That would be nice, and is technically possible if EHG follows Sony's Cross-Platform Revenue Share Agreement. Unfortunately it's not trivial to implement and somewhat risky for smaller developers. Only three games have actually bothered to jump through the hoops required as far as I'm aware: Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Genshin Impact.

Can’t cosmetics unlock on the account so it doesn’t matter where it’s purchased? I think that would solve all issues. Plus I would be willing to buy on whatever platform EHG wants including their own website if need be. I like supporting the game but no way am I buying packs twice.
The problem is Sony wants a cut of all sales. If you bought a bunch of DLC for Last Epoch outside of Sony's store, the only way EHG could get you access to that DLC on the PS5 version would essentially be by forking over 30% of the money they got from you, to Sony. The actual implementation is much more convoluted than this; that's just the executive summary description. You can probably imagine why companies are reluctant to do this.

Sony literally will not allow exactly what you're describing. Either they get their cut, or your game isn't allowed on their platform.

Locust swarm itself actually does have all the relevant tags such as poison and DoT, I guess you guys just forgot to include the "false" tags on swarm strike to indicate that its inherent sub-skill scales with them
But yeah those cannot be dodged and cannot crit flags are haunting still. Seems like some other old skills like black hole also have the cannot crit flag but not the cannot be dodged flag.
It also deals melee damage over time which is niche but not unique, so I'll let it pass

It is good to know that dancing strike had the rework it needed. That open interesting new build idea. I am excited about it.
Net has exactly the same limitation as dancing strike due to movespeed that prevent fast use of the skill.
When you stack throwing attack speed, you can't use net as much as the throwing attack speed should enable because movespeed limit its use. As it is very similar to dancing strike, can we hope that you made a global rework for all skill that has similar problem ? Is net bug corrected too ?

Throwing trap skill usually works with shift boost damage or scissors of Atropos weaver sword (explosive trap and net function). Why did you make an exception of decoy that doesn't benefit from shift node nor scissor?
I love the fact that I can play last epoch on a gamepad. Are there any Updates coming with regards to how targeting works for specific skills? It would be nice if one could go into the gameplay settings to customize how the targeting of a specific skill works, rather than having to invest into a skill tree. For example summoning a totem at a fixed distance in a certain direction or targeting minions over enemies in a certain direction etc.. things that are possible using a mouse and keyboard but aren’t on the pad.

How is the potion drop chance calculated for boss fights, and how does it affect the chance if multiple potion slots are free? Does the number of free belt slots play a role?
It only cares that you have at least one potion missing, it doesn't care how many are missing
It also cares about how many potions are already on the ground nearby
It does slightly care how many empty slots you have (slightly less chance to drop if the number of nearby potions on the ground can fill your belt), and there is a rate limit on bosses

It is good to set expectations, but at the same time if we take the roadmap as the plan, we have season 4 -> season 5 -> Orobyss Expansion - that would indicate that there's only two seasons for the entire year and more than likely Orobyss next year.

Here's to hoping that gets updated and we can at least get 3 seasons in a year if we aren't getting Orobyss this year (or if it would be extremely ambitious).
The issue is specifically the console part of the release. The first time we release on console, it has to be submitted really really far ahead of time. I'm not sure on the exact timing but from what I understand from a friend who released a console game a couple years ago, if we wanted to get it out this year, we would have to be submitting LE:O before Season 5 comes out.
So completing 2 seasons in the time between S4 and S5 is probably unrealistic.

n^2 scaling is pretty high, or n+m scaling (you get ailment for free). tho i wonder about n+min(n,m)*c scaling?

I don't really have a great explanation that I can give you. I may have come off a bit too resigned to it as an inevitability on stream. It is something that we are working on long term. One thing I can say is that most times that we have scaled things based on added damage multiplier, there ends up being certain skills which just ramp into infinity and others where very little changes and it feels kinda weird. It also ends up homogenizing builds even more because the things that are good at non-ailment damage end up being good at ailment damage and diversity goes down.
There are some controller improvements for 1.4.

