel the Deep North update might add a lot of content, so I have a feeling it will be worth it to start fresh once it releases.
Alrighty! Looking forward for deep north.
The quest for copper and tin and to hide the bronze once smelted will be harsh again
Does anyone use server hosting services instead of the spar computer in the basement? If so are there any good ones out there?
finally, i have found turnips
and also the island i moved onto has the elder, moder, and bonemass
there is a plains section too, but i haven't explored it yet
You do everything you didn't do yet, and then you start a new play through with your own rules that you set yourself, goals and such and things you think will make the next run better, and can also use different world modifiers if that is your thing.
I've been playing this save and its around 581 days already
mostly just chilling but only fader is whats left on the boss list
is it bad that I'm taking my time?
how much mead can i drink at once?
for example, can i use ratatosk and medium stamina at the same time?
about how awesome they are
decidedly not
I'm mostly joking but oh my god I'm on my 5th death run through the plains and I'm losing it
what gear do you have
padded
try equipping root armor if you have any
the gear isn't the issue
deathquitos will not be a threat whatsoever
it's just how utterly infuriating they are when I've died in the plains and I'm trying to get my stuff back
no attack animation means that will always keep up with me
i think a finewood bow is more than enough to kill them
I had a nightmare that piercing damage got severely nerfed after I spend a bunch of time leveling up bow skill
maybe I need to cut back on how much I'm playing this game
they still stop on attack lol, but i tried to run from like 4 in fenris set mixed with ratatosk mead and i was going so fast that they just wouldnt leave me whatsoever
Hi
Whenβs the next update
It do be getting you like that ya
no idea, we would have heard about it.
That's disappointing you'd say that, considering that's always been the plan, and no one forced you to buy an early access game that was always planned to have this content release schedule (or at least something close to it).
Again, you chose to buy an early access game that had a schedule like this.
real studio or not its a small dev team that produced a beautiful product, i don't ever get to interact with devs anywhere else.
ashlands adding 29 weapons moment
enshrouded is justa copied peice of homework with nothing else going for it
lets not get into this can we? i love valheim and i love enshrouded, please stop with dick measuring.
supposed money or not the studio is the size that it is.
copies sold is not really what makes a studio big or small though?
large team does not make a game great lol
a large team can have a place in making a game great, i think the reason we don't often see that is because the largest teams have been doing cookie cutter concepts, but the quality and speed is there.
yes and most tripple A games dont have any of that like the game you mentioned it looks great and all but thats all it has
Do i want content faster? sure, but i knew what I was buying for $20, so should you have. I don't get why you're going off on them about it. They're also not an American company, they give vacation and QoL, something most of our population doesn't have.
triple A games can be amazing, some of my favorite are in that genre, and wether anyone likes it or not the same amount of quality can be produced and faster than any indie dev team, its more like a problem of what managment wants or what weird political or otherwise agenda is being pushed among triple A games that make them feel awkward and less soulful, I don't think a dev team can be blamed for that, Its a weird culture thing.
the weird culture thing of "i paid you $15, i own you" lol
^ or the "i didn't read the instructions"
Oh God, has it been 3 weeks already and we need to have this shit again? Yawn.
i missed it the first time i'm afraid
I've never once claimed that.
ok, that i can agree with you about π
Also, you are?
prove it, give me one thing you don't like about the game π€
15$ for hundreds of hours, yes, the game is great
60$ for a few hours, no the game isnt great
horizon zero dawn i think is triple A, its a bit weird, i love it anyways.
all the far cry games, with the exception of 6.
Magic, two nerfed biomes, lack of craft from storage, no reclaiming mats from items..
i know for certain its my favorite game so :P
wait, 2 nerfed biomes?
ahh mistlands is the other nerfed biome
See? We agree.
i don't like being too regretful, i can still find myself stressed in the ashlands if i stop paying attention.
Oh, and the identical fortresses suck too.
Why is it so damn hard to fight the wolfs
wolves
So I'll have none of this 'Derek thinks the devs can do no wrong' bullshit.
π
And every survival game is STILL compared to Valheim, 3 years on.
ruins the game for 6 year olds with no impulse control like a puppy
is x the new valheim ????
They will, they're only there for testing.
everytime there's some sort of new EA survival game
enshrouded is so not the same type of game, its a survival crafting game, correlation over.
its as valheim, as valheim is minecraft.
There's a lot more similarity than that.
I really really wished the low-poly graphics....performed like low poly graphics π
Low poly models is not the same as low quality graphics.
my previous computer, whatever the specs were, i thought pretty good, struggled to hold 30fps on medium settings.
but like how even tbh
Green Hell is nothing like Valheim.
it's like the forest.. no shit derek
are you saying there isn't green in valheim ποΈ ποΈ
Yeah, it's a whole new biome.
