Did you try uploading the log file to a website (I've used it twice before but I've forgotten it's name) that helps explain what caused the crash?

It'd be great for more specific help of course but if nobody can help you rn then maybe it'll be of use to look up something like "OBS log file analysis" or something (seriously completely forgot what the website was called or how I found it, I just remember an image of the site in my head lol).

If there's not a crash file that's gonna suck but yeah maybe you can find something either by reading the log file yourself or using a tool (idk if will work with just a regular log file) to help decipher it.

What does your resource monitor show?

If you are looking for maximum performance from your computer you should look into Smart Game Booster. It's a free but for the pro version if you buy it on Steam it's a lifetime one off purchase. Where as buying it from the website it is a yearly subscription.

I have used this for a couple of years now and it works a treat and I have a 9600k OC to 4.0 GHz and 32GB RAM. If I don't use Smart Game Booster then my PC can be at times slow while gaming. Plus you can manually disable any processes which are running from any programs you may have installed that Smart Game Booster doesn't detect.

Have you made the bot a mod?

From memory I had this issue once. with the default install aka installing to C drive.

So best bet is to backup your settings or the folder to somewhere else.

Download and install IOBit Uninstaller.

Run it to uninstall SE.Live. . It will give you the option to keep your settings or delete everything. So you can decide what you want to do here. I would try it with keeping your settings. Reboot and install SE.LIve and select the option to install OBS as well.

Still no dice? Then run IOBit Uninstaller again and select the option to delete all settings.

Personally I use Portable OBS and SE together on a separate hard drive inside my computer so that if Windows falls over then all my settings and everything isn't lost as it would take me a week or more to rebuild it to how I have mine setup as all my scenes are fully customised with so many things.

Let me know how you go.

Try what the Bot says and see if that fixes the issue first?

If it doesn't? Download, install and run DDU but make sure you have the Nvidia driver stored on your PC. Once DDU has finished reboot and then install the driver again.

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Did that, after I did that and readded the account name it still doesn't do anything when i send the test message, I first tried a command in my chat and it responded with StreamElements instead of the Custom Bot Name, then I clicked save again in the activity feed, tried the same command and nothing is getting sent at all, both StreamElements and my Custom Bot Name Account are modded

I think I may have just found the issue, the account with the bot name didn't have a phone number verified but since I already have mine added on my main I can't use it twice, I feel kinda dumb now LUL

Hey, all my overlays have the alertbox in them. The alert that isn’t working is the “Follower Alert”. The emulate functions work on the website, but when live only the bits, subs, and donos work. Any recent followers do not show up on the activity feed on OBS.

We are able to see the follow alerts for Twitch and Youtube in the overlays for those accounts and they look to be setup properly. To clarify are your overlay properties set to the correct resolution as noted here? :

I installed SE Live 22.3.5.805 on OBS 27.2.4 and I don't have my stream information dock anymore, the one that lets you update the title and go live notification for the stream. I know I've had this issue in the past. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling SE live/OBS but that didn't seem to fix it this time. I think I've had this issue in the past, and if I remember right, it was because the version of OBS was too new for SE.Live to work properly. So is this the same issue? Just a bug between the current version of OBS and SE.Live?

I'm on a mac and for some reason the file I downloaded from https://streamelements.com/selive isn't updated to 27.2.4. (it's still at 27.2.2) I do however have obs installed and it's at 27.2.4.   1. Restart OBS
  2. Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
  3. Stop your stream/recording.
  4. Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

So idk if anyone else is having problems with the media request but these are the problems I am having.

The auto play will not auto play. The next video will queue up and it’ll just sit there.

Any settings I try to save in the SELIVE doesn’t save I have to go in the browser for it to work.

If I close out of seLive it will still play regardless of being on screen.

Sooo - For some reason SE Overlay editor on the website doesnt want to save changes. I click save and it just says "saving" and nothing happens from there. Kind of annoyed since yesterday i spent 3 hours on changing overlays and it just refused to save. So trying to do the same thing today and its still refusing to save at certain points. It's like something is blocking the save when I edit certain parts of the overlay.

