Then log in with your YouTube account on that page and remove the permissions for StreamElements.
Then go to our website and log back in with the YouTube account. That should restore the connection.

Hey!

I have my SE account connected to my YouTube, and when I emulate events like subscriptions it works.

However, when I'm live and someone actually subscribes the alert does not pop up, and SE says I have no stream activity.

Also, the bot says it successfully
joins my channel, but then I can click join channel again, which then says that it failed to join, but then it lets me part it.

Has anyone had this problem?

Do you have "Preview live on stream" selected when you emulate the alert? Did you add the browser source properly? To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active

To get that name changed, I would send in an email with the name + accountID you have and the name you want (https://streamelements.com/contact). For the settings, the only thing you can move back and forth are overlays (Streaming Tools > My Overlays > Three Dots > Duplicate)

This also applies for your account. Is your account set to public? That is the only way it can properly pull the data. Once you have it set to public, then log out of streamelements, log back in. Wait 5-10 minutes, goto the activity feed tab, then click "reset session".

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
• Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events

One of the issues I believe is on Youtube's side if your subs have their subscriptions on private alerts wont show up you wont even see them in your sub list.

most people have their channels they sub to as private. So your alerts wont go off unless they have it set to public. Ive heard the streamer must also have subscriptions set to public but im not sure about that because i had a sub alert when i think mine are private.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

There's an option in SE's interface to select other platform. I don't know how to start explaining it based the way asked. I guess you can find tutorials & already given advices from other channel here in SE server. Overlays made on your first platform can be easily imported, but no cmds & timers. I did those two manually yesterday. Worked out quite well while listened good ambient songs even took it's time.

• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Hi, can we have SE staff look into SE bot response to commands on YouTube chat? This problem has not been addressed officially, and is ongoing and plaguing a lot of YouTube streamers old and new, and will continue to be an issue since some are jumping in from Twitch. Quite a few of us are experiencing this right now.

Personally, I’d appreciate an ETA on a fix or at least an acknowledgement there’s an issue with the bot not responding to commands from streamer and mods or whoever has access intermittently, and SE is aware of the problem and would address a possible fix at a later date.

Alerts not responding to subscribers may be because they kept their subscriber list private. It’s a YouTube thing. If they make their subscriber list public, you’ll get a notification from SE saying they subbed to your channel (but usually delayed till 1-5 mins later).

Chat - check if you’re logged in to the correct YouTube account on SE esp if you have multiple channels. Or rebuild a browser source in OBS. Most likely the browser source could be broken.

Also I notice SE chat overlay works only if I schedule a stream 5 mins before going live. So here’s what I do.

1. Schedule a stream for 1800hrs on YouTube
2. Click on Manage Broadcast on OBS 28
3. Select the scheduled stream and go live at 1755hrs

Anything above 10 mins delay = stream overlay may not work

would this be the right place to ask for help with javascript based bot commands for youtube channel?

I am a total novice with javascript, I basically copy and paste all that I need, but now i'm at a loss. I want my chatbot to reply to the command !Hello with two different responses. I want one response to be for channel subscribers (There is a filter for userlevel to recognize Subscribers so I assume the bot can tell the difference if a user is a subscriber or not) and one response for users who aren't subscribed yet.

Examples of the results im looking for.

Example from a subscriber-

(Turkeywhilin "!Hello")

(Streamelements bot "Hello Turkeywhilin, Welcome back to our channel.")

I get the bot to part and rejoin whenever I see an issue, and it sometimes works. I know it sucks but until SE addresses this, we don’t really have any other fix. I’ve switched some of my critical commands to Nightbot and now have response on demand for them. Unfortunately, Nightbot doesn’t have alerts for subs or reactions for overlays though (I use SE to take note of how many Ko-fi donos I get per stream).

I’m also hoping SE chat overlay will one day include emoji.

Hi, I have a pretty interesting case, hoping someone could help me out! Account ID: 6337a13c141bea53c3e47bc9 I had my YT channel linked alongside my old twitch channel on SE. I deleted them both to start fresh and just have my YT account linked alongside having the unique URL on the tip page. I made a new account on SE signing in with my YT but I can't "add channel" my YouTube because it says it's already been claimed. Also my new account on SE is registered as "SE-######" instead of "justsaysteven".

