Stone but with like 4x the strength and build height.
There are thin pieces too. And basically you just build large enough that the bigness makes sense.
fyi u probably noticed already but i got no clue about building it just happened by accident that i made an okay base
do u think i can fit enough in here like all crafting stations and storage while it also look good
Does anyone actually have a clue about building? 😉
We all out here just winging it.
I make separate buildings for the individual crafting stations.
u flatten everything inbetween those?
Depends on area 🤷♂️
Usually not, given size of buildings.
how big would u say
I don't typically, but this run I did also. Just need to get home and grab a screenshot or 2 to show it off.
i can already imagine them looking amazing lul
maybe i also picked a bad spot for my base cuz its very hilly here
Hills are hard to take into consideration with(out) pre-planning. You could also use them to your advantage and dig out a "basement" between them if they are close to one another. I do something similar to store all the work bench upgrades.
i just looked from some other point and i just see i am just making excuses lmao this isnt that hilly at all
I mean... everything is easy to consider relative to how long you spend pre-planning 😉
Yep, and now I see a error in that statement that I need to fix.
So long as your obliterator isn't down there...
No no.
Usually on a black marble roof somewhere.
Last kitchen basement was actually 8m deep because you can cheat yourself an extra meter of depth by building on top of a Tar Pit 😁
dont tar pits respawn their growths?
If you build absolutely no spawn prevention, yes.
lmao i totally didnt forget about that
If you're very, very worried about it, you can always enabled console and use the forcedelete command specifically targeted at the spawner object.
(Can also be used on TarLiquid if there's a tiny bit stuck in the grass somewhere you can't get rid of)
OH MY GOD
but i hate the look of it
with iron pillars does that help
Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder 🤷♂️
ig
anyone got any ideas for a small plains farm? preferably simple cuz i cant build to save my life
i usually take some stone and make some layered terraces with organic shapes
Stone vs. Black Marble is how you make chess boards 😁
I'll usually renovate one of the plains forts, and then build a wall around that with a pathway to the sea
how can i make this roof lower than it is rn?
i also hate how the middle cant reallybe supported with the wide column cuz it will go through the roof
thanks!
i see thank you!
looks like a pretty place to build a tree base
similar position close. seed is IjQfDJXI8w. top of the spawn island
looking for neat ideas to border my farm, that won't interfere with the plants growing. anyone got anything good?
Walls 😉
i was under the impression that walls prevent plants from growing.
Only if they are really, really close.
i guess i can just do 1m poles, then 2m straight pieces off the ground, and only reinforce with 1m pole when necessary
that's a minimum of structure on the group to interfere
this is what i went with
so only the 1m post interfere
Share some recent castles, hope you like them.😋Hogwarts! Hogwarts!
So I’m working on a tower with black marble. Idea is like a magician’s tower as I run the Embla set. My main issue is the structure weakening at block height 10. Any ideas to improve stability at like height 15?
I’ll admit I’m a bit of an amateur builder. I just need a nudge in the right direction.
At 10m? Or are you talking about the big blocks?
That’s weird
I’m not on unlevel ground either.
We checked several times before construction.
I was thinking of using the wood-iron beams, but I wasn’t too sure. Either that or the flametal beams. But those are way too expensive.
What I generally do is to put iron beams in the corner or anywhere where it can be hidden and I extend them in a Y shape with the 45° ones, so it doesn’t cost too much or add a lot of instances and the beams doesn’t loose any strength
For a tower, one row of beam would be enough if you manage it well enough, you just have to put some more where it’s necessary
Gotcha. I’ll try that out in a bit and update.
If you need more iron, the mistlands abandoned armors and bridge have a lot of it in them. The trollstav is particularly efficient with the meteor for that
I will add that you can do a combo wombo !
Add some sort of pillars that stick out of your tower and hide the iron beams completly inside ! 🙂
I personally often use black marble for that 😄
You can try to raise the ground in the inner circle of the tower. And surrounded by marble outside the raised ground, it can form a slender tower body.
Thanks, guys. Tried the wood-iron beams. Worked like a charm.
planning on building Rooks Nest from dance of dragons. Just need muh stone and a good spot
going to use the wall slammed dragon for size reference
Yes I know about it
ose som one have a video with a nice armor disply case?
#building-ideas message
This was in this section when you search "display".
There is also ones for weapons like: #valheim-public-test message
Is there a website for building ideas that aren’t YouTube clips?
I recently found this weird website with a lot of medieval house artworks, some are definetly very cool and would be worthy of building in valheim !
https://en.idei.club/52588-medieval-fantasy-building.html
Wouldn't be surprised if it is all AI generated but who cares
Has anyone considered building hyrule or the temple of Time?
could probably be done, so long as you don't mind not being able to recreate the designs like the Triforce, but it'd be a massive undertaking
What should i build next?
i got
blacksmith
house 1
house 2
farm house with plots
lumberjack's house
and now I'm finishing harbor
idk what to build next i was thinking about portal room with clock but i dont have any idea on design
tavern (for mead & comfort), butcher shop (for cooking), storehouse (self explanatory), and for the "clock", I recommend watching the Valheim Sundial video by Crate Of Bananas on youtube
ohh tavern and butcher house sounds nice
After making the pig farm (2 stars), we got a lot of food. It would be nice to have a place to store it.
our storage is full of meat
start breeding wolves and watch that change
im still on iron-era
you can easily lure a single wolf out of the mountain to trap and tame with iron gear. trick is to not sprint until the wolf gets close enough to bite, then sprint immediately, it'll always miss
btw what wolves give?
meat, fur, and fangs
oh oke
Anybody get on to build and stare at the screen struggling to get the creative juices going
All the time. I only build now when I "need" something in game (more storage, new crafting bench), or when I have a stroke of inspiration that i want to try out
You can watch me finish my tower if you want ^^
But I warn ya, it'll be laggy as hell 😄
I'm in Odin's Greathall 🙂
Appreciate it but im in a bad wifi area anyway
Eh, I'll stay there anyways if you or anyone else wants a sneak peak
Anyone have a good suggestion for a fireplace that I can use in an open air kitchen?
All of the variations I've used seem to keep smothering the flames so they go out off and on.
Pagoda and hearth? Kinda like those covering in state parks that have the Charcoal grills in them...let me hop on and see if I can't make a quick example.
Something like that.@rugged forge I have the kitchen downstairs, and an open eating deck that's covered with a roof.
I just noticed that my fire always seems to go out.
the wind and rain will sometimes put fires out. you could try having half walls bordering the outside of the structure.
Is 2m square enough space though? do I need to make it wider?
I don't have the iron stations yet just the campfires.
ah, ok. what biome are you in so I can get a sense of building materials you might use?
I'm building in the plains so there's always a lot of wind and rain
It rains every time I turn around.
so do you have hearth(s) and a stonecuter or just wood?
Just wood atm
I only just beat Elder with help. So I haven't even been in the swamp, yet. However, the island where my big swamp is had this really nice place to build
ah. ok
No monsters to speak of or anything like that. I built a second village there. The cooking area is just giving me a little trouble though.
so basic wood, corewood and campfires.
Yes that's about what I have to work with
@vast finch #building-screenshots message something like this? I made it 8mX8m but it could be made smaller.
@rugged forge I had to take out the chimney. Let me log in and show you what I've gotten built. That looks good btw. hang on.
very likely because it is to exposed to the wind. try adding some walls close to the fire.
K I'll give it a try and let you know how things go, later. @rugged forge I was trying to get this place a bit more established to be able to hop back and forth you know.
I don't often build "open" buildings except micro lighthouses to show from a distance "this is the river you need to take home and is mostly safe to do so". otherwise my newest workshop and half-circle portal hub are open concepts. but they are stone and use a ton or iron. I'll toss it into the building screenshot section.
Ok thank you. @rugged forge much appreciated.
I need great hall type ideas
@crystal veldt Here is my longhouse
Anybody got a build on a tree in the Meadows using only starter materials and fine wood?
Branch Haven: A cozy eyrie, suspended between heaven and earth, where the sounds of the forest create a symphony of peace and contemplation. The warm glow of the hearth and the soft filtering of sunlight through the leaves above cast a sense of serenity, inviting weary travelers to rest and rejuvenate within its sturdy boughs. it's a lovely build, but uses a lot of end game materials ^

Chimney 🔥
huh, neat trick there
I wonder if anyone has incorporated a tar pit into a build... like still filled with tar.
I saw someone do that .. like a mud bath, but stickier 🤣
I tried but the tar enemies kept spawning even with a workbench if the tar pit was full
I think you just have me an idea for a pizza oven haha
awesome
another chimney

(got it ? ashtag... 🥶 )
Sculpting some Ents
How do you even think of that, insanely cool build!
the ceiling looks too low for anything practical, unless you want to put bed in the middle. 🤔
I can only think of rp room for leisure..
i got the same room on the other side as a bedroom and a stoll with shild on top for some fancy furniture
that feels incredibly cramped, but I suppose it is the best that can be done with the space
ill make a portal room to the other side
King's Bed : All-In-One 19 Comfort 👑
should i build a portal area
if so any cool ideas?
plenty of portal hub ideas on the internet
It's unnecessary considering you will only realistically need no more than 3-5
Which gives it the more reason to just build a small one. Just three is enough
i love having many portals always connected, and scattered through my world. I can zip through a portal, make a boat, go somewhere much easier because i have them all setup. So for me, your 3-5 limit is not enough.
many players tend to have multiple bases spread out across the world, with portals connecting each. you also likely need portals connecting to Spawn, Haldor, and Hildir. 3-5 portals would never cut it for me, personally
i like the idea of connecting a path of mushrooms with portals, so i can zip around the world getting them lol
or cloudberries. hah.
gotta have a portal to quickly return to base too, in case you run out of supplies while exploring/sailing
i leave an untitled portal for that. so it links to it automatically
point is, only people making a specific effort to use as few portals as possible will stay within the 3-5 number stated above
yes. i stated that 3-5 portals is very limiting earlier
what should i do for a bedroom in my FIRST longhouse build, am bad at interiors 😭
a big chimney in the middle and use the chimney as table with chairs then make a storage room to where the old chimney was
wdym use the chimney as a table ?
like 4 sticks going to the cieling and then tables across them and chimney in the middle
I do that with loads of things that need farming for a while.