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

I'm having some trouble with the setup for SE.Pay. while setting up I was told I only needed a bank account on one of the specified countries, which I do. but I was not told I would need a Social Security number from said country to make it work. but since most of SE.Pay is already set up it is now holding onto money which I cannot access. Other day i changed the name of it and worked fine, next day was doing some timmers and tested it but nothing happen. It appears the bot wont work unless its name is steamelements i have told bot to leave channel and rejoined.

I'm getting more and more frustrated with SE live. Is there anyone here that can have a look at my log files?
My stream crashed 4 times today and I am getting really fed up, thinking to switch to vanilla OBS. It's crashing twice per stream on average (3h time) and is costing me a lot of viewers..
However I have a ton of stuff set up that would require a lot of work to port, so I want to see if there is an easier fix first
At certain times OBS will just freeze and not react, stream dies and I have to kill and restart it

For some reason when I go to change my bot name, in the activity panel of OBS (SE.Live), once I change it to the desired Bot name, the bot stops working. The test message will not work. I have tried removing the bot from my channel and readding it, restarting OBS, signing out of the custom bot account and back in, and my SE.Live is up to date. Thank you!

Hey guys, trying to work out an odd issue.
I've recently upgraded my pc to a 3080TI, 12900K, 32GB Ram

I'm trying to stream on the CPU and record with the GPU at the same time. Gameplay wise, everything is usually fine and i never notice a problem.

But i'm occasionally seeing an encoder overloaded message and if i have recording active, the stream seems to get little stutters?

I'm not really sure what's going on.

Hoping maybe someone can point something out to me because i don't get any dropped frames. It's 0%, i have a 100 up and 1000 down connection. And the PC should easily be able to handle this stuff

Only thing is, the ability to stream on a slower setting is why i chose the CPU in the first place. The efficiency cores do the stream while the other half does gaming.

It was a big advertisement of the cpu for it being able to stream easily even on "Slow"

Other people with the same setup don't have this issue at all which is why I'm feeling pretty lost :/

The hardware should definitely be able to manage it easily

Sure thing. I know that running all that at once can even cause issues on high end systems if one thing is out of place, so you might have to pick through settings to find the culprit

Hello! I understand that the OBS browser source is chromium based and as such no longer supports flash, however, flash files are still useful offline, and I'm wondering if there's any alternative way to add swf files as sources to OBS. Any ideas?

I'm not aware of a flash player that's anywhere near up to date and not-vulnerable. It's probably possible, if you know C/C++ it may not be hard, but I have no idea.

Hello everyone. I haven't used obs for a long time (I use the one with the plugin, directly downloaded from streamelements web), a couple seconds after I open it it crashes, I looked the logs and found this:

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

When I go to control panel.. like the usual stuff to do when you uninstall a program, it opens up the Uninstall.exe, when I click next it says "Checking for locked files..." and immediatelly closes.

I streamed for about 2 hours today and got no crashes. My assumption is the following: There was a bug in move transition where it would crash OBS when used as show/hide transition. So I turned off the one thing where I used that as both when getting a follow. It's anecdotal for now, but I will keep an eye on that over the next 2 streams this week. Also commented on the OBS forum post, so will see what Exeldro thinks

So I have a slight problem. The streamelements was working just fine for quite awhile and then I had to turn a timer off for the bot as it was turned on by accident when setting up a sponsor. After I went back and turned the bot timer back on everything broke. Not just the timer. Literally everything. None of my commands work. Don't know what to do to fix this. Also it was working when I added said timer as I found out because I accident leaked my sponsor by accident during a stream because of it. Please ping if you have any suggestions.

Hey! I found a bug with the Activity Feed in SE.Live and the Dashboard website where the react components re-render and paint so fast even while idling that it uses 15% cpu, which would show up as high cpu usage for OBS as a browser source. The same thing happens in Edge so I don't think it is my installation of OBS causing the issue. I've been seeing this issue for several months as well, and it doesn't show up browsing some other parts of the website that don't necessarily need/use websockets. Who should I talk to so we can get this figured out maybe? I've found a workaround for my own setup but its super clunky. I've noticed a few other users in this discord have had similar issues with the Activity Feed in SE.Live or trying to use it in vanilla OBS as a custom dock

Hey there. I currently have a problem when using SE.Live inside OBS on an user account with restricted rights (non-admin). I can reproduce this error via system restore points. OBS itself is running without issues on a normal user account. In the moment that I install SE.Live, I can't use this user account anymore. I always get the Windows Error 0xc00000022 when I try to start Applications like OBS, Corsair iCue or some other tools. Is this a know bug or is SE.Live just not compatible with restricted accounts?

