• Scary moment: Me running away from a high security inmate that broke out. Thankfully, the AI mech caught them in the end.
• Workout area: Me resting after an intense night workout, while the inmates slept.

A little context about this base...

I made this base out of curiosity and appreciation for this community...found that place by sheer accident...

Left it unfinished for months ...
It remained on wip state and on the backburner for months...

However... TODAY as in 02/02/2024....
My LIFE WAS SHATTERED INTO A QUINTILLION PIECES..

My mom who was my world PASSED AWAY...
I was heartbroken...
And in total darkness...
Depressed deeper than ocean depths....
I kept crying for months...
Until eyes started to hurt and blood shot...

However life had to move on...so one day I was just sitting on pc... listening to a song... Remembering my mom... But I decided to fire up nms.... And when I loaded up my save...
I landed on this base...
I looked at sun...
AN ETERNAL SUN...
A SUN THAT IS ALWAYS WATCHING...NOT BRIGHTLY.... BUT GENTLY...
storms came....
Lightning crashed...

But SUN ALWAYS CAME BACK... So i wiped my tears and under the gentle sun...I started to build...again...slowly...piece by piece... Part by part...

This is not a huge base...but it now represents a precious part of my life... And it reminds me that my mom may not be here...but she is ALWAYS WATCHING ME...and her blessings and light are with me....

And just like it's to me...
I hope you also find and feel the warmth of your loved ones who are no longer there with you irl when you visit this place...

I use multiple bases, but on the same account.

Each base gets me around 1000 u further.
When I get out of build radius I fly a little bit further away and place down a new one.

Was gonna say it would be really neat to visit or use as a racetrack lol you can only have 1 build uploaded on a planet from the same save tho, and you'd need a whole separate account for each part unfortunately. The moment you switch to a different save on the same account the base from the previous save disappears. I've been having a heck of a time trying to get the ones I have to show up, I use 5 saves on the same account. Didn't realize that would be an issue 😅

Yes, bases "drop off" from the list (like the bases shown in the space station's teleporter).

Sadly, we've always experienced issues with ODS not showing / returning all bases in our NMSCord Hub since opening. We assume the issue has to do with the game's limitation of base parts.

Long term, hubs with a large number of bases, that also generally have a large number of base parts do not show all the bases uploaded to players visiting the system. We have A LOT of bases in the hub.

And all hubs seem to experience this, which may explain why some communities set up rules (which technically can never be enforced) to limit the number of bases uploaded per system.

One option players have, for showing off their base is to invite a player to their group, in order to ensure the game prioritizes their base (as long as it's been uploaded ofc) for it to show to people in your group.

Ooh that'd be insightful, if someone actually has a number, even if it's an estimate. When we did tons of tests before opening the hub, the number of bases returned by ODS was surprisingly small. But over time that number also varied, which led some of us to conclude overall base part count played a bigger role on the limitation.

I repeat, PROGRESS!!! If I had given the updates actual names instead of numbers, this one would be called "PROGRESS!!!".

The time-to-arrive timer has started to count under one hour, which allows me to calculate the approximate % of bridge length compared to the goal. Now, the bridge is about 37,5% done.
Also, the bridge has started to tilt slightly upwards due to it's length, it might need some adjustment soon unless I want another orbital stair. Hoping there's another island ahead.

ok so I've been trying to test some specifics of how the server's xp system works and I wanted confirmation for some things (mostly regarding reactions):

1. do reactions have a cooldown for xp or is it only for messages getting xp and reactions giving the louvre lover role?

2. do heart reacts that weren't originally posted by Gunther count for xp?

3. do reacts in any other channels count for xp or is it really only #nms-photomode-gallery ? this might seem like a pretty stupid question but #the-louvre , which works on seemingly the same heart-react system, also apparently accepts heart-reacts from #no-mans-art and #legacy-screenshots

Will the glitched Remnants Expedition is finally over. 6 weeks and can’t finish on main save. After 2 weeks of grinding on my Xbox I finished what PS and PC did in 3 to 4 hours. What a Freckin joke. Evidently 6 weeks isn’t long enough to fix this pathetic update. I won’t start the next expedition until all the bugs are worked out. Lol. Maybe a week after release. Maybe 3. I'm not lost... I read that players from other in game civilizations are welcome, I'm not advertising or recruiting for anything. Aethelguard is a recently formed No Man's Sky civilization. We are reaching out to establish that we are active players looking to help anyone in every No Man's Sky in game civilization.

