thats from a lack of asset files, if you scroll down to the bottom of your hollow knight data folder, you should see something like sharedassets391.assets.resS

downpatching takes a while, anywhere from 5 minutes to a couple hours, it will be significantly slower than your download speed

Looking up the capture card they said they use it looks like it does not support streaming, you have to plug in a usb device directly to the capture card and it saves directly onto the usb

If you need a cheaper end capture card, my go to recommendation is usually Avermedia. Even Elgato has some cheaper external cards. Just anything that goes straight to obs is what you need.

and if your thumb drive is capped at 2GB

I'm pretty sure the thumb drive Is not capped at 2GB because it can still hold the video, just cut up. I think the capture card only has 2GB of space, so it can only export the videos to the thumb drive in 2GB files

Also with the playing it on PC, I use a Mac. HK runs pretty poorly on it.

Elemental's theory sounds very plausible. FAT32, (one of the most common partition formats for thumb drives) has a file size cap of 2GB. This might be the case for your drive, or your capture card just tries to make a safe assumption.

(yea I know fat32 can handle more in some circumstances, just saying it's plausible)

I would check to see if theres an easy way to turn the 2gb cap of first without hacking into it

If you look up at the messages rixxian points out that many thumb drives have a file size cap at the 2 gigabyte mark, so no, it is probably a thumb drive issue and not a capture card issue

I am pretty sure downpatching on a mac is possible. However, earlier you mentioned you weren't sure hk would run well on your pc, so it is likely that 1221 would run considerably worse. It may be worthwhile trying out cp for now regardless

basically you're jumping just a bit high in a couple places, takes extra time to fall back down

not sure on CP timing but it certainly looks pretty tight

Krythom made a guide for any% nmms and in that is an explanation of many useful glitches for 1028 runs, there's also an any%nldg guide on src that's really outdated but the explanation of glitches there is still good, those all work on any patch 1.2 and earlier. Mickely also submitted a 100%TE NMMS run to gdq and the video for that has a bunch of explanations for glitches that exist on 1.2 and earlier (his run is 1.1)

Just found this out in my new steel soul run, dunno if it would be faster than whats currently being used, but if you hit hornet with vs right as you enter the arena, before touching the ground, the fight just starts and the dialogue is skipped. She also takes the damage, so its not wasted soul
