Egypt has certainly had some difficulties in the past. I think we can all still remember 2011.

I can imagine that in retrospect it is somewhat disillusioning and one had hoped for more through political change.

But don't get me wrong, of course I'm not an expert on Egypt either, I more or less just followed the news at the time.

But no democracy achieved sadly. We fought in 2011 what now looks like an unfair fight.

Also it's complicated. Once we remove a totalitarian regime we are always reminded by how some 7th century fundamentals can just take over.

Most westerners don't know how much shit Egypt went through because of fundamentalists tho. They have killed too many Egyptians the past decade sadly.

So in general Egyptians now adays sre just tired of trying to make Egypt better or as stable as it once was. sadpepe

I have the feeling that whenever political opportunities open up, no matter who created them, a battle breaks out between democratic and authoritarian forces. Or, generally speaking, all kinds of interests.

The real struggle somehow always goes on.

I have also seen it, for example, in newly formed parties. No matter what their basic orientation was, people always try to exploit it.

I tend to believe we in Egypt are in a similar situation as Europe right after Napoleon era. When European nations wanted to claim a reformed democratic non monarchy system.

As pessimistic as I am, but I can see the middle east changing to the better. It will take time maybe a century or so. But we will get there. People are just fed up.

Yes, it's certainly not easy to have a real verbal conversation. I think the B level should perhaps already be reached. Of course, it depends on how much vocabulary you know and not necessarily on whether you do everything the right way or not. No need to be perfect.

It is used here to form a sentence with the infinitive of a verb.

Ich esse, um zu überleben.
I eat in order to survive.

It's comparable with the English 'to'.

It depends on the preceding verb whether you need the 'zu' or not.

To make it even worse, every now and then you can also choose whether to use it or not. 😅

But there are also clues as to whether or not you should do it when there is a choice to be made.

Also das kann man schon so machen, es gibt allerdings auch Grauzonen, bei denen der Gebrauch von 'wo' als Adverb sehr umgangssprachlich wird. Gerade dann, wenn es für der, die, das usw. steht, das sollte man vor allem im Schriftlichen vermeiden.

Es ist so, dass es vielen als schlechter Stil vorkommt, Relativsätze mit wo einzuleiten. Allerdings sollte man das schon immer etwas differenzierter sehen und nicht vollkommen verallgemeinern.

#

Gerade wenn es einen räumlichen Zusammenhang gibt, ist es oft doch recht angebracht.