By "no political structure" I meant that we don't have leaders, chiefs, managers, there are no ranks or uniforms. We are just a casual group of people from this server who plays together from time to time.

In general we also don't do role-play, we don't require people to speak "in-character" etc etc. Really just a casual place to hang out.

I just got the game. I was running a extremely relaxed infinite credits run just to understand how it works before I start playing my main run, and I wanted to get a squidship beca they were cool so I went to a system that spawns it, went to a trading station and set a save beacon on top of the roof so I could reload my save faster to get more ships to spawn. Now every time I join I'm stuck in the wall unable to move, I can't place anything down, I can't summon any creatures, I can't get a ship close enough, moving in a loading screen does not work, the photo mode which doesn't work, and it seems like Im completely screwed. Any tips?

Good practice would be to ping the owner of the base and ask them to reupload it if they can so you can visit. We have hundreds of bases in our hub system but No Man's Sky will show in-game only a dozen or so of the most recently uploaded ones.

Cobalt (15k), Sulphurine (15k), and some plants (nip nip, venom urchin) form the backbone of this base overlooking a crashed freighter. Plans to reclaim freighter rooms in the immediate future have been sidetracked by the erection of a sentinel combat hide; fire at the enemy from the safety of a shelter (with panic room shutters and a roof that overhangs the balconies). Stop by for a quick harvest and a good chance of viewing the planet's behemoth Mantid Fauna.

**Welcome Travellers!**

The long awaited time has come after several months of not just planning, but also dealing with setbacks that included health issues for multiple team members, as well as technical issues with the game and ODS (Online Discovery Services) not playing nice -- which took a long time and effort to troubleshoot and narrow down. We want to thank our community for your patience and support through all of this. Especially those from the Atlas Emissary team who've been heavily involved behind the scenes, testing base uploads across platforms and analyzing all the data, which concluded in some fixes we were able to address on our end, and also in documenting bug reports we can present to HG. We also want to express our gratitude to the early settlers who started building unique bases showing off their skill and ingenuity in preparation for the Hub opening.

📜 Mission Statement

NMSCord Hub is founded with the goal of being a casual and welcoming place where all players from our NMS community can meet and share in different ways, as we do in our Discord server. Players belonging to other in-game civilizations are all welcome. Our Hub has no organized political structure, no alliances, militias, forced censuses, roleplaying or required play times. It fosters a relaxed atmosphere with no prerequisites other than having access to the game. All players are welcome to visit and build. Occasionally we may announce in-game events but the idea is that players will suggest and organize them as a communal effort.

• Recommended Network Settings:

1. Disable PvP, set to No One.
2. Base editing options, change to other options aside from Anyone.
   Run !Faq-Multiplayer for more details.

• Building Guideline: Please do not build at or within 2,000u around anyone else's base. It's not just the base computers that should be 2,000u away, the whole base needs to be at least 2,000u away from other bases. Including the edge limits of the bases. If in doubt, please ask for clarification.

Since ODS may not show everyone's bases, when you find a location where you'd like to build your base, please run the !Base command to confirm there are no bases in that location (⚠️ Permadeath and Survival modes have shared locations). Trust us, building over each other's bases can happen and it could cause undesirable bugs.
Example:
!Base Planet: Distira GameMode: Normal Coords: +23.77, +147.49

• Upload & Log: Once your base has been built and uploaded to HG via your base computer, record your base using our !Base command to have it automatically included in the NMSCord Hub maps.

• See Pins in #998315852841619620 or run !BaseHelp in that thread or in #bot-spam for instructions.

Disclaimer

While these are guidelines we'd like everyone to follow, there is no way to enforce them other than asking you to use the tools at your disposal -- including Hello Games' Zendesk Requests system for bugs and suggestions, disabling base editing and PvP to other players in your Network Options, and reporting bases in-game via your Quick Menu. Any issues that arise due to the nature of the game's mechanics and Multiplayer network limitations will need to be sorted out civilly, taking our #server-rules into consideration, and with the aforementioned tools.
