Sorry for the confusion: if you are playing, say, on normal and someone else is playing on a lighter setting or creative -- you "share" the same servers.
But PD players have their own corner, so-to-speak. If you are on PD, you only see other PD players online, including the Anomaly

After building about 50+ ships, 100 limit aside....it's so frustrating when half of the thrusters don't even work, putting more guns makes all but 2 turrets usable, in some cases parts override/remove the other weapons completely.
