how do you calculate how much dmg armor shred gives you?
do you count the number of armor shred you can get on the target, multiply it by 100, then use the player armor dmg reduction formula, and then multuply the dmg with that dmg reduction number?
Usually people just try to reach 100-200 stacks in order to melt basic armor of bosses + get some extra damage. Not so much people bothering by calculating that but for excel sheet warriors it is the way you've described, yes

There is no such thing as "basic armor".
Mobs have 0 armor.
Any stack of shred makes armor go to negative

Unless you're preventing shred, marked for death or a unique/passive node/skill node, there's no reason to overcap.
Do harbingers spawn every time now? I thought it was only at certain corruptions
yeah, they all have 0, but there's diminishing returns...that's why you stop gaining any benefit once you have a certain amount of stacks

Once you "unlock" the harbinger for a timeline by defeating it for the first time for the quest, it then spawns every time regardless of corruption

Void Knight Smite. It's honestly very meh, and even with 90 vit, 2.3k armor and 2631 health I just cannot stay alive.
I genuinely hate leech as a mechanic, and this build relies on it so heavily it's painful.

I league started on a cold HoA build, was very smooth all the way until 500-600 corruption when some things like randomly one-shot even though I had a tankier char than before reset and I was on 800 corruption then

You might try Faith in sigil tree + ekkdrasil helm with vitality slam, they provide a lot of survivability for cheap
Also upgrade endurance to 60% at least, with ekkdrasil you need even more

Yeah, but endurance nice to have at 60% even without it. Endurance + faith already boost your survivability significantly. Better to have more healing effectiveness with this build though

Yea. Only thing that effects minions is things that say minion with very few exceptions. But those exceptions are like, balista that get crit chance/multi based on yours with a specific node in the tree

hey guys. when you start a new character there is lightless arbour key tahts awlays drop in a chest. which waypoint is it ?
FG minions can copy stats from certain equipment slots. If you have "increased armor shred effect" on your armor for example, your manifested armor will gain armor shred effect.
As far as i found, only weapon and gloves. Neither of it has "increased armor shred effect".
I did found a T6 "479% chance to shred armor on hit" two hand at the beginning of the first monolith though.
So that is fun.
But i'm also already sad about the future. I wanted to try out the Forged Weapon Set. But it has a weapon as part of the set, making it impossible to "forge" my own.
for some reason i still havent fully grasped how/if prophecies and the area you pop them in interact - if i pop a prophecy in a tier 1 dungeon can the highest base items and/or t7 affixes drop, or not?
actually my real question is: does anything at all affect/limit what prophecies can give you? if so what (character level, area it pops in level, ..)?
I meant only weapon and gloves can affect Forged Weapon minions as you mentioned.

Imo the Sun Forged Set is not for meant for your weapons doing Dmg but for you doing Dmg and getting various Buffs thx to the Weapons
My point still stands though, i can't "forge", or "modify" my forged weapons by using a crafted weapon. Be it for damage or utility like armor shredding.

when you kill all 10 harbingers you can use the eye's to fight aberroth, the end game boss
so just right click on each eye I get and eventually it'll allow me to fight that boss?

no, each eye lets you fight the boss once. but you need to kill all 10 harbingers before it will allow you to start the Aberroth fight
each time you kill a harbinger the first time it has a 100% chance to drop an eye.
after that each time you kill a harbinger again it has a chance to drop another eye....higher chance in higher corruption

How armor shred and dmg type shred (eg fire shred) works? Is it multi? Is it the same?
Armor Shred mitigates only Hit, and is 70% Effective for non Physical Hits. It acts as a More Dmg
Other Shreds are in fact Resistance Shreds. Works for any kind of Dmg (as long as its the same type). Its another More Dmg

That might be a bug. That spell only has 80 base dmg, so, unless you are rocking insanely high corruption/mods, there be something wrong with the calcs

i started playing again with the 1.0 release along with 3 friends, totally unplayable multiplayer for months
Yeah, mp either works fine or doesnt work at all for groups. Its gotten a bit better since 1.0, but, some are still having problems. Its unfortunantly hard to track the problems that only effect a small portion of the player base. Bug reports let the devs know its still a problem and gives them more info on whats wrong

