the desktop 970 is already struggling a lot, the 970M is definitely even worse.
Trust me, there will be a big upgrade even going to a 1070 (on desktop)

I knew a friend who ran desktop on a 960, said if more than 6-7 people were in the room he couldnt keep framerate above 25.

I have a 1060 3gb myself, running an Index with full body, and it holds it's own in a room of 20+, but I definitely need to upgrade to atleast a 6gb gpu card.

Hello, I'd love some assistance or/and advice to solve my issue please.
I have so much lag in the game that it's almost unplayable. I'm using the Oculus Quest 2 with the Oculus official Link plugged into my PC. I have a great computer that should be able to handle heavy video games, yet I lag tremendously in VR Chat. Please help

That sounds like the 11fps bug though, which is caused by audio device issues

In the in-game settings, make sure an audio device is selected, and also make sure that audio device is functioning

on a hunch, try setting the ingame audio device to a different microphone, then close the game, replug the microphone, then launch the game again and set your microphone back to the correct device

That's not allowed either but with private instances that's a lot more reliant on if people will report you for it.
But all it takes is a single person with decent evidence to report you so always running a risk there.

This is usually the result of a vive user creating the gestures, as instead of actual hand positions it's just a trackpad touch.

The gestures are actually determined by the avatar creator and can be anything from none to a complex system with numerous combination possibilities.
That's why it is recommended to practice the gestures of the avatar you're using in front of a mirror until you've memorized the ones you'll use.
