"Funny NeckSmile "
Not "funny 😭"

west pulsar
#

Nah its both to me

#

I wish they would stop nerfing the feather cape

shy marlin
#

feather cape deserved every nerf it got

vital umbra
#

no, nerfs are bad.

west pulsar
#

Like okay fine the fire weakness isnt that bad but removing the jump is bleh

nocturne wolf
#

It's in a good spot now, the jump stamina reduction is perfect and the weakness is worth it

west pulsar
#

Yea but the extra jump was nice i miss it

vital umbra
#

The feather cape is fine and i still like it but i hate nerfs i don't care what they are.

nocturne wolf
#

If the mead was as expensive as it used to be there would be a problem, but it's easy to get consistently now

vital umbra
#

i thought i remembered it using hare trophies

west pulsar
west pulsar
nocturne wolf
west pulsar
#

I still like the ashen cape though

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

ahh well the only reason i use the feather cape in the ashlands is because it looks best with emblas set

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

the asksvin cape looks good with nothing, except maybe asks set.

#

the ashen cape is peak except for the fact it completely blocks out your entire face with emblas set

west pulsar
#

I forgot what it does because it's butt ugly

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

the asksvin cape?

west pulsar
#

Yea i made it though it was ugly and never touched it again

nocturne wolf
#

You run faster and when running with the wind it costs significantly less stamina

west pulsar
#

Oh less run stamian neat

#

Thats the main bonus wind direction is a gimmick

shy marlin
#

everyone complaining about the feather cape nerf but no one complaining about the ask cape nerf lol

vital umbra
#

bruh what who gives a fuck about run stamina at the point of the ashlands where you have skill 75+ in running 😭

unborn nexus
#

yall wonder why the swamp has no cape

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

jeus

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

my run skill is 96 in the mistlands

west pulsar
# vital umbra jeus

My learning curve of this game was bad i died a lot early on but nowadays not so much

unborn nexus
west pulsar
#

What

unborn nexus
#

made out of rotten deer meat + maggot pelts
disgusting but it gives you poison resist

tiny tiger
#

Jesus Christ Ashland’s with 30 skills?

west pulsar
#

Yes

tiny tiger
#

Im on mountains with 40s

west pulsar
#

It was unbelievably hard

tiny tiger
#

Is 30 pre death or post dying

vital umbra
#

just turn down death penalty at that point cuz 🄓

west pulsar
#

I solo ran the game with no guide

tiny tiger
#

30s does sound like a struggle, from what I seen with Ingame dev tools you’re meant to be around 50-60 for mistlands - Ashland’s

vital umbra
#

iiii mean i did too technically...i didn't find my way to the server here until weeks ago after i already finished the ashlands experience

odd helm
#

-# skill levels are honestly not that important

west pulsar
#

They are

vital umbra
#

they're important to my soul, hi scarlet.

odd helm
#

-# like, they help, but gear upgrades are far more important

tiny tiger
#

Id argue run skill is

#

It’s a world of a difference from lvl 0 to 50 to 100

west pulsar
#

They basically increase all your shit by around 40%+ that's damage stamian consumption bow draw time etc

tiny tiger
#

Im currently on lvl 57

vital umbra
#

bow and run and jump and magic and farming and cooking.

tiny tiger
#

Yeah blood magic for that extra shield

west pulsar
#

Idk how do i check my skills lmao i only know when they level up

vital umbra
#

they're important if you actively level them*

vital umbra
west pulsar
#

What English

tiny tiger
#

inventory screen, top right to the right of the raven icon

merry pebble
vital umbra
#

its like yeah if you look over where it probably is

west pulsar
#

I've legit never used that menu

tiny tiger
#

Crazy

west pulsar
#

No I'm completely serious

tiny tiger
#

Is this your first playthrough?

vital umbra
#

hello completely serious

west pulsar
#

Same character its why my skills are high i did most of the game 3 times

tiny tiger
#

Have you found bog witch?

#

And the other traders?

west pulsar
#

Oh yea

vital umbra
#

ahh witchie-poo my beloved 🄰

west pulsar
#

I have maxed out this world pretty much

#

Got every trophy ive beaten fader twice i got every ashlands weapon did all mini bosses yada yada

#

Im just kinda dreading making a new world but i suppose I'll play this one again when the north comes out

foggy glacier
#

I assume you don't have the fishing hat then.