Berries, shrooms, Surtling spawners, infested mines and sap
atm looks like this
am thinking if i should tweak it so that i can make a second floor to work
looks very cool
so i alrdy have a basement storage, so if id use the middle one for hmmm.. am tryna thinkg if something else as a underground space would work
oh yeah, that would be nice
I wanted to recreate some Warcraft 3 buildings
I started with Orcs and Crossroad than someone said do Elves next and here I am 😅 I build elven town than Temple on water what lead to Elven Forrest and now I'm building Forrest part with all kinds of ents and magical stuff
dammit now I wanna build another longhouse
cartography table & storage boxes maybe. looks fitting for the space.
this was a storage room before i made a bigger one and moved them now i placed 1 portal in middle but i feel like ita waste of space
portal room ideas 🤔
did you repair the green wood on right side
Does anyone know cool stuff to add my base with stone bricks
The hammerbeam roof, sterling castle Scotland. May require some iron for valheim builds, but looks awesome
Looks similar to the great hall in Edinburgh castle- but they have lighting
getting ideas from rl awsome
looking for ideas, thought I'd post here, I'm building a new dock but do not have access to the final ship yet (still trying to fight the queen solo). Ideas on the layout? should I make a U shaped dock with the Longship in the middle with access to the ends or build one center dock going into the water with access on both sides for ships? keeping in mind i still will need to dock the new Ashlands ship as well
@runic wing I only have one stone dock in Funland2. Hang on and I'll take a screenie of it. I made it so any ship could just pull next to it, if you can slow ^.^; down enough. Might add a stone stopping point later as needed.
@runic wing I hope this can help you find some inspiration. I didn't make mind any wider, since I plan on making a few different stone docks in Funland2 on this continent. Adding a forge and work station for repairs and a portal with a storage box was just me thinking ahead for exploration sake.
@vast finch Thanks, yeah this'll help get me started, im planning on making it big with a bit of a lighthouse at the end. I want to park 2-3 ships there. and I see you put a portal on it, good idea for moving goods off the ship i'll have to remeber that
@runic wing If you look at the under part of my dock, you'll see that I had to use stone flooring and inside that little alcove below are bracing pillars.
If you don't give the upper floor enough bracing, it'll keep crumbling
any ideas on what i can do here feels kinda empty
@woeful osprey What kind of space are you trying to build in this room? Might have some ideas, if you can tell us that.
anything good if it has portals cuz i got no portal room
If you are going to put portals there in that hallway, that's a little small, but you could put a couple near the windows.
any decoration ideaS?
@woeful osprey Could also put a barber's station and a bath in that room. The bath could be enclosed in banners, if you have the patience to put them in around it.
is bath in iron
spit balling future ideas too.@woeful osprey That's why I mentioned it.
What all have you unlocked bronze wise?
im at iron rn
you should be able to unlock the baths soon, if you have the stone cutter.
i do
Could also put in a table with chairs, if you are cooking in there.
Might make a good dining area.
i got a dining area in the right
The round table is great for small spaces.
ah I see it now. Well other than the barber chair and baths, I can't think of much, unless you want to turn one window into a doorway for a cart to come inside.
Did you see what I had posted in the other server about the gazebo idea?@woeful osprey
i did
that sounds cool
Couldn't log in last night to build a demo. So I tried to make a diagram to help. Like I said there, there were a few ideas in some of the other servers with portal rooms. Someone posted in screenshots where they build a huge one out of stone. @woeful osprey kind of looks like stone henge in a way, when it wasn't just random stones.
It's Mordis's build in Building Screenshots.
looks really cool actually might make smth like that
@woeful osprey Good luck Tuna. I have to go here in the next little bit to the doctor. :3 would love it, if you show us what you do with the place later.
Thank you.
anyone made a big beehive ad live in it i just thought of it and its very doable living in a big bee hive with the other beehives around you
I kind of did a wooden beehive house to my honey farm, however, the less-than-60% cover ruins the thing because their radius is around 25 meters (also the structure itself also blocks the cover thing); It would have to be a gigantic building... You could try.
Just fill the place up with all different items 🙂 Make some shelves, add item stands and place food, jam jars etc Put shields and banners up on the walls. Make a little table with some item stands near your forge and place down a sword, some nails and a hammer 🤷♂️ Get creative 😄 Make it feel cozy
no XD
i got a crazy idea ill send it after i make it
To you thou put thy thoughts out and shall see it be made
do anyone have any pics or layouts for a grand staircase for like the entrance of a castle?
would this bridge look better without a roof or with a roof
and does this build look good?
I like the roof as it gives more visual interest from a difference. Seems like it would be in the countryside somewhere.
thanks
aint no1 getting freaky with snap points like me
Stavkirk v Borgunne, Norway. Okay. 1150.
New building idea
looks cool i thought it was an ingame buld for a sec
ive been here, the fkn size of it is insne
Who will undertake 😂
maybe with mods 😅
I built a bee farm, here some old pics
looks cool thanks for showing it
Really liked it. Tried to reproduce
That looks fantastic!
Early attempt at building it. I've since built a better version after much trial, error, and calculations, but haven't gotten a pic of it yet. You'll find that several people have built Stave churches, they're a fun build. Good luck if you undertake it.
the ceiling looks reaaaaly good
Thanks. This is how entire building looks for now
that look awesome! love all the detailing. good job with it.
having some issues deciding how to decorate the interior of this building
Really nice interior idea.
That dock goes hard
love the designs in the corewood, very creative use
thanks peeps!
creative/survival, mods?
Yeah this does look really amazing, this is the plan I will do, trial and error and figuring it out 🙂
Survival
then no, maybe when i accumulate enough stone
And on mods or just having raw materials would you do?
starting a new cliffside build
good luck with that😬 I personally absolutely hate to buld on cliffs
Yes, it's a lot of work🥵
I made a huge Long Viking house with inspiration from JJ Builder go follow him on YouTube he is great I made the long house my version making it twice as bigger and I tried to make it as cozy as possible like what he did with a twist of my taste (youtube title is: "Valheim Ashlands - I Made a Viking Longhouse with the New Ashwood Build Pieces")
This is what the house look from the outside.
is that Mistlands?
No its just very Foggy, thats meadows
Build your own Ents
would be nice if you would give at least give credit from your inspiration, since your build is almost like a 1:1 copy from the "JJ the builder" on youtube.
(youtube title is: "Valheim Ashlands - I Made a Viking Longhouse with the New Ashwood Build Pieces")
it basically looks like a replica.
Nothing wrong with that, but giving credit would be the least thing to do.
Black forest bro
So cool 😄
how sould i fill theese in i need some chest places but rest is just decoration
Ohh yeah I forgotttt My Apologies yeah yeah the inspiration is from JJ builder; I made it 10x better like twice bigger sorry again and Thanks Bro
Yeah its half black forrest it was built somewhere between them
The Idea is from JJ Builder Long Viking House with a twist of mine he is on YouTube he is Great.
Hello, Valheim community! 🎮
I have a video on my YouTube channel with some ideas for docks for almost all types of ships in Valheim. If you're interested, I'd love to hear your feedback. If you liked any of the designs, there are links in the video description with instructions for each dock.

Looks like the building from Skyrim…. Ummm The Companions guild building
Omg I wish I saw this earlier! I messed up the width of my dock for the new ashlands boat so now have to make mine wider, I made a U shaped dock for that main ship
Amazing... this video just made me want to play valheim for more 1000 hours
I always put the ship first and then build the dock around it, so you can never go wrong with the size). I can't dare to build a dock for a drakar, it's too big). but if I do build it and I like it, I will make a video instruction)
Hi guys, is there any mod to flatten ground in one command ?
Hello Valheim Friends,
I wanted to try out the Mod Elemental Falls to see how I could use moving water in a build. Just wanted to share my results. I also have a Bifrost bridge included in this build

Hello, Valheim community! 🎮
I have a video on my YouTube channel where I built a house on a cliff. I'd love to hear your thoughts or feedback! The video is divided into sections, so if you're not interested in watching the entire building process, you can just check out the final result.
This video shows the full process of building a house on a cliff in the game Valheim.

The house is mostly made of wood, but the kitchen floor and chimney are made of stone. 40% of the house stands on a hard surface, the rest of the house is supported by a wooden frame. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, a dining room and a terrace with wo...
i saw this and wanted to recreate it in valheim but i should have started in the lower floor first =_=
or you'll end up like me and having half of the house in the ground lol
im putting it there if there's anyone like me who needs a nice looking small house
Anyone have some good pics of a small keep/castle build? I have a mountain that goes down to sea level straight across the channel to Ashlands and I want to build a small Keep on it to use as a staging spot
But I am struggling for inspiration
HI my Valheim friends. I have made a great automatic chicken breeder. If you want to check it out its here https://youtu.be/8T1sUDuIyH4. I have also added a farmhouse to it in the 2nd video and a 3rd video is coming with an automatic slaughterhouse. Love to hear your thoughts and see pics if you build it yourself. thanks so much you lovely people.
