now I realize how low-IQ I was being

Back then, in like 2016, the best widely available livestreaming software was still basically XSplit

So things have changed quite a lot since then. I haven't heard of more than one person using XSplit since like 2017 because OBS stepped their game up a lot since then

I duplicated the same overlay I used on my TrovoLive streams (Trigon) because I needed the alertboxes and I started deleting the duplicate at a rapid speed and thats when the thing froze

Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Its great to be involved in multiple platforms for maximum reach. Sometimes 1 might take off more than other, but plugging and diversifying is great for exposure.

That's why I got involved with Vimm. I saw a need for a competitor to Twitch and didn't really see anyone doing what I thought needed to be done to really rival the platform. There's a definite need for diversification in the streaming space, and we really need more platforms to really give it a go. Mixer was doing a solid job on that front for quite a while, it's a shame they left the space...

I would even recommend Tik Tok for stream highlights and short content. The internet will sporadically pick up content at any given time. Sometimes being at the right place and time is key for first big exposure.

Hi, i'm wondering if this is the right channel to ask if certain widgets exist. I am looking for a widget that will allow me to pop a sub, follow, tip, bit etc on stream (not just the SE overlay editor) As a way to test if the Stream Marathon Timer widget works.

For example, I have a problem with the opaque nature of growth on Twitch. It's impossible to see where you stand, and what your next goal should be. To resolve this, we set up a leaderboard that shows you where you stand in regards to everyone else that streams on the platform. You gain points in 3 areas:

-Consistency: The number of minutes you broadcast
-Activity: The activity in your chat room
-Builder: How much you give back to the community by going out and chatting in others' chats, subscribing, and upvoting on the hive blockchain (we have an underlying blockchain tech that's really neat, too)

What I did there was have a command that would $readrandline(PATH_TO_TXT_FILE) and in that txt I would have a bunch of $addpoints() lines that would give different messages and point values
Looking to replicate this, but using JS in a custom widget, but I am unsure of the $addpoints syntax, as well as how to post as the bot

Or I'm thinking of having a command that reaches out to a Google Script and returns a string that has the appropriate addpoints line

Ok, so first of all, this is definitely a support issue and can be written in one of the #helpdesk channels, according to your platform of choice.

Regarding the email settings: if you're on Twitch, then the email is pulled from Twitch every time you log in. To change it, you have to change your Twitch account email.

If you got an email about the sponsorship, you're good.

Regarding the stream summary emails:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Maybe I should rephrase @shell rain . I basically only want SE Alerts for individual new subs, and individual resubs. I handle gifted subs through a LioranBoard alert. But when someone gifts 5 subs, the LB alert plays, but also it plays a resub alert from SE for all the gifted people that are resubs. I don't want that to happen.

To be honest, LB is just a pain to set up, and I have purchased a few alert packs from Nerd or Die, and I like a few parts of them. But yeah, I'll eventually move it over I guess. LB is much more capable for sure.