Bruh ya know what....i'm still waiting for the elder scrolls 6 π₯°
14 years later or whatever
why is it already 2025 please help
I'm waiting for light no fire
hoooly fuck thats alot of people π«¨
Nope. Just shades of blue.
i already almost don't like playing with 4 other people.
pissing and moaning about who wants to do what kinda build and who gets what resources
its kinda unplayable in the ashlands, i haven't wanted to play since we first landed.
teleporting morgens and no-clipping warriors weeeeeee
Part of the nerf was to REDUCE lag.
we all have the same internet connection playing in the same room.....its starlink for whatever thats worth idk if much..
it's poor netcode
very... very poor netcode, like slapped together because they needed something, from a graphics designer
the amount of information you send in valheim is low though, so it's not about internet connection, you literally just send a few KB of info every second
That really seems more like there Is problem on your end, i do not mean to be rude but it really should not be crashing your game. My mid (maybe bit to the low end) PC on medium to high settings may not get stable 60 fps but still works pretty well. Don't get me wrong, i completly agree that ashlands should get more optimizations and even devs acknowledged they are not happy with that currently. However it should not be crashing on what you say Is heavy duty rig.
If valheim not minecraft, why exploding slimes
valheim ripped off terraria with the concept of fighting enemies that are bigger and badder than other enemies called "bosses"
Valheim has bosses? I just been cutting trees for 800 hours.
how many deaths to trees?
more than 6
Why? If you dont want them, dont use them?
Every game has dev/cheat commands - even games like ARK etc. They have their legitimate uses.
yes
i dont think so
games usually keep them
and you can basically remove devcommands yourself by deactivating them
think he has a impulse or self control problems
if you cant stop yourself from spawning in stuff its not the games fault
not to mention
you need to go out of your way to activate them
additionally devcommands are the closest we have to creative mode, wich some people really want
so they wont be removed
they are already not available to everyone when they just launch the game
they need to be activated so its not just there for anyone to spawn in things when they play normally
thats actually a good idea, you should suggest that
no, the more minds combine the higher is the probability of getting a good idea someday
though theres has been a lot of trash in suggestions lately imo
The primary issue is Valheim allows chars to be stored "client side".
Dev commands are irrelevant.
If Valheim was meant to be played outside of a group of friends, it would be designed differently.
But its not.
So devcommands is not the issue here - its the primary design methodology of what Valheim represents
or just "copying" the char as you dump iron on the ground to duplicate it. its really not hard.
So it comes back to client vs server chars.
Take a stack of iron - drop it on ground.
Quit valheim - restore your char - log back in. You've doubled your iron. And so on.
Die in a dumb place? Logout, restore your char, log back in. etc.
If you need 1000 iron, would take 5mins.
And there are 500 other things you can do.
If someone "wants" to cheat - they will. Hence either play with friends, or dont - but the entire design of Valheim is mostly client authoritivie - which means all of this is simply how it is. Dev commands have no real impact here.
then you didnt really work it out π
There are easy ways if you want.
Anyway - this is all moot. Valheim allows client side authority on most things - so its simply not designed for playing outside of friends etc.
Even modding your local client is allowed - you cant stop it etc.
So you can disable devcommands.
I can still log onto your server with a modified client and do whatever I want.
and only the server owner can use them
p.s. it is the fact Valheim is designed for playing with friends that makes it technically easier.
Look at games like ARK - they spend all their dev time patching "exploits". And they still lose badly.
Allowing for client authority allows for a better local user experience with reduced technical overhead.
I really don't see what problem do you have with devcommands, you say that they should be removed because people can use them in solo worlds and bring stuff to servers. The solution Is simply not to play with those people. Play with people you can trust not to do that.
you can break the game and cheat it no matter what, if a player does that then thats just sad.
if someone you play with does that, don't play with them on your worlds.
Then what Is the point?
we're not. I see your point.
I'm trying to explain why it doesnt work the way you say.
Anyway - this is going around in circles... its not going to change, and if you cant see why, not much else to do here.
celery
Obi... Please...
Lol
you choose who you can play with man π© i use devcommands for building and i am so fucking grateful they exist
i want to fly
Yes, for testing purposes mostly and on world dedicated for that π
also sometimes shit happens like getting stuck in the swamp wells
do you deny any of the things i have said like at all or are you just coping
It really isnβt that deep
i'm a cheating cheater, deal with it.
