Probing the brain did not reveal a monolith as expected, instead it flagged a dissonant ship in another solar system entirely.

I use my Corvette for most purposes. My freighter serves as a main base and interstellar ship and my Corvette lets me plop it down as a temporary home while I mine/explore planets. Tho I've reached a point where I don't know what I'm looking for anymore. Lol

My Corvette is nice and functional. It's not designed to be fast. It handles like a hauler, but those shields can take a beating, and good weapons on it too.

My phase beams do 17k per tick. Nasty work really.

At least most of the parts make up for any weakness.

I've seen some handle real well, similar to fighters. I think it depends on what style of parts you use. I only ever made the one with a purpose in mind, so I might just be blowing smoke, but it is possible to get a fast one with the right setup.

They can do rather well, and what upgrades go on them (besides parts) will affect it a lot.
My abandoned one is lower on damage but pretty good maneuverability and warp range.
Don't really need a lot of damage with what little combat happens in that mode.

My Corvette interior has a cafe, a med bay, quarters for the doc and the cook, a refiner room, a meeting room, captains room, and a cozy fireplace. 2 refiners, 8 plant spaces, a mission radar, a nutrition module, and all 10 storage boxes. It hardly has a hyperdrive though. My freighter can warp over 5k ly with great fuel efficiency. Opens up space for additional tech at lower cost, the trade off is I need to be in my freighter to warp any real distance.

How to Expand the Base Boundary

1. Open the Build Menu near the Base Computer and select a base part. Make sure you edit the correct base on the part's info panel.
2. Walk away from the Base Computer until the Build Menu changes visually (±300u). Turn on/off build mode to keep checking as you go.
3. Walk back until the menu changes back to the Build Menu (inside base boundary).
4. Aiming towards your goal, place a 'building' part in front of you (expands ±50u). Decorations may not work to expand.
5. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 until you reach your goal, or reached maximal distance.

Note: Save/Reload within the base boundary, if expansion no longer works.
* Max expansion is ±1000u away from your Base Computer in any direction.

Those orange balls are called Runaway Mould. They just items find on the planets. People call it a farm, because you can save/reload and they back in previous spot, hence the farm.

You can then out stack of it to refinery for nanites.

9999 mould = 2k nanites. Takes 20min.

How many galaxies are there in No Man's Sky?

There are 256 galaxies in No Man's Sky.

Euclid is labeled as Galaxy #0 in game files, but often referred to as Galaxy #1 by the community.
Odyalutai is #255 in game files, referred to as #256 by the community.

Players may only access galaxy 255 (Odyalutai) if they join the game of someone, or visit a base in galaxy 255, or save edit to get there.

Players who join the game of someone in galaxy 256 (or any other number outside the range 0-255) will instead see Odyalutai; with stars and planets in identical positions but core colour, procgen names and tech seeds shuffled.

What happens if you warp through the core of galaxy 255?

You return to Euclid, the starting galaxy for all game modes except some expeditions.

I've heard about a galaxy 257 called Yilsrussimil; does it exist?

It's possible to use a save editor to reposition yourself into galaxy 257. However, the galaxy name will be shown as Euclid, Odyalutai, or Yilsrussimil, depending upon where you see it shown in the game. Further, players in Odyalutai using the same coordinates show up in your system, demonstrating it's more of a glitch in the game than a true place; after saving and reloading, you will be shown in Odyalutai, and unable to see the Yilsrussimil name henceforth without using the save editor again. So, galaxy 257 does not exist; if it's anything, it's a display artifact when using the save editor.

What about negative numbered galaxies?
No Man's Sky can generate galaxy names for any number you put into the save file (outside the range 0-255), but you will be in Odyalutai (galaxy 255).

How many regions are in each galaxy, and how many systems per region?

There are approximately 4.27 billion regions per galaxy (4095x4095x255), with regions possibly having as few as 122 star systems and as many as 600+.

What types of galaxies are there, and how do they differ?

Lush, Empty, Normal and Harsh; the galaxy type affects the distribution of planet biomes in yellow systems, and probability of extreme survival planets.
