I think you can also buy it from some galactic trade terminals

Radiant Shards can easily be mined on any dissonant world, you can locate them with your analysis visor

look for Gek systems, geks prefer haulers and shuttle types, so you are more likely to find said types there (if i remember correctly)

It's the one ship I've not owned. Firstly, I like symmetrical ships. Lots of explorers are asymmetrical. Also, I fly in third person, so the often high-sided wings make it hard to see. But their maneuverability and jump range make them awesome. Any ship, like any multi-tool, once fully upgraded, is totally OP in this game. So, use what brings you joy and damn all the opinions. Just my......opinion.

Haha to be honest, I don't use the explorers or shuttle, once you get ||living ships or sentinel ships|| then it becomes a breeze. ||Sentinel|| ships can have high jump potential as their base and use less fuel when you get them, so I havent actually looked into anything else XD

The fighters and haulers i use, but way less now since the other 2 can multirole really easily

Lookswise, I love a gull-wing fan-engine hauler. Was my main ride until the Sentinels came out. Now, with a few mods, I fly corvettes. Just gets the job done, and they're all different.

I only warp with my freighter. Avoids those pesky freighter rescue missions.

Proud of that one, also functionally useless. 6 flights of stairs...at my age. So I have a small corvette. Gets the job done. Not too big. (No stairs).

then sell the new ship

you wont get your money back, but it def works if you have too many

i might even say strip the ship till its the bare minimum, then exchange that

I do have a mod that allows me to buy functionally endless upgrades from the same vendor for the same cost as normal (just removing the tedium of saving and reloading at a vendor), but that might not feel right just being a funnel for that lol

ah, you can get better pieces by going to various planets with the Salvagable Scrap listing, then using your analysis visor to find yellow wifi-looking things, then dig those up and they should drop from 1-3 pieces of a corvette

The Optical Drill is a technology blueprint

you can only install multiple of the same type of Upgrade Module (up to 3 per type), which give general improvements to the tech they're related to

mining beam upgrade modules do not improve mining yield
