I never tried to dive in deep ocean without the membrane but life support drains quite fast even with it...I have mad upgrades to the point my life support just refuses to drop at all on the surface or when exploring other planets...does it drain even faster if you don't have the membrane? I just assumed the mebrane is broken and doesn't work.