In the previous dev stream you mentioned that EHG's "ideal" state for item factions is when players feel empowered to make the choice based on personal preference rather than one being stronger than the other. You expanded to say that faction balance was currently in a good state "because the players were choosing both at similar rates".
To me this conclusion feels inconsistent with previous justifications for balance changes which acknowledged that players tend to bias towards "optimizing the fun out of things". Eg. when XP scaling on corruption was nerfed back in LE 1.1.
In my mind, the relative "strength" and perceived "fun" of available options are two distinct but important factors that combine to determine choices made. Eg. if MG was (hypothetically) 20% stronger than COF, "Player 1" who finds COF 30% more fun than MG, may still play COF regardless because the extra enjoyment is worth the minor "efficiency" loss. Meanwhile "Player 2", who only finds COF 5% more fun, may decide MG is "worth it".
Last Epoch's origin traces back to a more solo focused game, with multiplayer being a fairly recent addition. I don't know for certain but I would wager that more than half of current LE players find COF more fun, and if that is true, it would indicate that faction choice equilibrium is maintained by a surplus of power acting as compensation for the on average less preferred faction.
Basically, when the preference gap widens, so too must the power gap to maintain an arbitrary equilibrium of choices made.
My question; For complex systems like item factions, how do you separate preference and power? Additionally, how do you determine when choices are being made based on power over preference, and at what point does a problem become apparent? Also, is it possible that a non equal selection of options may still indicate a reasonable balance state when other factors also play a role?
It's a lot of subjective factors. I think the relative split is a minor indicator of the quality of the split. I'm much more interested in the comments I see on reddit, discord, youtube comments and the forums than the actual percentage split. Personally I think if it was up to roughly about 70/30 in either direction that would probably be a good data indicator that it was ok and then if the feedback fit that narrative, that would make me happy. I think on that stream I went on to say that the best thing is if someone new shows up on reddit and asks which faction they should join and the answers are "do you like trade or not?" then that's a success. And that has always been the goal with the system right from the start.
I will concede that the subjective and anecdotal feedback on forums and such is very unreliable because you get such a small percentage of the player base being active in those situations. However, you do tend to get more players who are just going to pick the most powerful option regardless of experience so maybe it balances out if the split is closer to center.
The way decisions get made on it is in a big call with a bunch of designers/devs who debate it. The data and feedback each get "a seat at the table" but aren't something to follow blindly.
I think in both cases, what players ask for the most is QoL improvements. Things to make the mechanics more streamlined, interesting, engaging, thematic and fun. We do see requests for more power too but from where I'm sitting, that's a relatively quiet voice in general.
It would be interesting to get some insight into what those discussions look like and what is considered, and different perspectives on either side. I know I have my own biases, always good to hear others.
In a sense, I would argue that power and QoL are two sides of the same coin.
If the "less fun" faction becomes more fun it also needs less of a power handicap to be a viable choice to most people.
Even though I personally prefer COF, if MG received more QoL it would also make me more likely to play MG.

I would love to be able to share details but we actually just had a meeting on this and solidified a bunch of the things coming. They aren't implemented yet but I'm quite pleased with it. How exactly does the Paladin's 'Sword of Rahyeh' threshold node work?
It reads 'Whenever you activate Holy Aura, it causes all of your ignite stacks on enemies in the Aura's area to deal 50% more damage (multiplicative with other modifiers)'
I'm not sure if it will instantly upon activation boost the current ignite stacks damage or if it is bound to the 4 second active effect which would makes all ignites in the next 4 seconds to gain the damage bonus?
And in the case it is the former option, can I gain the bonus multiple times if I manage to make ignite last long enough that I get to activate Holy Aura twice?
should be the first option (affects already applied ignites once upon activation) and it should stack yes, going off of the wording alone that is. should be pretty straight forward to test at least the first part of it

