Either way, yes, VRChat will use as many cores as you have available to whatever limit Unity has, which.. I'm not sure what it is, but it is a large number.

If i wanted full body.. a suit would probably be the best option i guess.. because im sticking with the cv1 no matter what.. i dont play games.. i use to cv1 for testing worlds and then once im happy i release.. but yeah im not one for paying out a few thousand or around that even for a headset i wont even use for gaming.

Personally I don’t think it should make a difference if you’re short sighted compared to normal
Because the pixels are being projected very close to you
So the only bluriness from being far away from things should be due to the resolution of the headset itself

The reality is that it definitely does. Speaking from two and a half years experience, using both a Vive and Index.

I won't claim to fully understand how it works, but I believe it's something to do with the lenses and how they effectively make it as if the panels are 2 to 3 meters away from you.

Which perhaps makes some sense on why people with long sightedness effectively no longer suffer it, if so.

#

Because if everything is effectively 2 to 3m away, then for many long sighted people nothing will technically be close enough to where they'd usually not see clearly, even if it's a book held "Up close".

#

I've just got this vague understanding about the "focal depth" of the lenses, or something, that someone once told me.

I read an article about whether VR use was harmful to the eyes, with obvious references to how ridiculously close the displays are.
But it pointed out that due to how the lenses work, the effective distance your eyes focus at is actually far greater than where you'd be focusing if using a monitor or phone.

And thus arguably significantly more healthy for them.

Most VR applications also encourage better use of the muscles required for rotating around your peripheral vision. The lack of which is another key source of strain from typical prolonged screen use.

On the VRChat subreddit someone promotes his site with a fully functional Avatar Search and the site uses your VRChat account credentials to login. It also offered to fricking download the assets of the avatar. It's currently the second most top voted post there. Some mod needs to remove that post.

Unfortunately the assets are heavy in avatars. Boosting the material count and particle count very high so i made a second version of the same avatars without the heavy features.