west pulsar
#

No i HATE FISHING MAN

light moat
#

Another fishing hater 🄲

west pulsar
#

Also i accidentally made like 15 asksvins in my pen so

#

Oh bro my skills are so cooked

vital umbra
#

fishing can be enjoyable

west pulsar
#

Bro i did that for the potion and wanted to get angry

#

The fishing for some reason makes me angy

#

Yea also all my main skills are like 95+

#

There are a few i never use like fists of knives

tiny tiger
#

I just got the lamest moder fight ever, I built a little trench underneath the altar and she managed to spawn there and is stuck and unable to get out

west pulsar
#

That-

tiny tiger
#

oh crap she managed to get out finally

vital umbra
#

hmm

west pulsar
#

Bro i had to clear item drops because it was lagging my game out i need to use the obliterator more

vital umbra
#

why are you not already

#

i need too much wood for building my kilns haven't seen use in an age because of the obliterator

west pulsar
#

Well because i have about 10 surtling farms

#

I dont need coal and i already smelted down everything but my flametal so idk i don't need coal so ive been dropping garbage in my pit

#

Who needs more coal when i have like 20 piles

merry pebble
west pulsar
#

For what?

#

No im completely serious for what exactly

tiny tiger
#

okay well moder felt lame this time around, she kept getting stuck on the castle and in the trench sometimes when landing, or spazzing out while mine and her hitboxes clipped and being unable to attack

#

my first time ever fighting her it was a deadly battle and i died a few times and dont remember her bugging out at all tbh

vital umbra
west pulsar
#

I seriously doubt I'll need more

#

Like i can show you what metals i have imo i dont need MORE

#

Maybe copper if that gets a use

vital umbra
#

next you're gonna tell me you throw away black metal, and don't break every single piece of ancient armour and weapon, and don't mine all the flametal you see, and don't sap mountains dry of silver.

west pulsar
#

Well i hate the mistlands so yea i literally made a farm i barely touch and that's it. As for silver well i have enough for an army and flametal ahahahah one sec I'll show you how much i have

tiny tiger
#

Bruh moder unearthed like 164 silver for me

vital umbra
tiny tiger
#

I can max my frostner and silver armor now

west pulsar
tiny tiger
#

But I think im just gonna try rush padded

vital umbra
west pulsar
#

Yea

#

But nails are cheap

vital umbra
#

iron beams, iron torches, copper sconces, dvergr gates and stairs and walls, iron bars

west pulsar
#

Iron? Yea iron ik but iron isnt copper. And i dont really use that stuff to build

#

Other than my pet house

cosmic igloo
light moat
#

10 copper to make hanging braziers šŸ˜…
oh, and 5 tin as well

tiny tiger
#

Yo so uhhh, there’s the sound of someone mining come from my swamps somewhere ???

#

It’s a solo world so I’m really confused rn

vital umbra
#

valheim-obrine...😱

cosmic igloo
#

schizo viking pog

tiny tiger
#

Omg it was steam background recording of me in the plains earlier šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø 🤣

#

For some reason it was playing even with the overlay hidden

vital umbra
tiny tiger
#

Also can I just say ratatosk mead is such a game changer

#

I’ve been using it every single moment since I’ve gotten it and the best part of it is it helps you find the ingredients needed to craft it faster

#

10 blueberries 10 honey and some coins for an hours worth of speed is a godsend

cosmic igloo
#

ikr

foggy glacier
#

Yeah, I didn’t use them for a while at first but now I’m addicted to ratatosk and lightfoot.

tacit crystal
tulip stirrup
#

ein deutscher bock auf entspannt vahlheim

unborn nexus
#

valheim has this funny overlay issue where you can click things through it

tiny tiger
#

Ahhh

unborn nexus
#

ex: clicking through tabs selecting music and pausing the game

#

or unpausing it

tiny tiger
#

Also has anyone found a decent use for troll endurance mead yet

#

Because so far I’ve only had one genuine use case for it being carrying two dragon eggs up at the same time for the moder fight

#

Could have carried all 3 too if I didn’t have 1 already up there

unborn nexus
#

ore grinding

tiny tiger
#

With it only lasting 5 minutes?

unborn nexus
#

one such example is silver

#

make a bench n chest
pop the node
load the ore inside the chest
pop the potion
run back

#

hate the duration though

vital umbra
#

i like bread

tiny tiger
#

hmm maybe but realistically a node usually drops around 80-100 so it would be two trips minimum

#

A cart down the mountain would be just one trip…

unborn nexus
#

read: lazy ass

unborn nexus
vital umbra
#

are there seriously people that don't throw carts down the sides of mountains?

tiny tiger
#

But I mean I guess, I don’t bother with either I just run from mountain to base this playthrough repeatedly carrying 27 at a time lol