Have you always wanted to get an Automatic, unlimited supply of chickens and eggs, this is how you do it. #valheimbuilding #chicken #egg #automaticeggs #chickenbreeder #chickenfarm #Valheim #easy

Hello, Valheim community! 🎮
A new video just went live on my YouTube channel, where I built a dock for the Drakkar. I'd love to hear your thoughts or feedback! The video includes a showcase of the final result.
This video shows the result of my 2-day work on building a dock for Drakkar in Valheim.
The dock is equipped with all the necessary privileges to survive in this game. Also, all structures are protected from weather conditions, so the building can be used in practice.
Did you enjoy the video? I would greatly appreciate your support in the for...
@rapid stirrup Step down flooring isn't that uncommon though o.o were you able to square it off inside to put out your furniture?
i abandoned it because i couldn't figure out the size of each rooms. it was either too big or too small. as well as the ceiling height 😓
i want to try later after when i figure out all these things :D
anyone here that might be able to give some inspiration for a small-ish castle/keep? planning to build with grausten and maybe a bit of black marble for some sections of the flooring
@rapid stirrup Well if you are using 2x2 panels, have you ever tried planning out a floor plan on Excel? You can use 82x82 pixel squares to simulate the panel space and count everything in one floor or another by measures of two. I do that sometimes, myself, ^.^ maybe I'll take a screenie of one at some point. It might help though.
You could visualize the floor size that way.
work in progress :D
is there any solution to make the cliff look less ugly ? lol
also if i continue to dig, would the big ass tree fall on me and i would instant die ? 🤔
i would be upset if it falls and then destroy my newly made house 🥲
nvm it just slides onto the ground lol
If you continue to dig, the "stump" will...I don't want to say fall, because it doesn't fall like it would if you cut it down. It just...moves down. You can chop it at your leisure, and even then, when you fell the tree, if it hits your house it'll only be minor repairs, unless it bounces and even then you shouldn't have a problem. Houses get rekt when you have 4 or 5 trees fall on 'em, not one 🙂
here's a little trick to make sure you don't have to worry about pesky crafting table placement when building. This only works if you're not using a basement, of course, and is only needed if the building itself is not intended to have crafting tables 🙂 Just cover it up with your choice of flooring 🙂
What would a rough minimum size area be good for a simple crafting and storage base? Trying to set up a basic port before going back to ashlands. Don't need it for food, farming, smelting, etc. Just craft stations and rest buff. 2 story building most likely.
ohh nice thx
is there any nice looking and easy to make portal hub ? i did one that looks super ugly and it was so high i had a very hard time doing the roof xd now i finished it. although i spent the whole day making it, i am not satisfied at all. i want to redo it >_<
so looking for a portal hub idea that doesn't take too much floor space
i usually do a 4x5 for the workshop and for the storage i put it on the side so in total, it's 6x5
without the side storage, it's 4x5, with at least 8 chest in it
I am in the process of building the footprint now, it may take a while as the physics are a real pain to work round
Yo if you do that holy shit that'd be insane. 1:1 scale?
Landscaping the area is proving to be my bigest chalenge at the moment
especialy as i am a bit of a purist and want to see if it can be achieved vanila. i think the nearest i am going to get is an aproximation to be honest
this was my attempt at helms deep
Nice, thanks. Took a bit, but got a little forward base stared in a black forest close to ashlands
@rapid stirrup Looking good ^.^
Haha ok ok 😅
how you did the cliffs around?
spawn rock1_mountain
spawn rock2_mountain
spawn rock3_mountain
spawn rock 2_heath
spawn rock4_heath
Note: when you spawn you spawn dead center of where you are standing, that goes for xy axis as well as front back and side to side, so effectively you act a dead center 🙂 hope this helps
okay, thanks
Minas Tirith... The Beginning 🙂
Minas Tirith taking shape nicely 🙂
are there any guys here that are nomads in valheim? never really settled a home? what was ur goto builds for ur base?
im not sure what you are asking, a house for someone without a house?
You mean speedrunners mostly? And do you mean without portals? As everyone builds some defendable build sometime. Unless you do no-portal and deconstruct half your base when moving biomes...
for context i was planning to constantly island hop but this would be a pain given how progression is tied to having a home with bunch of crafting stations, farms, etc
so was wondering if anyone actually did a nomadic playthrough, how did yall do it?
On a test world, I had everything trough portals enabled, build a small shack that would fit everything that was needed, a small outdoor area for some crops, smelter(s), killn and a tame or three.
When I was done with that spot, I would sail around and look for another spot in or near the next biome I was going to scout, put a portal down to the base.
Demolished everything and took it with me, build it back up and renamed the portal.
For base defense I mostly went with earthen walls.
this feels like a pretty neat way of making a bridge, or even as a platform to build a proper bridge from 🤔
I think waves could break it.
that would have to be a lot of 0.something bits of damage
During normal weather sure. I'm not so sure once it gets stormy.
what was ur rest buff timer at?
6 or 7 comfort with quick, cheap and easy things, like a deer rug, chair, ...
I can't wait to get to the plains, I want to build a big fancy stonework base, probably a star fort for extra flair
Raise the earth nice and high, then build tall hollow walls so I can get on the battlements, it'll be glorious
A 4x2 small kitchen in early phase
A 45° roof tile above your fire that leads to the outside is a good way to vent the smoke and prevent rain from coming in.
It's one way to solve the smoke problem. But I use another method
All methods are good as long as you don't die from smoke inhalation.
The key point of the chimney is not the roof above fire
You can build any style you want
Wouldn't the flat one let the rain through tho?
It's indoor kitchen
Yeah, no cooking allowed on rainy days
I know Fallingwater when I see it!
If there is enough space in the "smoke box" above the fire, it will safely accumulate there then eventually get deleted and fill up again. If it's done indoors it's fine. I racked up over 1000 hours before I learned you don't have to have an outside chimney 😁
finished my siheyuan (a chinese architecture type of housing) and i am quite satisfied with the appearance and the sizing of it. idk how to improve it in the details
2nd picture is the chimney of the living room, it's not hidden and i am not satisfied with its look, so might redo it
3rd pic is the kitchen's it's ok-ish but if yall have a better idea, im open to any new suggestion
4th the courtyard, where the garden should be but it is a bit narrow so might do some change to it 🤔
5th pic, where the bathroom is but it has smokes, so i need to rethink how to make it look like a flat roof
last pic is my reference picture
modified courtyard & living room's chimney. does anyone know where to look for interior decoration for the living room ? i don't like how it looks with what i done
@rapid stirrup Versaugh has a number of good videos on pieces to build, as does ZomZero, they might give you some ideas.
Thanks !
Ghost Builds on youtube has some great ideas for interior and exterior decorating.
Are there any builds for 4-6 player multiplayer bases? I wanna make a "final" base for my friend group in the plains, and I am struggling to find a proper, max-comfort bedroom that doesn't shove people together on Dragon Beds
I know a lot if people have multiplayer village bases where each person builds their own max comfort home to their liking and the group shares workshops, kitchens, smelters etc.
One dragon bed covers a decent area -they can be interspersed with narrow Ashlands beds, or a couple hidden in a false ceiling. Christmas trees can be up in the chimney space or in a false wall. I've got a base which has hidden rooms down one entire side -workbench bonus items hidden away and also my personal oh-shit portal.
nice foot massage also
Do you guys have layout of an ancient roman house
(I want it for my plains base)
And im asking for a small one
If you're interested in a new way to build a breeding pen, I've created a video of the demo pen I built on the Coffeeheim server: https://youtu.be/_X_yKcZ1MNM?si=BeJtIJBTZr3hi_m0
Very happy to answer any questions. No mods or devcommands required.
Now with Chickens mixed in with the Boar. Same mob rules apply to keeping the breeders away from the rest of the pack. Successfully filled the pit to the point where "Chickens Ate My FPS". Added a Wolf breeding section.
Join the Coffeeheim server to take the tour and sample the goods.
For pavement to a stairway, which pattern looks best? Please vote, the number is displayed in each screenshot.
A vission came to me! I was thinking, looking at all the Mistlands stuff I just unlocked 'Wow, I need a new building for all this... hmmm maybe a mad science laboratory... no no no, thats not it.... A WIZZARD'S TOWER! Ok ok, where tho? I don't want it next to the castle and make it look small and it doesn't super fit the theme... Hmm I kinda want it in the black forest, a wizzard tower would look bad to the bone with all the pine around and dark greens...
THEN IT HIT ME!!! THE ELDER ALTAR! I'M GOING TO BUILD A WIZZARD'S TOWER ON TOP OF THE ELDER ALTAR!
The build idea: A functioning slide from one base to another using roof slates maybe. If should fail; sky bridge for the gods. Anyone know how to setup multiple players (not just the host) in a server with the nocost dev command? ie I need more hands.
Been working on getting better with the newer Grasuten Pieces. Let me know what you guys think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncyhzIFWSKw

im looking for ideas for a structure to hold all my armor on armor stands. I'd call it an armory, but most armories i've found online show only weapons and no armor; and what I'm really after is something like might appear in an assassin's creed game: all your armors on armor stands in their own individual display areas, all housed in one fancy structure.
anybody have any thoughts?
the skyrim Heartfire dlc has an armory that you can build for your home and has a similar setup as the AC ones 👀
is this for valheim or skyrim?
you're looking for ideas/inspiration for a Valheim build, right? 👀
yes. but i wasn't aware valheim had any DLCs
and Skyrim does have the Hearthfire DLC
i was just confused
and then, i ciouldn't find any mods dealing with skyrim, so made me more confused
i'm just saying that this could be inspiration for your armory
OH
I wish the armor stands in Valheim would just swap your armors. Like take the ones you’re wearing and put them on the stand while also taking the armor off and putting it in the same slots in your inventory to replace the armor you just put on the stand
On my way to prepare a grausten/ashwood/stone/black marble ramp elevation for this terrain bridge so I don't have to mine these grausten spires away for construction
does anyone have any base build ontop of these rocks? was thinking of triyng it out
I have only holes digged in the middle of these stones because of the treasure chests buried there :-D
I've seen screenshots here about 5-6 days ago where someone had good looking house on one of those large stone pillars in Plains biome.
