@celest jasper ... i'm neutral on this 'host' thing. It doesn't make sense why you would want an alert for a 0 host event. and it easily becomes a 'spam' issue for some users

It's a 1 host event, but ANY host event, as far as I've understood how it works, promotes a stream via the twitch algorithm

And if it becomes a spam issue, allow a viewer count threshhold in the host settings

well, it doesn't matter too much, most of the communities that have a problem with NOT having the hosts moved over to another alert system that hadn't broken them. But that's the conventional wisdom, getting hosted does seem to increase the visibility of channels. But you're absolutely correct, there's not really a way of knowing for sure.

my two cents on this ^^^ is i really couldn't care for host notifications when 9 out of 10 its 0 view hosts what just end up being spam anyways i also don't like how se alerts can't tell the difference between a host and a raid ie they overlap one of the reasons why i have host notifications off but having saying that for some weird ass reasons some streamers seem to like getting 0 view hosts so i feel like this should be a option to have that enabled for those who want it tho but yeah that's my two cents

You wouldn't get banned for something like that. But keep in mind most people here are answering questions as they can, working on getting an answer if they don't have it immediately/asking around, dealing with all other channels questions, tickets and questions outside of just this discord, projects/meetings, etc and while they show online, could be busy with any of that and/or always show online especially if they always have discord open on their pc. Also a lot of people here are volunteering time to help. They help us as they can and usually get an answer or "hey were asking around" in a day or so 😊

Most people benefit on making the backgrounds a mov or webm because quality preserved better than gif

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4. Start SE.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

I've been able to use a workaround- try to spend your channel points on yourself and when you do it'll prompt you to login again and once you do they'll show up for that instance. Hopefully just a workaround until it gets fixed

Hi! I'd like to stream some games, but i have a small issue. Even when normally i have between 95-110 fps in the game, the stream is a little bit "laggy" like i'd have a low fps. Which i don't. Yeah, i tried change my bitrate, the encoder, even the resolution i was streaming. I even tried a few others streaming programs. Nothing helped. I also had these pixels problems, whenever i moved, the grass or dirt became awful. I fixed that by changing encoder on CPU, but the lags wasn't fixed by that.

I can say that with the latest version of OBS and with the recent update of SE.LIVE some users are experiencing issues. The Beta version of SE.Live is designed to address said issue

The latest beta build resolves those issues and fixes some of the compatibility issues with obs 27.2.X

That disclaimer is on every beta product. It basically is blanket liability waiver in case you’ve never had the opportunity to utilize beta software. The reason the latest release candidate was pushed via the beta channel was the immediacy of the compatibility issues

Sooo running into an issue. There is an update with OBS I originally declined the update for later install. Looks like SElive look for updates button doesnt recognize that there is an OBS update and it replaced the OBS look for updates button. Trying to update OBS because it's going to lock me out of twitch in a few more days if it isnt updated. Help

Restart obs and it should prompt you for the update. I believe it checks daily with obs servers. I can tell you that a 27.2.1 compatible version of SE.Live is coming up really quick, so you shouldn’t have any problems when the API shutdown occurs on Monday

@frozen pasture yeah Restarting isnt helping 😦 I got a warning and it told me to go to help and select look for updates button. But it looks like the SE plug in removes that selection and adds it to the SE tab instead. Unfortunately it is only looking for SE updates and not OBS updates.

You’ll probably have to check tomorrow. Odds are it has a timer on obs checking for updates. I know that part of obs studio still works and it does check for updates, so it could just be on a timer. It will work until the new SE.Live build releases soon.
