Have any other Quest 2 users had this problem; my Quest 2 won't log into my main and only account so I'm not able to even open any apps to game. The only thing I've done differently is take it to somewhere without WiFi for 3 days.

so, ive got some pics i took in vrchat and i wanna put them on my pc. when i connect it via cable, it shows up in my devices list, but the oculus shows as empty and i cant access the internal storage. ive tried resetting the drivers as suggested on oculus forums to no avail. then i tried linking it to the mobile app, to no avail because it wont pair and i cant find the bluetooth settings on the headset... and connecting via cable to either has an 80% chance of the oculus saying vrusb stopped responding. any ideas?

I know a few flying avatars but even though they are quest compatible none of them work on quest.

flying avatars? i have a few that do that using a feature called Playspace

youre not actually flying per se, it just makes your avatar sit higher up off of the ground but your hitbox is still on the ground

one is RiRi from Celestial Avatars, and another is "I dont know what to name this" from Yes Please Ty's Avatar World. i think some of nonys also do it but i cant confirm

Because avatars that are not automatically shown are not optimized enough for quest. If every avatar was shown automatically, chances are the drop in frames would make you want to either projectile vomit, or tear off your headset that just caught fire from looking at the tiny anime girl model in the corner of the room with 180,000,000 polygons.

Guys, I need help with something so bad right now

I can't for the life of me get steamvr to show up in my quest, even when I boot it via air link into my headset

I try adding my account to this headset bc it's a shared device, but it forces me to add a pattern and then doesn't even recognize it the next time I try to log in

So ive been having a problem where i get these white semitransparent strips on my oculus’ screen. This happens after around 5 mins when i enter a public world. Apparently this is a pretty widespread problem among nvdia graphics cards. I’ve been following a 2-year-old thread thats still getting replies. Nothing has worked so far. Is there anyone here that has actully fixed the problem?

Does anyone have experience playing VRChat on Quest 2? My laptop is a toaster and I'm considering buying a Quest 2 just to basically be a VRchat machine but I've been reading a lot of reviews that say recent updates cause VRchat to lag a lot or crash frequently on Quest 2, and that you'd be limiting yourself creatively if you wanted to make content for VRchat, as well as not being able to access a lot of worlds and avatars.

i play almost exclusively on quest 2. yes, crashes can be somewhat frequent if you enable too many avatars at a time, and there are avatars that are made specifically to crash quest users. but those are pretty few and far between. as far as access to avatars go, quest isnt exactly hurting for quality avis, ive been collecting a ton of avis and worlds and can recommend places to find cool stuff. for worlds i wouldnt know bc pc only worlds are hidden by default. theres a few really fun games for quest but there arent many so i assume most are pc only

in my experience crashes are largely due to heat rather than processing power (having too many avatars enabled for a short span is fine if you notice the symptoms early, but more than like 15 seconds at most will crash you. also some avatars, like the voice activated stretchy avatars, are more likely to cause this issue)

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'm having a problem with my avatars in quest. I have quest compatible avatars, but whenever I change worlds I suddenly can't move my hands, I am above my character, and I can't open the expressions menu. Reloading the character doesn't fix this. If I change to a new character it works perfectly. If I change worlds with the new character that character breaks and I have to switch back to the old one. It becomes a tiring cycle of switching between two characters for every other world.

ive never encountered that issue before, but ive run into a few symptoms individually (one where the head proximity is too large so textures disappear from a bit farther away than normal, one where the hands stop visibly tracking in vrchat but still work normal). the former just goes away after a few world/avi swaps and the latter idrk

The official meta site I would say. Walmart is usually also pretty good about returns if you got any near you

Also if you do buy a quest, take advantage of the referral program. Even if you end up returning the quest 2 you'll still get 30 bucks in store credit for games.

At least then you'll be able to test the game performance for the quest without having to spend any additional money.