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

they look good though

west pulsar
#

Agreed i have them

unborn nexus
#

not that i am bad at driving carts

#

re-finding the thing is the annoying part

tiny tiger
#

I think troll endurance should make heavy carts easier to carry too

unborn nexus
#

plus at 1000 weight the cart becomes very hard to move

tiny tiger
#

as it stands I feel it’s use cases are extremely limited compared to the other potions

unborn nexus
#

another use is building projects

vital umbra
#

throw it off the mountain

unborn nexus
#

as you can't build with no stamina, but alas you can just chuck the bmats onto the floor

tiny tiger
#

Yeah and have the resources already set up for easy installation at the building site

west pulsar
#

I used one once and decided its a waste of time

tiny tiger
#

agreed, I’ve only used them a handful of times on my current world, to transport resources from the east coast to my base on the west coast

unborn nexus
#

low hp, reliant on physics/slopes/even surfaces, and a target for enemies

#

also you can't decon a cart, only destroy it

tiny tiger
#

I think the only major use case I can think of for carts is going to the woods to chop wood

#

and I guess silver down a mountain side lol

unborn nexus
#

not to mention the cart gets damaged by merely moving it around

tiny tiger
#

What we need is a catapult that can transport resources lol

#

Add a payload that can hold 4 stacks of items

nocturne wolf
unborn nexus
#

A lox can carry infinite weight

#

problem is that they can't exactly swim

nocturne wolf
#

They can

tiny tiger
#

^

unborn nexus
#

and are helpless against mosquitos

unborn nexus
tiny tiger
#

Oh right

#

Well I mean there’s serpents in the oceans

livid zenith
unborn nexus
#

i think you can fit them on a ship

#

but fitting one of the fattest fucks in the game onto a ship
yeah

tiny tiger
#

Longship yeah but I heard they can get aggroed off it

vital umbra
#

i can swim the whole ocean

nocturne wolf
#

In my first playthrough we moved two loxes across 2-3 islands to our base by making them swim

tiny tiger
#

and definitely drakkar lol

#

I’ve still never tamed wolves in the game

#

I think half the reason is because I usually don’t bother taming boar either so don’t really have much meat to spare for taming

west pulsar
#

I just did it recently now i have so many it lags my base

tiny tiger
#

Wolf pelts for life

west pulsar
#

TOO MANY

#

I play on 3x bro 2 stars drop literally so many

tiny tiger
#

You should go on a rampage with the butcher knife

west pulsar
#

I did and now i have a black chest of wolf meat

vital umbra
#

why would you kill puppies

west pulsar
#

I overstock food i should show you my feast table

nocturne wolf
#

For some delicious wolf meat skewers

vital umbra
#

horrible

west pulsar
#

My logic is i use the food from the biomes i go to. To explore those biomes

#

Because then i dont waste my good stuff

nocturne wolf
unborn nexus
#

eyescream n skewers are easy

vital umbra
#

just make more good stuff, i know i do, i'd rather have the extra stamina because why not..

unborn nexus
#

considering the sources of those materials always come to you

vital umbra
west pulsar
#

Yea but that takes TIMMEEEE

vital umbra
#

tamed wolves = puppies

tiny tiger
#

Rn I have. Mushroom shortage from all the skewers and serpent stew I’ve been cooking up

west pulsar
#

Tamed wolf only exist to kill the goblins in my plains and feed me

nocturne wolf
#

Tamed wolves make better skewers šŸ˜‹

vital umbra
#

guys wait till you hear this horrifying fact, i am using misthare supreme and salad while building 😱

#

In the plaaaaiiiiinns šŸ‘»

tiny tiger
#

I’m not the best mushroom forager

unborn nexus
#

he doesn't have shroom pins

west pulsar
#

Real shit though i have so much asksvin meat i might burn it

#

And if you think that's dumb i have something for you

vital umbra
#

you have askvin meat to use for all the lesser biomes, where is this tiiiiiime that you're talking about making good food.

#

save the puppies

west pulsar
unborn nexus
#

meat for coal, trophies for the oblit

tiny tiger
#

I unlocked mustard supreme while still in mountain tier circumventing a mistlands biome there were just jotun puffs and hares that were easy to hunt

west pulsar
#

Its easy when one asksvin drops 24 MEAT

tiny tiger
#

so I have the recipe but no way to make it yet however I will have an oven pretty soon

vital umbra
#

mustard supreme

west pulsar
#

Mustard supreme

unborn nexus
#

cooking skill for some reason also can double the coal from burnt food

vital umbra
#

i'm going to use gifs even if i can't, one of these days the mainframe might shatter and give me perms

tiny tiger
#

It truly is a shame we can’t post gifs or screenshots here

vital umbra
#

we can, just click the link anyways 🄓

#

i'll not yield to 1984

west pulsar
#

Obi i think you forget im on 3x 😭

#

Certain things are easier to get

vital umbra
#

you should have fucking 80k fiddlehead then

west pulsar
#

Bruh i HATE HATE HATE HATE the Ashlands

vital umbra
#

doesn't it already drop multiple and spawn everywhere on normal drop rates

west pulsar
#

Yes

vital umbra
#

git gud 🌟

tiny tiger
#

Okay the 3x drop rates actually explains your low lvl for skills and Ashland’s tier

vital umbra
#

idk how it does....less time spent getting things less time spent practicing stuff,,?..