It seems like LE highly dependent on hardware. Some of it just makes game barely playable. As I remember PoE had the same problem for years until they get investment from 1/5 of 50 Cent and made a lot of differend hardware setups in their office.
To what corruption is Julra T4 comparable?
Basically 300 but I'd say 400-ish because fight is hard for non-oneshot builds

There is no meaning in power of your setup, it just not suited for the game. Like, people there complaining about stutters on 4090 while other playing smoothly on smth like GTX880

Also I'm not sure is it possible for LE to change rendering API, but it may help. Like, for some games I had stutters and lags for every move using DirectX 10/11 or Vulcan while DirectX 12 provided perfect performance. And vice versa, some games running smoothly on Vulcan and lagging with DX. Try to investigate this, who know what may help.

I've been stuck with the idea of making an electrify centric build for a while now. This is what I've came up with so far https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/Q9vrz2EB
The idea is to proc as many smites as possible via multistrike and healing hands. I don't see a way to pick up bladestorm w/out going oom in 2-3 swings however.
Javelins is taken as a mean of movement with increased electrify proc and more lightning damage via standard. Free smites as well.
I'm not sure the ignite from sigils will translate into more electrify chance for smite.
Idk how much ward healing hand will generate but it should be at worse a tiny bit of effective hp added to the build.
It doesn't matter if this cannot go over 500 corruption. This is about fun.
Any idea on how to improve it? (I didn't include gear from Aberoth as I have yet to kill it)

Jesus, is it just me struggling with the harbinger of fear? She casts tri-beam without any visual warning and pre-cast animations, instakilling if the beam happens to spawn right on my char.

That's true, but the 75% penetration enemies get means that being slightly under res cap doesn't really matter, so it's not worth building over capped res for shred when you could use those affixes for other defenses

Placing of tri-beam depends on her position so try to look at the angle between her and beams spawned. For me it is already automatic action so I don't even think about where to stay during the fight.

Yes.
Watch out for things like "spell damage" or "melee damage" or "hit damage". Your ailments are none of those things and won't use those modifiers even if the skill applying them does
But generic damage or damage of the appropriate type will work fine

The answer is no, the prophecy effect simply gives 1 LP if the item totally failed its LP roll.
This is different from the double LP chance rank bonus, which actually does double that 1 LP roll chance that needs to pass before it rolls for 2 LP (and so on).
Not exactly this. What you're describing - it is consequence of having or not having "seed"-like mechanic for items (compared to pure random/pseudorandom)
A seed is pseudorandom, and yes that's what is used for all rng in the game afaik
Seems like you do not understand difference between seed and pseudorandom. Seed - it is random combination for something that predefines any further actions with that particular entity, actually predicting them with 100% probability. Pseudorandom - it is a system which increase your chances for something on fail. I.e. lets **imagine **it implemented for Glyph of Hope. At the first use you will have 25% "true random" chance for it to proc. If succeeded, it reset to some basic chance, usually 4-5 times less (i.e. WC3, DOTA 2 use such values). If not, your chance to proc Glyph go up to smth like "true" 35% or so. If you fail again, it goes to "true" 50%, and so on until you'll have guaranteed hit (some systems stops at 75/80/90/95% so there is still some chance to fail many times in a row). After proc/hit chance is reset again and you continue to roll. So they are completely different and serve different purposes.
No, pseudorandom is rng following a seed or something like that. It's just not "true" random. That is what the game uses, and the seed is completely arbitrary, so it doesn't really matter for players. LE uses the default random implementation from Unity, it's Mathf.Random or something, you can look up the Unity docs on how it generates the seed it uses.

It does (but actually sometimes it bugs too and spawns just under the harbinger wherever she is right now) but the trouble is - there isn't any visual indication of where the beams would start. So if you happen to stand on the beam starting position - bang, you're dead, buddy

I can practically guarantee you DOTA uses a seed for their crit chance, it's an extremely common programming practice. Here's the Unity doc on for what I think (if I recall what Mike said correctly) is the method LE uses to generate pseudorandom numbers - https://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/Random.html
It also includes a handy link to the Wikipedia page on pseudorandom number generation. I don't know what definition you're using for pseudorandom, but this is what it means in computer science/programming, at least, and is what I mean when I say they use seeds.