So I was wondering if anyone here would know what this issue was. I tried streaming. It streamed for 6 min then it crashed. I saw it crashed because I had the YouTube stream manager thing open. OBS still said I was streaming. I then had to use task manager to "stop streaming" and reset it. Anyone know what could have caused that?

@strong surge The bot won't even work unless it public. The bot I thought had to be modded on YouTube by adding the channel. Last night, the bot just left my stream. Half the commands dont work. When you look at the variables page, its like a copy and paste from Twitch.

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
• Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events

Hi! I have StreamElements connected to my YouTube account, and use it for displaying chat and alert widgets as browser sources in OBS. I have several waiting rooms set up for future streams. However, StreamElements keeps pulling chat from waiting rooms that are NOT the next upcoming stream, and I cannot figure out why. It appears random; sometimes, it works as expected. Sometimes, it pulls the wrong chat. I can't figure out what the criteria is to make it change.

I've tried resetting my session data, remaking my widgets, refreshing the cache of my browser sources, etc. Nothing works.

Any tips on how to troubleshoot or fix this?

I have four waiting rooms scheduled:

• Tonight, 8pm ET
• Thursday, 8pm ET
• Friday, 8pm ET
• Monday, 8pm ET

When I went to start my stream tonight around 7:45 pm ET, I realized that it was pulling from my Monday stream waiting room. Nothing I did could get it to change, even after stream started.

All streams are public + listed, and the bot is sending messages correctly in chat.

I should also note that my stream last night worked perfectly, with no chat issues. It pulled the correct chat, even though all waiting rooms were created around the same time with similar settings.

• Recreating my overlays
• Logging out of SE and back in
• Parting channel and rejoining the bot
• Removing and reinstating as a moderator
• Logging in and out of SE Live
• Unlisting and relisting waiting rooms

• Refresh cache of browser source

Essentially, everything short of just deleting the waiting rooms and only making one - which is not an option, since I need the URLs of the existing waiting rooms.

I decided to try deleting my account and creating it again from the ground up since nothing was working properly for whatever reason... cool but now my channel name is not even my channels name its SE-8564821 and apparently when I go live SE doesnt see me as live so nothing works except the chat somehow so please do help with that

When someone on my chat gifts Memberships, the alerts show twice (I guess 1 time for the gift and 1 time for the new member) So this results in 10 alerts for 5 memberships.

As I have custom animations, I would like to know if its possible to make this show only once, like only 5 new members and not duplicated. Thanks.

Has anyone else had issues with resub alerts? I have a couple alert variants set for resubs and I don't even get a basic alert when someone resubs. What's also weird is these alerts have TTS enabled secondary text but there's no actual way to enable that in the variant's settings, just TTS on the main text of the notification.

If I emulate a 3 month alert from the emulate button it seems to work fine but it doesn't have this text, but when I do a custom alert emulation it has this text. These emulations also both show up fine on stream

The alerts worked one time, after the first stream and not once since, subscribers since then don't show up either.
It seems that there is an issue with the stream key that Live connects to? I'm guessing as much since when I go to the livestream via Live, it puts me to the previous stream rather than the one I'm currently running.

When I hit mange broadcast tonight I got this error “youtube access error exceeded your quota” I had to logout and just use the stream key to stream. If I’m logged in I can’t go live. Then my commands for my bot stopped working entirely and I didn’t have a custom name for it either just streamelements bot

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Hi all, I've set up a custom overlay to add a chatbox to my YTL stream. Pretty standard stuff, but I can't get it to work.

I followed all the steps in your tutorials — added the chat widget to a custom-sized overlay and added that overlay URL as a browser source in OBS — but alas, no chat is showing up on stream (only in the dock). I'm actively streaming an unlisted test feed right now, and the stream itself seems to be working fine. Chat messages are showing up on YTL as they should, including when I type them into SE's chat dock in OBS. But nothing shows up in the chatbox on stream.

What am I missing? Any tips would be much appreciated, thx!