Ofcourse balanced accordingly, so probably nerfed. It's just that the endless ramping of health drain eventually overpowers all regen and leech and turns off.
The amount of times I died by reaper form just running out in last season was really annoying...
I'm sitting here planning a caster acolyte, and as much as lich is very appealing and strong, that whole "reaper running out, I must afk on a corner until its back up" gameplay is kinda cringe.
Following that, is there any thoughts towards overhauling Reaper Form entirely? As it is it feels like a must have for any Lich or melee Acolyte since it's essentially just a massive passive boost to whatever playstyle you were already planning to do. I get the appeal of the "superpowered form for as long as you can maintain it", but not a fan of it feeling required - I want to play Flay, not reaper (I've given these thoughts in the feedback channel)

Yeah nothing sucks more than occasionally dropping your tank and dps and in turn probably evaporating mid mob pack, so to counter this inevitable thing u gotta afk in a safe spot and repop reaper, it's just annoying, promotes bad gameplay.
I'm really a big fan of variety so personally I would kinda need to see a way to keep it mechanically distinct from druid.

I don't think how you maintain a form is variety, I think what the form "provides" is variety. Reaper and all druid's shapeshifts are very very different gameplay loops, just that one sustains it well, and the other doesn't

Therefore by that logic, it is not a problem if one of EHG's intermediaries decides to offer their own imput on a particular topic that they may already have foreknowledge of beforehand. Especially if it corroborates on top of what may come forward if one does decide to answer it in good time.
It's perfectly reasonable to request a direct reply from a dev here. The vast majority of the questions which get asked are answerable perfectly well by the mods (sometimes even better really). Just have to wait for me to get around to them sometimes. We're in a leadup to feature lock tomorrow so we're a little busy. I'm also quite sick (not sure who will be streaming tomorrow yet). So I'm sorry for the delay.
That was always the plan. We probably clung to it for a little bit too long actually. I think we are a very idealistic group. When we started out, we all came together mostly as gamers first and became developers. Along the way we have had to make a few unfortunate compromises. We've also learned that many of our initial intentions were just not the best thing for the game. LE as we initially envisioned it would be a much worse game I think. I'm very proud to say that it has evolved. I know that some of those changes haven't been what some players wanted and for those that purchased a long time ago, I just want to say thank you for believing that we could make this game in the first place.
We are very aware of the issues surrounding creating a paid class and the additional issues around if it is significantly more powerful than the others. I think we can thread the needle on this one but only time will tell. I hope that people will look at the first paradox class and decide to get it or not based on the aesthetics and theming rather than the competitive aspect.

Here's the rub, as I see it: A person buys your game based on the long, consistent history of you all saying there will never be pay to win or pay for convenience in the game - you're funded exclusively through the box price and cosmetic items. You come along and say "we're offering paid classes called paradox classes ".
If the paradox classes are weaker than base classes, no one buys them. They're pay to lose, and they cost you more to develop than you make, so it becomes a bad business decision.
If the paradox classes are stronger than base classes for any use case, you're now going back on years of official statements.
Threading a needle is a relatively simple task compared to the task you set out for yourselves... you're going to create new classes behind a paywall, that have to be different enough to justify anyone paying money for them, but also not objectively better than what's available to players who choose to opt out of paying for them. This is a massive game balance issue. You say you think you can "thread this needle", but you're yet to put out a single patch since launch that wasn't absolutely dominated by a relatively small number of very powerful builds, so I'm sorry to say that there's just no historical precendent for this... and if paradox classes end up being meta, because the Merchant's Guild exists, you're giving players an in-game advantage over others. That's a big ol' yikes from a gameplay perspective that's enough to get people grumpy because that's pay to win.
And grumpy people start to either uninstall, or start digging through your aforementioned years of history talking about how there will be no pay to win or pay for convenience, and suddenly you run afoul of US and EU consumer protection regulations.
So that begs the question: are you sure this is actually a good idea? Because to be frank, you sound like Ion Hazzikostas pre-Shadowlands right now and he had to pull the ripcord.