west pulsar
#

I have no shame im solo and i give my resources to my other players in their worlds so i do kinda need it

west pulsar
vital umbra
#

which playthrough'th is this of yours

tiny tiger
#

It’s not about shame it’s just I was wondering how lvl 30 skills in Ashland’s and that piece of info has connected the dots as obi said less time building up skills due to increased drops

west pulsar
#

Well i have one world but as i said i help 3 other people in theres

#

So my skills got basically power leveled as i was fighting everything

#

I literally had like 6 different firefights in the plains

#

On god bro that village had 4 berserkers and 3 mages and like at LEAST 20 normal ones and mosquitoes ive never seen enemies that dense since

vital umbra
#

"raiseskill run 100"

west pulsar
#

No im not at 100 hajajanajahaja

#

Im at high 90ish on that the only skill ive OUTRIGHT 99 is slash and thats because i use axes and swords the most by a large margin

#

I think the new skills like cooking are still sub 50 for me

tiny tiger
#

lol my swords skill is 0 I’m all in on frostner this run

#

And some investment in atgeirs and bows

west pulsar
#

Bows are my love

vital umbra
#

i hate sticking to a skill, all of my weapon skills are at about 40 right now except for magic, crossbows & atgeirs which i am currently leveling.

west pulsar
#

Well my blood magic is INSANELY high from memory

#

Ive used that dead raiser and staff so much its actually a joke

tiny tiger
#

I’d love to round out my weapon skills but rn I just don’t have the resources for all the weapons

unborn nexus
#

mining out an entire black forest does wonders for mining skill on 1x

west pulsar
#

Actually lemme just check my skills i got a second

unborn nexus
#

add in factor of dying lots

tiny tiger
#

Like rocks an all or just the ores?

unborn nexus
#

ores

west pulsar
#

Yea i died a lot in the latter half

unborn nexus
#

meadows has lots of rocks to crack

west pulsar
#

Also why are golems in the forest faction is there lore on this

unborn nexus
#

greydwarves are reanimated souls of dead people taken the form of well, that

nocturne wolf
#

It’s to make them fight wolves and drakes

unborn nexus
#

given the runestone

#

likely some forest spirit inhabits the golem too

nocturne wolf
#

Leeches aren’t undead but are put in the undead faction so they don’t fight swamp enemies. Faction names are never shown to the player in-game so you don’t need to think about the specific faction something is on, just what it is and isn’t friendly with.

#

Stone golems likely have no connection to the forest, that was just chosen to make them hostile to the mountains

unborn nexus
#

given that no matter how many times you kill a golem

#

it just keeps coming right back for more punishment

west pulsar
tiny tiger
#

To fight fulings

west pulsar
#

Yea but why undead SPECIFICALLY

tiny tiger
#

and lox

nocturne wolf
#

So they fight plains enemies.
It could be any other faction and the gameplay would be exactly the same and you would never know without external information

unborn nexus
#

things likely drowned in the tarpits or sunk

#

there are giant bones near said pits

west pulsar
#

Well i guess oil is dead shit so

nocturne wolf
west pulsar
#

Noted

unborn nexus
#

although golems are immune to drakes

tiny tiger
#

ā€œLikelyā€ basically guaranteed lmao, hell they duped troll for loxes

unborn nexus
#

i repeat, it never gets old seeing a golem slap a drake out of the air

west pulsar
tiny tiger
#

Ctrl c ctrl v

west pulsar
#

Yea but they're different

unborn nexus
#

fulings are more like boars

vocal rivet
#

You could just say duplicated.

nocturne wolf
tiny tiger
#

then edit into a lox

unborn nexus
#

smack you, run around in circles, repeat

west pulsar
tiny tiger
#

Because of their troll hitbox and large hitbox in general

nocturne wolf
#

I’ve never noticed their ai being terrible

vital umbra
#

lox are so incredibly stupid

#

they move so awkwardly

burnt glen
#

Mhm

unborn nexus
#

lox are so stupid you don't even need to be sneaking to "backstab" them

west pulsar
#

I could drive a refrigerator at highway speeds better than the lox move

tiny tiger
#

the best place to not notice their ai suck is in open flat plains

unborn nexus
#

they're that dumb

vital umbra
# vital umbra they move so awkwardly

they move like the game is a grid, suddently stopping and turning 90 degrees to the left or right then moving in that direction then stopping and turning 90 degrees towards you then stopping.