But these small stones might provide solid base for a small base :-).
And I'm thinking about hollowing some large rock (looks like copper deposit) to make "underground" house.
Btw. have you tried building a tree house? I was planting some Oak the other day and a few of them can make quite robust tree platform.
i found something! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGobOtPJJw8 quite simple which is what i was going for
ya a tree house design was my original thought aswell
nice. I wasn't expecting Pine in tree house project :-D
But stone circle used is the one with larger boulders.
I think you should be able to fit challengingly minimalistic house on stone circle you posted before :-)
is there a forum for builds like there is for seeds?
Does anyone here have any ideas for a thematically appropraite Ashlands logging camp?
I'm thinking flammetal pillars for the thematic stuff, along with iron rebar
It would be dope if we could get a forum, kinda like enshrouded’s server has for building. Been a life changer for inspiration in that game!
thats one thing I love about enshrouded's server, you know the forum channel wasnt there until someone asked for it
#building-screenshots is just packed with everyone's builds all mixed in
What?! There's treasure?!
Has anyone found some other ways to do some nice grausten roof corners? ive got this thing rn but wondering if anyone else had some stuff they've used in their builds
theres still a gap on the inside but ive got it partially covered with the blue jute curtain and the light from the brazier might bleed in and look a bit cooler idk
Hello Valheim community! 🎮
I just posted a new video on my YouTube channel where I created my version of the perfect starter home. the house is made from the resources available at the start of the game and is easy to build. I will be very grateful for your feedback.
This video shows the complete process of building a starter cozy house made of wood near the forest in the game Valheim.
This starting house is made only from materials that are available at the start of the game. so it can be built right from the start. The construction o...
Just beat elder so I can go get stone. Armory is gonna be one of my first rooms for a major base.
Anyone got some inspiration for a blast furnace stucture?
am trying to get some nice ambient lighting set up, does anyone have any good ideas besides just scattering yellow mushrooms all over the place?
like this
You can place swamp keys underneath your floors to give them a nice glowy dance club look
oh right i forgot there are other glowing items, like Yagluth totems which give a purple glow, but they cost a lot for just lighting..
could maybe farm elder keys with tamed wolves
Hi everyone
I'm making a little garden / central place park in my village and I do not know how to decorate it
I just put a tree with a bench underneath
I wanted to make a statue or someting similar, I play in vanilla so I can't put little trees or bushes
any suggestion ?
Use the things you grow as flower decorations.
You can place grass over the flowers after they grew up, no need to keep the dirt
ooooooh
I put some seeds and was waiting them to grow up to see if I could do it
perfect thank you very much
you could build a small garden bridge
i can show you how tomorrow
but i ll need to record it first
but it ll be easy in vanilla
would love to, buddy
Hello, Valheim community! 🎮
I’ve just uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel where I’ve upgraded my starter house, let's say, to the Iron Age. I made this video for inspiration, but if anyone likes it, they can easily recreate the build by following the video. I’d really appreciate your feedback!
This video shows a complete upgrade of the starting cozy house made of wood near the forest in the game Valheim.
We have improved the startup house to the Iron Age. We increased its size, replaced the thatched roof with a resin roof, arranged two workshops outside, and pla...
Sry, I was a bit off the grid. Yes, maybe the best source of silver necklaces.
You can just start digging around inside the stone circle, or use wishbone to get exact match.
You'll find a basic wooden chest buried there.
Nice! Thank you for the tip 🥰
Too bad I already made my current circle a portal hub......
I think it’s only the small circles of stones, which are I think are actually graves
I don’t think I ever approached a big circle of stones with a wishbone so I don’t really know
Wrong channel, needs to be in modded screenshots.
Lol messing with you, this is insanely cool and I’m 100% using this. Thanks for sharing!
wisplights, if you have the tech, but used sparingly. Sconces if you don't have the wisplight tech
i was looking for more softer ambient lighting with the source hidden behind objects to give off a gentle glow, that way the light would be easier on the eyes cause the fire from torches, sconces, etc is brutal with bloom turned on

this one nails it:
HOWW???? Duuuude this is a whole new level of neatness...
dverger circlets on item stands
did you make the signs invisible somehow? 👀
i got it off reddit so who knows? could be they used the same trick i did:
#screenshots message
@dusky grottothose might be the signs, and they probably used something like voffset with a negative value, like this: <#ffffff><voffset=-50>text
The wall is made of medium-sized grausten timber. Imitates brickwork.
Very neat. I did this, but with wood. Just one wall, tho. But instances going hiiiigh xD
That gonna cost lots of Grausten 🫣 but looks cool nevertheless!
To build such a house, I destroy old castles in the ashlands
😉
Yeah I do that too, Demolisher is quite good for gathering Grausten, but even my Grausten Hall took a lot of Grausten to build so imagining how much it would cost Grausten if built like your style 😅
We have over 12 people playing on our South African Dedicated Server for Valheim. With those numbers, we have a central point where Trade, Raiding, and other logistics can be organized and hosted.
A simple way of building a starter house. Just find some rocks forming circles and build some walls between them. Then you can just build whatever you want in the middle.
The stones in those stone circles are also indestructible so using it as foundation is also a good idea.
Yea and now I've added a moat around it and a bridge so it's even more safe.
any ideas what to use to cover the top of the dvergr metal wall in front of the fire on the left that blocks less of the fire than the flametal beam on the right?
I discovered a stone circle in plains during my first party ever of Valheim. I. wasn't high level enough but it was very defensive and lovely, will try to find old map to send it to you
The plain stone circles can be destroyed though, the meadows stone circles can't if I'm not mistaken.
Still nice to build in and on just a tad less defensive.
Building on those giant stone pillars in the plains is also fun.
yes, figured it out during goblins raids
The plains stone circles aren't indestructible tho but still a good foundation to a build.
Just learned you can stack bone stacks... I may use this when I hit Ashlands and they just start throwing asstons of frags at you.
anyone have any ideas for like a beefarm? i've got like 14 hives and i don't want them just scattered all over the place
They only need to be like 2m apart. So you can make a legit grid and just place them at all the points on it.
But if that is too compact for your liking, it is at least a good starting reference point.
Personally, I never go over 12.
hello, im interested of your design. may i know what light do you use ?
Dvergr circlets on item stands
oh ok thanks
and do you use something on the sign ?
man i literally wrote what (i think) to be on the sign up there: <#ffffff><voffset=-50>text just copy it over, adjust voffset as necessary
for more info read all of this here https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.textmeshpro@4.0/manual/RichTextSupportedTags.html
yes this is vanilla
it's in youtube for kids and I cannot add it to a playlist 😦
fun fact: you actually can do it from the screen of search results 😉
nice thanks
actually, any other screen that isn't the video player can do it*
Anybody have suggestions of tower builds (square). Some thing simple but with enough details ?
https://youtu.be/RW1TmjUISSA?si=i0EKeQdFCTRi69no
Maybe you get some ideas from my squared tower.
a Valheim build
read the descripction an download the blueprint here:
https://www.valheimians.com/build/the-wisdom-tower/
got this fun idea: connect two pine trees using wood-iron then hang a treehouse in between
not sure why you'd want that, it'd be a bitch to to get up there, only with portals
maybe just for the view
ever wanted to create a tudor style house?
step 1:
put up wall panels normally, this is the "wattle and daub" bit
step 2:
cover it with signs, then get rid of the text (or just flip the sign from the start)
step 3:
here’s the super simple trick, make sure the sign is facing forward then enter this code (copy and paste it):
<size=90><#ffffff>▀ use notepad or whatever you want to set the size
if you don't know what that code is, don't panic! it's just rich text tags and the game supports it in vanilla.
just go here and read up: https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.textmeshpro@4.0/manual/RichTextSupportedTags.html
you can use a lot of other tags in there. you can change the color, play with vertical offsets to hide signs underground, whatever. also, you can swap in different ASCII symbols instead of just ▀.
if you're already familiar with XML or HTML it helps a lot. but if you don’t you should probably panic.
step 4:
add "timber framing". any wood beams will do. just make sure they’re a bit inside the wall but still visible from outside. don’t rely on snap points. just don’t.
Awesome stuff 👏
Sick design, dude!
And it makes me wonder why we don't have white walls in-game.
Because unlike automated ballistas, shield generators, and walls of crystals and mirror-smooth metal, whitewash is just too modern.
literally chalk: "Am i a joke to you?"
It’s funny that they say the game isn’t a Viking simulator or Nordic cultural heritage (maybe inspiration). They also mention it’s not based on reality, to not include real-life animals, or be too modern, yet there are animals and siege machines like ballistaes and catapults (tho acceptable). That’s what’s confusing.
I would prefer different styles and colored walls rather than the mentioned machinery. (Imma builder myself, tho)
Well played! 👍
this from someone on reddit 👇 they actually tried building the whole thing https://imgur.com/cCh86gz
Is anyone else doing this? I've described it in detail in various posts & comments, now there's a video example of how I use the Greyling to make breeding super efficient.
Easy build, and low maintenance and keeps the offspring away from the breeders.
https://youtu.be/NPQS8AI7Gjs?si=qZYw7vYSO9t5mlKf
My method for breeding all tame-ables involves capturing a Greyling or similar. See why this is the most efficient breeding method with this basic example. I walk you through a simple stone and wood build. No mods or devcommands necessary.
I want to make something like this. Would need an ideal location to pull it off without commands though
Some digging and ground raising and you could make that in a lot of places.