It's something we've been wanting for a long time. It has a pretty big issue in that if it's not decently accurate, new players can get taken advantage of pretty easily. That can still happen anyways too. The next feature after a price checker that I don't think will happen is the inevitable request for integration into the loot filter. Regardless I don't have any sort of ETA on it existing but if we can manage to make it work well, then it would happen. Not sure if it will yet though.

I've been skipping this guild usually because when I'm starting out and needing good items everything is way jacked up in price compared to how much gold I have so I've had a lot better luck not doing merchants guild and just finding stuff.
Maybe that's just how I play it, but I feel like I'd rather have a filter for everything under 1,000,000 and filter out all of the overpriced stuff when I'm building my first character.
that was a hypothetical loot filter expample. you wouldn't want to hide all the expensive stuff, that would mean you wouldn't make any money

In S4 there's been an announced change to Skeletal Mages which makes Death Knights cast Hungering Souls from your skill tree. Several nodes reference stats minions don't have (Mana and Minion Count in particular). There's quite a few nodes like that: Forbidden Pact, Grave Bond, Necromantic Emanation, Unholy Trinity, Soul Drain, Mind Harvest. How will those interact with the minion casting the skill? Will they scale based on the player's Mana & Minion Count? Or will they just do nothing?
They also posted the new node text which explains, it scales with your mana and your minion count.

You know there's a market, and the more powerful your build the richer you can become, which then means you can then buy more and better gear and snowball out of control, right?
Pretending as if there's not a competitive element to the game when there's a trade economy is borderline reality denial, particularly when MG outperforms CoF in every measurable way.

Are you able to talk about what this looks like in practice? I.e. does the first corruption fill all the affix slots or is it one affix/corruption? Does each subsequent corruption keep the earlier added affixes or does it randomize + add one each time?
It does 1 corruption each time and follows the rules of corruption each time. It's not completely resetting the item each time and it is possible to brick it.
Is there a limit on affixes on that item as well? or can it get like 10+ affixes (i doubt this since it'd be bigger than set item tooltips but figured i would ask)

How are skills like storm bolts handled? Are they actual real subskills of gathering storm (and other similar skills subskills of their supposed parents). Or are they just sharing the tree, and have the same attribute scaling?

Storm bolts are cast by the player, not gathering storm. The bolts get created long after gathering storm is gone.

So Oculus of Ruin is a unique and corrupting is done with a corruption rune in the forgery. Isn't it the first time when a unique can be modified in the forgery by a rune?
You can corrupt other uniques too
It mentions things like LP, WW and WT on the tooltip of the rune
then we should first slam exalted affixes (provided it has LP on it) on that ring before corrupting it right?
Just generally, you should probably slam or nemesis a unique before corrupting it.

This shouldn't be possible since volatile zombies don't count as fire skill, they only count as minion fire skill.

I'm not a dev so I don't know for sure but it's unlikely, we already have the eras the game takes place in and none of them are "futuristic". The last season introduced chapter 10 of the story which was set in the ancient era which is likely what the "far past" you're referring to was. We pretty much already know that the world ended before any especially futuristic things happened since we would've otherwise heard or seen some remnants in the end of time regarding those things, but everyones still using equipment and stuff from around the divine era from what we can tell. Since after that we get the ruined era and the world had pretty much halted progress by then.

Yea sorry ancient era it's been a long while, forgot about the name. I was mostly intrigued about lore expansion in the endgame since it's only monoliths and a chase run losely tied to the main plot a bit like POE did over the years. Why is it that Void Cleave is where only swords and axes can be and got one of the best minion boosts for forge guards but you can't use the set item Sunforged Hammer with it or hammers in general?