I know the Neo 3 can run anything the Quest can (in theory, since they both have the same CPU and buttons)

I'm not sure how big of a difference the elite strap will be, I've never worn a vr headset before

There's been issues in the past with elite straps breaking on people randomly

there's much better, more comfortable, and cheaper ones out there

Go for something like the Kiwi headstraps or Bobo m2 headstraps

They have powered options too

They do a hell of a lot better job with weight distribution and comfort

Yeah there's the m2 that's the first one, then the m2 pro with the battery, and then the m2 plus that just came out

M2 plus does not come with a battery pack by default btw that's a separate thing you'd have to get later if you decide you want extra battery life later

Well that's a good question, some say if you have a good headstrap the facial interface wont matter much. Personally though I got a bobo m2 and a vrcover. The combo is just heavenly

Hi! I hope this is the right chat. I am trying to buy an adapter (USB-C to USB) so I can use connect my Link Cable to my PC, since I have no USB-C port in my PC. I'm having an issue and I'm not sure why with airlink

So I just got my Quest 2, booted it up, went through the tutorial, and got the air link connected. Loaded up VRchat and it seemed fine at first, but it's been going back and forth between being fine and having massive input lag

My PC is more than capable of running vrchat (2080, 32gb ram, i9 cpu, 1tb ssd) so I assume it's an internet issue

But my internet is also quite good. Is it because the router is in another room 25 feet away?

There's a good chance that may be the case. Airlink/Virtual desktop does not rely on internet speeds, it relies on the connection speed between your pc, router, and quest.
This is why its important to have a dedicated router in the same room as your playspace, and have the router be connected to the pc via ethernet.

There's also a good chance those lag spikes are being caused by peoples avis. If it happens again set your security settings to max and see if that does anything. If the lag persists you'll know it's not other peoples avis at least

Ive been thinking about buying Meta Quest 2 and ive been wondering of thats ok enough? Its 300 so it's cheap compared to others and its why im worried a little.

Honestly don't let the price fool you, it may be cheap compared to the other options but there is a reason for it. Originally it would've cost 1000+ by any other company but because facebook wants to have their hand in the vr market they've offset that cost. So when you buy a quest 2 facebook is actually losing money for each one sold

As for youtube, discord and other things there are dedicated apps for youtube on the quest 2, albeit low rated. I perfer to use a video watching app called bigscreen since it can run youtube videos and other things like netflix if you wanted. However for discord, unfortunately there is no dedicated app for it on the quest 2. So to add discord you need to sideload an APK onto the headset

And one final thing. Even though people say it's 300 bucks, you'll likely spend another 100 for accessories. Like a better headstrap or facial interface since the default ones are pretty bad

I am 100% certain they don't care about quest modifications. Sidequest is a program that has been given an official thumbsup from Oculus. And considering it doesn't modify the vrchat client at all there's no concern.

Also unfortunately there is no way to give yourself prescription lenses via software. The only thing you can do is make the screen higher or lower resolution which will have no affect. It all comes down to how light is distorted through lenses. As such buying physical prescription lenses or a glasses spacer with a rubber buffer is your only option.

Yeah so you can connect to your pc and play any vr games that are on it. You have two options for it too, wired and wireless. The only catch you might have is airlink (the free wireless option) kinda sucks. But virtual desktop is a good replacement and works much better. But it's a paid program.
As for the space you need. You can play while sitting for most games and I'd say as long as you can swing your arms around in place you'll be good to go.
And finally banned accounts, I've heard the stories but personally I haven't met anyone who had the happen to them. As long as you use your real birthday and name in Facebook there won't be any issues. And even then, when the meta accounts replace Facebook in August they may remove the need for that too.

There is no difference if you go for a USB a to c cable as long as it's USB 3.0. Also most cables will not output enough power to charge while playing. Only slow down the draining. If you want to charge while playing look for power delivery cables not active cables but power delivery.

There is an aux port yes and you can use headphones while you play. Although keep in mind the headstrap you use may make wearing headphones a little more difficult. Since it'll get in the way.

And if you have headphones that use usb C for some reason, You can actually get sound out of the charging port of the headset too

Glad to be of help. The way the quest 2 works is the games run entirely off the headset, a phone isn't necessary at all. As such all your games will be stored on the headset too

This way you can play your games whereever you are with or without internet

That being said, the quest 2 does have the ability to connect to a phone or a pc

Connecting to a pc means you can play the harder to run and better looking pcvr games.
Connecting to a phone means you can change some settings like enable developer mode, or remotely start games/stream games

you essentially download the quest software on your pc and connect ur quest upto it and I think it starts using ur quest as a rift (since it says rift when u start the quest link) the only down side I see is not having full body tracking which you can probably get on the cheap with something like slime vr (cheap full body tracking) and you might need a decent pc
and it allows u to launch anything from steam vr library

I've only tested the vr chat pc vr ver as of yet not the others

Step 1: Factory reset your quest 2

Step 2: Go onto the meta website and remove the quest 2 device from your account

But I dont regret it because the difference was like 200eus so I took 64 gigs.