#

like playing fucking chess

west pulsar
#

They kinda move like gold generals in shogi

tiny tiger
#

Which enemy has the best ai?

unborn nexus
#

wolves or greydwarfs

west pulsar
#

Trolls are top tier greydrawfs are also braindamaged wolves are amazing hmmm

unborn nexus
#

they do one thing and one thing only, chase your ass no matter where you go

#

and when you actually pull out a weapon to beat them, they just turn tail and dodge it

vital umbra
#

Hmmmmmmmmm....best ai in terms of what? reliably dangerous or complex?

west pulsar
#

MOSQUITOS

#

Thats my opinion their ai is really good

vital umbra
#

fulings are harder to deal with but when you're fighting only one of them their hit and run combat style is actually really pathetic

unborn nexus
#

i notice that fuling berserkers alert other fulings to your position if they roar

tiny tiger
#

best ai in terms of feeling right

unborn nexus
#

pretty neat

tiny tiger
#

it’s completely based on your perception

unborn nexus
#

if a shaman is feeling particularly evil, they can give deathsquitos shields

west pulsar
tiny tiger
#

I will agree that wolf ai is relentless

nocturne wolf
#

Seekers are great enemies because their tallest attack only reaches 2m up

vital umbra
#

most enemies in the ashlands seemed pretty good except for the morgen, stupid fucking rollie pollies, easily parryable.

west pulsar
#

So im basing it in how well their pathing works and how well they hunt the player

unborn nexus
#

fulings when i middle mouse click my atgeir

west pulsar
nocturne wolf
#

Wraiths too

west pulsar
#

Wolves more so draugr are decent but kinda get stuck a tad on the terrain

tiny tiger
#

Draugr work pretty good yeah

unborn nexus
#

bow draugr are menaces

burnt glen
#

Anything that flies has decent AI

vital umbra
#

draugr are just beefier skeleton ai, boring.

tiny tiger
#

How is vulture and askvin ai?

west pulsar
#

Dog

#

Asksvin move like a shopping cart

burnt glen
west pulsar
#

Vulture is just average

tiny tiger
#

Sea serpent ai does a decent job for the most part although I feel like they should t just randomly stop chasing you sometimes

vocal rivet
#

Volture.

burnt glen
west pulsar
unborn nexus
#

if enemies can't hit the player, they tend to skamper about

tiny tiger
#

I think as long as it’s storming or night they should be relentless

#

and then back off during the day as they’re clearly overgrown angler fish

unborn nexus
#

which can be a pain

west pulsar
#

I wouldn't know because i chase them

#

I literally just shoot them and pile drive them 😭

tiny tiger
#

I need to collect the scales so I gotta harpoon them and have them chase me into land

west pulsar
#

Oh fair the scales sink right?

tiny tiger
#

yep and trophy

#

Which I also happen to need for ocean fishing bait

unborn nexus
#

meat floats

nocturne wolf
#

You don’t need a harpoon. Kill them by a beach and make a diving ladder

tiny tiger
#

that is true but the harpoon is just convenient

west pulsar
#

Yea no see i was kinda lucky because i literally beached my boat and the serpent somewhere and just shot it to death got a trophy

tiny tiger
#

If I drag the serpent onto a Black Forest shore I can have the local gremlins berate him and throw rocks at the idiot too

west pulsar
#

Idk they always spawn right in front of my face

#

Im no coward I'll slam my boat into the serpent

tiny tiger
#

How effective is that strategy in terms of damage? I’ve never tried it lol

west pulsar
#

Doesn't do lots of damage but it causes my screen to vibrate a bit and its funny

#

Usually they're a bit under the water so the bottom of my boat hits it and i full stop and shoot it to death with frost arrows

#

Jajajajajaan

#

Also am i the only one that goes from no enemies to a small army in 5 seconds when in the Ashlands

nocturne wolf
#

Ashlands has higher spawn rates than other biomes

west pulsar
#

Yea but WHY YYYYY

#

It already has spawners EVERYWHERE

#

Its like making the enemies do a Godzilla amount of damage wasnt enough

pliant hatch
#

Because you were told to prepare for war.