Hey there so for some odd reason my streams not starting on YouTube, it starts in OBS But it just stops from their as if streamelements is blocking it

Sorry if this is technically in the wrong thread type, but I'm having a very annoying issue right now. I'm trying to upload custom alert animations into my overlays gallery for the main 6 event types (raid, host, donation, cheer, follower, and subscriber) and for some odd reason, my alerts for my cheers and sibscribers arent working. All the files are well below 30mb (below 530 KB even)

I got to the advanced settings for the alert box widget and select one of the two (cheers or subscriber) and click the change video option. Ive tried reuploading the videos and even re-exporting them through adobe media encoder, and I run into the same issue where it shows the correct uploaded image in the corner to the left, but when I emulate one of the two events, it plays the default StreamElements video for the alert type.

Can someone help me figure out what's going wrong?

You know how once you click to add the alert box and it shows the previews of the video on the left, next to where it shows "set image" and "change video" on the right? It shows my amimation correctly there; but when I emulate it, it shows the default videos provided by SE.

I havent added the weblink into XSplit yet to see if it shows up correctly, as I wanted to make sure they work properly in SE before i add them to my setup

Once I get home I'll try it again and set the variations like you guys suggested and see if it helps get things in the right direction

Haha this is rather embarrassing now, but it's literally just as @dawn root suggested, it was the variations that kept getting cycled through in the previews that was making me think something was wrong 😅

BUT there is also still a concern that I do have as far as the alert box and my animations go:

As I click to set the alert box, it shows up, and in the position, size and style menu, it shows set with the width at 733 and height at 617 (default size)
My alerts vary very slightly in size, but theyre around 514px-ish for width, and 122-123px tall. If i resize the alert box to the dimensions of my alert animations, it makes the box the right size, but my animation gets scaled down drastically. That's if i type in the specific dimensions.

It does still do a similar thing if I grab the sides and drag them in; but depending how far in, clipping of the animation occurs. I'm not sure if that specifically is related to my animations, but it's something i am noticing. Is there any way to get the box size accurate and not have my animation get scaled down?

Just a quick update to my mentioned problem above: the problem is fixed now and everything works like a charme. The error occured cause I had installed OBS-Studio from Useraccount "A" and SE.Live later from Useraccount "B". All my tests show, that this problem is reproducable when OBS Studio and SE.Live are installed from different user accounts. Because I'm not sure if this is an expected behaviour I'll also send a message to the SE support. cc / @dawn root

Hey everyone 🙂 Need some help with Audio buffering issue

so I figured out what causes the problem only I have no idea why. So the setup is my main pc is sending the picture via NDI tools. but it doesn not send sound. the sound is sent via a jack cable so it is directly connected and imported in the obs as a mic input. I listen to the sound via adding a sound output witch is a mix of the streaming pc's sounds and the gaming pc-s sounds. and the Sound item causes problems so every few seconds it buffers and I hear audio delay. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I do not think I have seen this here as I was looking. Since Elgato has updated their Stream Deck software to v5.3.1 and added their OBS Integration 2.0, I have noticed that some of the functionality from the SE.Live plugin has been removed. Is there any idea if this functionality (scene/source switching) will be returning to the SE.Live plugin or has this been effectively removed permanently?

I ask this after performing troubleshooting between OBS and Elgato that their source/scene switching functionality breaks completely and the only foreseeable resolution is to downgrade the Elgato software to get the SE.Live plugin to work again.

