Onboarding requires a minimum of 5 channels that @ everyone can read and write in, and 7 viewable channels in total. I'm not keen on this, but I think it can work because I can require they accept the server rules first in Onboarding before they can do anything.

Currently I use MEE6 reaction role in my Rules channel (only one that can be seen) for new members to accept the rules, then they can see other channels.

Onboarding with the Server Guide is very nice though. If you set it up like this it let's people pick roles, choose channels, accept rules and then guides new members to certain channels to view them and, if you want, make them post something (e.g. an introduction) before it guides them on to other channels.
Worth exploring it in a test server if you've not seen it. 🙂

You can always use the normal multiplier. It takes longer at higher levels.