Correct, but they still respect the damage type, so +15 fire spell damage can only be scaled by % spell or % fire ( +X spell damage is adaptive to the skill)

If DOTA would use a seed cheats that makes every your hit critical were not possible, because every attack would be predicted from the start of the match no matter is anyone using crit or no. You're just talking nonsense about something different, idk. Seed is a way to **predefine **something predicting 100% of outcomes no matter the player decision or electron spin in CPU. Pseudorandom is a way to smooth out influence of true random on any mechanic implying randomness so average % will be close to specified even on the short distances so player's experience will be better. Pseudorandom uses true random as second, sometimes third layer of randomness smoothing the spread between expected and actual outcomes of random, especially with small numbers of tries. So calculations implied on EVERY stage of rolling pseudorandom (and underlying "true" random) values while for seed they are predefined and cannot be influenced by any factors after seed's generation.

There's no way to predict the result, if that's the concern. Unless EHG makes the roll on the client side rather than server side, which would be... odd.
It depends, actually, if you've decided to speak about client/server decision distribution. You can implement randomness on several stages. One I've asking about it is stage of dropping item. So when item is dropped are all actions for it predefined by any variation of seed or they are random/pseudorandom for all or some further manipulations with item? Actually, that "seed" may be generated on server side and after that all further changes of item will be predicted and known on client side. Or "seed" is generated on server side and its consequent results are also sent to client on executing particular action? Or there is no any "seed" at all? I doubt that you might know the answer so I've asking devs about it. And the most obvious consequence of this it is LP chances rolling comparing to guaranteed roll of LP from prophecy.
Last Epoch is server authoritative. That means that outside of bugs, security oversights, and certain other things, the game logic is done on the server side, and the client is only informed of the result.
The same is true for dropping an item. The server uses a random number generator and game logic to decide everything about whatever item it wants to drop, then it tells the client "here's an item that's dropping". The actual implementation of the random doesn't matter really.
All seeds used for that are generated and stored on the server.

Maybe? I don't have the game open to see torment's added damage effectiveness (it's in chthonic fissure's alt text); if its dmg eff is 100% then yes that's right.
It's effectiveness is 200% I think, so 240 damage over 3.

Aside from HP the main point may be movement. Around 400-600c you will find more and more attacks you will just need to dodge. The more you raise corr, the more you will need to adapt the playstyle, as most builds will stop to one-shot everything

first time seeing this many
the further away you are from the center, the more likely you are to get them...you can't expande the grid out to infinity
if you're far out from the center at some point you'll start running into those on almost every fork
if you have 1 timeline on e.g. 400 corruption, and then you go to an old timeline that's like at least 40-50 lower in corruption, as soon as you do 1 node you are guaranteed to get a shade
they made this so it's faster to bring up corruption on your lover timelines....so you don't have one on 1k corruption and then have to spend hours starting on 100 again on another timeline

he will always dash towards you, so, just get him turned towards a wall and the storm is no longer an issue.

They fixed a bug about that in the last patch/hotfix

- Try killing the 1st Harbi again (the one you summon by completing your last non empowered monos)

its not specifically against the rules, no, but, there is always a chance of it getting sniped by someone. the only true safe way to do this is via resonances and gifting.

Push corruption if your character able to do it. Exp tomes in monoliths is your best friend. Arena is good too but you need sustain because builds that fast comes into OOM state struggle there. If we're talking about post-story leveling.

Is pen on amulets actually good? I feel like it should be incredible, but I rarely if ever see anyone run it in guides. They tend to be T6/7 damage prefixes.

When Cycle ends, does it transfer Merchant's Guild Favor over to Legacy?
T7 pen is better than T7 crit multi if you have 370+ crit multi and if you have no other sources of shred/penetration. Against default enemy with 0% resist you have +15% damage from pen vs at most +15% from crit multi only on critical strikes. If enemy has resistances, pen might be up to 2x multiplier. It is especially good option for necrotic or void damage because sources of penetration or shred for their hit damage are in scarcity. For elemental damage or multi-damage build it is worse tho
crit nowadays also scales some stats from the tree or skills
while pen do literally nothing
In the context of their build, pen is kinda ass since it's half effetiveness. (Witchfire is both fire and necrotic)
And if they use torment each crit multi amount is that much extra % more

I know harbingers drop needels, but outside of that
Crit protection doesn't come from idols except primalist. Better to use reduced% crit taken because it comes with +armor and does not need to be capped (like 70-80% is enough usually). Reign of dragon blessing it is cheap way to get 100% crit avoidance until you get something better (if you need).
Harbs drop some good items and eyes to aberroth that drops really good items. 2 envy glyphs from them are also useful for a fast boss rush. If you didn't complete progress of FK faction better to kill harbinger and unlock aberroth.

