its an already complete model , i converted it into a file i can use in blender, then into an fbx for mixamo to fix bones on hands, then back into unity

Could be that the materials used for the mesh were combined into one. If a model needs multiple textures, there would be multiple materials.

atlasing that doesn't just make one material that references multiple textures though, it makes multiple materials (all likely referencing their own textures) into one texture (image file) which is referenced by one material

We clear cache weekly, sometimes every few days. Load times get long if its around 17-20 GB :)

All it does is removes cached stuff.
What cache does is saves loaded stuff so next time it loads faster :)
So when you clear cache, on first startup everything loads, so it takes a bit, but you soon have enough stuff cached to not need to load a lot of stuff anymore
