they are found on planets with verdant climates but they are incredibly hard to get because they fly so high up. the other hard part is getting a big one to my knowledge mine is as big as the can get (80m) but i had to use egg sequencing until it wouldnt let me make it any bigger no matter what i did

But those don't have the "bone worm" component tied to their list of available customization

Rideable flying fish or something, slow flying speed, very smooth, no shaking when scanning , adoptable, not in the field of vision when riding. Flies at a height where you can't be attacked. Not too high, not too low. Ingenious for relaxed scanning of planetary surfaces.

The high-flying creatures can't be adopted, so there is no use trying

Low flying ones like flying beetles and other weird ones can be adopted, you just have to wait for them to get close to the ground

Note that you can only interact with fauna while standing on the ground, you cannot interact with fauna while airborne

You can only get them as companions by getting their eggs from other players

A worm was made available from a previous expedition, which means they're more polished than the "flying lizards" aka big birds/dragons/"""""griffins"""""

The Flying Lizards never land, so you can only really interact with them upon summoning to ride them, if you don't ride them then they usually fly too far away and despawn

Flying worms never land either, but they stay around you and circle your position if not made larger than intended

They either got it through save editing, or another player who save edited gave them a companion egg of it. You could ask for a companion egg of one but know that they aren't as fully functional as other companions (they can't land or do anything but fly forward and turn a little)

I've decided to take up egg gene resequencing recently. I've been wanting to just sorta throw in different elements at different animals to see what happens

So far, I know you can grow and shrink the scale of the creature if you desire specific sizes

Helpfulness can be increased or decreased if you want a playful (or feral) creature.

Concepts like Body Structure and Dye Injection still elude me, though.

I assume the elements used in Body Structure depend on how different or what features get added/omitted to the offspring's body? Stuff like extra limbs, if the creature will walk upright or not, or other potential body parts available for their creature type.

Dye Injection, I'm assuming elements used determine what color the offspring will be.

And as far as dosage goes: its the main pivotal factor for the intensity/subtlety of how each factor of the offspring is affected? So if dosages get high for color, the color gets more vibrant while low dosage makes the colors more dull. For body structure, i'd assume high dosage means a higher chance for body structure altercations with a low dose being less likely to or give fewer body changes?

Of course, feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all the resequencing

Any planet with life has the chance of having them, they aren't a very common type of creature at all though

The two I showed there include glyph coordinates to the planets they can be found on, the former is in a purple system though I believe

Both work quite differently, the worms are fast and consistent and great for simply traversing a planet a bit faster than exocraft, the bird is a bit crazy fast and acts more like you're riding a missile lol and may clip into the ground on console due to going faster than the terrain lol, but it looks cool!

The bigger the worms are, the faster they are and the higher they fly but the more of an open area is needed to summon them and jumping off of them will take longer too

You probably have a full inventory of ships, which would be 12 ships

You can place some of them into your Starship Archive which can be accessed from your freighter's fleet control terminal, that can store 18 ships but it will not store their cargo

I heard this on a YouTube video but the guy said that the more animals you scan on a planet, the higher spawn rate the rarer ones have, until you've scanned every animal on that planet

They do and they can be obtained by player trading or a save editor if you do want one.

Hopefully they can become tameable in the future, just their creature behaviour stopping that

Yea those are myths because that would mean it would be very easy to find cave fauna. The problem with cave fauna is spawn locations. Cave fauna only spawns in caves if you are also in a cave. And most caves are horribly generated to the point where most caves can't spawn any fauna as there are large swatches of caves that are actually not the cave biome at all

And so even tho it is underground no fauna can spawn in it

Yep like my skeleton creature I found its head is small in the discorvery tab but it's got a fat head like pet even in the wild