You don't like them, don't use them. You don't want others to use them when playing with you, tell them that and/or don't play with them. π
Dev commands can be a useful tool for finding bugs, drop rates, testing enemy behaviors, how the world gen works etc
You seem to have quite severe trust issues...
Itβs a single player game others people experience and what they do shouldnβt impact yours, your accomplishments are unique to you and same with your experiences, donβt worry about what others are doing
everyone can still bring their end-game character over to your world even without dev commands lol
So find new friends to play with
Thereβs a part of this discord thatβs dedicated to help you look for like minded players to experience valheim with
idk man i just play singleplayer for like 1000 hours personally
that is....highly highly....up to preference....lol
my friends hurt my soul sometimes
no the host openly uses them in front of us, the rest of us well we can't obviously, (because we take our playthrough seriously we resist the inhuman carnal absolutely feral primal and irresistable urge to use it in our own worlds i know its crazy π )
just bickering about who gets to use what resources, what class combinations, where we go next.
my team seems to like to argue about who actually did how much work
the self satisfaction
because you know you did it right, guilt will catch up to the cheater eventunally
I have discovered the way of the stealth archer
personally for me it isn't even the guilt, its just not nearly as fun to have those stats when you didn't work for it. If I was in a situation where I didn't care about normal progression and just wanted to fight or build for example, I'd probably do it
everyone can still mod in +500000 health points, the fact that we choose not to is because its less fun
ANYWAYS holy crap stealth archery is fun
I took out a large fuling village with like 4 shamans and 6 beserkers and almost none of them saw me before they died
still haven't defeated bonemass
yo. did anything like this, ever happend in valheim world? it would be amazing, no? https://youtu.be/26PlGx7GFEA
why aren't there any stone ramps
I want stone ramps...
Morgen gjall.
Oh btw do we have some builders that would be willing to give me some tips on how to improve?? Cuz I feel like I made my house too big and it's just plain so, but hey not now I'll say when I get home
Do u guys think frostlands will be realeased in 2026?
I think it's gonna be in 2025
But first I need some ocean update and more building stuff like, I need some use for the serpent scales let us make roofs of them
Look in #building-tips , #building-ideas and #building-discussion π
I mean yea I've been browsing it but I like my building style and I need critics on it so
then dont play with such people? it would be easy to see who cheated in levels
or items and iirc you had to activate devcommands to be able to spawn in anything
ngl my 1 time realy building normaly my frend does taht stuff but i started a solo world and i gotta say i made a nice base ^^
loong time bratha, they are gonna revisit all other biomes as well
Did they say that anywhere?
Iβm pretty sure it was mentioned in a talk where they sat on a couch that they wanna fill out biomes that seem less fleshed out than others
Hopefully theyβre done with swamps now lol
if i recall correctly they want to add at least one thing to each biome before they release
imo the dark forest feels like the most fleshed out biome
but then again some biomes are already just perfect
mehhh, i can see content being added to each one.
i just need something for plains then im happy
a thing or two more to make exploration less monotonous to those of us that have been through the meadows 10+ times.
Meadows Black Forest and swamp seem pretty perfect where they are now, meadows doesnβt need more as itβs the tutorial biome
I think more variation in the structures that can spawn would be nice
every biome could have another couple things, couple things on the scale of like when the abomination was added and got a new armor set
literally even the mistlands and ashlands, like the mistlands doesn't have a miniboss
in meadows, or all biomes, they could add stuff that spawns only further out from the center
Plains is missing second armor
yes
plains is missing a bit more than just armor
Fist weapons.
What else would you say plains needs?
there is no intention, stop gaslighting us devs, it is missing an armour set
It is clearly missing lox armor
a dungeon, maybe an fuling iron mine
the fuling camps served as the dungeons
yes but there is no iron there
why does plains need iron
because the armor needs iron
swamps are for iron
but swamp has iron
i guess
scratch what I just said, I actually think this'd be pretty fun
and more options are always better
the plains could use another weapon or two, another armor set, reworks to lox and linen capes, another enemy or two.
