Yes, I had that problem today. Restart ur wifi router and uninstall and reinstall VRChat. That's how I fixed it.

Hello! I just bought a quest 3 for wireless PCVR, I have two 1.0 base stations ( I think thats what it is) and three 3.0 vive trackers. Now when starting up the quest headset from the air link, steam link, annnnnnd virtual desktop, the base stations would not connect automatically and I cannot add this manually. Has anyone had this happen?????? Not sure if this is the right channel but I think so?? haha, either way, all help is appreciated, nothing really about it online.

well. WD-40 contact cleaner, you can use a little bit of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) get a repair but just do the first 2 steps if you want an temporary fix at home instead of getting an repair because it’ll cost you

You likely made a mistake in the software. It depends on what method of connection you use for pcvr. Steam link, meta link, and virtual desktop all use their own brand of virtual microphone that needs to be set as your input. Your output will be the virtual mic for vm. Set that as your pc default mic and in game set vm as your input mic.

I hate how finicky the movement gestures for hand tracking is.
You need to keep your had in the perfect position with a molecular freeze in positioning otherwise it just cuts you off and makes you do the gesture again.

Although it is finicky by nature due to how it tracks (since you need to be directly in front of the cameras to allow for tracking), you can improve it a little by making sure there is quite a bit of light.

I think i just caught the first ever vrchat ghost
I was in Nuke sandbox, and i was with only one guy, suddenly on a highway far away from the both of us, someone or something shot a rocket from there and it crashed onto the road
Only me and the guy were in the game
Then after the guy left and i was all alone, it shot 2 rockets towards the sky to my right, is there any reason as to how or why this might happen?
No one i had blocked was in the world and vice versa, since the other guy couldnt see him too

I'm thinking about returning/replacing my quest 3 on Amazon because it has dead pixels and I have 10 days left to return it. Some people say they go through multiple quests until they find a perfect one so it's going to be a fun journey. Definitely worth returning it, I have not either heard of dead pixels being a common issue.
The only lottery part of the Quest 3 I've heard about is that they have/had two manufacturers making lenses, but I don't know if that is still a thing or not, only heard of it around launch.

I get about 5 hours with a 3rd party battery strap using virtual desktop, so not terrible but you can always plug in another battery pack which will be less restrictive than any wired pcvr headset if you're having a long session

No one actually knows what’s factored into trust in VRChat expect speculation and buying VRChat+ automatically gets you from Guest to New User

Speculation tends to include friends, not getting muted/blocked, uploaded content (including how popular it is), time in worlds, number of worlds visited, how active you actually are in a world (standing silently in front of a mirror in a private world with one person vs actually having a conversation), etc
Again though that is just speculation, other than VRChat+ giving a boost no one but the devs know how the trust system actually works

i use the s3 pro and have two additional batteries along with the 3 slot battery charger. gives me unlimited wireless play time. but everything they make is awesome. so the choice is do you want the cool air fan to eliminate eye strain (s3) or just more battery (m3) or just a really good weight distributor (slim). you dont lose anything as you move up the series, they just add more features.

yeah. on the s3 you cant use the fan and the pcvr cable at the same time cause there is only one usbc plug. so if you will always be tethered by the cable then the slim is the right choice. if you also will go wireless then you may want the higher battery options

I can't say much about the quest 3 but I know the quest 2 works just fine, sometimes I do get lag spikes and it's gotten a bit slow over the past two years I've had it but it works just fine. And as for trackers, I talked to someone on VRC yesterday who had them and he said that you shouldn't get the stations, just the ones that go on your body, they ARE around $600 tho

In my experience, the quest 3 does run games quite well! It ran standalone VRChat quite well too [If you're curious how standalone quest VRChat runs on the headset]. (PCVR streaming to the headset also runs super well too depending on the wireless environment and connection) [I would recommend the Quest 3 as a beginning starting headset to simply enter VR but with great visuals and stuff too])

But as for trackers and headset? It depends on the budget [like if you want to go with steamvr trackers like the vive tracker 3.0 or the tundra trackers, you will need to buy base stations if the headset you choose does not come with the base stations. SlimeVR trackers do not require base stations {I do know you will need or very likely need to use PCVR for using the SteamVR based trackers}].

I think the cheapest solution might be to use one of the phone apps on your smartphone to track full body using the camera on your phone [I haven't tried it myself yet so I'm not sure how well it works]. While the most expensive solution (depending on the headset you get) is going the steamVR tracked route with base stations and vive 3.0s

(the above is at least according to memory from research and other information)

Yea! For PCVR streaming, you can use Steam Link (the free app on the Quest itself) as an easy solution to streaming SteamVR to the quest 3 (Airlink works too but I think you need to install the meta app on your PC to do this [This does allow you to also use a cable to stream PCVR to your headset too if the wireless situation isn't very good]. I got my dad a Quest 3 for Christmas last year and he does enjoy it! (but I do borrow it more than he uses it)

My main headset is a Valve Index. (The resolution of the valve index is lower than the Quest 3. Resulting in the Quest 3 getting sharper visuals from testing)

It is clunky, but you can.
It does support USB audio though so if you get a splitter dongle then you could get a headphone jack back.

The speakers are supposedly the same as the Quest 3 though so you honestly don't really need them, for musical things they might not be enough, but for social VR they definitely are, the spatiality of sound is better when the speakers aren't right on your ears.

or the people you're talking to dont have a properly optimized quest version and need to be manually shown with the Eye icon maybe

some avatars are too large to not need to be shown with the Eye icon, if its all models that're being pixalated then mess around with your imposter settings but if its only some then you're kinda SOL as it'd need the avatar author to make it within the minimum ranks to be fully shown as default

I set my safety settings to a minimum, but still, I have to manually select every user and disable shield for them in order to see their avatar fully (in some cases they're low-res/pixilated until I do so)

So, i recently upgraded from a Quest 2 to a Quest 3 and my steam link connection...is not usable.

I'm using a Syntech 6m cable (supposedly rated for Quest 3 link connection) and when I booted up my games, the quality was awful and the stuttering was making my experience unplayablw

maybe someone had the same issue and knows how to fix it?

you can usually help extend the battery life a bit by playing until the headset dies for a while and keeping that consistent for battery health. rn I’m back on my “playing until battery low and then plugging the headset in” grind but it’s def better to let it die so it maximizes battery life