Actually found something that could work for that by sailing up a black forest river. Widened out into a kind of lagoon with ground shallow enough to raise with the hoe.
So i'd suggest searching along rivers.
Seed is cs5uDfTycN if you want to take a look, just a short walk northwest of the starting location.
Elven Tavern - The Mushroom Bar
anyone have some ideas for a new cooking layout with all the new stuff?
I pretty much just crammed the meat ketill and preparation table into my existing kitchen. Thankfully you can place the ketill on the side of a hearth so i didn't have to rebuild everything for another smoke vent.
yeah, in my old kitchen i just put the kettle in a similar spot on a hearth actually hah
and made some space near the oven for the prep table. but i need to relocate my kitchen to a new base, so i'll be redesigning everything
Im glad i figured out this lighting setup, will be "installing" it once I do the full furnish of this house
This is how I integrated the new crafting stations into my kitchen. Since they are standalone you are free to place them where ever you want.
I want to plan the layout of an end game village - anyone got experience with an applicable planning resource like some software? Also - could use some wisdom on how to build around the summoning stones
Using the serving tray to decorate outside! Featuring bees
what have you done there?
Seems like Swamp keys on item stand inside those boxes?
hang on, storage barrels have been added in the update? 👀
yeah. ||barrel rings bought from Haldor || theyre just slightly bigger than a normal chest
Shooooit...😯 Now I'll have to work around my flying beehive to have something like this. Thanks for the inspiration
how did you get the barrels again ? 😄
Buy barrel hoops from Haldor
are you kidding?
No.
nice windmill
but there is already windmill in the game
this is better than your windmill sorry
hello guys, is there any page with house ideas, that contains step by step build guides?
Step-by-step I don't think so.
But the main general advice is to build similar to how we build IRL.
Make a frame for your house first using beams and then fill it in with the walls/floors/roofs.
some youtube videos exist where builders show step by step their builds. but i don't know a lot
SmittySurvival on youtube has some absolutely gorgeous builds he shows off in his videos. I learned a lot from those.
He also has some vids with straight-up building tips.
I've done Tudor style, and might swap out the regular wood for ash wood. It's a fun, yet can be a difficult style to pull off and make look right. Not sure if I want to swap the stone out for grausten though, that would mean a full redesign of the build.
I know just the seed, and if you have the iron to spare this whole thing sits on four submerged rocks, and a wood iron post. Not sure you could build it to that size, but might be able to get close. While this is done with 'free build', it's technically possible in vanilla, but like I said, requires a lot of iron.
The biggest tip/idea one can give is to always start with he frame work of the house.
Much like how you would on a construction site. Starting with the frame work ensures you're going to have enough stability to make it work without stumbling over
- A personal tip of my own: in the earlier biomes start with smaller FOB made out of wood, before you want to make a big extravagant base out of stone. Stone requires more stability, especially if you have any floors not touching the ground. And if you ever want to switch from stone to || Black Marble or Grauston || wood will be easier to tear down and rebuild rather than stone.
I usually just build some kind of base early in the game, and rebuild it later into a proper place, after i get all the cool things like stone and etc. So I just leave the early hut or base abandoned and start over.
Whats a FOB?
Forward Operating Base
Forward Operating Base.
Yeah scytha already explained it.
It's been a while, since I played... But with the new ashwood stuff, I had this idea... I started on a Victorian Greenhouse... worked well till I realized: There is no crystal roof... sad fox noises now it will be a topless greenhouse.
Very very nice looking greenhouse, and a good idea.
That might be a better view with more light
I saw Tudor Style in real life in London two days ago.
They used dark wood and bricks which creates a rly warm feeling.
Looks good, well done. 🙂
Any pro builders can help me make this?
Super cool. You will need some mods to replicate some of the design, and some would likely need to be simplified. Would love to help, but don't have the time currently.
HELP: I'm trying to build a portal hub off a 12x2m radius circle. As I build the exterior facing walls high enough I want to stagger the stone pattern to break up the long vertical lines and to give it a more realistic look. I'm running into an issue where I'm not sure how to fill the games between the 2nd and 3rd level of the wall as pictured above. Does anyone have an idea how to fill them in or even redo the walls?
small segments to practice a larger build in this style. been workshopping this concept a while now
Looking for some ideas for an all in one build with the new update crafting stations. Currently in the plains
UPDATE: I found a better stone pattern and the ivy is really giving this an overgrown feel; Still looking for suggestions to make the stone exterior and grausten interior more aesthetic and ornate look
Hi, im new in the game and this is my new house. I know that i can do it better but i dont have new materials for improve my base. Do you like it??
Love it!!
2 words:
MOAR PICS! [please]
I love what you did with angles here. There's verticality, there's depth, certainly creativity. Well done!
A temple dedicated to our lord, the all-seeing one, Odin. Created by @buoyant maple
Any tips for space efficient staircases with early materials? The 45 degree "ladders" kinda suck
I usually build staircases on the outside of my early builds. If you do it right, it can look nice.
Just an example I found on google lol
lemme send you SS
This is what its lookin like so far. I saw a build on valhemians website but im not using planbuild so i built it off the pictures and then made it bigger and added a bunch of changes lol. I could def put stairs on the balconies i guess
yeah not a bad idea
I was planning on reworking the dock from scratch anyway
Thank you 🙂
The other question i had is if you have any roof extension ideas. Like the awning in the right pic? Right now i was tryna to expand the other side a little bit but i dont really understand the roofing tiles very well
Absolutely fantastic. I need to try to recreate that
First thing I would recommend is lining the front edges with beams to give it a little more depth. If you’re looking for a complete restructure, you could add an overhang. Couple ways you can do this- I would personally recommend finding your corner, use 1m beams to go out 1, down 1, then forward 1. Build your roof starting off of that snap point for a nice discrete overhang 🙂
You normal people and your depth perception.
Pfft.
I actually did add an overhang XD
I can rotate letters in signs with <rotate="90"> but any ideas on the whole sentence? Couldn't find it
I know it's unhelpful to say "I don't think you can do that", but since no one is responding, it looks like you can't do that
I had a problem while taking the photos... (Poor little piggies, damned ice dragons). Regarding the house, I recently made it more stable with stone and I am slowly decorating it
Ok you need to build more, most definitely, and start sharing to #building-screenshots, because I'm seeing a LOT of really good stuff here. You're only going to get better with experience, too, so I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Things I like about this:
creative design
use of limited space to make it seem bigger
the angles of the exterior walls and roofing
the chimneys
the spatial organization
I love this. I can, of course, offer you suggestions and guidance to help you learn some tricks along the way, but I don't want to cheapen what you've done here, now.
This is awesome. Especially for an early build. I raise my horn to you!
(I know it's not a horn, but I can't use external emotes on this server 😐 )
Feel free to DM me, and we can work out a time for me to show you some tricks, if you wish 😉
I found this pic on facebook. I wonder if I can do the same thing in-game (the longhouse on the right is mine, you can search #building-screenshots for my name and you'll find it and much more).
I figure the big white building in the center can be the longhouse, and I'll arch the kitchens (already built but due for a remodel due to some ideas...now this) and guard barracks along the sides of the hill like the orange sections in the pic on the left, with a marketplace / theater / speaking square or something in the middle where the square section is on that first pic.
Side note, the only caption on that pic I found said "abandoned officers' house". No idea what kind of officer, where it's from, even what culture. I can viking-ize that easily
Also also, this was meant to be a second message, not a continuation of my reply to Ivan 😛
curved roof...now that's going to be a challenge!
This has taken some time, and I had to borrow gear from someone on my server to survive plains xD Not done yet
Wow, i wasnt expecting that big answer, thanks for this message. I always like building thing and i like learning by myself in survivor mode. When i learn enough on survivor mode, I will for sure build huge buildings on creative mode. Im in love whit VALHEIM (Top 3 of best games on my life).
About #building-screenshots okay, i will send my new buildings there.
Great idea so thanks for that. Really happy with how this build has gone. Now i just gotta make my dock which is severely lacking atm
Second set of stairs comes from both outside and inside. Its kinda jankly positioned between my smelters but its pretty utilitarian
Looks great!
Thanks!
I have one of these rock formations in a nice location, does anyone have any ideas what I could build in the rock formation?
I have seen people do portal hubs, shrines, and houses.
I build a portal hub around the rocks. I’ve seen people put a floating ward in the center air for a mystical presentation
The rocks are unbreakable, so a raised base would be perfect
One of my favorite mid-game bases used a rock circle. I built two small barns, a house, a workshop, and a gate in the openings. Around the inner edges I placed portals and I used the center for farming and bee hives.
I build a temporary starter base in one of those before moving somewhere more permanent. It's a little empty and basic but maybe it'll give you some inspiration.
Need ideas on what to put in my hole 😏
(Seriously - what do I put down there?)
Spent a LOT rebuilding it all out of black marble, but putting the magic area down there made the most sense.
Carpeted!
Maybe a cultist theme?
Does anyone have a tactic or tool for planning their builds? I’m planning a capital city for 1.0 and want to start polishing the big ideas
put light there
i cant think of anything to add here (there will be several more bee hives and most of the rocks are going to have a portal under them
Curious to see what you add - was thinking of making a sort of graveyard or pyre out of this
throne room and bedroom
thanks i just got to being able to build stone stuff trying to geenrate ideas
any idea for here (my base will be next to it)
Do those pillars have snap points on them?
Booo I was gonna say you could build a base on top but you could always do a coast base
you don't need snap points to build a base on the pillars. They count as solid ground.
yeah i saw thosoe and thinked of making my base there
but its on sea level so i wouldnt be able to use under it
so i will make like a smelter and furnace area to there
look for a different altar then i'd say
building under it is half the reason to build an elder altar base
every world has 3
yes i know but this ones looking really cool here so i will just use the top area
fair enough. The pillars are high enough to be raidproof if you build on top so it's a decent location (that you don't have to ruin with a very ugly moat or terrain wall).