Each biome having its own unique legendary weapon like frostner himminafl, Mistwalker, dyrnwyn
i'd like to actually spend time in plains during plains, not swamp
although Iβm not sure if mistwalker makes that list
the meadows could use another enemy or plant to freshen the experience a bit, the black forest could use some more unique wildlife, the swamp could use a miniboss, the mountains maybe more unique plants, the mistlands could use a miniboss, the ashlands should have better fortresses.
mistlands just consists of unique weapons
Hello, fellow vikings
good morning
hello
oh actually an animal unique to black forest would go nicely
if we reaaally like.....i mean tbh the way we're trending why not add an npc to every biome, legit fam, that'd be kinda fun π₯΄
Excluding mistlands and Ashlandβs, they got dvergr already
maybe probably, an ashlands npc as in not dvergr, but someone from the civilization prior, one of the few non-psycho undead remaining, could have some interesting dialogue.
i just hope they dont add dvergr to deep north
npcs having random uses like haldor for utility, hildir for clothing, bog witch for food and mead, could maybe have a mountains npc for some sort of building....lumber jack.....finewood and corewood building and furniture....something something..
ahh a mountains npc that lets you build specialized wooden structures...like stained wood to resist the rain, ancient bark roofing, random stuff like that..
there was a suggestion for a mountains cultist blacksmith that would allow for custom named weapons
a mistlands npc could sell a couple extra magic weapons maybe, for variety in playing around or something, different types of elements like lightning types.
ahhh mistlands npc that can do transmogification
This is my Himmin Afl.
There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Mhm, small studio tho so cant blame
send them 2-3 years dagestan and forget
Bro knows me
what early weapon can i make to help me in ashlands
Frostner.
Although some claim an atgeir is good too. But since I've never used that I won't know.
I do know Frostner and it's still good in Ashlands due to the spirit and slow from the frost it does; although the blunt damage is somewhat weak. Especially since a lot of monsters are neutral to blunt damage over there.
@pliant hatch
But that wouldn't be an early weapon.
The other option is going magic and getting the Root Staff asap.
If you're already playing as a mage, using the fire staff and the staff of protection is a good combo until you're able to replace it for the root staff.
Troll staff seems to be good too, but the downside of that is that the summoned troll will be hostile to you too.
So make sure that when you use it, you won't be caught between a rock and a hard place.
Demolisher and Mistwalker.
But those aren't early ashlands weapons...... π€£
There is no Ash Hammer and Mistwalker at max is better than rank 1 non-enchanted Ashlands sword.

I'm aware of that, but look:
#valheim-chat message
π
askvin or ashen cloak better
both
Feather cape
asksvin for moving around and ashen for fights
and feather cape yes all three
just switch depending on need
why not askin for fighting tho
Feather cape is very useful in a fight, better jumps mean you can dodge more
if you want to dodge sure, but ashen is basically fourth armor piece so its useful if you want to tank
i do need to tank tbf, my shit is on hard mode
wdym
its not that bad, i got 3 mages giving me shields, i got a really good shield and i have bonemass
Looks like vro is tanking
I just keep thinking about mammooths knowing Deep North is coming π
Mace for the first weapon IMO. Knockback is good against multiple Charred, especially warriors, at the same time.
Mammoths, they're just cold Lox.
so? every biome has the same type of animal
No they don't.
asksvin for roaming and killing random mobs. ashen for boss fight
you know what tho, the morgen is actually preety ez
legit if you're using asksvin cloak + eikthyr power + ask set, you actually regen stamina while running π π―
im parrying him rn normally, on the hard difficulty with ashen shield and mistwalker
ye, its preety ez on hard too
you can actually nearly triple parry him
with the ashen cloak, ill be able to
In what way?
each biome got osmethin to tame
except mistalnds i guess and swamp
Hare should be a tameable
Tell me the tames of swamps and BF
Yea its meadows, mountains, plains, and Ashland's have tameable
Getting them into an enclosure would be almost impossible
I did it on an island chain. Not knowing they couldn't be tamed. I made a stone box with dual gate entrance. Let them find their way into the box and shut the doors on them. Quickly found out they don't tame. This was early on in Myst release.
Harpoon hurts them a lot.
You can tell if a creature is tameable because when you aim it will show βwildβ
On another note. Two players, a bunch (5+) of work benches, and a longship will be easy early Ashland's landfall.
Let us know how the longship fares against the bonemaw serpent
π
I also hope you have a spot where land is extremely close to the edge of the boiling ocean
Bonemaw vs two players in plains/myst gear wasn't too bad. We landed took out two spawners. Fortified two portals and pressed on
Sounds good Viking best of luck with it
who was gonna tell me that weather is uniform across all valheim worlds?
like when its raining its raining in every valheim world across the globe?
That's not how it works
then my friend just lied to me
Well, not like that, it just rains and the weather is same on day 12 for example, so each world gets the same weather on that day
you can look here to see what weather will be on what day http://valheim.kirilloid.ru/weather
so its based on the day count?
Yep
Yes, and the biome you're in
Wind and weather aren't the same all over the map. I've crossed grid lines and had wind swap 180Β°. I've been in places where it was raining while others weren't.
Wind is constant, but weather isnt, wind simply can change direction on its own
