Hello! I am about to do my first YouTube live stream this week and I'm having an issue with the YouTube alerts. I have my alertbox successfully configured, and when I emulate the events like subscribe and tips it shows up perfectly in the SE interface and in my OBS scene. But when I had someone test out subscribing to my channel I never saw the overlay appear. Is there another step that I missed to fully plug in the integration?

EDIT: Interestingly, when I go to my dashboard in SE and click the little refresh icon next to one of the names of people that subscribed, the alert does show inside of OBS perfectly. So it just seems like they are not happening live for some reason?

hmm, just tested it with a dummy account and made sure they had subscriptions listed public, and the event did not show up at all. They are also not showing up in the YouTube recent subscribers list. Seems like something else is screwed up for me

hmm.. ask me questions to clarify if it helps. So the situation is this, on the stream elements overlay, we add a chat box. and on my OBS, i apply the web browser with that overlay and link the stream elements bot to the chat on youtube. So.. any chat on youtube appears with a name but no text from that name. Eg.. the picture above that shows the name only but no chat following it

  1. There is no chat widget for the overlays yet - we are working on adding it, but no ETA on when.
  2. If you have an overlay with the chat widget already in it, that is most likely a copy of the twitch chat widget and I assume the overlay is provided by a 3rd party company such as NoD, VBI or Own3d.tv

Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. I did not get anything on my activity feed in the streamelements website today. This was my first stream on youtube. Facebook worked fine.

Question: I initially signed up via my twitch account. When I went to log in to my YouTube account I accidentally created a new account with my YouTube channel as the sign in, instead of adding it to my main account. Now when I try to fix it and add the YouTube channel to my Primary SE (Twitch login account) it says the YouTube channel has already been claimed. Alright I know this has been discussed (I searched) but haven't found a solution. Stream delay to YT. I have it set to Ultra low-latency in YT Studio and have no delay enabled in OBS. I get a 20-25 second delay and my upload speed is 40mb/s. Any ideas? Also streaming in 1080p 60, with 6k bitrate

Hey, so I have an old youtube account with a custom URL, it currently does not hold the requirements to get it today. I had a name before and I changed it to a new name recently. When using streamelements to get alerts for youtube while streaming it works when i test it in the overlay editor, but when i go live it doesn't work. May I add that it doesn't even show up in my dashboard so im assuming there might be a channel mislink in some area? (I also did not test super chats and any other alert on youtube)

Yeah, I mentioned this a couple months ago. It's like StreamElements has a delay on noticing new subscribers on YouTube. The Twitch and Facebook side work fine, but there's some type of hangup with YouTube. It's made me bounce back and forth between StreamElements and StreamLabs throughout the year.

I tried today to connect my YouTube channel to my account but I went through the homepage while logged out and now, instead of having my YouTube account added to my account, it started a whole new account at StreamElements for my YouTube account. Subscriber alerts are no longer working with stream elements. It simply won't show. It's not only a problem with my account, but with every youtube streamer I checked.

Hi all, new SE user. I have a couple of overlays and loyalty settings. And I think one store item that Twitch users can redeem with a chat command. This is all under SE with my Twitch login. I have never explored the YT login, but is there an easy way to bring over settings from my Twitch login? The main thing I'd like to see are the loyalty settings and possibly the chat command. Or does the YT side of things even support those options?

Hey all - I recently started streaming on YT and set up StreamElements this morning. I used one of the existing super themes and was able to get the overlays showing on my stream. What I'm struggling to figure out is how to get the subscriber notification piece to work. I was able to see 'test' a sub action in the overlay from StreamElements on the stream live and it showed up, but I received about 30 subs while streaming for the last two hours and none of them generated an alert.

Any thoughts I what I might be doing wrong?

@versed tangle There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

The best way is to check it on live stream. Messages may appear with delay (after stream start, before bot catches it up), but later on they will be real time

@versed tangle To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
  2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
  3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
  4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@snow siren if a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Whenever I try to add my YouTube channel to my account, it says that it is already claimed because I logged in separately with YouTube. How do I unclaim my YouTube channel so I can add it on a different account?

  • Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

hello I am having issue with streaming. I accidentally linked my youtube and my twitch to one account and now when I stream in OBS, even when i use twitch in the obs settings, clicking Start Streaming brings up the Stream to Youtube info box. I need to unlink my youtube account

I had to completely uninstall streamelements and obs and nuke all of the cached OBS files from my PC, then reinstall and sign in initially using Twitch. Now it is letting me stream to twitch. I would still like my youtube unlinked to my stream elements please