I have 1 browser source that i use for a just chatting scene.
It has a chat widget, webcam border, background, 4small png images, 3 text sources, and an alert box. My gpu gets overwhelmed and goes up to 99%. I use stuff from the clearview pack from NoD.
So my question is do i have to minimize resources in this 1 browser source?
I have a ryzen 1700, GeForce 3060, 16gb ran. Windows 10, game mode enabled, opened in administrator mode.
Also to Note, my CPU only goes up to 15-20 percent.

The last time I booted up SEOBS 3 windows/docks didn’t appear when they had the last time: chat window, activity feed, and stream info when I could edit the game, tags and so forth.

I’ve relieved in, rebooted, did most everything I could think of…no luck!

Any thoughts?

Docks > Stream Information is the one you're looking for, if it's not popping up on the list, try Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

This didn't work. I ended up rolling my drive back to yesterday when I know everything worked.
But I do want to update OBS. How can I do that without a repeat of this happening?
As I mentioned in a later comment, the actual Downloader from se.live wasn't working, it was saying it could not download the installer from SE and throwing error before installation. Thanks

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hey guys im having an issue with OBS Virtual cam, i dont see the 'Start Virtual Camera' button in the controls. I have also tried updating OBS in the Help tab however there is no 'check for updates' button in there either. Im unsure what to do as i need to use both for streaming 😦

I am seeing the same issue with all the media buttons on the stream deck but the other buttons show as online. I also know of a streamer seeing this issue as well. I have tried deleting the plug-in and reinstalling but this didn't remedy the issue

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible as shown in this GIF: https://imgur.com/a/2JhJD0S

Trying to figure out how to set multiple "videolike" alerts for facebook, but when I put the variations in, the "main" alert is the only one that's popping up. I feel like it's an easy thing to set up, and I'm missing something.
No matter what I've tried, my alerts are only showing that main, and I'm getting really frustrated

Hello. I started receiving a network error this week that has persisted for a few days. I am otherwise able to connect to streaming servers / use stream elements via browser without an issue.

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
  2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
  3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
  4. Start SE.Live
  5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

If you are attempting to stream to one streaming platform, but SE.Live is attempting to stream to another, please try the following:

Navigate to StreamElements menu, on top of OBS > Logout > Login

After you have logged back in navigate to File > Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Reconnect

I went to StreamElements in the menu and logged out. I was presented with connect options. I clicked on Twitch (same service used to connect in previous steps). I seem to be stuck on this screen after providing credentials.

I noticed in the SE.Pay fees chart there is "Charge-back fee: NONE - with advanced protection." For bank withdrawls and "Charge-back fees: $20, Limited protection" for Paypal. What I'm unfortunately confused with is the advanced and limited protection is that something I'd have to pay for is it already setup from the start?

Known issue guys! our devs are looking into it as we speak. In the meantime, a workaround we can offer is simply clicking on "cancel" the moment the bar starts loading, this will let you open OBS as usual. HYPERS

I had a similar issue and i actually let it update twice as i thought i might just have missed an additional update before but now i have two go live and SE support buttons... I uninstalled any duplicate versions it created but it still looks like this and i am worried it will crash my stream alter today.

If you don't have a cancel button, just say no to the UAC when it askes for admin permissions. This will stop the install. And allow you to use SE.Live again

I know the cancel things sometimes goes by too fast so if you cancel in the UAC(when it clears your screen and asks if it's okay to use admin permissions) Just say no.

I keep having a problem with my obs updating, opening, updating again, and repeating endlessly. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but now every time I reinstall it, i get an error saying it "cant find it". Any solutions?

Same here. Update, now three instances of SE Live in OBS and still get the update message. Update with Hotfix does not complete because it wants to close "Program" (unspecified). And now OBS does not even start.

For any multiple menu buttons of "Streamelements" please follow the following:

  1. Uninstall SE.Live
  2. Uninstall OBS Studio
  3. Restart PC
  4. Install OBS Studio
  5. Install SE.Live

If you do not touch anything else during the uninstall prompts, except the button "Next", all your profile data and scenes should be stored. Else if you are afraid of loosing them, make sure you do a backup!
If OBS for some reason doesn't open and you want to manually backup your files, open file explorer and paste this into the location bar on top: open file explorer -> %appdata%\obs-studio\basic -> copy the 2 folders there
