so vrchat took down both those worlds and also the worlds where likely children would go

(also tbh vrchat probably isnt the best place to age regress)

Spending hours, days, weeks, etc. of work on something just to have you avatar stolen is honestly the worst feeling, and i really wish VRC would do something about it.

To add to what's been stated, no, adding encryption to avatar files will not prevent ripping. It is unfortunately impossible, full stop, to prevent ripping entirely - it can absolutely be made more difficult (for some period of time anyhow, until modified client makers work around it), but stopping it isn't possible. It's absolutely not an easily preventable problem either, there's lots of compromises made between security and usability. You want a good solution, not a band-aid

at some point, the avatar will need to hit your GPU. Encrypting the avatar file won't help with that, as it'll need to be decrypted at some point to be used by your GPU

I get how frustrating it is, absolutely, but it's unfortunately not an issue that's fully preventable, nor is it an easy-to-address issue

Well dude, as a Deaf person everyone is mute to me and I'm mute to everyone else yet I have loads of fun. I enjoy VRChat very much.

Look for worlds or avatars with pens (if you need a pen avatar I can give you one). I play a lot of pool in VRChat and the main pool world has pens.

For games like among us, I typically bring along a hearing signing friend so if I see a dead body or something, I sign to them and they tell everyone what I saw and they tell me who to vote. You could just use a pen avatar in among us though since you know what everyone is saying.

It's a little different for us than regular players but there's ways to work around it. If you're on VR use a lot of body language. You typically have to approach people first. Give them a little wave, bring a pen with you, and go from there!

as for Unity, this issue has been prevalent for many years, as far as I can remember

It's been a long-standing issue in Unity's input system afaik, though it admittedly should be fixable

not entirely sure how you'd go about that though, considering the game is kinda designed to work with both a keyboard and two VR controllers connected at the same time

you'd need to specifically ignore steering wheels, flight sticks, gas pedals, gamepad controllers, etc (unless the player wants to use one of these controllers for input), while permitting VR controllers

i have a question about ranks, i’ve been playing for almost 2 years and i’ve been at user. My friends who haven’t been playing as long have been getting known and trusted user ranks. Only one who is trusted has made avatars so I understand that but i’m more just asking about my friends who don’t make any worlds or avatars and just play the game.

odd then - generally just play the game, add friends, visit worlds, and don't get blocked/kicked/muted, etc

You can forever be stuck at user or any rank, it you get blocked. Muted. Hidden a lot. Time has nothing to do with rank. Actions you take in the game and how you engage with it does. Uploading public content also helps. And don't play music through your mic or behave in a toxic manor that results in being blocked or muted.

i generally don’t use my mic in public worlds, i also am pretty good at following guidelines and not annoying people. I was part of a toxic group so it is possible that they reported/blocked me once i left but if not i honestly don’t mind if i stay user, i was just curious

I got stuck at user for so long back in 2018 but that's because I started vrchat as a troll getting kicked and muted a lot during the knuckles thing so it made sense why it took forever to rank up to known when I started taking it seriously

then at around 650 hours i made an avatar that people liked a lot and i went to public worlds so everyone could clone it and at 685 i suddenly became trusted lol

Hey i need a mod or someone.. i can't log into my account, yes i filed a ticket in support and well its been awhile and i've lost all hope, when i try and go to vrchat.com/home it won't load, when i try and go to the login page it won't even load anything. i don't know whats happening and would love to know whats going on.

its been a day and a half and no emails have been sent to me, i put my email right, i checked spam and nothing

my account has been also locked because they think someone got into my account without my permission or something and i've put in a Locked Account Ticket and did get an email but not an email that tells me how to unlock it, the email says something like we'll get back with you soon on how to unlock your account. it hasn't happened yet. its been awhile.

I've looked up on how to fix this and nothing has appeared to work as well as I've read through multiple articles as well as Official ones from the VrChat support, this discord is ligit my last hope lol.