And that doesn't mean you throw lox-pies at the occasional thief you notice when walking in a park. It means fighting for each and every inch of progress you have to make.

west pulsar
#

Eh fair enough the Ashlands had me fighting for a portal every 100 feet

nocturne wolf
west pulsar
#

Lord reto needs a trophy bruh i did allat for not even a trophy the mf can almost pop my 680 hp shield in one hit

west pulsar
#

I would have liked to see more bigger enemies like the morgen though the bonemaw is cool i really like that add more sea shit

nocturne wolf
#

Morgens and valkyries is enough big enemies for one biome

west pulsar
#

Eh im just a sucker for them is all

#

I like mini bosses as well

nocturne wolf
#

(Big enemies and bouncy Vikings don’t go well together)

west pulsar
#

Well take the troll its of my favorite enemies in the game because its fun to fight at any level

#

Good ai i like the way it attacks i like the fact i can out position it

#

Same with abominations i just wish they didnt have so much knockback

#

I loved a flying big enemy like the fallen valks they're cool and give good drops

#

Name me one unfun big enemy (besides the lox they're ruined by their ai)

#

Lox are just too spongy and dumb af so they end up being a dummy that just randomly does a 180 then a 90 and another 90 and tries to hit me

#

Literally moves like a fridge

#

Do greydwarf brutes count as big?

nocturne wolf
nocturne wolf
west pulsar
#

2400 hp is excessive I'll grant you that

#

But again morgens have 4800

#

5000 hp is what i describe as too spongy

nocturne wolf
#

The stars make them near-impossible to stagger too so it takes a lot longer than killing three 0-star of the same enemy

And morgens are 0.5x resistant to physical

west pulsar
#

Yea exactly morgens annoy me they're WAYYY too tanky

#

The normal ones have 1600 hp which feels fine

nocturne wolf
#

I think tankier enemies should get a smaller health increase with stars, although I suggested it before the server hack and people don’t agree

west pulsar
#

Yea well they're weird they think longer to kill means harder

#

Great i had to dodge hit hit dodge hit hit 3x as much SO MUCH HARDER

#

At least the staff of protection gives me 690 hp

#

Its worth eating my health bar for

nocturne wolf
#

You don’t need any health if you’re using that staff right

west pulsar
#

Real shit boss abilities suck like yagluth gets outdone by potions fader is useful but niche elder might as well not exist eikthyr is weirdly solid early game moder is even more niche and queen is EVEN MORE niche

west pulsar
#

That gives me a solid amount of hp

#

Sometimes i do double feast and hp

nocturne wolf
#

I’m trying perfectly balanced health and stamina for my current playthrough as an excuse to use the new feasts

west pulsar
#

Well the ashlands stuff and mistlands give 75 75 38 and 65 65 33 respectively

#

At my skill level 70 etir is enough for small tasks

nocturne wolf
#

I’m planning on using magic later in the playthrough but I won’t be using feasts then

west pulsar
#

For Ashlands i run 2 feasts and 1 etir

#

Which gives me 161 etir

#

kindred hare
#

yea. whoever said that this game was balanced for solo, i dont believe that. how tf am i expected to beat a boss that i cant even touch because im too busy getting 1 tapped by him even with the food that they said i need to eat

#

food thats actually barely better than the fish i had been using

kindred hare
#

elder. i had beat him in the past. have no idea how tho been long time

scarlet hill
#

i first tried bonemass and moder

#

oh elder i only died first attempt then i knew how to prepare for the bosses lol

#

elder has only a few moves and its easy to move around them i think, i used only bow

kindred hare
#

yea but im too busy wasting all my stamina running to get away from those attacks

scarlet hill
#

when he throws that root projectile = sprint to dodge, when the adds spawn on your position, move away

#

yeah manage that stamina , i personaly used honey and two meats so i didnt have much stam to begin with

kindred hare
#

cant manage it. if i stop i die. if i keep going i cant attack.

scarlet hill
#

you wont die if you stop, because theres always a cooldown in elder's moves

kindred hare
#

doesnt seem to be

scarlet hill
#

the root projectile attack for example doesnt track your position 100%

kindred hare
#

im barely staying out of them. by the time i get away from 1 attack hes started his next and so on

scarlet hill
#

you simply dodge by sprinting out of the way

#

always make sure you save enough stamina to move

kindred hare
#

yea. thus the issue

scarlet hill
#

after i learnt some of the basics i been one trying all the bosses after elder now lol

#

im sure theres recorded boss kills on elder on youtube

#

like clean kills so ppl can learn how they position and manage their stamina etc

pliant hatch
#

Which weapons are you using to fight the Elder?

scarlet hill
#

i used fire arrows

vocal rivet
#

Heh.

scarlet hill
#

when elder spawns the adds under your feet, you move away and it resolves the entire attack

vocal rivet
#

Hey, that's unusual, I don't have a single edit on that page.

