While it may sound a bit silly at first it’s actually better in the long run to purchase frigates (not including Living Frigates) at C class with less than 4 expeditions

You’ll end up having a S class with superior stats.

(Really only matters if you actually want to min max to the max lol)

You can view your ships boost or unboosted speed by looking in the ships cockpit tho this is entirely redundant considering 800u is the max speed in atmosphere that will actually influence your speed everything above ~800 u/s is getting you the same speed.

build a base at a harmonic camp, ping ships from harmonic camp. There is only 1 sentinel design per dissonant system. Each crash site has its own class and SC layout slot, so only way to find a better Class/ sc slot layout is to find another crash site

How many crashed sentinel ships are on one planet? I’m trying to find good SC slots for one. I’ve salvaged and marked 15 unique ships. Now I keep getting sent to the same ships. Did I find all of them?

It is. But there are several different locations for the same ship with different SC slots and class.

The SC slots are random.

But if you collect it from the same location, the SC slots will always be the same.

I did. I drop base computers on all of them. Then when I find one with good slot, I go to that location and change the name to something like black sentinel 3+1.

This is the first time I didn’t find one I like. I was reloading every time it sent me to an old location. That worked until I had found 15. After that, I got old sites 10 times in a row and gave up.

That’s what I’m using. I’ve tried using the camp multiple times. It reveals the same site over and over.

Yes. I claim it, fly to the space station and check and level it to a class to check the slots. If it’s bad, I reload in the space station to get my nanites back and scrap it.

When it sends you back to the same site, the ship respawns with the same SC slots, but you don’t have to repair it. You can just take it. If you need credits, that’s a good thing I guess. I don’t so it’s a waste of time to collect it. I reload.

I believe that the same SC slots open up each time you upgrade, so you kinda guess if its gonna have good sc slots or not. The only totally random sc slots on interceptors will be ones that are S class

Each site has different slots. You will sometimes get the same slots at different sites, but I think that’s just random.

I don’t think it makes that much difference. You can make your frigate missions more efficient, but they don’t use that many resources or give you much back anyway.

That said, you can search YouTube if you want for the location of one with better slots.

There are more haulers in gek systems

Ship names are proc gen. So name does not mean much. Either find it by luck. By using internet or hunt down ship that have desired parts and build it yourself.

U can also ask in trade channel if someone has desired ship parts.

I think there's only one sentinel ship type per system? So since you found the other sentinel ship you might have the wrong galaxy or glyphs! It's in Eissentam

I believe you're in Euclid, the default galaxy (not system). If you haven't finished the main quests yet you won't be able to travel to other galaxies. The glyphs are for the galaxy Eissentam :)

If you go back to the same crash site, the SC slots will be the same no matter how much time has passed. There are multiple crash sites for the same ship though. The SC slots are random for each. I spent about 2-3 hours last night going from site to site and upgrading each one at the space station until I found one with a 3+1 layout.

In relation to the conversation in help, @final plume A suggestion, the discord or reddit for the coordinates exchange would likely give you a larger range of results. The website is underdeveloped and rarely updated and used by wider hunters.

You would need to search by parts name if using discord or reddit, tho I believe the discord would have those parts name pinned if unfamiliar.

Guys find living ships?

To get one you need to initiate the starbirth questline, to do this you need to activate a void egg (purchase from the quicksilver vendor at the anomaly) by pulsing with a void egg in your inventory, doing so will result in a random encounter with a LS, interacting with that LS will initiate the quest, continue the lengthy quest and you’ll be lead to a crash site.

If you want to farm specific sites for an LS you need to have starbirth active to the point a living ship can be located, from there resetting the quest will result in a crash site changing to a LS.

most occasions if you go specifically to a crash site uploaded by a user and reset there the ship will change to a Ls.

Suggested to use this method when you use your second void egg and beyond.

They rarely appear at space stations and trade buildings instead of the round exotic ship you find in most systems

However only 1/25 systems will spawn a squid and the other 24/25 will spawn ball exotics

I'm in an outlaw system looking for solar ship components. I brought a pile of maps and have been hitting crash sites, but all them have had the same design at them. Bad luck, or is that the way it works?

