there is a sentinel freighter which comes in and you fight it at 5 star sentinel alert level while in space. it cannot be claimed, only destroyed. the same design can be found on civilian capital freighters, however.

This normally drops you on the deployable teleporter pad, but the Atlas is bright enough to redirect you inside

Where your landing bay is in the corvette, there is a button to one side to open and a button to "teleport" when in range of places that link to it. (Only enabled when in such a place, like next to an Atlas interface, and some terrains I've found.)

You didn't sound terribly worried about it, but perhaps this bit of maths might help you put things into perspective. A full set of multitool scanner upgrade (S/X class) plus good buff food is enough to cap you at 4 billion units just by scanning a SINGLE star system completely. Or by casually scanning just the first 6 animals you see on 20 different worlds.

You can't run out of money from settlements, it is just their debt that keeps increasing. Try to upgrade productive buildings first, and when given options to build, build productive buildings. Happiness can wait (up to a certain extent). As soon as your income is positive, then you can turn to happiness too (but productivity will reduce debt faster). As you go, you can also upgrade all buildings to S-class eventually, but I find doing all C-class to B-class first etc. may be a little faster path. Anyone else think "each to S-class" works better? Until positive income, I lean on upgrading productivity first even if it contradicts the "breadth-first" approach.

If you looking for bulkheads you get them from derelict freighters or by attacking the cargo pods of random freighters i got a few i can give ya now if you already got the stuff you go into the middle console on your freighter and look for the upgrade control and just add them