Due to changes by Youtube there can be a delay up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications. This is the new intended way for receiving events from Youtube by their design.

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a user's subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Bot rarely responds to (custom) commands
So I have added a bot to my YT stream. At the start of the stream, after about 40 seconds StreamElements enters the chat with the message: ​StreamElements bot running 🤖
But when we run the commands, it rarely works. Either custom commands as standard commands such as !commands. Sometimes when we try again after a hour, it works, and sometimes it will never work. Is this a known issue? My streams are always public.

Hi, I'm having an issue where chat for SE.Live flickers rapidly between 2 pages before dying and looking like a white page. Currently I'm getting around it by using pop out chat from YouTube directly but I'd like chat to just work in the OBS client. I've tried uninstalled/reinstalling both SE.Live and OBS. More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
• Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Currently there is a known issue with going Live with SE.Live. Devs are aware of the issue.
The workaround for this is, to click on the "Live Video Settings" button in the chat dock and use the 2nd option from the pop up "Use these settings" to go live.

Same problems as me & tons of SE supporters have had for a while. Timers work, but nothing else even all confirming locations give greenlight. Manage your YouTube videos - Live streams on YT are essentially videos being uploaded as you stream. Our bot needs this to join said streams/videos and moderate the chat.

View your YouTube account - so we are able to gather new subs, super chats, etc.

Manage your YouTube account - not sure what this should be, but I assume its just a general connection thing

View your email addresses - so that we can send you stream reports and have a point of contact if we need to contact you

@candid wolf I am having the very same issue as @hybrid stratus even when my current channel members (Sponsors) re-join, it shows in YT chat but no alerts. I can trigger them from the dash or emulate but they are not triggering normally. Any chance of a quick chat on a call?

If i use stream labs website for alerts, everything works.

Is there a delay on sub alerts for stream elements on youtube? or is it a setting that is on?

Due to changes by Youtube there can be a delay up to 4 hours with subscriber notifications. This is the new intended way for receiving events from Youtube by their design.

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a user's subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

If a user has it set to Private they will not show up in the activity feed. More info: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7280190

Hi everyone, is there an issue with custom timers not working correctly at the moment at all? I have about 8 that are set to show on stream every 10 minutes or so and I only got 2 in 2 hours. It was fine a while back, but now it appears to be broken. tia

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Also, please make sure that StreamElements has the following permissions for your account:

Manage your YouTube videos - Live streams on YT are essentially videos being uploaded as you stream. Our bot needs this to join said streams/videos and moderate the chat.
View your YouTube account - so we are able to gather new subs, super chats, etc.
Manage your YouTube account - not sure what this should be, but I assume its just a general connection thing
View your email addresses - so that we can send you stream reports and have a point of contact if we need to contact you

Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts allows for faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
• Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: http://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

I need my permissions fixed on my stream elements YT account which I believe is a brand account. I think that is the issue. Removing comments in chat doesn't remove from the overlay and it doesn't react to commands
I don't see a way to fix it from my side as I can't query to get the permissions. Might be related to the account being SE + numbers because the import was strange?

I can delete the message on youtube and hide it. But it still shows up on the streamelements chat for the full duration.
only thing i know is expanding my filtered words,... but thats not a full protection if they start using weird spelling and i gotta manually delete messages

had the same issue, make sure you're actually logged into streamelements yt when you're live. if you were last logged in to twitch on SE and stream on YT, timers work but commands do not. even if it says the bot is running. took 5 months to figure this out.

been testing streaming on YT for 6 months. now moving most of my streams there except gaming. still wish more stuff worked on YT ...

If you are attempting to stream to one streaming platform, but SE.Live is attempting to stream to another, please try the following:

Navigate to StreamElements menu, on top of OBS > Logout > Login

After you have logged back in navigate to File > Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Reconnect

But it seems, that SE doesn't know that I am streaming.
Also the chat bot commands do not work on YouTube.

Been following how to do it. But I can not get Streamelements Chatbot to work on my Youtube stream.

I have no issue with it on my twitch stream, but for some reason, even though StreamElements says its connected, and I copied the URL into Youtube settings and it says StreamElements. It still does no commands that I eneter like !uptime.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
