it’ll boost everyone’s power level by having many bad slams but increasing stats in other ways. Instead of worrying about a negative res nihilis you get an all res slam from somewhere else

at some point you have so much gear you’ll not be gated by bricking an item

Slots with rare powerful corruptions will be stuck on 1lp but more accessible than 2t7 slams

We're currently working on Last Epoch: Orobyss, and our console (Play Station) release. I can't say what the future may hold beyond that, but that's our focus currently.

Last Epoch: Orobyss is not a "Last Epoch 2", but rather a large expansion to Last Epoch.

Though perhaps odd; How things "feel" is often actually much more important than presenting as objective. As I've said in the past - it doesn't matter if it's technically correct, if it doesn't feel that way. A good case of this was item fracturing.

We used to have a system for crafting items instead of Forging Potential. There was a chance for the craft to fail, and 'fracture' the item, preventing further crafting. Players often felt like the fracture rate was much higher than stated (though it wasn't). We changed this system to forging potential, which effectively creates the same results, but feels much different having a known 'end' to crafting. While it may not yet be a perfect experience, it is a much better "feeling" experience than an item randomly breaking on you.

Regardless of crafting outcomes, I still love the original fracture sound which was repurposed as the soul cage death sound. Most satisfying sound ever imo, haha.

We're definitely working on both improving and expanding the available cosmetics. A lot of it comes down to what the tech can support (shaders, physics, etc.), but I think we've been making big strides. We also did feedback gathering on MTX and have made some changes to planned future cosmetics to reflect that feedback.

I know the audio team has been very hard at work recently, and I can't say much, but... uhhhm, I can't say much, haha. We're definitely looking to improve both clarity and combat feel with audio for sure.

There's no single story skip, the dungeons throughout the game serve as mini story skips, each skipping a portion of the campaign

But to do them you need a key which only drops after the level they'd drop you off, so it's a mechanic meant for subsequent characters

There isn't really a "good" way to give someone gold in this game. The only way would be listing an item on the bazaar if you're merchants guild and the other person buying it but that involves a tax and could be flagged as being suspect (RMT) so I wouldn't risk it

I don't get what's so bad about the campaign that people would just want to skip direct to monos, other than like, the part late game where you have to grab some jewels being a bit annoying
also I'm pretty sure grim dawn doesn't have a skip, but it does allow you to take some shortcuts on other characters which...last epoch also lets you
you can jump to the final campaign somewhat early but you're going to get your ass kicked by the trial that comes before you're even allowed to go into the campaign

A campaign skip makes sense when there are other leveling options. See D4 where there is scaling as you said. Or the various amount of difficulty modes or the various open world options to level.

LE is the campaign + monoliths. Monoliths start at level 58 and up to 100 with corruption. You would need to redesign monoliths or add different modes for easy/similar leveling to the campaign.

You need a proper framework for any suggestion/implementation you want to see.

Finally you can just be level 15 and start monoliths (after you choose mastery).

I am personally against scaling at early levels, it doesn’t make sense when scaling is your endgame.

I suspect you would also need to redesign the various other systems including skill points and spec points and probably change the whole leveling system.. I think Mike has said why they chose to make level 100 a goal instead of something easy to reach

What I would love is to be able to choose my damned faction much earlier. I skip after chapter 7 when I get idols + passive points and no one teleports me to chapter 9 when I ask.

If the reason you are not playing and not paying is because there is not a campaign skip then probably the game isn’t for you.

Mobile usually requires a ground-up development approach where every development decision asks the question "will this work on mobile?" and the current state of LE is seemingly far from being "mobile-friendly" both from a UI/UX perspective and from a performance perspective. The changes needed to make this work would be significant which takes away from the concerns of the core audience.

So I doubt it.

It is not. Seasonal characters (currently) get exactly the same benefits as non-seasonal characters. Offline also gets the same benefits. That may change at some point where seasonal gets more benefits (seasonal mechanics) but offline should stay at the same as online.

The difference to offline is the trading aspect whcih obviously can't work. Your real choice is once you reach chapter 9 to join Circle of Fortune for SSF boosted loot.
