I did many corpse run in multiplayer very hard combat, my strategy was always to eat, get rested while the food increase my hp and just run naked or with 1 single item to add another grave in case I die on the way, that way you have a corpse run to help you recover next attempt

if the world was created after the mistlands update, swamps stop generating almost at the exact same distance from the world's center at which mistlands start 😅

so if you see mistlands, you've gone too far

within the swamp ring, look for distant terrain that looks suspiciously flat, just above sea level. swamps raise and lower any terrain they populate to just that height with barely any variation, unlike any other biome, so they can very easily be spotted even before trees render in

I cant tell how far you are to the build stability limit. It would look great with some sort of medium-high tower. If you are willing to afford it you can grow a pine tree inside after raising the ground to be able to attach more components to it which are "grounded" to get more height

That shouldnt be to much an issue to swap out with Black Marble. You've got reinforced Iron beam support on the roof.

Dont break the stone all at once, but break it in 10 meter sctions, replace with black marble. rinse and repeat

okay now I understand it properly. Instead of having the middle stripes on the wall go straight up like a column, make an arch to the center. The space between arch an corner can be filled with some patter similar to the ones on top of the pillars.
An other solution is to keep it as it is. sometimes less is more. If you build on top of it you may raise the focal point directing the view upwards anyways. Therefore the empty space may not be that noticable.

Swamps stop generating at roughly the same distance Mistlands start, so if you see Mistlands you've gone too far.
I'd suggest exploring the area between the leftmost howling caverns and smouldering tomb markers, they're about the right distance.

Need some help, I’m working on vegetation and walkways. It’s my first time experimenting and I think I got the hang of the distance required for spawn planting. Any idea of how I should design the walkway? Should I ever add vegetation? Or should I instead have the walkway go to different somurrounding areas instead of the common “one entrance to another”

Hej, i lurked a while here now, and thought i also want to share my very first home and his growth :3
wife and i are playing on one map, the first one, since around shortly before the plains update. its roughly 300 hours now. We even started it, when she was "only" my girlfriend 🙂
sadly, the very first house got no direct picture, but we managed to always keep our main base at around the middle of the map. she found a small draugr home which we used for the first gamehours, its now our trophychest home. its the one in the first pic where im straight looking at.
it was cute af, but, considering we sometimes played as 3, ( my bro sometimes spawns in), we needed upgrades. so the first iteration of " it needs SIZE !>:) " came - the building on the right. the roofintegrity was the deepest bloodred imagineable 😄

After Months of playing, upgrades, stuff too hoard, we also grew a storage house, crophouse, smith. sadly, only one picture of that time exists - pic 2, taken from the other side. the weird sideway was our jumpingpath to the first catched pigs 😄
finally, the sleeping house, which also was the cooking station, just grew to big - after one final picture, i scrapped it ALL and went on a roughly 8 hour building streak. its the 3rd picture. btw, my wife and i are slow players with valheim. we mostly find time 1-2 times a month for roughly 4 or 5 hours.

im REALY happy with the result of our new home, but even this one now starts to get small - directly under the roof is the bath, treasurepot, magic table, in the middle are 2 sleeprooms with max resting bonus, ground is a big pub-style cookinghouse with some trophies and collections of memories :3 Maybe ill upgrade it again someday, but atm, its still enough - lets see, what the deep north will bring us.

I placed a cooking station and removed the fire under it and its still letting me place and cook food without a fire you can tell its cooking because of the smoke particles
I've been able to recreate this same effect every time, is this a known bug?
When placing a cooking station with no fire under it initally i cant cook anything like normal, but if I place a fire, then a cooking station above it, then remove the fire I can cook food on the cooking station as if there is a fire under it.

If you explore the Mistlands you tend to find mist-free spots of varying sizes pretty often. The real jackpot is finding one with a skull, infested mine or dvergr outpost.
Or with a nice biome border or several ancient roots.

I should clarify that my friend and I intentionally prank each other in game, and we both enjoy it.

I seriously hated this fight. Loved the entirety of Valheim until this specific point. Had to try different strategies with my friends to figure out something and my conclusion was to lower the difficulty of combat and have herculean patience. I really wonder if me and my friends are the only people thinking the same

Me and my friends felt the same way about bonemass we just needed to find the right way to fight him and the right way to fight him I found is with magic and fig by bosses with a group is very difficult.

Man, I fought Fader in a duo at first and then with an additional friend, both times felt just the same, the guy wouldn't let us breathe at all. In comparison, fighting bonemass first time was really hard, but manageable. I find out quickly what was bonemass's weakness but apparently Fader has none.

Have you tried the berserkir mead? It has no cooldown so you can use it back to back and fire mead plus bonemass power you're basically a god for 5 minutes. And if there's 3 of you all using bonemass back to back that's 15 minutes worth of god mode assuming you have enough berserkir meads to last that long. But he should be dead well within 15 minutes. I think there was a guy claimed he did it on very hard in under 5 minutes.

We used bonemass, eikthyr powers to run from the fire and a few berserkir meads, only thing we forgot was the fire mead. The main worry was to able to get our items back and restart without being killed by the other mobs around our runback. Which I tried to make it close to the arena but Fader destroyed the whole base with our beds.

I don't think I've ever had fun with a boss in this game.

Combat in general feels more suited to provide resistance and make other elements like exploration more fun. It's not really enjoyable by itself.

I was about to say soulslikes may have spoiled me, but if Wii Sports Resort and Minecraft both have better combat, that can't be an unfair comparison.