kindred hare
#

i got it. the attack that was killing me was going thru trees. i am standing behind the pillars and its fine now. sprinting was the wrong tip.

scarlet hill
kindred hare
#

that would be what i just said.

scarlet hill
#

i also just used those pillars as shields, but i have killed him without also haha

#

sprinting isnt the wrong tip cause you can simply move out of the way, the roots will follow you abit but it wont track as fast as your sprinting

kindred hare
#

except, when they do.

scarlet hill
#

you just need to sprint further away, and have enough stamina to do so

#

10 - 30 stamina shd be enough based on how far elder is

#

if i need alot of corewood i just get elder to mow down all the pine trees for me haha

light moat
# kindred hare except, when they do.

Hmm I feel moving away from the Elder isn’t the best move. When you’re far from him, that’s when he does his ranged attack. Personally, I like to stay close, dodge the stomp, and kill the roots basically as he summons them (the ones near me) so I can continue putting out damage.

I'd also say the secondary use for buttons

tiny tiger

If that solution doesn’t work, I recommend having another beam to the side and snapping off of that

west pulsar
#

Like idk how it is on pc but on console you gotta block to dodge

tiny tiger
#

Yeah it’s the same on pc with the roll

west pulsar
#

Gotcha

tiny tiger
#

The devs see rolling as a secondary dodge function

#

the idea seems to be to prioritise parrying

nocturne wolf
#

Jumping is better than rolling when available too

#

So it should be your third option

west pulsar
#

I need to try that

nocturne wolf
#

Jump attacking is very useful as it allows you to dodge while attacking and you can move horizontally a lot faster than on the ground

tiny tiger
#

dodge rolls work against slow really heavy attacks or really damaging ones like against bosses that you don’t know if you can parry or not

#

For moder I used a lot of dodge rolling but I could have probably been fine just blocking based on how much damage and stagger I was taking

#

Swamps are great. Good challenge, one of the hardest bioms id say.
Its a new char, I've only been up to mistlands

livid zenith
flat vector
#

That would explain it.
Never noticed that either, good eye.

vital umbra
#

jotun bane isn't as bad as i remember at tree chopping

foggy glacier
#

each subsequent axe is better at tree chopping than the previous.

merry pebble
#

It is an upgrade from BM axe after all (at least for chopping trees, for dmg in general its debatable)

vital umbra
#

i remember it being remarkably worse compared to the blackmetal axe for trees

#

because more damage being poison

merry pebble
#

I dont see why would it, it has 10 more chop dmg

#

the other dmg types make no difference

vital umbra
#

hm.

#

how intuitive that appears to be listed nowhere in-game.

#

i am 1000% not focused on the weapon aspects of this mid axe

merry pebble
#

Indeed it isnt, because it makes sense the higher tier axe will be better tool than the lower tier one

vital umbra
#

If you say so

vocal rivet
#

It really does.

true sable
#

Is there ever going to be a Ragnarok event?

merry pebble
#

Probably not

true sable
#

Dang

vocal rivet
#

It would make no sense to the story of Valheim.

flat vector
#

Maybe i just suck at it, but i really hope there's some improvements to fishing. Idk if I'm missing something, but in the near 700 hours I've played, I've rarely touched fishing. Any tips?

vocal rivet
#

No, I hate it as well.

flat vector
#

Haha, it's not terrible just janky.

merry pebble
#

I also dont like it much, but having all stam foods and mead at hand helps a lot šŸ™‚

true sable
#

Is it too much to ask for a flying ability somewhere near the end game material?

vocal rivet
#

We kinda do.

merry pebble
flat vector
#

Its very cool to imagine, at the very least

true sable
#

Like a hot air balloon or anything..

merry pebble
#

Nope

flat vector
#

In my head, id imagine you'd tame a drake or something, maybe have it carry you via rope like the small wyverns in monster hunter

true sable
#

Or atleast a staff that will teleport you to any of your portals you desire?

