I don't know for sure but I think that sentinel scans only have a chance to happen when you're actually carrying contraband. But if you're smart you can cut them off entirely...you can teleport from pirate station to a base and then from base teleport to civilized station and sentinels never get a chance to scan you. Or you can transfer your contraband to your freighter, travel to civilized station and take the contraband out of your freighter. Sentinels never have chance to scan you.

freighters can also give you rewards via frigate expeditions, and also if maxed can get around 5k ly warp range

theres like different types of galaxies but honestly unless you explore a lot it doesnt matter that much

Some biomes are more common in some galaxies, e.g. Lush galaxies like Eissentam (10th) have more lush biome planets, but biome probability changes only in regards to yellow systems

My belief is that some junior dev messed up the counting between 0-255 and 1-256 and it caused the cycle to skip 256, but they never fixed it

Not for naturally spawning ships, but if you build a custom ship at the ship fabricator you can choose the colors

As the living tech, I was told the Anomaly detector will drop an anomaly that is living ship tech.

Also via Organic Frigate, send them on frigate expedition and they will bring both living ship techs and space augmentation

They can show up pretty much anywhere. Not dependent on system type or anything.

But when looking for salvage scrap, ancient bones, curious deposits or other lootable sources like that small moons are usually your best bet
