It does not have inside out body tracking.
Specifically the Quest 3 can track your elbows and chest, but hip and legs are entirely untracked and are simply estimated based on the position and rotation of your headset and controllers, it is simply a bit better than what VRChat is already doing when you lack FBT.

And no, the standalone version of VRChat does not support it and there is no way for you to make it work.

Virtual Desktop is one of the few apps I know of that actually put in the work to support IOBT (as the feature is known by), but of course it only works in SteamVR games and it is sort of jank, you need to know that when doing the calibration in VRChat you need to, of course T-pose, but also open the Quest's menu (how Virtual Desktop is triggering IOBT to recalibrate itself)

Yes and no. You can use Bluetooth mics, however it's not reccomend. The latency is awful, you'd need to have a low latency Bluetooth adapter plugged into the usbc port on your headset for it to be useful, but the con of doing so is pretty obvious.

To begin with, you can't use a headset with a mic in the 3mm port. Doesn't work for input audio, only output. Q3 mic has always been good enough for me, especially after firmware updates ironed out the worst of it

You still have the same avatars and worlds, but the Quest 3 runs VRChat quite a bit better and allows you to show more avatars before running into the too many avatars shown error. The Quest 2 doesn't handle VRChat that well.

And if you plan to play VRChat standalone for a long time then the Quest 3 will be supported for longer, aside from just being supported by Meta for longer.

Meta is also, according to pretty solid rumors, announcing a cheaper Quest 3s/lite next month, which is basically a Quest 2, with better CPU, GPU and more RAM, so potentially the Q3 internal hardware, just in the shell of a basically Quest 2, so I would recommend against buying a Quest 2 right now unless you are going to use it for PCVR.

Yep you just need to set the materials tiling and offset in an fx animation. Spritesheet wasn't too large cuz the individual frames were pretty low res. To keep it all one material, there are color swatches at the bottom of each frame that the other body parts are uv mapped to. Spritesheet looks like this, tho there's also different color swatches to choose from so imagine 9 of these spritesheets tiled in a 3 by 3 grid.

Mocopi, is... ok. It's a more expensive, less performant SlimeVR but it is more available. You just need to curb your expectations with any standalone FBT because the tracking won't be as good as PCVR tracking using lighthouses.

they've set it to that limit for a reason and wont really change it unless the older versions of the quests stop being supported, even if you think it wont change anything they do some pretty thorough testing on that stuff before they force a change and it seems like they think it will infact brick your shit

From what I have heard it just works, if you are on both the SteamLink Beta and SteamVR beta (maybe needs to be Steam Beta too?), seems like they added it in a way that VRChat likes and for other games you can use the Steam Input bindings.

And with "just works" I mean it will be enable whenever you place your controllers down/tap your controller together/use the hand tracking button in the Quest menu.

I have been using the pro cons with Quest 2 and Quest 3. I think they are incredibly worth it, not even speaking of the better haptics, but they are also self tracking with their own integrated cameras. the stock cons rely on infrared, and thus must be in sight of the headset. Pro cons can track behind your head. applies to all games and such, not just vrc. kinda a game changer in beat saber as well.

doubtful, sounds like a calibration issue. you should make sure you are using your actual height in the settings in the vrc menu and change the associated settings.

its not more or less "realistic", but you wont have to worry about losing tracking if your controllers leave the sight lines of the front cameras. but in a way, it pretty much is.

hey, I was gonna ask you guys something. so, ive been looking into fbt. I have a quest 2, and I don't know if I should get base towers or whatever they're called, I'm just confused on what to get. I've watched videos, and I'm trying to learn before I drop a pretty penny. Any answers or tips?

You have a few things to consider:

1. Will you be primarily using PCVR (Quest connected to a PC either through a cable or wirelessly) or standalone (no PC)?

2. You have more options with PCVR, but do consider that base stations only work with PCVR, which still remains the most reliable way of achieving accurate tracking.

3. Standalone FBT is possible; however, these tracking solutions use a gyroscope to calculate position (the exception currently being Vive Ultimate Trackers, which use cameras for tracking). While they are decent, they are nowhere near as accurate as basestations currently but remains far cheaper.

4. The cheapest method of FBT is using your phone as a tracker via an app, but the limitations are very clear. You absolutely get what you pay for, but it can sort of act as a sample of what FBT can look like in VRC before you commit any real money. (The limitation is that the camera tries to render 3D movement with 2D imaging, so some movements are simply not possible.)

Well, shader transparency is not a feature of Quest. As you know, every upload of an avatar can be two very separate and distinct avatars: an pc one and a Quest one, both of which are bonded via the blueprint ID. You have a significant amount of leeway when creating a PC avatar for effects, but not so much on Quest. Once you experience PCVR, there really is no going back.

The real skill of an avatar creator is not piling on unoptimized effects and particle bombs, it's to create a performant avatar that looks good on either platform, if that is their goal. It's no wonder the "better" avatars are PC Only.

There is audio Crashers that exist. Set to a very specific frequency that breaks the audio completely.

And this is becoming a bit more common now but I've been having an issue where all my audio including the world's audio will go completely silent. And then my mic will not work as well

I understand the audio Crashers. But there is that one issue where all the audio and microphone breaks and does not work. It's like I have my quest audio all the way to mute. And it doesn't matter if I have a mic unmuted or on it will not register my voice

Indeed, in a sense. not saying its a bad thing to do, but worlds you frequent will just fill the cache up again, and quickly. its really only used as a troubleshooting step, and not something that needs to be done routinely. but keeping your cache low isnt a bad idea.

because, the stigma is the ease of access that quest provides. its fairly cheap, and easier to use and as such, makes it easier for little kids to run rampant. "Questmas" is the dread of all vrc veterans. PCVR users, FBT, etc, are generally of an older and more mature audience, in general terms. its really unfounded either way. I am primarily PCVR, but I have many friends who are quest, the only annoyance I have on rare occasion is choosing avatars that they can also see, in order to avoid being some random fallback on their end, as well as keeping them in mind when doing avatar uploads and making quest conversions, which can be a challenge on occasion.

quest people are a really mixed bag and you'll find more bad then good in public worlds, the same can be said about PC players but at the very least the rude,annoying overall terrible PC users usually stay in private worlds

ive also found that quest users often take the game far too seriously and make it unenjoyable for others in my experience

you can either use Airlink or a cord (id recc buying an off-brand one rather then the offical one they offer on their site)

you'd just need to download the Oculus/Meta app on your PC and run it in the background when playing PCVR

I just got quest 3 and I'm beginner

The quality is not as expected and differs from the screen capture like the screenshot or recording quality and much less than them

Objects that are far away and very close are blured

the objects are pixeled and not much smooth

the camera quality is very bad

It kind of hurts my eyes also

not sure if the quest 3 has this feature aswell but the eye screens might be adjustable apparently it does have this feature! its a little wheel on the bottom side of the headset (that or if you use prescription glasses you might need to get your prescription for your vr lenses aswell), and if your eyes hurt try lowering the brightness as low as possible and put it on

The Steam version is abandoned, it has nothing to do with Quest PCVR streaming, something only the Quest store version provides. PC side you just install the streamer app that is available on the virtual desktop website.

And Virtual Desktop is a alternative for Airlink.