#

I spend a lot of time just traveling on foot, it’s very time consuming

merry pebble
flat vector
#

I've got a disconnected portal in my base for that reason. The inventory space is rough, but connecting back quickly before a death or to recharge is mighty helpful

true sable
#

It would be nice to have a wyvern Mount drop from the final boss.

vocal rivet
#

Would it? The game is over then, you'd have no time to use it.

true sable
#

I’d keep playing

vocal rivet
#

Why?

flat vector
#

My friend and I chatted about that.
A magic mirror type reward, acting similar to terraria's, would be an awesome reward for beating the game. But that's just me

half dragon
#

Slaying the bosses has never been the point of the game, has it? More of a just a thing to check off the list and move on so you can just keep doing whatever you want to do

true sable
#

I never stopped playing after all the other bosses. It’s sort of like Minecraft on steroids for me

vocal rivet
merry pebble
half dragon
#

or at least it's supposed to be, kind of like there is a main story in skyrim but who gives a shit? Completed it only once and played the game on 10+ different characters for hundreds of hours

vocal rivet
#

MOST people would care about the main story.

half dragon
#

all the side stories and DLC stories are far better...

vocal rivet
#

Just because some people enjoy pissing about buiding laggy monstrosities doesn't mean it's the aim of the game.

true sable
#

I enjoy the vibe of just sailing around building in new places, and trying to build new things. My wife and I sail around, fish, and explore together.

half dragon
#

if slaying the boss is all you care about how about just spawn it and type kill all in console?

vocal rivet
#

.... šŸ˜•

flat vector
#

Cause why do that when it's more rewarding to work for the battle itself

vocal rivet
half dragon
#

you do not

vocal rivet
#

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day.

cosmic summit
#

I've been plains tier for a year. I play off and on, but when I'm active all I do is improve my bases

half dragon
#

Good, I don't think you laugh very often

vocal rivet
flat vector
#

From an actual standpoint i guess I can see what they mean. It takes a while to beat a boss, and you really could just live in a handful of biomes without caring much else about the game. I guess i wonder what's the proper speed at which you should progress through a set of biome. At the end of the day its up to you, it's an open world survival game ykno. At the very least, until your comfortable to move on.

true sable
#

I started a new game with friends. There’s six of us and we lan party valheim every other Saturday. We love the game and if it wasn’t for the materials needed from the bosses, none of them would care about beating the bosses. šŸ˜‚

cosmic summit

Gotta farm the first boss for that sweet looking trophy

nocturne wolf
half dragon

4 friends and me started a coop world together. 1 of them was a bit unlucky, got salty and quit first day. 1 of them speedran to the last biome and finished the game in less than 10, me and the other 2 friends are still playing taking our time... can you guesss which ones of us 5 are enjoying the game most?

flat vector
#

Ok that's cap

vocal rivet
#

At no point have I said you couldn't play the game any one of a million ways. Of course you play the way you enjoy.

half dragon
#

And the way people play isn't always the way they would enjoy the most.

vocal rivet
#

Absolutely.

flat vector
#

I agree, your first experience could sour the rest of the game

true sable
#

Ok ok, hear me out.. a staff that launch’s you high into the air..

flat vector
#

Mods

merry pebble

so, a staff that summons a skyrim giant? šŸ¤”

also is there any like transportation that I can get. Like a horse or some way other the walking cause I am tired of tired so far away from my base and having to run ALL the way back like miles away

In the second biome you unlock portals and a faster boat

can you take the creatures back to your base

the ridable ones?

nocturne wolf

Yes

round hatch
nocturne wolf

You can tell if a creature is tameable by getting close and aiming at it. You will see ā€˜wild’ show next to their name.
Trap them somewhere with a food they like to eat and they’ll tame eventually.

round hatch
ripe grove

there's also some gear sets that slightly improve move speed (or don't make you slower) before you get to rideable tames too

nocturne wolf

Rideable creatures need saddles

If you find the bog witch you can craft Tonic of Ratatosk for increased movespeed

final bloom

Does Askvin Eggs hatch in open sky? It's near a bonfire

foggy glacier
#

yes, they just need to be near fire. Does the egg say it's warm?

and are they separated?

huh. i always covered my asksvin eggs when i hatched. i usually put them in a 4x4 box

No need for mods.

hi guys i have not played valheim for years, i wanted to share my world to friends. but im confused what to copy bec it has 2 folder now, worlds and worlds_local. can someone help me?,

final bloom

Open the game and make sure you have the world locally. If it's local it'll appear in "worlds_local"

unborn nexus

ignore that guy use mods

Use mods for something you can easily and more efficiently and safely do in vanilla, make it make sense.

can you get a pickaxe without killing Eikthyr?

pliant hatch
#

Yes, but it will be quite trouble some as it will require "Troll Mining".

vocal rivet
#

More effort than actually just doing the tutorial boss would be.

crude sparrow
#

So basically we don't need to kill any boss

pliant hatch

You will have to kill Moder, no matter what, as she drops an item that's required for future upgrades.

The other bosses can be skipped, but you will lack a useful power and some other key items to get the materials needed to process

Ok I will kill them...
Can we enter swamp's crypts using glitches?

pliant hatch

Bosses can't be killed by other creatures from other biomes.
They're the only monsters which can only be killed by the "player faction".