Hi, can't find this question, so I will ask. Does exalts and non-uniques in general have some code behind it for legendary crafting? I mean like predetermined order in which affixes will go on LP with and without an option to pick 1 guaranteed affix. Why I asking? I was making some lp2-lp3 attempts with duplicated exalts from rune of creation. And every time legendaries ended exactly the same way. Exactly same affixes in exactly same order. Sample size was small because I dont had many runes and you can only duplicate item ones, so this is pure speculation on some coincidence. But may be someone can confirm this on code level or if answer to this already here in discord and I simply cant find it?

Both 2 and 3lp slams have a 1/3 chance of hitting the 2/3 affixes you want respectively
It's actually kinda funny. Nowadays all slams are either guaranteed or 1/3 chance. That wasn't the case before the guaranteed 1lp

Trophies (aka achievements) are a platform requirement for Playstation so they'll have to add them as part of (or before) the console release

If we get up to 10% max for fork that means we can go up to 50% chance as of what they have revealed so far

I wonder if there is a way to optionally get a specific corrupt affix instead of it being completely random. (unless there is some context I am missing, of which I can wait until next season when more details on item corruption methods are explained in greater detail via patch notes.)
I have a question about the loot filter. You’re adding significant changes to it, along with new bonuses for items that can be obtained and for idols. Would it be possible to release the updated loot filter, say, the day before the new season starts? No one wants to sit around setting up filters during launch; it has a big impact on the enjoyment of the game. It should be added earlier so players can set it up before the start. You could release a small patch the day before—the servers are down on launch day anyway—so players could set up the loot filter during that time.
No, I'm sorry that is not possible this late in the process. It could have been done but it's way too late. However, it would require remaking all of those changes on the current live build of the game. It's something that seems simple but is actually a pretty huge project. It could possibly require more work than putting it in initially because it would need to work without all of the item changes because it generates what is possible from the item list.

I also wonder why the new rogue set helm affix shard has health gained on shadow creation in the first place? It makes no sense. Life builds have leech and don't need it really (and we even have passive that gives hp on shadow creation already and and a node in sync), and lowlife can't use it at all because it messes up your hp. We don't even have a tech to disable life on hit/crit/shadow creation so why is it there in a first place, because the only reasonable explanation is that it is intended to mess up LL, and if it's the case I'm also wondering why is it necessary?

yes anything that scales with a base stat that has been converted will continue to scale when the stat is converted

People of support can be wrong. Have you explained to them (without accusing them of lying) why you think they are mistaken? This might allow them to reconsider their position and provide a new response. Perhaps they're simply unaware that this type of pricing is possible on Steam and/or that a specific procedure from the development team is required but they don't know about it. EHG may have simply applied the default settings without giving it much thought. I think you're genuinely passionate about the game, and your fellow Polish players could benefit from a competent and impartial ambassador.
Avoid letting your anger speak, which is certainly legitimate but counterproductive, during negotiations.
EHG has a policy to not correct bugs during a season, if the bug is there day 1 you have 90%chance (more actually) that it will stay during the whole season.
As this one is popular it is probably corrected for season 4 (lets hope they didn't add an other one in the process and tested it this time).
Mike has a policy to not give bug update here. Sometimes he does an exception. You will have your response next week with the full patch notes anyways.

This isn't true. They normally don't make any balance changes mid season. But they will fix bugs, especially if they're a net negative. But sometimes even if they result in positive power.
Usually they correct a few bugs the 3 first weeks, then the dev team works for next season and i have no a example in mind when they will correct a bug mid season.
This organization is understandable, as it need to be corrected in multiple different versions of the game once the works on next season started and to correct it anyway will double the task force and the chance to make errors.

