omg. I entered a system and got into a pirate freighter battle. Beat the freighter. When I went to speak to one of the frigates to check their class, one of my frigates called to talk about damage and recall, and it bugged my game. So i reloaded, no battle. lol. so sad.

You are in the terminal, right? If so, you finish putting your stuff that you want into it (see pinned messages in #nms-expedition for what to bring), then you initialize expedition, you’ll load up in the world, and you’ll find your ship, you can gather materials along the way as well as scan the area to give you what you need & some units to make warp fuel, you warp once, you unlock the anomaly, and you can collect the materials you started with, as well as copy ship & multi-tool for nanites, it’s very well explained in game already

My requirements for freighter comes down to “do I like how it looks” and that’s it
