It does slowly discharge but yes, you can. Makes it last 8 or so hours.

Because of the 2 hour battery life almost everyone uses at least a battery bank, I personally have a long USB cable going to a wall outlet.

Yeah Like Machandelius said most cables will only slow down the battery depletion. If you want it to stay fully charged while playing on link you'll want a power delivery link cable that plugs into a wall outlet or battery bank.

If you use USB-A to USB-C it will sometimes still trickle charge or deplete depending on what youre doing in game.

How do I fix the Oculus PC app on my computer?

Head strap and facial interface

A new facial interface like a vrcover will help make it way more comfortable and less gross when it gets sweaty. The fitness facial interface is the best option which I use since it has more vents for airflow.

As for the headstrap that will make the headset feel way more secure on your head and help balance the weight out. My personal choice is the Bobo m2. They have a couple of different models ones with and without battery packs and that headstrap was probably my best purchase.

The only issue you might have with the bobo headstraps is they are larger than most. Which means the only carrying cases it will fit in are the ones bobo makes.

The one last thing I would reccomend for new quest 2 users is use the refferal program before you get your headset. It gives both you and the person who reffered you 30 bucks in the store for games.

i wouldnt say limitless though, just a much higher limit than standalone quest

this is why you need to make sure your computer has hardware that is strong enough for this game and vr, and let me tell you this game chugs hard

of course it always depends on how many users are in your instance (more cpu intensive) and what kind of optimization level these avatars are (more gpu intensive)

im oversimplifying but so you can get a general idea of what impacts performance

try going into your mini-menu settings and adjusting how many avatars are loaded at any given time

when im hanging out with friends in a public world, i keep those sliders low. nearest 2 avatars within 10 meters, always show friends, usually i keep 'avatar show override' off but ill turn it on when im hanging with friends of friends

You need a computer, Quest standalone does not support it.

With a PC you need to use ALVR and I would really recommend joining the VRCFaceTracking discord because it is still in the experimental stage. https://github.com/benaclejames/VRCFaceTracking (discord link is right under the title).

ALVR captures eye+face tracking information from Quest Pro and sends it to the PC where it pipes into the VRCFT software that then pipes it into VRChat using the supported OSC protocol.

Quest Pro is expensive because all of it is very complicated.

avatar support for hands and afces is strange. I got a new Oswald Rabbit avatar. It has a LOT of facial expressions controlled by gestures. And those faces all work in Quest. But the hands don't work in Quest.

There's a world I found that will commandeer your avatar to perform a J-Pop song and dance, and it does lip-sync if your avatar supports it. but the only avatars I have that support lip-sync are the Animaniacs avatars by Indig0. and even though the new Oswald has face gestures, the J-pop thing doesn't seem to do lip-sync on it.

so that tells me that there's a pretty long checklist to make an avatar work with everything

now, I'm rather to the entire VR and VRC thing and don't consider myself the most tech savvy person either (nor is english my native tongue). So I might round up with some questions, which might seem a little dumb - sorry for that in advance. 😄
I picked up the Quest 2 recently and wanted to have a go at VRC. All works, no problem there. The first thing I'm trying to figure out is what the essential differences are between PC and Quest avatars. Oh, I do run my Quest via link cable on my PC (steamvr) though. Does this even apply to me then?

you should still be able to see pc ava's then and the only differrence between them is that pc ava's have more polygons and shadders and other things abtout them that the quest just cant handle but since your playing through steam vr and link cable you shouldnt have to worry abt not seeing pc avatars

The Quest and PC content divide depends on where the game is run, you have linked your Quest to your PC, so the game is running on your PC, which means you see PC stuff. You are running the PC version of VRChat.

If the game ran on your Quest, then you would see Quest stuff. You are running the Quest version of VRChat.

Quest content has far stricter limitations (the Quest is a phone pretty much), so what one sees on Quest isn't often what one sees on PC.
PC content is usually higher quality and can have fancy effects.

When making content you have to upload it twice, once for Quest, once for PC, but things can be completely different if the creator wants it to be.

That is the capacitive touch, it is meant to activate when you are just touching a button. I believe the sensitivity is set into the hardware and it can only detect on and off.

If nothing has changed then it seems like it gets less sensitive with time.

However what you'll have to do is either get used to it, turn off gestures entirely (so no pointing, etc) in the radial menu or find another avatar, in my sphere it is common to see people's personal avatars almost entirely lack gesture->expressions.

VRChat has blocked a lot of VPNs, if you find one that works then it is not certain if it will stay working.

Individual people report this every now and then, it is usually not because of any recent update, not sure when Quest users haven't reported it.

But as not all Quest users are affected I would suggest reinstalling VRChat or factory resetting your Quest, the Quest's software certainly cannot be described as stable and VRChat demands a lot from it.

I cant play vr chat, it crashes when i try to join a world with more than 2 people in it. Vrchat load up fine into my home world just fine, but what i load into a world with people in it after 2 seconds it crashes to a black screen with three dots before closing, ive cleared my cashe, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, logged out logged in, done everything in my settings to fix it. Nothing has worked, no one knows whats wrong and now i have to wait 4-5 buisness days for support to just reach out to me...
Im on the quest 2, does anyone know what i can do? Other games work fine its only vrchat that does this.

I cant play vr chat, it crashes when i try to join a world with more than 2 people in it. Vrchat load up fine into my home world just fine, but what i load into a world with people in it after 2 seconds it crashes to a black screen with three dots before closing, ive cleared my cashe, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, logged out logged in, done everything in my settings to fix it. Nothing has worked, no one knows whats wrong and now i have to wait 4-5 buisness days for support to just reach out to me...
Im on the quest 2, does anyone know what i can do? Other games work fine its only vrchat that does this.

why is every avatar in fallback no matter what setting i put?

i tried making avatars be at very poor and take more megabytes and turn off all shields

and every single avatar shows a fall back

even if someone uses the same avatar i am using

That's because the avatar creators did not make their avatars quest compatable. Weirdly enough some avatars can still be uploaded as "quest compatible" but are so poorly optimized that they won't be visible to quest users.

Only thing I can think ab is uninstalling drivers and installing the newest version of just update any software that may be outdated or troubleshoot any hardware errors

If you’re going to uninstall drivers watch a vid on it, you could screw stuff up if you don’t do it right

bro all you need is scenors green bodysuit and the right computer program to document movement its like making hulk except your not using the special affects to make yourself larger its to capture movement with this frame work the program focuses of your entire body and importing it into a blender to mask your apperance and enlarge limbs to get accurate movement

so say if someone too this hollywood bs and made it to where we could wear a few sensers into the charging port it would be the easiest and cheapest fullbody setup this is the scam they pull on people they just put some fancy plastic over computerized scensors that control your characters movement in cordnation with your body

It melts because the plug wasn't inserted properly or dirt gets in between the cable's pins and the port.
So just insert it properly and do not unplug it if you want to keep extra safe.

if you play while charging, the headset will consume more power, more power = more heat. Facebook itself does not recommend playing while charging and state that the headset is not designed for this usage.