I have no evidence to what I say next, except my own very limited experience so take it with a pinch of salt.

There are 21 ship designs in a system, but when it comes to crashed variants, I dont think there are crash sites for all 21 variants. In my limited experience, I tend to find 5 maybe 6 designs in a system.

So to answer your question, I think it is just the way it works. On the other side, solar ships are relatively cheap, even at S Class so might be worth buying from traders at trade outposts and scrapping them

So here's the thing: I'm trying to match the chrome trim on the Raven nose with the metallic paint in the ship builder, and I can't tell if it's a better match to white or grey.

I think grey is the better match, but I also know that colors change instantly as soon as you leave the character creator, it's the one thing that's consistent in all the games I've ever played.

You don’t have to fix it all the way, just do the launch thrusters and pulse drive. Then fly your working spaceship to a station, switch to the wreck, and scrap it.

That ship in particular, no interact with it by accepting the transmission to initiate the quest “under a rebal star”

If you want ships like that they are solar ships, you can head to outlaw systems if you want systems with higher model count of solars.

Also ships are cheapier in outlaw systems. Buy any s class you see for 2× profit. (And slots).

You’ll need some of each to do the missions, or do you mean what ship design do people like?

They will level up as you send them on missions so even a cheap c-class can become a powerhouse, although they don’t iirc change types. So a support ship will tend to get fuel efficiency bonuses and maybe minor increases to the mission stats, but it won’t turn into a trade or combat frigate.

It is rng in regards to the colour, parts, supercharged slots and class

Hey Red just looking to update some information regarding this pin, as some of it outdated as of now, happy to provide results from testing if required to update.

The method pinned is still working tho recent testing across multiple platforms and players, does confirm ships traded regardless of type (excluding Fabricated) will not despawn on exchange/swap and will not change seed, the note at the beginning of the pin is invalid.

The old note at the bottom would then still be valid as a reroll on exchange will still occur, this is excluding LS and Exotics in regard to class.

Suggest adding a new note stating fabricated ships are unable to be traded as they will just revert to a standard ship of the same type, this includes the iron vulture as that is fabricated even after claimed from the QS vendor.

Please let me know if you need anything further.

Yes, if you have a look just above your message, it’s replying to the method.

When you trade a ship tho only the physical model will trade, class (unless exotic and LS) will reroll along with tech which doesn’t transfer.

Bk got it, 5.29 I noticed desync no longer occurred when a ship was exchanged with another player present, from then till now I have been testing as much as I can and with the help of other players like @zenith bolt to confirm their end.

A side note, this same update changed reskinning I think it would be in relation to the first note “Fixed an issue which caused ship inventories to become merged.” Tho I am still testing various methods to reskin but so far it seems to no longer work, you may get another ping from me about that one haha.

Class and tech aren’t preserved, this rerolls (living ships and exotics won’t reroll class as they are set as S) Model will remain the same now.

It’s not really a choice set by the devs, just how the game stores that data. Ship trading really is just trading the physical model.

How to Trade a Starship

-# As of Update 5.29 (<t:1733917364:D>), it's been confirmed that this is a viable option again for all ships, except fabricated ships.

Traded ships have mods and number of slots reset to default settings, and any cargo is lost. Traded ships also get class and stats re-rolled -- except Exotics and Living Ships, which only get stats re-rolled as those are always (S) class.

1. ❗IMPORTANT: Save to create a Restore Point prior to the trade.
2. Be in the same multiplayer group with your friend.
3. Go to a Space Station, Trading Outpost, or Planetary Archive -- anywhere that has NPC ship landing bays.
4. Make your friend stand in front of your ship, the one you're trading, so they can quickly interact with the NPC as soon as it teleports to your ship.
5. Exchange your ship with an NPC.
6. Immediately ask your friend to interact with the NPC to exchange or claim the traded ship for free.
7. Disable multiplayer in settings and Leave Group.
8. Make your friend Save to create a Restore Point.
9. Reload your individual Restore Points:

• Your Restore Point should be before the trade so that you can retain your ship.
• Friend's Restore Point should be after the trade & disabling multiplayer so that they can retain their ship.
