The base part is called sphere creator and its blueprint can be unlocked at construction terminal at the space anomaly

Normally it's much smaller but I used a glitch to change it's size and make it flat

Different places (e.g. planetary buildings, space stations) will have interactible object looking like glowing cubes, interacting with one gives you navigational data

You can also find antenna objects next to point of interest on planets, waypoint. Interacting with it will also give navigational data

Sometimes they can also be bought at trade terminals

All these are derived from a seed value and intertwined, can't reverse engineer that info on the fly

So what they did was using a similar framework they had for player customisation: pick head A, pick torso B, arms J. Etc

Think of a skyscraper

You get 10 meters close to it, it loads with high detail

You get 400 meters away from it, it's still rendering, but in a lower quality, almost a tall square with no textures pretty much

definitely follow the objectives for a small bit of time, but after a while you're free to take a break from the story, do your own thing, and come back when you want

Any. You get sharded glass or whatever it's called and they turn into tech that you can sell for 300-400 nanites per pop. I usually jump in my minotaur and pew pew them when i need nanites. also dont forget to upload discoveries.