I've usually used them to build an elevated house, since the fire doesn't need to be fed. It's not too hard to figure out how to evenly place builds on top. Measure with core wood and adjust.
do you have any pictures of it?
Yes I should be able to find some somewhere

How do you get those horizontal cabin pieces? Are those just horizontal core wood?
Yeah, they have snapping points that let you easily place in a log cabin style
sweeet
you can build a base underneath Elder's altar.
FINALLY FOUND A USE FOR GRAUSTINE ROOFING!
i made the roof by mounting a curved roof piece to overhang and then a straight roof piece to the wall itself
it curves nicely over small graustine beams and then straightens out
i plugged the little hole between the graustine beams and the curved roof pieces with a large graustine beam piece.
its at sea level
I never understood why they did the water so "dirty". It covers the whole map under any land.
Has anyone ever built a pyre ship?
easy?
Down to build this
thats gonne take a long time to build even with cheats
Scale doesn't look too big
I like the challenge.
i just built smt similar
im boughta build this rn
atleast try
those roofs are impossible without some silly tricks cause of how steep
other than that and the height that is easy
This is awesome! Thanks for finding and posting!
Building this in minecraft now
idea: have a zen garden in your messy house. just a small grass patch, minimalist design, a stool in the middle to sit and think, or just go AFK
https://thomaspking.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/screenshot-142.png?w=1568
Nice, or even a zen garden out front 🙂
newest build
That looks fantastic, bummer that we can’t place bushes like that everywhere in vanilla 🤔
I just got the Plant Everything mod and a couple others a few weeks ago. It’s been a game changer for the aesthetic with my base. I get sticking with vanilla though. I
Thanks, I agree it would be awesome vanilla.
I found this video about storage chests showing Black Metal and Iron chests having a very similar number of slots/space consumed by the build piece and now I can't find it again. Are there any storage build guides you guys can suggest?
Not mine, but this is what I saved
Thanks!
https://youtu.be/C-65W_gExeE you mean this one?
i should really update the image to include a note about the height thing on reinforced chests 😅
Thanks! That's more info than the one I meant (it was comparing how many slots fit into a 2x2x4 shelf)
Alright chat - what do I put here? The leading idea is a pyre ship
Hello, Valheim community! 🎮
I’ve just uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel where I recreated The Bannered Mare tavern from Skyrim in Valheim. The video shows the full building process and interior design, so you can easily recreate it if you’d like. I’d love to hear your feedback or ideas for future builds!
In this video, I recreate The Bannered Mare tavern from Whiterun, known from Skyrim, in Valheim. I tried to stay as close as possible to the original design of the structure and interior within the limits of the game’s tools, while also adding a few personal touches.
Throughout the video, calming Skyrim music plays in the background, creating a...
Is that bridge vanilla? Or gizmo
Looks like rotated 1m corewood beams
Rotated in gizmo?
Sorry. I misspoke. Looks like vanilla 26 degree corewood beams and posts. I'm on xbox, so no mods, and have those parts, so I assume vanilla
It's using Gizmo 🙂
Okay looks like I’ll have to get the Gizmo mod cause thst is beautiful
Do it! It opens up a world of possibilities for building.
what do you guys think of this build? I triend to semi-closely recreate it pro the inspiration photo. I used only one mod a thats gizmo (also added the flames on sides because it looks cool :D)
very cool
Surtling trophies placed in Yagluth's eye sockets. A pain to get right, but well worth the effort! Made the front of my base look awesome!
I wonder if this can be done with a sea serpent trophy. Maybe in its mouth
One of my friends put a serpent trophy up with a fish in its mouth
Hahaha. That's brilliant.
Nice!!!!
This is the entrance to the portal
That's a great idea
oh, that's a neat idea. hiding a portal with doors and walls and archway.
portal station idea
That is one of the best uses of an Obilterator Ive seen in 1,500 hours. Shockingly simple. Pun intended
how do you plant this mushrooms please ? sorry im new on the game…
There is an item ||that allows you to place them it’s sold by the bog witch merchant||
ohhhh nice thank you !
Uhhh....not that I'm aware of, there isn't. Enlighten me
||The serving tray can place individual food too. Not only feasts||
Oh, so you're placing rather than growing/planting! Now I'm following. I keep forgetting that it allows more than just food on tables 😆
I don't want to think about how many yellow mushrooms I could replace in some builds. Will be replacing them in my main builds, since it should reduce some instances.
Definitely a good reason to do so!
I'm sure you can find a few, including ones that are mostly for show.
I did that with a bonemaw.
Oooh, nice idea!!
can i plis your foto of chiken farm ( not automatic).
I'm looking for a nice chicken farm project.
it could be a bigger one with corn fields and windmills.
How to make those angled stone blocks stick out through?
The windows are amazing too
I apologize if this is not the right place to ask this question, but can the serving tray be used to feed tamed animals?
Or do they ignore items placed with it
To the best of my knowledge, no. Tamed animals ignore the tray.
Drat, but thanks for the information!
It's abuse of snapping points, and setting it up with 1x1 wood flooring to make sure they are where they need to be. Once you have the locations set, just put the 1x1 stone on top, then go through and remove the wood.
This gate is awesome
How are you guys handling troll invasions?
We've dug large ditches and raised some ground but we seem to get invaded still. Maybe the troll have spawned inside.
We find a small island that has enough room to house all that we need and spawn proof that, no real problem with any raids.
We're living the fantasy of a village so there's a lot of ground to cover 😄
Enough bonfires or campfires at strategic locations could work, they can add to the town aesthetic and they don't have to be lit to keep enemies from spawning or making like little outhouses that have a hidden workbench.
Good to know this strat is still viable
oh so campfires and bonfires have the same anti-spawn effect as the workbech?
nice, didnt knew that
Any player based item https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Player_base, you measure the distance with a workbench without upgrades and then change it to any other player base structure that fits better.
I don't know if this still works but it worked in the past: You can also hide them under the ground as long as something connects them above ground, like putting a workbench in a pit, putting a wooden beam trough it and connect that wooden beam to a sitting log, then filling in that pit with a hoe and grassing it over with a cultivator.
Plan of my Plains base so far
Im estimating a shit ton of stone, tar, corewood, wood, finewood, bronze. black metal, and coal is needed still, its like 10% done but im out of time for today, so far ive built a makeshift farming area, stone floor of the base and front roof section done excluding smeltery
also have a rough outer wall and moat on either side that still needs extending all the way up the mountain
The kitchen will also have its own dedicated storage for crafting food and meads
Im still undecided on where the portal area should go, im thinking either the empty space to the right of the farming area or somewhere within the base to the left of the bedroom adding an extension maybe for easy food access
Im thinking an area for harvesting trees to the right of the smeltery outside the walls and just having some decorational trees in the empty spots infront of the base and top right of docks
FWIW i usually prefer to keep my portal area near the storage/smelters and workbenches. You'll be dropping off loot, repairing and (once you get stone portals) bringing in ore a lot so it makes sense to keep those ways as short as you can.
My first base had the portals on the roof and crafting area in the basement and it was a massive pain over time.
I appreciate the thought, I’ll consider placing it somewhere under the bedroom as the bedroom is on the second floor but that’s poorly shown in the pic, that way it’s essentially central in the base and right next to crafting and chests
paint skills go crazy
Gonna need to redo the plans, I’m extending the base further up the mountain with the portal room on a balcony where the bedroom is in the current plans and the bedroom is going to go behind the smeltery or oven, also going to have the lox area past the north gate with the tree farm to the South Gate
I do have a question here, just joined this server because I realized I don’t have anyone to discuss this game with, I’ve been working on a project with a goal of “complete projects” so that means completed settlements all around the map. But this is the point, I had this idea for a mega bridge. Not only is this the longest freestanding bridge I’ve seen on and off of YouTube, it’s also the tallest. And the entire underneath is a wooden city. Houses and shops stacked upon eachother with walkways and paths leading from building to building. An interconnected civilization tucked away under a bridge and it’s called “Bridge Town”. Has anyone seen anything like this before?? This would be the first settlement on the path to the rest of the kingdom im constructing with a few buddies I convinced to play.
I will give this a shot and update you when finished.
so i decided to clear out a fortress in the Ashlands a few hours ago, how should i fill up the space in here, i dont like how empty it is.
im open to suggestions
think up a floor plan and put up some dividing walls first i'd say, then find something to fill those rooms. Maybe turn it into a portal hub or trophy/weapon museum if you don't already have those? Or maybe a giant asksvin farm if you want something more practical.
Could do a themed room for each biome, with enemy trophies, weapon displays and made using only the mats of that biome and previous ones. So a corewood room displaying bronze weapons and BF trophies, stone and iron for swamp etc.
All depends what you want to do with it.
You could go for a permanent base: so you'll need a dome, working area, storage space, comfort, kitchen, ...
farming spot: put up some vineberries, get some asksvins inside, portals to other farms, maybe a kitchen so you bring everything from the farms here and cook whatever you need here
Portal hub: portals everywhere with signs to where they are going.
Turning the Queen’s location into my Mistlands base, got a nice dock to work with behind it, over a ravine I’m building a bridge got a Dvergr Excavation site down a slope and a Dvergr Tower off to the left next to a spot I can build a proper Harbour, gonna be so cool, I’m excited to be in the Mistlands for a change
anyone have good compact staircase designs?
Dverger Spiral.
doesnt quite terminate well, sticks out strangely, with grausten
Did you try starting it at the top and bringing it down?
then i need to remove a huge section of the floor for clearance
🤷♂️ I got nothin.