Ehg does fix bugs but for let's say 1 month and a half which wouldn't be too bad if season was like 4 months ,since this one and others have laster 7 months and higher i hoped they would still have 1 person fixing bugs since it feels pretty bad playing a rework or basically something new and its bugged for 7 months or more . As per the recent discussion in general, where cyborgwars kindly helped my somewhat thick skull understand in what way the whole game works in the sense of inheritance of properties from one object/entity to its children, I am still mildly unsure on where the minions of minion skills start and what sort of reference material would us outsiders have to get an idea on what can constitute a reasonable idea to form into a suggestion on the subject of minions.
So far, I get that minions are a sub of actors, much like player characters are also a sub of actors that is distinct from minions. Sounds like a sort of tree-like structure and if I remember my tree traversal algorithms, it can get resource intensive to go from one node to another on a different branch. (I say sub here as an ad-hoc for child of unknown rank)
Which is how I understand why it can be tough to update minions dynamically on the basis of player changes. Got to asking myself if "on value updated" kind of triggers would work such that if player character updates a stat, then minions update their derivative stats on the fly, but I gather that's just not feasible in terms of keeping the game fluid for the player?
Not that I have an actual suggestion being built up at the moment, but I am rather "useless suggestion" averse in that I try to not even formulate any such things.

This is not the case the player character is an actor with no creator.
Every minion has a direct reference to its creator and the "tree" only ever goes 2 deep so traversing it is relatively cheap. And even then there are only 2 sources of that.
My advise for making a suggestion to a complex system that is partially obscured is to not attempt to propose a solution but rather outline an issue.

Is the Careful Assault node in Shadow Cascade getting its behavior changed? Currently it snapshots the amount of shadows when you directly use it and keeps the bonus until next direct use.
With all the rogue changes I could see its snapshotting being removed or the functionality changed but it would be a rather large damage bonus to lose for cascade
With this new Volcanic Orb set (Keplahan's), if you have converted VO to cold via the tree and you proc a fire VO using a fire melee attack, does the resulting orb procced via the ring get converted to cold?

Each ring specifically says which type of orb it procs, so it should only proc the exact type it says (ignores cold and void conversions, similar to how fire tornado gloves work). So, it would proc a fire VO, in that example.

Dont wanna be the party pooper for all rogue enjoyers, but shadow cascade really didnt need a buff to compensate the loss of snapshotting careful assault 🙂 the boss rotation and single target dmg was always there even without snapshotting. We only lose dmg while mapping if we constantly use Shift which was rarely the case.
But im happy to see snapshotting got removed.
Does the poison penetration from the Knowledge of Immunity node on Acid Flask apply to poison stacks applied by acid flask, or just to the actual hit damage of the flask?

I'm assuming the poison penetration does apply to stacks of poison, since it wouldn't make any sense to restrict it to the actual hit damage since that is purely physical damage. Curious about the more damage nodes though.
Yes, the penetration passes down to ailments as you worked out, fun side note, there is no way to deal poison damage with a hit in this game.
All more multipliers in skill trees apply to the ailments those skills cause (with some exceptions; multipliers based on enemy state like "vs. chilled enemies" don't apply to ailments unless specifically stated). The multipliers do still follow all restrictions, so like "more hit damage" on the explosive flask node won't affect poison or ignite since those don't deal hit damage. Some nodes even give "more direct damage" which just means it won't apply to any ailments.

Noting that 93% of characters haven't annihilated Abby, how do the skill trees for low corruption (100-200c, 250c) differ from the "meta" trees?
Does the variance tend to smooth out slowly or are there steps?

there are more than 5 types of champions. unless you mean the omens, of which there are only 4. so yes clearly there are more altars than omens so its not locked.
how is it fair to consider stat conversion a good corruption outcome in case of guile where you convert lets say 100 dex to guile and:
-loose 400 dodge(equivalent to double max rolled T7 on rings)
-loose 100 increased armor (max rolled t7 on body)
+gain 30 cdr ONLY for traversal (T7 cdr on belt\boots is 32% and UNIVERSAL)
We trade basically 4 t7 affixes(the 4th one being the corrupted conversin affix) for like a half of t7 or less, and it becomes even worse the more dex you convert
Please make it make sense

If a maxed character reaches about 200+dex, he gets about 60% CDR out of it. If he avoid hits, he 1 to 1 trades more farm speed for a defense stat he might not need anyway.
That can be a huge gain and because we know, that evade gets affected by it aswell, it can make progression even faster.

when you corrupt an item, there is a chance for it to become unable to be equipped at all, effectively destroying the item
an idol being in a refracted slot or not is a binary state and is not a multiplier per slot. (tested it to make sure)
I don't have a specific build in mind for it but rather I just mean that they are generally designed to be built around. A less extreme example being that you are probably not going to build huge ward or reduced damage taken from crits and take madness.