Not from the gambler in town. The one in Soulfire Bastion can (it can only get sealed affixes from doorway modifiers if you pick one that does it).

When you hover over item from gambling vendor it says Low Forging Potential. Does that mean when revealed the FP will be lower than if item was found or lowest possible FP for that item if found?

Question regarding Forgotten Knights rank 2 reward "stability gain chance", 10% chance to gain twice the stability when completing an echo. My partner and I have learned it's only on base stability and that's fine but here's the question. Even though it's only 10% he sees in his chat the message he recieved double stability. I have yet to see the message....I even have public turned off to be sure I'm not missing it and have yet to see it. Is there something else I maybe have turned off to not see it? I do see messages for like weavers gain and such but am confused why I never see the stability gain and he does.

how to farm temporal keys faster? any tricks?
Find echo with good layout and reset it until having an echo full of rares, then full clear it. Rare mobs drop keys sometimes. It is not guaranteed to have TS keys specifically so you'll get LA and SB keys too.
Mono bosses usually drop at least 1 key. You can do temporal key prophecies too if you are COF

If I am using Warpath with the Apocalypse Whirl node and my weapon is Sierpin's Fractal Tree, the damage that Apocalypse Whirl converts to Void is going to be the flat physical damage from tree/nodes on Warpath itself, and the adaptive '+80 Melee Damage' implicit on Sierpin's.
The '+(60 to 84) Physical Melee Damage' on Sierpin's will not be void converted since that isn't 'base damage' but instead added damage, right?

I like the mechanics, the gameplay, the character fantasy and progression. But there are a lot of bugs. I am willing to endure them and work through them. But that is not the case for everyone. Also everytime there is a new patch you flip a coin. Head is fine. Tail, the game is broken in multiple different ways.

one affix can have different values on different items, for example Strength is 1-16 on a helmet, but 2-24 on body armor
- when you open the build planner, select a body armor and select affixes, you'll see +2-24 Strength right away
- but on the affix page LEtools has to show both 1-16 and 2-24, so it shows default values first and then it shows values adjusted for each gear piece
So that's why it says +1 ballista on the first table, and +2 below that.

It does, but you will need either the LP or WW tab before (somewhere to the left) your non-LP/WW tab since you can't (currently) set both max WW and max LP, and that one will be able to overflow into the non-LP/WW tab.
Personally, I set my non-LP/WW tab to max 0 LP because the WW tab is much less prone to overflowing, ymmv.

if there are no seasons 3-4 in a row of updates released every quarter, it is not worth returning to the game
in my opinion, update 1.3 will only be released in September 2025. ensuring that the update will be released regularly after update 1.2 is not sufficient. since version 1.0 the game has problems with updates and it was repeatedly assured that from the next one they will be released regularly, somehow version 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 were released ~6 months of waiting for updates. If the game does not have more than twice the cycle content than Poe, the game will be developed for several years. I can compare the development with the game Grim Dawn. last epoch, even when update 1.2 comes out, most players will not come back because of the long waiting time
I doubt that there would be over 175k active players during the premiere of 1.2
As a hack and slash and mmo game player, I can say this
You will rebuild reputation and players only in Q4 2026, then it is possible that old veterans will come back to play and new players will arrive. Old veterans won't come back if the game continues to develop at the current rate. they will wait a few seasons to make sure the game is being developed at the right pace

The mage does drop some special runes, using those has a chance (higher on higher tier experimentals) to drop a glyph that can craft potentially up to a T5 experimental affix.

All sources of Increase Dmg are additive together.More Dmg is multiplicative.
If you have 2x100% Inc Dmg you get 200%Inc Dmg
If you have 2x100% More Dmg you get 400% More Dmg

Wondering about something, what exactly happens to your character after the cycle ends? My understanding is it just transfer into a legacy character, but pretty much nothing else changes. But suppose you already have a runemaster as a legacy character from cycle 1. At cycle 2 you create another runemaster. At the end of the cycle, it would be transferred to legacy, and you'd essentially have 2 different runemaster characters?