Love this idea - for both easy access and the rennovation aspect.
Gut the inside, move the stairs to one side and put some stone walls up outside, makes a nice lil fort
found a nice spot to build my 2nd base thinking of a village kind of setup with a meadhall, but it will probably end up being rather spaced out and have less QOL as a base, wonder how do players build around this ?
1st base and my 2nd one in progress , which has a dock further away haha
OMGGGG NICE JOB 😱
So, I’m making a water base. I’m using the vanilla assets of the plains fingers and rocks you can spawn. I made the rocks go all the way to the ground and I put a broken finger on top. There’s a spiral staircase going all the way around going up to a 3 story house. I did give this to a buddy on my server but I’ll get a screenshot to post in #building-screenshots
Guys i think its a common problem, i need an upper part of the Wood Wall Half but it isnt in the game.
They aren't going to add 1x1 wood wall variants.
Genuinely stop caring about looks until you have all building options available to you.
my inner perfectionist is crying
That's like a sculptor caring about perfection when they have just a hammer.
Once you gain access to the chisel you can do more with your art.
1x1 may be better but I forget tbh. I would suggest putting beams across the outline of the door
It may help
But in Blender its Possible to rotate it on 180° and that's it.
What does Blender have to do with Valheim?
So 2, 2 block beams on the top
A Valheim biome is home to a range of different creatures, and the Mistlands will be no different! Here you can take a look at how our artists created one of the…less menacing inhabitants that you’ll come across in the Mistlands. What are your thoughts?

Valheim is mad...
Danger link is dangerous.
thanks
-# Can also just double-side your walls so only the flat parts show with no beams.
Doors have 3 snap points on the side.
Snap a wall to one of them, then rotate and snap a wall to one of the remaining points.
Double-sided wall.
thank you too
It is the cleanest way to do walls when all you have is wood.
Stone will change your life though.
Thats cool never thought of that, I have a double sided wall in my hotel but that’s it
there is a mod that you can use to turn the peices in all diffrent directions, even put like a door on the floor if you have like a secret hiding spot. Works actually nice - this mod should be able to turn that wooden wall piece in the way that it alline with the other pieces
You can't solve that even using ComfyGizmo mod. You can rotate the 2x1 wall pieces but the small beam will never perfectly connect. OCD nightmare!!! 😂
I did that by just snapping the second wall to the first one. Nothing else needed.
Is this the roof tall enough to build a second story?
can anyone help me decorate please?
Banners?
Maybe some passages between buildings, just a simple tiled floor and a roof, a nice fishing deck with some lights could also look cool
Black Marble and Grausten stairwell (Used a Crypt as a base) 🥰
Same, but bigger build and blue XD
I meant mainly interior decoration, and I have a fishing deck already on the house on the left. thx for the opinions tho
a further away point of view
Ah! Sorry for the confusion
Nice fishing deck, btw!
Try adding decorative floor patterns if you have the materials, time, and inclination to do so. It helps break up the space, adds visual interest, and makes the space feel less "empty".
thats a great idea i've never tought about doing floor patterns thank you a lot
I am still tryna figure out how to decorate the mistlands crafting builds on my black roof house as it is a blacksmith
Hey all! I have been playing valheim a long time but this is my first post in the discord, I am working on a new build and would like to outsource some building ideas that would add some further depth to this current work in progress 🙂

#Valheim #Server...
There's a simple solution to this, start the walls with the 1x2 wall above your door, and then place two 2x2 walls on top of those. It will skew your walls to match the interior bracing 👍
Looking for ideas for top walls
Not to spoil, but there will be some decor for this available later in the game.
where would the bee hives look better, on the tree or on the ground and which is the better looking
Personally I prefer trees, a tree with a wider body will also look a bit better too
ill have to pray to rnjesus for thicker birch trees
Oak trees. You should be able to find them in meadows and drop rate for seeds is pretty good. Better than birch iirc
8491 is crazy
I mainly use oak for wood supply and other trees for decoration like birch
Good day yall, question, any age of mythology retold players around? asking cause the other day I as an egyptian went ahead and used citadel on a norse players town center. and it looks very buildable 😄
I would love some dimension suggestions, im thinking 12 by 16 and 12 high with open courtyard
if you actually plan to build this, its a pretty good one just add some detail here and there, if you wanna keep those two roof like bridges with the two poles keep in mind it will get weather damage as buildings with no roof gets damaged
Apologies for the incorrect channel! Please reference this link for my predicament #building-tips message
Love the curvature of this room and what you did with the floors nice work👍
I did not start the server started playing on the server at about day 5500
Found out something fun today, you can embed Dragon egg in ketill "ring", It doesn't fit in perfectly, It's cliping out in the back, thats why it's by the wall.
I usually put them on 1 meter and 2 meter pieces so they are staggered but spread out like you have them on the ground
I am working on it still, waiting to get a stronger supply of Iron to complete, but I am building a player Graveyard for the players who join my server, play for a time and then just stop playing all together. I've got the portal to the desired location, but looking for some ideas
Not sure what you're thinking in terms of headstones but you could use signs hidden at the base of them, then float the text upwards so it is on the stone itself instead of the sign, and you can adjust the size so it fits properly.
Float the text?
Walk-in freezer.
A room full of iron hooks and cooking spits with hanging meat lit entirely by blue iron torches to give the impression the room is being cooled by magic.
I'm building this in a basement under my kitchen
Glass cubes could also be used as ice
In this quick Valheim video, I'll show you how to add vertical and horizontal floating text to your signs!
I enjoy the floating signs that we can use in Valheim – they add a cool, unique feeling to the game!
Here's more info on sign font size!
https://youtu.be/QxVmhSpZC7I
Here's info on sign colors!
https://youtu.be/wJMFWwhz98c
Farmheim is a...
You can also change the text color (I always change them to white so I can see them at night). Symbols work as well.
Really sorry about the notification but this is the first time I've ever seen anything like this and.. wow.. just wow
I've done a larger building project in the past, the grind for materials has never bothered me, but I kinda struggle with the actual design of things. I tend to start with a rectangle and go from there.
The interior was much less detailed :p
Butyeah! This last build was like, over a year ago, and I'm trying to get back into it. Currently got a stone rectangle. I might just mess around in a building server for a while to get a better idea for direction
...anyways - any tips on that, especially the floor designs, would be greatly appreciated!
Practice, play around with designs, and don't forget that you can alter the levels that things are at.
Lil oven design
My spa on my vanilla build
Lil storage design
Looks great! I would just skew a couple chairs to make it look lived in, seems a bit too uniform atm
its the off season...lol
you should use Gizmo to rotate the chairs so you can put them upside down on top of tables then haha
It's not their build, also mods are icky
forwhatever reason, this made me think of the post on reddit where the player was talking about using the Log seats to bipass doorways and blocked passes, which made me think of the speed runners in Sons of the forest.
Wait, in sotf you can use chairs to glitch thru blocked passages and doors?
Stealing!!!
Does anyone have any good grausten builds theyd like to share with me? I really would like one but youtube has like 0 tutorials on some cool looking grausten builds!
I just wanna make my own decent looking one but youtube sucks
How do you like my log cabin jacuzzi terrace?
hey guys im building something crazy and i hope you all enjoy, this is part of my valheim Bat Castle build, where i am now building a batman inspired Dock and Colosseum, any feed back is welcomed esp tips 🙂 much love god bless https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwCoH3p76VA
Hello everyone welcome back to a brand new YouTube Video from recent live streams where i now Multi streaming now on YouTube and Twitch if you'd to support me MrEuropeanTv on all Socials :) if you cant do that please LIKE the video and SUBCRIBE that also means the world and helps out so much if you've already done that, thank you so much please ...
What are the cross beams
free-placed 1x1 wooden floors just to provide that secure look to the chests
nice!
Based on some vikings making english christian things, why not a bathing house or baptism temple
Could you tell me the seed and location? It looks fire
Bump
just a chair right there, and a good book irl. Totally love those black forest spots
ima in need pf inspiration, anybody got some wacko idea? new player in need of a build for a specific biome progression to build for or at? Dm me some pics of idea, or msg for a free commission whether an invite to a server to hire me for builds or a blueprint i can work on in my creative, note any restrictions or grandiose ideas are accepted!
willing to also give a tour of my meager creative with many details of their inspirations and flaws with fixes to them if you to are looking for ideas!
frankly. im just not a creative person without a seed to work with or a build to seek improvements or alternatives to do.
Mistlands city/village
k
is that a request and you want to be notified of its completion or it was just an idea in the wind to keep me from being bored?
already found a good spot, working on terraforming, i try to make all of what i do vinilla survival doable, thanks for the idea tho
here's a good spawn prevention method for a mistlands village, a bit of work but worth it
a neat bit of info, dont think it would completely be viable for the current idea ive got. tho i do think that is a neat diagram for players who want to reduce spawns..... maybe give it some distance measurements to help people who want to use it (and dont know the workbenches radius)?
Fair points, though the radius can increase if you're willing to upgrade it. I might improve on that though, thanks for the feedback 👍
Workbench has base 20m coverage. Extends to 36m fully upgraded
i know, it was a suggestion so the pic can be useful to others who don't know. allowing it to be a good reference for others, and is self explaining when shared again
For sure. Little tricks for laying out the grid as well. Placing build pieces on the perimeter line to keep track of overlap.
feels to real to need a graveyard for players that abandon your playthrough, lol
Well my main player partner, the last of the 3 that started with me, announced yesterday he is going to stop playing until after 1.0 so he doesn't get burned out. So now I am the last one. I have to make a monument to him now
Portal hub (still expanding and building more!)