I'm not sure I can agree on the premise of the question enough to answer it properly. Tanky builds will also significantly benefit from many potential corruption outcomes.
Could you point out specifically where tanky builds will benefit from it? Sure, we saw a few decent corrupted affixes, like %max hp as end threshold, but from what we know, the vast majority of "positive" effects are only good for zhp build, like all the attributes conversions or the 3 new corrupted based revealed today
There's clearly a theme of trading defense for offense with corruption
without going to look through them to find specific examples, I'd have to say things like %max hp and end threshold
that's the one example we know and I gave
vs everything else towards zhp
there is also every other defensive affix in the game that can come from it too.
Note that not all corrupted affixes and stuff are a tradeoff of defense for offense
the general theme of the corrupted attributes is along those lines
those are 2 examples of non offense at the cost of defense style corrupted affix
Good to know there'll be more options for tanky builds
But it still feels weird that attributes conversions and the new corrupted bases are so heavily trading defense for offense, in a game where zhp has always been an issue for balance
Having offense and defense as affixes is still a 50-50, then tilted towards zhp with attributes/bases
Hopefully there's stuff we dont know about that will restore that balance
I guess on the flip side, I'm interested in whether or not corruption outcomes (affixes, base types, stats, whatever) exist that do the opposite, and trade offense for defense

So back when Idol altars were first teased their layouts were shown in kind of runic markings above the altar.
Now in todays reveal those runic markings were replaced by showing the actual altar as slightly tilted item.

I also like the old ones, but since Idol Altars are items, that would be inconsistent, imagine if you put on a Red Ring and instead of the item art for the unique/base type it would have just the artistic representation of a ring (like on the Echo reward screen) when you move it from your inventory to your equipment

I don't think any affixes are shared between idol shapes so does that mean that if a 3x1 rolled, for example, 'damage over time' that the value would scale higher than it typically does even though that stat isn't available on 4x1 idols?
(the example shown in the post is a 1x3 with affixes from the 2x2 and 4x1 pools, which is presumably indicative that they aren't shape locked)
Sentinel adorned and huge idols both have block effectiveness suffixes. Do our Omen idols have two identical suffixes or did you remember to truncate the duplicate?

I buy all the support packs every season, but the trend of the cosmetics being very over-the-top, flashy, glittery, spiky, and complicated is very unappealing to me, it's visually difficult to read the aesthetic and understand what I'm looking at... In general, it starts out as a gut instinct backed by experience with similar systems elsewhere. It then goes through a lot of internal feedback and iteration. We sometimes do up some graphs to help visualize it in discussions. Then when we are pretty confident in it, the community tester program gets involved and we get feedback from a wider audience that maybe isn't so personally invested in how the system comes out. We also guage reactions from people who haven't tried it but learn about it from announcements. That last one hold the least weight because hands on experience is better but also a wider variety of feedback is important.
This specific number has changed so so so many times over the course of development for it.

Yes, you can corrupt an item you mirrored with Rune of Creation. (and I would recommend using that to have a backup if you really like the item!)

Does detonating arrow still count as a bow attack when used with jelkhor's blast knife? In testing it doesn't appear to proc bow mastery, but it does not remove the "bow attack" tag when I have the knife equipped.

