I've finished this little side project! A Fishing-Trashman, adventurer type of Corvette! Interior still awaits for decorations, but outside is basically done. Feels good to roleplay the smuggler, who is "just fishing" 😉 Built in normal mode, no mods, just some glitchbuilding involved.

I decided to name it Star Chaser MK-I

After much experimentation, I've come to a simple, functional, elegant design that I'll likely repeat across saves (with minor variations depending on module availability). The interior is 2 habs long with 1 hab and 1 half-hab on each side, all on the same level to avoid the hassle of ladders. Small enough to park easily, and landing bays conveniently close to the cockpit.

More parts is always good, but tbh I've only used two of them so far, and barely at that. If you want to cosplay an Edgelord Vampire Spaceman, they're great tho I guess.

What I want are more parts that follow the same profiles so the angles line up. That and some flat pieces like the Vesper Diffuser that you can run along the length of your ship in stead of ramp-shaped like the Diffuser

I am gonna try a Mecha build for my next one, I think. But It is not gonna be just hundreds of little colored boxes and flat panels all scaled and assembled in Blender. If he could make that with 1/10th the number of parts, I'd be a little impressed, even if the shape was less accurate.

Yeah Blender is cool and all, but I kinda sorta consider it "cheating." You can make anything that way after all
I'm more impressed in some ways when people are forced to work within the limitations of the in-game builder

I don't mind a tiny bit of Blender tweaking. I use it myself (well, the basebuilding app which acts similarly). But there is a difference between changing the angle or position of a few parts out fo 60-100, and using it to turn 1000 flat panels into polygon faces

🙂 It kind of feels like some futuristic battle hardened Thunderbird 2 crossed with a warship.
Particularly like the way the cockpit is integrated, and how smooth and sleek the fore section is on top, my ship looks I ran a cheese grater over it, so really keen on that. Good job

This is now what I cinsider too large a part for NMS. To spawn it takes a freightor to force it in... its huge and buggy 🤣

updated the build a little since the initial version frankly did not have enough effort put into it. as a bonus, due to the projector now being perfectly centered and behind the ship, i am now able to do The Perspective (as shown in screenshot no. 3)