Any ideas? Got not a clue what I want to build but ima keep expanding for a bit
You should try to build one of those lake house on stilts :D
There is enough water so sure!
Goodluck!! Make sure you send progress pictures!! :D
One idea so far. Def wanna build something big
Im currently working on a sort of fantasy tavern
hec yeah
So far I got the base, it looks really good
well, no. not the base. Just the design of the base wall
Progress! That's what matters
Anyone here think it'd be cool to build Thirsk Mead Hall from Skyrim? I wanna build it, but I'm quite new to the building in this game
dunno about assisting in that, but you are welcome to join my creative world, i think i have some things to help get you inspired on where to start
Appreciate the offer, I'll take you up on that whenever I have a day off 🫡
feel free to DM me
stone wall idea, it also works well if you replace the stone stairs on the bottom with dvergr sharp stakes for added defense
fancy
I think a lakehouse with stilts would fit perfect 🙂 just a little smaller then this one and you are fine IMHO
I wanna try one of these as next one. I like the look of the roofs
Cylon helmet buildings.
cool, could be difficult but at least the open-end top ridge is totally doable, usually i have tho hand position stuff to close and smooth out that kind of gap
something like that?
i suppose i coulda done more "flowers?" but its just a mock
I love spots like that
our blacksmith (incomplete)
maybe someone could find a way to make this base look good? I tried making a tavern out of it. but failled
im building a new base for me and 2 other friends but it looks a little weird could anyone help me somehow?
maybe, but im laate to the party i think
I would probably add a covered front porch and potentially dormer windows to help break up the large roof. I also tend to put in a curved glass wall. 2meter beams work well for that! Then you can have something to help break up the straight lines and "flat" look that comes with 90* angles.
honestly that could very well work
but what about the second floor though?
You could put in a roofline that is perpendicular to the main roofline. It would cover the balcony and front door.
Have you seen the architectural style in New Orleans? There are Many homes with a second story balcony. If you want to get a bit wild you could use the gizmo mod to create glass skylights. Also, Ashwood pieces act like roof pieces(protect against rain damage) so you could use that decorative wall piece to allow light in. (Gizmo mod) For the main floor you could also have a gazebo/pergola or greenhouse attached to the structure as well.
Also, if you shift+click the iron beams in your windows forward rather than snapping them in place then you can see them from a distance instead of the glass sortof hiding them in the reflections.
shift placements are a huge improvement that the average player doesn't utilize, very good to keep in mind. in particular i like to use it for the wood angled walls.. when snapped as for an inside wall the thick angled part often protrudes through the roof, which when its not intended is disgusting
Building a medium small town and wanted to know if anyone has any good ideas of what to include. Right now I have a fishing pub, a church, a blacksmith, a bed and breakfast, a wagon repair shop and a clothing/linen shop. Any ideas are welcome 😁😁
wizard tower? guard towers/posts? ooh a gathering square! like a place for town criers to inform people, or a gallows, or a fountain/well in the middle
I love the idea of a gallows, a fountain/well and a gathering square. Thank you!
So I always like to build a lumber yard and a quarry of sorts- I prefer storing woods/stones externally using their buildable stacks, and these buildings are where I keep them! Of course, you can always build them purely for cosmetic reasons 👍
ive been playing with fountain ideas recently, but hard to find some way to imitate water coming from it, so its always "turned off" sadly, so wells are tons easier. wood for the poors, stone for the middle class, and grousten for high class
is this a good padern for logs foundation
yes...as long as those vertical ones are the 4 meter ones, its as good as it can be, the diagonals don't provide anything aside looks
and if that farthest one doesnt touch the ground a small bump of raise ground will make it just as strong as the rest of them
when you set out to build, do you purposely make a space small to get that feeling of cozy? i suck at build anything like this. it is always more practical and bland in the end
Depends on what you’re trying to achieve i like to have decent sized builds but the interior i like to divide up with walls to have individual rooms that i can detail, nothing wrong with builds being practical! just dont be afraid to add a little bit of spice here and there to really bring the build to life
this is a pic of the exterior of that house with the oven design, its a good size and i have lots of room to play around with and try out cool interior work
@spiral dome made some improvements, what's your thoughts? I also managed to fit 8 rooms on the second floor. 3x4 room space
you could add a roof window to break up the big roof area. But looks nice already.
I think it works well! You may be able to create a VIP room using dormer windows with a small balcony. I can try to find a picture of what I mean to attach to this!
It would be similar to this. It would break up the roofline and add some extra dimension.
Love me some gables and dormers
wip geting some more wood, how do u like the fire pit
Nice one, i hope you have enough stability for the roof. Building on a hill can be a pain stability wise.
check building screenshots
idk if i should add a second floor in the main room (wip) need to add chest and crafting tables next
I think a second floor will be too much, but maybe a smaller second building for the kitchen
was planning to make a kitchen and u just gave me an idea by that chimney and the fire spot lol
gonna make a smaller version of that, like the one in skyrim starter tavern
😱 Congrats... I'm "tired" and am just with 1200 days...
is there a wall with core logs ideas
I joined the server I am in at about 4500 days but I do have 2200 hours of play time in the server. Been fun
@plucky thorn
beams to fill the gaps, good for newbies like me who only has wood materials
you can also remove the other 2 beams in between and from top the windows to make it look like this
Hello, Valheim community! 🎮
I’ve just uploaded a new video on my YouTube channel where I recreated Warmaiden's smithy and shop from Skyrim's in Valheim. The video shows the full building process and interior design, so you can easily recreate it if you’d like. I’d love to hear your feedback or ideas for future builds!
In this video, I recreate the Warmaiden’s forge and shop from Whiterun, well-known from Skyrim, in Valheim. I tried to stay as true as possible to the original design of the building and its interior within the limitations of the game’s tools, while also adding a few personal touches. Since the in-game tools don’t allow for precise detailing, so...
That's alot of swords lol
that floor looks expensive
any idears on what i may be able to add? (currently reached the plain biome in terms of progression and got plenty of black metal...)
Does anyone have any ideas for something to add to the world spawn? I haven’t seen very much of people doing this at all
I've done villages and portal hubs that wrap spawn. Perhaps make it a temple or altar of sorts? Go crazy have fun
generally just some portal decoration, but much else can be done
If I built a base here on this mark. when deep north comes out do you think it will get destroyed?
uhm, looks quite far from the northern border, but can't be sure 100%, seen southern mistlands black marble castles crumble down in deep water on friend's world on Ashlands update, unable to recommend
Seems quite safe spot to me.
The same water gap appeared at DN border too when Ashlands patch were added in the game.
So you cannot simply walk to current DN anymore.
(Boromir meme here)
I'm so sad that I lost my highest mountain because of this. (not sure if there are more)
This mountain had a perfect "slope" down to DN (fortunately I didn't build the mansion I planned to)
i want to bulid a tree base but i dont know how
many possibilities, they work as good blue ground for their whole height, destructibility of trees is of course a thing, only total safe option is undestructible trees in the swamp, otherwise a good pine is very slim and very straight to keep as central foundation of tall things if you're ok with the risk
Here´s an idea for a "Fishermen Outdoor....idk...chillout place..?" Feel free to get inspiration! :D (Thats btw my very first build...pls dont hate it)
the house i built for this is at #building-screenshots
How were you able to get perfect crosses?
hi
@primal schooner
Heya - apologies for the ping, but I'd been meaning to ask, how exactly did you do this design?
I'm at Ashlands now and have access to the full range of materials. It looks like stone floor or grausten, with ashwood beams in the center, and black marble at the corners?
Making a hiking trail thats thick with beech trees ❤️
Think of measurements being from center edge, to center of room.
Outer edge is grausten (3m), then stone (1m), with the center filled by marble (2m), very center is a wood floor. The long narrow black pieces are ash wood dividers, short ones are dark wood. Grausten pieces are used to mostly obscure the marble, with 1m ash wood posts in the center of them. You'll have to play around with different levels to get the desired effect, but once you understand that, it becomes easier. It's how the red jute is ONLY a 2x2 square.
Play around with things, you'll probably surprise yourself with what's possible.
Thank you!
couple of things I've been working on - seaside fort and a great hall
any ideas on how to do this without the gate clipping into the stone wall?
Frame the doors in wood. Corewood has a top and bottom snap point. Raise the grausten a half meter. See how you like it
its corewood time im gonna core all over the wood
i need help makeing a tree house
Pine trees and the big dead ones in swamp are perfect.
planning to add a 2nd floor here, any extra ideas to add?
Heyo, we got a pretty large base and need to spawnproof it, does anyone have good looking ideas that could be placed in a stone base i dont want to have random crafting benches or campfires laying around
you can hide them by making them part of the base, cover them is stone, or also just raise the ground over them, slightly
You can often hide them in walls, build little sheds or outhouses around them, dig a hole place it in there, make a connection with like a beam going trough it to something that will look good above ground and fill the hole up again.
Hide them in the attic, use them as work tables so they add to the environment, put a rug under it and a chair in front of it, if they are in a structure.
Use other player base items than workbenches and campfires that add to the aesthetic.
i think it looks a bit better this way
cozy plain roundhouse (surronding in progress)
THE PRODUCTION MUST GROW!!!
In case you are unaware: Ashlands added an option for more realistic fire/burning (i.e. no firepits inside your 100% wooden house on your wood floor and such)
What you can also do with this tech is just build a fire pit and then build a Wood Stack right next to/on top of it. Stack will light on fire and pop for 50 coal much faster than any Kiln.
(Fire Arrows also work)
Huh thanks for the tip man
Doesn't that require the fire spread modifier to be turned on?
Ashlands added an option for more realistic fire/burning
obsolete?
im early game rn, is there a better way to get coal eventually?
Read the "In case you are unaware"
oh lol sorry