That's kind of the entire point of Jelkor's, check the flavor text. Jelkhor was "the greatest archer and artificer in all of Majasa's domain" and lost his left hand, forcing him to learn how to fight without a bow.
The dagger by itself does completely remove the bow tag.
If you checked the tooltip really quickly it might not have updated yet

In the revealed idol altar layouts there are some that have more space together with more refracted slots, can some of the altar modifiers be negative so that the choice of using those layouts is having to navigate the negatives. If not I'll just assume they are rarer drops

I don't understand one of the nodes for Shadow Rend that was teased. Shadow Massacre seems to me to have the same function as using Shadow Cascade on its own, but with extra mana cost. Does the wording of Shadow Rend make this function any different from using Shadow Cascade or any other trigger for Shadow Cascade? I assume you get the Shadow recursion from Unending Twilight when consuming them this way at least?
Would the Shadow Cascades from this skill gain any benefit from something like the Coated Blades passive in the rogue basic passive tree? The wording seemed different on the trigger, I don't think I've seen another skill use the word 'imitate' before.

Does this allow SC to benefit from other SR nodes that we haven't seen? Wondering what the intent behind this node is more than a mechanical explanation if you get what I mean
I was confused on this, too, but aside from the QoL of being one button press, the node they show right after gives 60% chance to not consume the shadow, which is pretty substantial. (Might be other nodes, too.)
At its base effect though, I think it's fair to say it's primarily a bow user node.
was gonna say this, also with the new set you can essentially maintain shadow gen using 1 skill, so the mana consume is a cost for that QoL
Agreed, the two nodes shown deff lean toward a bow synergy. Seems hard to make the 6m distance to proc those when you're trying to stack your shadows on top of enemies in melee. We'll see what the rest of the tree looks like, thanks

I'm not sure, I was going to test it but I'm dealing with a big merge conflict at the moment and won't be able to load in for a bit. If it works with flat, then it should just work like normal with percentage too. the "at least 20% of maximum health" would just set the heal value pre conversion to be at least 20% of maximum health then effects happen.
the flat ones are health gained on potion use, so the difference is it saying restore but Im guessing its just to explain it better rather than having it work differently
RE: 10% Critical Strike Multiplier for Jormun's Set
From Justin: Yes, the focus of the set is the 2 piece bonus. We wanted the set to have 3 pieces, 2 weapons and a belt, to give you plenty of options on how you reach that 2 piece bonus, and didn't want players to feel forced to equip the entire set. So the 3 piece bonus is very minor.

Does all subskills from Upheaval and EQ (aftershocks) convert to lightning ?
Along that thread, do upheaval's nodes get any conversions? Several of them are "locked" as either phys or cold to incentivize gearing them differently, but if lightning a significant portion of the skill tree will be dead
It's based on which stash you have access to, so since SCF characters each have their own stash, they will always have the tutorial. It does give you a movement speed ring though, so hopefully that makes up for the short time spent clicking the UI.
For reference, I just speed ran the tutorial in 15sec without practice. I'm sure blasters will easily beat my current world record time. 😉
I tested out a few nodes for you and this is what I found:
- Wisps will do a fire AoE when they repeat Dancing Strikes, regardless of which attack procced it.
- If they repeat your first attack and you have Hidden Blade, they will also use Shadow Cascade.
- If they repeat your second attack and you have Shadow Steps, they will also create a Shadow (up to your limit).
- If they repeat your second or fourth attack and you have Windmill Ballet, they will also have a chance to throw Shurekins.
- The wisps don't impact your Rhythm stacks, because Rhythm specifies it happens "when you use Dancing Strikes."

nothing actually happens simultaneously, each will look at the one immediately before it. If two of the same type are triggered by one ability, the second one is not different than the first.

with the introduction of "Knowledge" now being the requirement to unlock empowered monos, do monos still need to ran in progression sequence to unlock the next ones or can we skip and go straight for the 80+?

You can run the non-90 timelines in whichever order you choose.

Yes it uses Explosive Trap's tree, but it counts as an indirect cast.
